The matches of the semi-finals were finally announced. Only this time, no flag captures were required to win, only knockouts. Warriors and their Pokemon took to the fields. Kiyoto and Oichi were facing Ginchiyo and Muneshige while Masanori and Kiyomasa were battling Big Jumbo and his subordinate. Kanbei begin to sweat bullets as he was standing face to face Mitsunari and Hanbei who was surrounded by a black void of an aura. Kiyoko felt bad for Kanbei, but she couldn't understand why Mitsunari and Hanbei were staring daggers at him. Yoshihiro and Gurdurr watches closely on the battles, mostly focusing on Kiyoto and Kiyoko and their Pokemon. In one of the battles, Kiyoto's team and Ginchiyo's team were evenly matched, with neither side budging an inch.

"Pidgeotto, Wing Attack on Luxio!" Kiyoto said. Pidgeotto's wings started glowing and aimed for Luxio.

"Intercept the attack, Staravia!" said Muneshige. Staravia flew in front of Pidgeotto, causing Pidgeotto to stop it's attack.

"Now, Whirlwind!" Staravia started flapping it's wings, creating a strong gust of wind, pushing Pidgeotto back.

"Jigglypuff, use Sing now!" Oichi shouted. Jigglypuff sang out colorful musical notes, which traveled towards Luxio.

"Luxio, Thunderbolt!" Ginchiyo said. Luxio released Thunderbolt that was heading towards the musical notes, destroying them instantly.

"Then use Iron Tail!"

"Counter it with Wake Up Slap!" Luxio launched a fierce attack with Iron Tail which Jigglypuff countered it with a series of Wake Up Slaps. Both attacks hit their opponent at the exact same moment, sending both Jigglypuff and Luxio skidding back.

"Pidgeotto, Aerial Ace on Luxio!"

"Staravia, Wing Attack on Jigglypuff!" Both bird Pokemon hit their marks, causing both Jigglypuff and Luxio to faint. Now it was Pidgeotto verse Staravia.

"Now Staravia, use Take Down!" Staravia is rushing at full speed towards Pidgeotto.

"Dodge it!" Pidgeotto avoid the attack and ascended higher into the sky.

"Chase after Pidgeotto!" Staravia was soon behind Pidgeotto and closing in."

"Pidgeotto!"

"Staravia!"

"Aerial Ace!" Pidgeotto flipped in a U shape and nosedive towards Staravia with white streaks behind it. Staravia was facing Pidgeotto head on with the same move. Both collided with smoke appearing after the impact. Dropping out of the smoke was Pidgeotto and Staravia heading towards the ground.

"Pidgeotto!"

"Staravia!" Kiyoto and Muneshige run onto the field with their arms spread wide open, catching their Pokemon.

"Both Pidgeotto and Staravia fainted, so neither side will be advancing to the next round." a referee declared. The crowd was in an uproar, for this was the first time a tie was ever declared in the Pugilis stadium.

"Are you okay?" Kiyoto asked, looking at Pidgeotto with a worried look.

"Pidge..." Pidgeotto said, looking somewhat upset at the result. Kiyoto let out a small smile.

"I am so proud, Pidgeotto. You battled you with everything you got."

"My dear Staravia, are you alright?" Muneshige asked as Staravia slowly opened it's eyes.

"Star..." Staravia said, lowering down it's head in defeat. Muneshige begin stroking Staravia's head.

"You were just magnificent, Staravia and your battle proves it." Upon hearing their master's words, both Pokemon regained their spirits and flew onto their master's shoulder. Meanwhile, the battles continued as Masanori and Kiyomasa, along with Fraxure and Krokorok were struggling with their battle against Big Jumbo and his goon with their Machoke and Throh.

"Krokorok, Stone Edge!" Masanori shouted. Sharp rocks appeared around Krokorok as it send the rocks towards Machoke.

"Machoke, use Brick Break on the rocks!" Big Jumbo commanded. Machoke's fists started to glow as it punches the rocks back. Machoke was able to catch some of the Stone Edge in it's hands.

"Send back the Stone Edge with Fling!" Machoke hurled the Stone Edge back towards Krokorok and Fraxure at an alarming speed.

"Krokorok, dodge it!" Masanori called out.

"Avoid it, Fraxure!" Kiyomasa added. Krokorok and Fraxure tried their best to avoid the incoming Stone Edge, but were hit by the attack. The hit from the Stone Edge just added to the damages from previous attacks, causing Krokorok and Fraxure to drop to one knee.

"Is this all you got, Masanori?" questioned Big Jumbo. Masanori glared daggers at Big Jumbo, clenching his fist.

"Hey, Masanori, where did you get that Krokorok?" asked the goon.

"I bet you stole that weak Pokemon from someone, just like you took Big Jumbo's money."

"Shut up!" Masanori shouted.

"You can insult me any way you like, but don't make fun of Krokorok, my partner." Krokorok, feeling Masanori's spirit, rose off it's knee and steeled it's resolve in front of Machoke and Throh. Fraxure followed suit, standing behind Krokorok and ready to assist.

"Charge at them, Krokorok!" Krokorok rushed towards Machoke and Throh. Suddenly, Krokorok's claws and arms started glowing.

"That's Brick Break!" Kiyomasa commented. Krokorok got close to both Machoke and Throh, giving Machoke a sky uppercut and pounded Throh into the ground. After delivering the blows, Krokorok dig into the ground and hid underground. After Machoke and Throh recovered from the blows, Krokorok popped out of the ground and begin taunting them.

"Machoke, use Brick Break on that punk!" Machoke tried slamming it's fists on Krokorok, only to find an empty hole, then Krokorok appeared behind Throh.

"Throh, grab that sucker!" Throh made an attempt to grab Krokorok, only to miss with Krokorok burrowing into the ground again. Watching the battle, Masanori was confused by Krokorok's sudden actions.

"What is Krokorok doing?" Masanori questioned as he watches Krokorok avoid another of Machoke's attacks.

"Oh, I get it!" Kiyomasa stated. Masanori looked at Kiyomasa with a puzzled stare.

"Get what, Kiyomasa?"

"Fraxure, jump into that hole and use Dragon Tail!" Following it's master's instructions, Fraxure jumped into the nearest hole.

"Can someone tell me what is going?!" Throh was on high alert, looking out for Krokorok. As it inches near one of Krokorok pre-made holes, Fraxure jumped out with it's tail glowing blue and stuck Throh from behind. Throh flew into Machoke, both Pokemon fell down while Fraxure disappeared back into the hole. This method continued with Fraxure using Dragon Tail and Krokorok using Stone Edge on the confused Throh and Machoke.

"Enough! Machoke, use Earthquake!" Big Jumbo commanded.

"Krokorok!"

"Fraxure!"

"Now!" As Machoke jumped up into the air, Krokorok and Fraxure sprung out of the holes and towards Machoke. Krokorok's arm started glowing as well as Fraxure's tail. Both Pokemon struck down Machoke with their attacks. The airborne Machoke collided with Throh, both Pokemon fell down and fainted.

"Machoke and Throh are unable to battle. Advancing to the next round is Krokorok and Fraxure." the referee declared. The crowd was in uproar as Masanori and Kiyomasa high five each other.

"This isn't over, Masanori!" Big Jumbo shouted as he left the arena with his goon and Pokemon. At the same time, Kiyoko and Kanbei manage to win their battle against Mitsunari and Hanbei, whose anger towards Kanbei had not subsided. The rest of the gang joined Keiji and Yoshimoto in the crowd and watched the final battle between Kiyoko and Kanbei and Masanori and Kiyomasa.

"Milotic, use Ice Beam!" Kiyoko said. Milotic released an Ice Beam at Fraxure.

"Fraxure, dodge it, and then use Dragon Tail!" Kiyomasa shouted. Fraxure dodge the Ice Beam and hit Milotic with Dragon Tail, causing Milotic to skid back.

"Lampert, Fire Burst!" Kanbei commanded. Lampent send a ball of flames towards Krokorok who jumped away from the released flames.

"Milotic, use Surf, and then use Ice Beam!" Milotic started glowing blue as a big wave was summoned and directed towards Krokorok and Fraxure. Both Pokemon were swept up in the wave as Milotic froze the wave with Ice Beam.

"Lampert, Flamethrower!" Lampert sends out a Flamethrower, shattering the ice and hitting Krokorok and Fraxure. Once the Flamethrower subsided, both Pokemon laid on the ground, fainted.

"Krokorok and Fraxure are unable to battle. The Pugilis Team-up Tournament's winners are Kiyoko and Kanbei!" the referee declared as the crowd was cheering.

"Hold it!" A voice boomed out, quieting the whole stadium as they saw Lord Yoshihiro and Gurdurr took to the field with another warrior and Scrafty.

"I don't believe what I am seeing; Lord Yoshihiro has just appeared on the field! Is he the one who would present the secret prize?!" Ito announced.

"Lady Kiyoko of Aurora, I challenge you to a battle of the kingdoms!" Yoshihiro declared, pointing at Kiyoko.

"What?" everyone shouted, causing a commotion within the stadium.

"Lord Yoshihiro has declared a battle with Lady Kiyoko, one of the warlords of Aurora. At stake will be the kingdom of Pugilis and the kingdoms gather by the twin warlords. How will Lady Kiyoko response?"

"Lady Kiyoko, what should we do?" Kanbei asked, looking over to Kiyoko. A smile graced her face as she looked at Yoshihiro.

"I accept your challenge!" she shouted. The stadium started to glow as it changes into a red and white fighting arena with two colorless banners on both sides.

"Here are the rules: the team who gets both of their opponents' banners will be declared the winner." Yoshihiro explained.

"I understand." Kiyoko answered before turning to Kanbei.

"I'm sorry, Kanbei, but can you help in this battle?"

"Of course, Lady Kiyoko, for that is my duty as a warrior."

"Thanks, Kanbei." Kiyoto and the others were in the stands, waiting for the battle begins.

"I cannot believe that old man Yoshihiro would do this." Keiji said.

"I know he is a big gambler, but the risks in the battle are too high."

"Keiji." Kiyoto said, turning towards him.

"Yea, what is it?"

"Can you think of any reasons why Lord Yoshihiro would do this?"

"I don't know, even this one got me stumped."

"Kiyoto..." Kiyoto turned to Oichi.

"What's wrong, Oichi?"

"Lady Kiyoko, is she going to be okay?" Oichi questioned, worried. Kiyoto smiled and place his hand on her hand.

"Don't worry, Kiyoko will be fine. She will win this battle." Kiyoto look at his sister who was more than eager for the battle to start.

"Kiyoko, I am counting on you." he thought.
