Jackson was attempting to be seductive but not entirely succeeding because she was still kind of mad at him and she wanted to stick to her guns.
''Maybe I should take a shower'' she said trying to duck him
'' No, you don't need a shower'' he said kissing her again, she kissed him slowly but the heat became more and more. She shut her eyes tight and then managed to duck away.
''You know what, If you can manage to get me dinner quick maybe you can join me in the shower'' she said running off upstairs leaving Jackson hanging. She liked teasing him and it drove him insane each time she did that. He took his phone and ordered as many options as possible for Maggie, he heard the sound of a running shower so he made his way upstairs and found her already started. He stripped off and walked slowly towards her, stood behind her, he started kissing her neck under the running water while his fingers started tracing her lower back. She then slowly turned to face him; she began kissing him with their bodies pressed into each other. She started melting into him, losing all the control of her body as the kissing became more intense. His hands then moved down to her thighs pulling her legs apart as if holding her up pressing her back against the wall. He moved her a little higher and lowered his chin to in-between her breasts while still kissing her all over. ''Oh, is that what that was?'' he said smirking at her ''let me also get ready because the food would be here any minute. He quickly rinsed himself under the shower and grabbed some shorts and went down stairs while Maggie finished her shower. The two then had their dinner in bed as they watched some TV. After finishing up Jackson cleared up while Maggie spent a little time on her laptop. Jackson walked back in and found Maggie packing the laptop, he stood by the door with his hands at his back like he was hiding something from her
''You still sleeping in the guest room'' Maggie said
''That`s fine, but I am still up so technically if I am up I can still be here'' he said walking towards her.
''I know that look, that's a babe I did something so don`t be mad look'' she said getting in the blankets
''Yeah, I know I messed things up for us in SF but I couldn't help but ask if this means what I think it means'' he said pulling her Pierce-Avery warriors jersey.
''And what do you think it means?'' Maggie said with a smile
''I don`t want go over my head but are you saying you will take my name''
''Yes Jackson Avery I will take your name'' he couldn't contain his excitement as he jumped on the bed to be next to her
''Are you being serious right now?''
''Yes I am'' she said with a smile as Jackson reached for her lips for a kiss
''This is the best gift you have given me and thank you so much, how did you pull those tickets. As a matter of fact how did you get your hands on these and manage to get them signed''
''That`s my secret and I am not telling''
''Oh come on''
''I am serious I am not telling''
''You know what I will find out. I got my sources'' he said as he climbed on top of her
''Well, good luck with that?'' she said with a little smirk
''It was an amazing game, next time I will take you'''
''Nope, that was going to be a once off thing, please feel free to take Alex or Ben because I am not that much into basketball or sports in general'' she said smiling at him ''the things I do for you, one will swear I am whipped'' she said looking at him.
''And what is wrong with that?'' he looked at her and smiled at her
''Are we ever going to talk about your father or are we just going to pretend he does not exist'' Maggie said bringing up a sore subject while Jackson's face turned from happy to something one couldn't tell if it was anger or sadness. He rolled over, moving off from on top of her and lied next to her silently. Maggie stood up and made her way to the bathroom to brush her teeth. He then followed her and held her from behind in front of a mirror
''It`s not that I don`t want to talk about it, it`s just that I am conflicted about the whole thing and I don`t know if I want to talk about it or not. I don`t even know if what I am saying makes sense''
''It makes perfect sense, whenever you are ready''
''Thanks for understanding, what do you think I should do because I honestly don`t know'' she quickly rinsed her mouth, turned to face him with her hands behind his neck and stood on her tippy toes and kissed him. She stood for a moment and looked in his eyes and said
''This is something you will have to figure out on your own, I just want you to know that whatever you decide I will support you'' he smiled at her and kissed her once more
''I know''
''Now let's get some sleep, we got work tomorrow''
''Am I still in the dog house'' he said with puppy dog eyes
''Yep, you still are'' Maggie said moving past him to the bedroom to get some sleep
''Do you think we can at least do dinner tomorrow''
''I have a light day so that will work''

The next day
''Come on, come on'' Maggie said as she kept hitting the elevator buttons with one hand while her other hand held her phone on her ear. Parker was keeping her up to speed with their next patient. The doors opened, she froze for a second seeing Jackson and Collins in it. Her blood began to boil but this was not the time.
''Yes, Dr Bailey I am on my way up...'' she said once in the elevator through her phone
''Yes Parker has briefed me. I will be there just now''
''Yes I know'' she said dropping the call and throwing her phone in her coat. She took her scrub cap and tied it quickly, took off her coat and handed it to Parker who then handed her a hand sanitizer. She sprinkled it on her hands and gave it back to him.
''Once these doors open, you better drop these by the nurse`s station and make sure you are gowned and scrubbed within 5. I will do what I can but I will need your hands in there as soon as possible''
''Yes mam'' Parker responded
''I will take them for you'' Collins said but Maggie ignored her as she kept her eyes fixated on the doors. Parker read the room and held on to the staff until Jackson said
''Give them to me Parker'' Parker looked at Maggie who signalled her that it was fine. He handed everything to Jackson and started tying his scrub cap, the doors opened and the two dashed out for their emergency cardiac procedure.
''She is amazing and she probably hates me'' Collins said
''Yes she is amazing''
''Jackson once again I am sorry''
''Like I said, we good'' he said stepping out of the elevator heading to his lab.

The dinner was going great but Jackson kept waiting for Maggie to bring up the elevator ride. She said nothing of sort as she kept enjoying her food.
''So about this afternoon, she found me in the lift and nothing happened''
''Okay, I know I said you need to tell me everything. I mean I was taken back a little when I saw the two of you in there for a second but then I thought well, we talked about this so there isn't anything. I will just have to find a way to work with her because I can`t just ignore her forever'' Jackson smiled as he looked at her.
''What? Is there something on my face?'' Maggie said wiping her mouth with a napkin
''Nah, your face is perfect, you are just cute when you are mad sometimes, you have this thing you do with your lip when you are mad ''
''What?'' she asked smiling at him
''I don`t know, it kind of quivers a little. It's cute but I know it`s not good when I see it, just do me a favour please tell me if something is bothering you okay, don`t keep it okay''
''I will try, are you saying that because you don`t want to see me angry''
''I don`t mind you if you are angry, I mean it`s okay to be angry sometimes, I just don`t want to be the one who makes you angry''
''You are smooth'' she said smiling at him
''I know, so did everything workout for your patient''
''Yeah, the surgery was successful, he will live''
''Well that`s something, listen babe, I wanted to talk you about something''
''Okay, is everything okay?'' Maggie said finishing her food
''Yeah yeah'' Jackson said signalling that they were ready for the dessert ''Okay how do I say this, obviously you are aware that this won't be my first marriage but I am here hoping that it will be my last''
''I know that but I am not sure where this is going'' Maggie said as they got their desserts
''How do you feel about prenuptial agreements''
''Okay I think I get where this is going now''
''The thing is I had one in my first marriage and it made the divorce proceedings so easy...
''Babe it`s okay'' Maggie said holding his hand as they sat across each other ''if you need me to sign one I will sign it, I will just have to run it by my lawyers first. You don`t need to explain yourself, trust me I get it''
''I am saying I had one that made it so easy for me to just walk out of my marriage and when I got with you I told myself that if I am to do marriage I want to do it right with my eyes fully open...''
''Babe it`s okay, like I said I get it'' she said still holding his hand
''I am saying I don`t want a prenup if it`s going to make it easy to walk away from you''
''Okay, back up a little because now I am a little lost'' Maggie said letting go of his hand
''I am in this for the long haul and I want you to be in it with me''
''Of course I am in this for the long haul but how does your mum feel about this?''
''She said she made April sign it because we were not being rational when we decided to marry and she was sure we were not going to last. I asked her if she had drawn any prenups for you to sign she said nope she only has a wedding to prepare for''
''Wow, that doesn't sound like Catherine. What are you going to do then?'' Maggie asked expressing a little confusion
''I had my lawyer draw something up'' he said handing her the papers.
''Okay'' she said scanning through the papers from top to bottom, one after the other. Maggie was amazed by what she was reading. The whole document was drafted to protect her. They were to be equal partners in everything they brought into their marriage and all they would gain after they marry. The one thing that stood out for Maggie was one about one party being responsible for the end of the marriage. In the case of the husband being responsible (i.e cheatin) for the end of the marriage he will forfeit everything to wife but if the wife was responsible she will still keep her 50% of everything. She started getting a little teary as she read the whole thing.
''Wow, why am I not forfeiting anything if I am the one who causes us to end''
''That`s because I would want us to try and work before I give up all of that. Like I said, I am hoping for it to be my last so I can`t hold you down at the same standard as me because you still have to be free. I am making that choice babe and you don`t need to make it as well''
She took a pen and scratched her terms and wrote the same condition for herself and said ''well I want this to be my only marriage as well so get your lawyer to change that and I will sign it'' she said handing her the corrected paper with a smile
''It was my dad who got us the tickets and those jerseys''
''Excuse me'' Jackson said with a little confused face
''I mean the basketball tickets and those personalised jerseys, him and the owner go way back so he called in for some favours and got it done. I actually asked for the tickets the day of the party but he said he couldn't promise on the jerseys. I wasn't sure if he was going to pull it off''
''Wow, I didn't see that coming because I actually thought it was my mum, so what did your dad say about you taking my name''
''He was actually against hyphenating, well he still is because he is a traditional old fashioned man, he believes a family should just have one name so we reached a compromise. I told him I will legally be Pierce-Avery because I still want Pierce to stick but I will be going by Avery so he settled for that.''
''I really want to hug your dad right now'' he said with a smile plastered on his face ''in as much as I want you to take my name, what about you? What do you want?'' he asked
''Honestly, I wanted to stick with Pierce but after I talked with my dad, I changed my mind because he said some truths that I never thought of''
''Okay'' Jackson said encouraging her to go on
''He told me the importance of a family unit and what oneness entails. How far the two of us can go, what we can accomplish together and what legacy we can build. He said if I kept Pierce I will make something of it but it won`t be as great as two people working on one name and when I told him how Avery wasn't the best of names of late, he said it`s up to us to start rebuilding it and make something for ourselves. To him family is for life even after a divorce so yeah I want to go by Avery'' Jackson couldn't hold the joy he felt as he listened to Maggie speaking ''your dad is a smart man''
''Yeah, he is a man of few words such that when he speaks you just have to listen'' she said with a little chuckle.
''Thank you babe, this really means a lot and this is the best gift you have given me today, the fact that you are willing to take my shitty name and do something with it. I don`t know what to say'' he said holding her hand and kissing it.
''You don`t have to say anything because you have already said everything in your prenup'' she said letting out a little laugh because she still thought it was a little silly ''just promise me you will be honest with me and not break my trust'' she continued as she rubbed his face a little with her right hand
''That I can promise''
''What do you say we get out of here'' Maggie said looking him straight in his eye. He took her by the hand after settling the bill and the two made their way to the car. Before they could make it to the car Jackson grabbed her and started kissing her passionately.
''Babe, we are in a parking lot'' she said not attempting to stop him either.
''I missed you babe and right now you have just made me the happiest man alive and I can`t hold myself so don`t blame me okay, I am trying to have this moment'' he said in between the kisses as he pressed for his car to open and they made it to the back seat without breaking off each other. She roughly took his shirt off as he ran his hands up her legs. He hit jackpot when he felt that she was not wearing any panties. He softly pushed her so that her back was against the door and went down on her. He did his magic down there as Maggie couldn't help but squirm and mourn to an extent that he had to restrain her. They drove for a while with Maggie trying to figure out where they were going until he pulled up at the Ferry Terminal.
''I know it`s late and you are probably wandering why we are here. We are spending our two days off in a boat. I know I haven't taken you here because I have been thinking about selling it for a while. So now with our prenup I can`t make that decision by myself so we ought to make that decision together''
''Come on, we haven't even signed it yet''
''I already have in my head so think about it''
''You are really serious about this, aren't you'' Maggie asked
''Yep'' he said as he helped her into the boat while the crew members took their bags in. Maggie removed her heels as she walked around getting the tour from one of the crew members. After she finished she moved down to where Jackson, he welcomed her with a glass of champagne. She took it as he took her in one of his arms and said
''So Dr Avery, what do you think, should we sell or not'' she stood on her tippy toes, looked him straight in the eyes and kissed him
''Well, I still need to feel it, I will decide after we give it a test drive''
''Oh yeah'' Jackson said putting his glass away holding her close. He lifted her chin up and started kissing her.
''Okay babe, I like that kind of test drive but that`s not really the one I meant''
''Oh really'' he said as he continued with kisses all over her
''Babe there are people working, they will know''
''So let them know, we have a boat to test drive''
