Epilogue: A Legend Called Blade
It's been five years since the day we've defeated Jaishin-14 once and for all, and to be honest, I can't recall defeating it with my own hands. Even though my cousins, milk-sisters and friends told me that I defeated it and Midas once and for all, it still didn't explain how I managed to beat him while I was unconscious. Did I really do the impossible? Well… I'll leave that to your imagination.
As of now, as autumn came by, I walked out from a local studio in Tokyo, with a paper in hand. There was an audition for casting new actors for their next series of Kamen Rider. With a sigh of defeat, I mumbled, "Well, there goes my chance of becoming the next Kamen Rider…"
"Don't worry, son. There's always next time." Father assured, patting my back with his casual smile. Oh, just so you know, I recently started my acting career three months ago and the very first thing Father recommended was to become a part of the Tokusatsu family… and I didn't make the cut. "Kamen Rider isn't the only one you can cast in. There's Super Sentai and Space Sheriff that's up for grabs. Why are you stubborn of wanting to be part of the Kamen Rider crew? Is it because of my legacy as Kamen Rider Nero?"
"Well… yes and no." I said.
"Huh?" Father asked confused.
"Well, yes because ever since we defeated, or supposedly I defeated Jaishin-14, things have been different and I wanted to get back in there as a Kamen Rider. And no, because well… I have my own legacy to pave."
"Well, someday your efforts will be noticed, son. Just like you, it took me three times to get that role. I just hope the next audition would make you pass with flying colors." Father consoled. "B'sides, the director seems to take a liking to ya. I'm sure everything will do just fine after my meeting with him soon."
"I know…" I sighed. "Looks like I gotta tell Mei-chan about this and probably take up on Tou-san's offer to have a minor role on his new sitcom coming soon…"
"I'm sure she'll understand. She's your wife, after all and we still loves you all the same." he added before heading towards the car. "C'mon, you drive to the nearby supermarket. We need to get some groceries for your mom, especially those diapers at home… lots of them." he joked, throwing me the keys to me.
"Right." I sweat dropped before we got in the car, started it, and drove off. As we drove, the two of us sat in silence for a while before Father spoke up.
"It's been five years. Time flies by." Father said.
"Yeah." I replied.
"And I'm glad things went back to normal. Especially after that court hearing." Father added. "If it weren't for your uncle suddenly appearing before us, our secret would have been out to the public and the rest of our family would have been targets of scandal or even worse… those scientists might ask or make us do something weird with those Portal cards we earned…"
Oh yeah… that's right. I remember Uncle Ephraim saying something about that.
Flashback - 5 years ago
"I… am a Princess… from a foreign nation…" Eirika declared with resolution.
…
…
…
…
"EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!/WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTT?!"
The whole court was in an uproar, shocked from her claim.
"K-Kurogasa! You didn't say anything about THIS!" Phoenix exclaimed, looking at his current client.
"Y-Yeah, I'm surprised as you are, Nick!" Maya added.
"Ehehe… I guess I forgot to mention that." Kurogasa laughed weakly with a sheepish smile and sweat drop. To be fair, he was half-lying because he already knew.
"We're screwed… we're totally screwed!" Phoenix said, sweating heavily. "Now I don't know if I can protect you from what your wife just said! I might as well have Edgeworth hit the final nail on the coffin!"
*BONK!*
"OW!"
"C'mon, no backing out now, Nick!" Maya scolded. "Besides, Edgeworth isn't here! He's back in America, being the Chief Prosecutor! His hands are already tied up with all that paperwork!"
"M-Maya? C-can you summon out y-your sister about this? I suddenly losing my confidence here…" Pheonix mumbled.
"My, my, well… this is unexpected…" The Judge blinked surprised. "Eirika Kururugi, are you sure what you claimed is true?"
"Yes." Eirika nodded without hesitation. "As I said before, I shall hold true to my words."
"Do you have any proof of your royal lineage?" the lawyer asked, as the manager kept her grin. "If you do not have any evidence to prove that, you might be sentenced to life in prison for lying under oath and illegally immigrating to Japan without any proper documents."
"I got it all right here!"
A voice exclaimed, as everyone inside the court looked at the door and noticed Ephraim, wearing a proper three piece suit and glasses, and his wife, Tana, in a proper secretary dress code, holding the documents in her arm, walking towards the gate, standing before everyone. "W-What?! Who's that?!" Phoenix exclaimed, shocked to see his sudden appearance.
"Ephraim!" Eirika gasped, surprised to see her brother.
"Order! Order in the court!" the Judge demanded, hitting his gavel to gain their attention. The manager, still in shock, didn't expect this sort of turnabout. "Now, will somebody tell me what's the meaning of this?"
"Your Honor, my name is Ephraim La Vaes, I am Eirika's older twin brother and I have proof of our lineage!" Ephraim declared, authoritatively as Tana happily handed him a small file to her husband. "These documents will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that we are of royalty from a foreign land, as my sister stated and that this farce of a court hearing will cease!"
"Ephraim? When did he get here?" Kurai blinked, confused as Tana happily waved at her friends.
"I thought they can't access the Portal." Akira pondered.
"Is Portal card acting funny?" Mikoto said, looking at her Portal card.
"No… I think it's active now." Melissa noticed.
"You mean… they did it?" Storm got out, surprised. "Lyon and the other kids did it?"
"That's the only thing I could think of…" Kurai muttered.
Seeing this opportunity, Pheonix immediately stood up, saying, "Your Honor, I would like to have Mr. Ephraim take the stand and testify!"
"W-What?" The Judge said surprised.
"But my cross examination with Mrs. Kururugi isn't done yet!" Mr. Payne exclaimed.
"I said, let him testify! Let him reinforce his sister's claim!" Phoenix said before doing his signature point. "Right here! Right now!"
'We might have a chance to win this…' Maya thought to herself. 'Looks like Nick can stand on his own now, sis. You don't have to worry about him anymore…'
As the sun set, the female manager walked out from the entrance… with handcuffs on her wrists As the guards tried to lead her to the police van to escort her to prison, the media tried to interview her, worsening her condition and her mood just got more sour than ever.
"Boy, that's the weirdest case I've ever handled…" Phoenix sighed. "This is why I need to make a thorough investigation and you hid this from me, Kurogasa…"
"Sorry…" He laughed sheepishly. "I should've been more straightforward with you. But I had to keep my wife's identity a secret for a reason. Who knows what would've happened if word got out that she's royalty. The scandals will never end."
"Well, the secret's already out, and I bet the media would love to make news about this now." Phoenix said. "But, boy, to think she'd fall in love with you at first sight during her sightings in Tokyo? That's pretty rare… and you ended up marrying her, too, during her long stay."
"Ehehe…" Kurogasa sweat dropped.
"Thank you so much Mr. Wright." Eirika said as she approached him, Maya, and Pearl, along with the rest of the former Riders, Ephraim, and Tana. "We couldn't have done this without you."
"It's nothing, really. We just got lucky, that's all." Phoenix said. "If it weren't for your brother's timely appearance, I think it'd be you the one that will be sent to prison, Mrs. Kururugi. But I'm glad I got the not guilty verdict for you."
"And that would be the last time we'd be hearing from that woman." Ephraim added, as the police car escorted her away from the view and the media went after the car.
"C'mon, Nick! I'm hungry! You promised you'd buy me a burger!" Maya huffed.
"Even though you're the head of Kurain family, you're still carefree on things, Maya…" Phoenix sighed.
"Still, you promised Mr. Nick! She's your special someone!" Pearl chirped happily.
"HAAAAAH?!" Phoenix gawked, blushing heavily.
"My, my. How cute." Melissa giggled.
"W-Well, in any case, I should get going. I don't want to hear them complaining about food before going back to LA."
"Actually…" Ephraim got out. "About that. Before you go, I think it's okay if we let you in on our little secret."
"Are you sure Ephraim?" Tana looked at her husband curiously.
"It's fine. After all, he did a fine job defending my sister. It's only fair that he's well compensated." Ephraim nodded before turning to Phoenix. "You can bring your friends too."
"Where are we going?" Maya asked.
"To a place that is hidden from society. My kingdom." Ephraim offered.
"Oh~, sounds like an adventure!" Pearl chirped happily.
"The country that you mentioned earlier in court?" Phoenix got out.
"The one and the same." he nodded.
"In the meantime, I'll lead my best friend back to her Manor via shortcut!" Tana grinned happily, flashing her Portal card in hand.
"Home! Home!" Kyoshiro chirped happily in Kurogasa's arms.
"I am totally at a loss right now…" Phoenix sweat dropped.
"Well, as long as there's adventure in it, I'm all in!" Maya grinned, dragging Phoenix's arm happily. "C'mon, Nick! Don't just stand there and do nothing!"
As Ephraim led the lawyer and his assistants to a nearby door, Tana looked at Lyon's parents, having a slight concerned look on her face. "Um… Eirika? As soon as we get back to the Manor, don't… panic, alright?"
"Panic? What do you mean?" Storm asked.
"Did something happen to my son?!" Eirika panicked, due to her mood swing.
"Ugh… you just had to say it." Kurai facepalmed.
*STOMP!*
"ITEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
"I didn't mean to, you big meanie!" Tana huffed, able to keep the files in her arms in check.
"Calm down, Eirika…" Melissa comforted. "I'm sure there will be explanations."
"But, Mother-"
"I know you're worried for Lyon, sis. Everyone is." Amber consoled. "Let's just listen to what those kids have to say and think this through, alright? We don't wanna the baby to be shocked…"
"Okay…" Eirika got out.
"What in the-!" Phoenix's voice rang out.
"What is this?!" Maya shouted in awe.
"Coooooooool!" Pearl perked up happily.
"It looks like they're surprised, hm?" Melissa giggled, as Tana approached a nearby janitor door.
"C'mon, you guys! Let's go home already!" Tana chirped.
"Is… that so?" Eirika gasped lightly, as she, Kurogasa, the rest of the Former Riders, Seth and Knoll discussed what happened after they've checked up on Lyon's condition. Even Ephraim was present after finishing treating his guests back at Renais while Tana tended to Lyon by changing his shirt to make him comfortable during his comatose.
"Yes, Lady Eirika." Knoll nodded. "Our Prince Lyon somehow appeared within your son and managed to defeat Jaishin-14 completely, including the Tomb of Albino Joker."
"And this burned buckle is proof, Queen Eirika." Seth informed, showing the charred remains of the Blade Buckle and Blay Rouzer. "Duessel would say the same thing, but due to his current condition, he won't be up for the next few days, according to Father Moulder."
"Lyon…" Eirika said, as she sobbed a bit, covering her mouth. "All this time, you've been in our son."
"Always being the guardian angel for both of us…" Ephraim muttered, as Kurogasa wrapped his right arm around Eirika lightly, lending her a shoulder to cry on. "That dastard… always looking out for us, even after his passing…"
"As shocking as it is, it is still unbelievable for us to witness His Highness again…" Knoll added.
"And, my son said Lyon thanked both of us… for being his friends…" Ephraim added, lowering his head further. His body is visibly shaken from Kurogasa's view, as Kurogasa can tell he's holding back his tears.
"…" Kurogasa remained silent, not knowing how to respond to his words. The only way he could think of is letting his free arm hold Ephraim's shoulder, giving him the strength he needed.
End Flashback
"Ever since then, things have been back to normal." Father finished.
"Yeah… I'm glad it's all over." I said before we finally arrived at the supermarket.
"Now, where did I put that grocery list…?" Father said, looking in his pocket as we got out of the car. Then, he muttered, "Crap."
"What's wrong, Father?"
"I lost it…" he sweatdropped. "The grocery list your mom wanted…"
…
…
…
…
"…You what?"
"H-Hey, don't look at me like that, son!" Father stammered. "I kinda lost it it at work!"
"Right… you misplaced it." I rolled my eyes.
"I-It's not my fault I'm getting old, Lyon! Sooner or later, even you forget things, like that time where you forgot to bring the wedding ring on your wedding day!" Father reminded me, making me blush now.
"S-Shut up! That was on accident!"
Flashback - 2 years ago
"Oh man, where is it?!" I panicked frantically while in my tuxedo, searching my pockets.
"Something the matter, Lyon?" Ajax asked, fixing his bow tie at the mirror. "Why are you panicking?"
"Yes, you should be happy that today's your wedding day." Maximus added, putting the folded handkerchief on his front pocket. "Both Ajax and I have been through ours. As a royal family member, it's tradition in Magvel that we princes' get married first before others, including your older sisters. Therefore, it is your turn to be wed."
"That's not why I'm panicking! I can't find the ring!"
"YOU WHAT?!" Ajax and Maximus shouted in disbelief.
"Goodness… how can you miscalculate on that? It is your most important day, Lyon." Castor sighed.
"And you blow it by losing your wedding ring? Not on my watch!" Leo perked up. "Alright, boys! Let's find that ring before time runs out!" with Leo commanding us, my cousins, Castor and I nodded, as we started to search all over the place.
"Lyon~, you forgot something, honey." a motherly voice got out, as the door opened up, revealing my parents, my four-year-old little brother, Kyoshiro and my newest family member, a 2 year old little sister named Yukina, in Mother's arms. My little sister is dressed in frilly white dress with a cute rabbit stitches on it, a white Alice Band with rabbit ears on her head and a little highlight of blush on her puffy cheeks. "Lyon?"
"Where is it?! Where is it?!" I panicked, checking under the chair, still unaware of my family's presence.
"What big brother doing, Mommy?" Kyoshiro asked.
"I don't know, dear…" Mother muttered.
"Oh, Aunt Eirika.' Ajax got out, noticing her appearance.
"You look beautiful today, Aunt Eirika." Maximus complimented, seeing her attire of a formal red dress with a white long skirt.
"Thank you, Maximus. That's so nice of you." Mother smiled as Father approached me and tapped my shoulder.
"Hey, son. What are you doing? Lost your contact lens again?" Father asked, surprising me.
"Gah! Ite!" I cringed, ended up having my head hit on the edge of the table. As I rubbed it, I whined, "Don't do that, Father!"
"Uh… sorry? It wasn't on purpose." he added with a sweatdrop.
"Oh man, this is bad! I can't find the ring!"
"Um… Lyon?" Mother spoke up.
"GAH! What do I do?! What do I do?!" I panicked, scratching my head frantically. "I can't cancel the wedding now! Not at a time like this!"
"Lyon?" Mother repeated, having a little sweat drop.
"He's not listening..." Father sweat dropped too.
"I can't let it happen! After all of the planning, there's no way I'll turn my back on it! Uncle Joshua and Uncle Ephraim went through great lengths, just for this wedding!"
"LYON!" Ajax and Maximus shouted.
"WHAT?!" I suddenly snapped, glaring at my cousins.
"Here, dear." Mother presented me… the wedding ring?! "You left it in your room, so I picked it up for you after dressing your little brother nicely for your wedding."
There was a moment of silence… until my heavy blush came to me. "Mommy! Big brother blushing!" Kyoshiro chirped happily, as my little sister smiled happily seeing my face.
"Bwader! Bwushy!" she chirped while flailing her arms happily, making Mother giggle.
"That's right, Yukina. Your big brother is being forgetful again." Mother told her.
"Oh, Lyon… why must unfortunate events happen to you?" Maximus sighed.
"Hm, according to my calculations, supposedly, as people get older, the activity inside a human's brain will function less. But after what I saw, it shows that even though Ajax and Maximus are a year older than Lyon and myself, he's the one that showed these symptoms…" Castor analyzed, getting to his usual mood. "Humans tend to reach different outcomes from what researchers recorded in their results… how profounding."
"You're not making me feel better…" I groaned, slumping my shoulders.
"Well, if you kids don't mind, is it okay to leave us alone?" Father asked. "We'd like to have a private chat with our son."
"As you wish, Uncle Kurogasa." Ajax nodded.
"Take your time, Lyon. We'll be waiting outside." Maximus said before my cousins, Leo and Castor leaves the room, as Mother gently put Yukina down, as my little sister stood on her two feet.
"Nervous, son?" Father asked me, as Mother helped me fix my bowtie.
"How could I not?" I sighed. "I'm getting cold feet already."
"Hey no worries, I was like that when I was marrying your mom." Father said. "Of course, all the fancy clothes your Aunt L'Arachel made didn't help either. I felt like I was suffocating."
"Truly, anata? I thought you looked rather ravishing on our wedding day." Mother teased, making Father slightly blush.
"Yes I know, but other than that, the clothes were tight and heavy since I wore a crown, carried the Blay Rouzer at my side, the whole nine yards." Father sighed.
"Is that the reason why you don't let me wear them, despite Mother's protest?" I asked. "I mean, I have the same figure as yours, and I'm already used to wearing royalty clothing, thanks to Mother's heritage."
"Look, the point is, wedding clothes aside, you're going to be fine." Father said. "There's no reason to get nervous."
"I guess…"
"Let me ask you something. You love Metis, right?"
"Of course I do."
"And you're going to make her the happiest woman she can ever be, right?"
"Yes."
"Then there you go. You got nothing to worry about."
"Your Father's right, dear." Mother smiled motherly. "And he kept his words to make my life peaceful with all of his efforts. I'm sure Metis would have the same feeling I had once she is married."
"How are you certain?"
"Call it a mother's intuition." she added, combing my hair neatly with her gentle hand.
"C'mon, it's rude for a groom to make his soon-to-be wife wait for you." Father told me.
"We'll be waiting for you at the chapel, my son." Mother added, kissing my forehead.
"Bwader! Kissy! Kissy!" Yukina chirped, looking at me while stretching her arms up high and puckering her lips. I couldn't help but chuckle at that before I gave her a kiss to the forehead. With a little giggle, she pecked my left cheek cutely while Kyoshiro pecked my right cheek happily.
Metis les out a deep sigh, feeling very nervous about her wedding. She looked into the mirror as she wore the same dress that Eirika wore at her wedding. "Metis, are you worried?"
"Yes… I am, Mother…" Metis sighed. "I think the pressure gets the best of me."
"It's okay to be nervous." Natasha smiled gently. "I was like that too when I was marrying your Father. Of course, my nervousness went away when your Father almost tripped while making his way down the aisle with me."
"Natasha, I was hoping you wouldn't mention it to our lass…" Joshua sighed, as both mother and daughter lets out a small fit of giggle. "But you do have an embarrassing memory of your own too, y'know?"
"J-Joshua! Y-You wouldn't dare!" Natasha panicked slightly, blushing.
"Huh?" Metis tilted her head, confused. "Truly, Father?"
"Aye, listen, lass." Joshua looked at his daughter. "When Father Moulder asked your mother to accept me as her wedded husband, she was still so nervous, she accidentally bit her tongue, making minor chaos in front of the crowd."
"J-Joshua!"
*STOMP!*
"OW!" Joshua cringed, hopping on one foot.
"I-I was still a bit nervous, even after seeing you trip!" she defended herself, still having the same blush on her face.
"An eye for an eye, Natasha." Joshua kept his grin. Both parents noticed Metis actually giggling, seeing her parents arguing about their embarrassing moments during their wedding. "Metis, I just hope your wedding doesn't ended up like ours."
"Don't worry. I promise it won't happen." Metis smiled.
"Good lass, now come on. We got a wedding to get to." Joshua smirked.
"I'll be at the chapel, my dear." Natasha added, kissing her daughter's forehead before closing the veil for her. "Your Father will escort you to your soon-to-be husband. All I can do is give you small advice: It's alright to be nervous a little bit, because in the end it would be all worth it."
"Yes, Mother. I'll remember that." Metis nodded, as mother and daughter shared one last hug.
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, this is really nerve-wracking.
"Lyon relax, you'll be fine." Ajax whispered as he stood next to me at the side of at the altar as my best man.
"Indeed." Castor nodded. "Because after this, all of us would experience what you will experienced, Lyon."
"Don't be such a worrywart and get your screws tightened up already!" Leo grinned, assuring me with his usual playfulness and slapped my back hard, making me cringe.
"Yeah, okay, noted…" I muttered.
Meanwhile, at the front row, Colm leaned forward to Kurogasa, whispering, "Heh, your kid's nearly wetting his pants, just like you back in the day, Kurogasa."
"Oi, this is different." Kurogasa hissed, before looking at his left. "And Kizuna, stop taking pictures, save it for the reception."
"Oh c'mon, I got to capture every moment, Dad!" She winked, making Kurogasa roll his eyes.
"Nee-san, you do know you tend to go overkill, right?" Nee-chan looked at her sister, deadpanned. "Especially if Lyon-chan is involved…"
"Mommy, what wetting pants?" Yukina asked her mother curiously.
"Oh dear…" Mother sweat dropped.
"Well, it means-" Aunt Tana tries to explain, only to be stopped by Uncle Ephraim.
"Tana, now's not the appropriate time." Uncle Ephraim stopped her.
As nervous as I was right now, all of my cousins and friends comforted me with their smiles. As I looked at the Best Maid side, Aunt Marisa was there at the very front, since I already expected that she's very close to Mei-chan. Even Themis, Arty and Diana were there, smiling at me to comfort me. When I looked at the seats, most of Mei-chan's friends were in their seats in the back row, including the Elder Cleric. There was even Takuya and Makoto, the latter practically bawling since I'm marrying Mei-chan and Takuya had to keep restraining him.
As soon as the music started playing, I startled, surprised from the sudden music is being played before focusing my attention to the large doors, as everyone did the same and stood up. The doors slowly opened up, revealing Mei-chan in her wedding dress, alongside my soon-to-be Father-in-law, Uncle Joshua, in his formal royal Jehanna clothing, escorting her. With my little brother happily leading the group while throwing rose petals in his path, Mei-chan and Uncle Joshua slowly approached toward the chapel, making me nervous a bit more.
"Oh my… she looks lovely in my old wedding dress…" Mother whispered to Father.
"Yeah, sure brings back memories huh Eirika." Father whispered back, as she giggled lightly.
Uncle Joshua and Mei-chan walked in sync slowly and with each step they took, getting closer and closer to the altar, I was getting more nervous, but then I felt a hand placed on my shoulder. I slightly turned my head and my eyes widened a bit, seeing Midas of all people, giving me a thumbs up with his causal grin that I remembered before quickly disappearing after. I blinked in surprise and before I knew it, Mei-chan and Uncle Joshua were already at the altar. With one last peck on her forehead, Uncle Joshua handed her daughter's hand to me, as I helped her to stand next to me as he sat back at his throne, with Aunt Natasha by his side.
"Are you… nervous, Lyon?" Mei-chan whispered shyly.
"A little, what about you?" I whispered.
"I'm the same, but… not anymore with you by my side…" she whispered back, as I can see her smile behind her veil. "Why didn't you wear your father's wedding uniform? You looked rather dashing in it during our wedding rehearsal…"
"Ehehe… let's just say Father did some convincing…" I whispered sheepishly.
"A pity…" she mumbled quietly with a blush on her face. I can even hear her mumbling, "You looked truly handsome in it…"
"Kinda too late for me to change in the middle of all this." I muttered.
"Dearly beloved," Father Moulder began. "We've gathered here today to join two people in the bond of Holy Matrimony. Marriage is truly sacred, one that celebrates the joining of two souls into one. It is a bond not to be entered into selfishly and prideful, but meekly and humbly by both parties; so they form a near perfect union of two hearts. If there is any reason that these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace." No one dared to say or do anything. That is… until Jason, who played the organ, and yes, he did play the organ, accidentally hit a key on the organ with his elbow, and everyone laughed at that.
"Sorry!" he waved defensively, while blushing in embarrassment. "The Jabber won't make that mistake again!"
"Honestly, my brother would always butt in inconveniently…" Diana sighed.
"Oh c'mon, don't be like that on your brother, Diana." Nee-chan giggled. "It's part of his charm and I like it."
"And I can't believe there's actually someone that would stand up to him." Diana sighed once more. With a smile on her face, she added, "Well, as long as my little brother's happy, so will I."
"Er–hem." Father Moulder said, continuing on with the ceremony. "Continuing on… Metis, Princess of Jehanna. Would you take Lyon to be your lawful beloved husband?"
"I do…" she replied.
"And Lyon Kururugi, Prince of Renais. Will you take Metis to be your lawful beloved wife?"
"For all eternity." I smiled gently.
"Do you two have the rings?" He asked. Both nodded as they looked towards the ring bearer who happened to be my little sister having it.
"Alright, honey. Go to your big brother now." Mother taught gently, as Yukina stood up and waddled toward our direction. When that happened, I can hear "Awww~~!" from Mei-chan's friends and especially Aunt Tana.
"She's just so cute!" Aunt Tana gushed out. "Especially those rabbit ears she's wearing!"
"Big Bwader! Mommy shaid give wing to Big Bwader and Big Shishter!" Yukina perked, happily presenting the rings on small rabbit pillow she held in her arms to us.
"Thank you Yukina." Mei-chan smiled before she took my ring and I took Mei-chan's. After that, Yukina waddled back to Mother.
"You may know say your vows." Father Moulder said and the two of us looked at each other.
"I, Lyon Kururugi, take you Metis, to be my beloved wife. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part. With this ring, I wed thee." I then placed the ring on her finger. It was now her turn.
"Princess Metis, now it's your turn." Father Moulder gestured fatherly, as Mei-chan looked at me with her smile.
"I, Metis, take you Lyon Kururugi to be my beloved husband. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part. With this ring, I wed thee." She then placed the ring on my finger.
"Let these rings be given and received as a token of your affection, sincerity, and fidelity to one another." Father Moulder declared. "In as much as they have consented together in wedlock and have witnessed the same before this company, and pledged their vows to each other, by the authority vested in me by the Kingdom of Renais and Jehanna, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride!"
With that, I flipped over Mei-chan's veil to see her beautiful face. We embraced each other lovingly and kissed passionately.
The entire congregation leapt to their feet, clapped and cheered happily as we sealed our vows with a kiss, both of our parents cried happily as our friends looked on happily. Takuya had to restrain Makoto from doing something silly again, but despite all of that, this was my moment with Mei-chan, and we cherished it always.
End Flashback
"Those were good times…" I sighed, as Father pickred up a few meat packages in large chucks and put it on the shopping cart.
"Right, meat, done." Father said, ticking it on his phone, as Mother sent another grocery list via e-mail. "Next… diapers. Lots and lots of diapers."
"I know, Father…" I sighed. "I was hoping Yukina would be potty trained this year, so we can actually asked Mother to buy her new underwear and not keep looking for diapers with rabbit patterns on it. Honestly, if there's no rabbit on it, Yukina would be pouting for hours, not wanting to wear any diapers that doesn't have rabbits on it…"
"What can I say? She's picky." Father laughed.
"No kidding…" I sweat dropped. "I'll go get them. You get the other stuff."
"Don't forget to get your siblings some candy along the way, Lyon. They might crave for one after running around the Manor all day." Father told me.
"Right…" I sighed again before going to the baby's section to get huge pack of diapers. When I got there, I found the package that had rabbits on it and just as I was about to get it-
*RIIIIIIIIIING! RIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!*
Hm? I wonder who that could be?
["Hello, is this Lyon Kururugi?"]
"Uh… yes, who is this?" I asked uncertain.
["Ah good, I called the right number. This is Mr. Fuyuki, the director that held the Kamen Rider audition."]
"Oh, uh… what can I do for you?" I asked surprised.
["Well, it just so happens that the winner of our audition had simply lied about his age, therefore, not qualified to be the leading Kamen Rider but becoming a Secondary Rider instead. As I learned you're the son of Kurogasa Kururugi, and you have fit the criterias needed to lead the show, I was wondering if you are willing to become the leading hero for our next installment of Kamen Rider after Kamen Rider W.I.N.G. is over on early October?"] he offered.
…
…
…
…
"EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!"
["Oh, I'm sorry if it surprised you, young man. Maybe you would like to think it over?"]
"Oh, no, no! I'd be more than happy to be the lead hero! You got yourself a deal!"
["Splendid! Be sure to come to our office on Friday, so we can fill in the documents needed and discuss about your salary."]
"I will! Thank you sir!" I shouted happily before ending the call. "WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I DID IT! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I cheered like a lunatic, jumping and down, making everyone in the supermarket notice me.
"Huh, is that so?" Father raised his eyebrow, blinking in surprise after the commotion in the supermarket and we drove home with the groceries in the back of the car. "I was just about to call him, but I guess he beat me to it. Talk about lucky, son."
"I know, Father! I'm just so excited about working there!"
"Excited or not, watch your speed limit…" he sweat dropped. "I know you want to tell her the good news, but drive carefully, son! You don't wanna make your mom worry about you again, like five years ago…"
Oh, that's right! I almost forgot about what happened after we returned home and I just got up from my coma…
Flashback - Five years ago, a month after the victory over Jaishin-14
As I was able to gather my thoughts, the very first thing that came to my mind was-!
"Mei-chan…"
"Huh?" Father asked confused.
"Mei-chan… where is she? I want to see her…"
"Wow, lad, you truly are something."
Another voice was heard, as Uncle Joshua was leaning against the door, looking at me. "Worrying about my lass after awakened from your coma. You truly are something..."
"Uncle Joshua..." I muttered, as Father helped me sit on the bed."What… how's Mei-chan? Is… is she okay?"
"Hm…" Uncle Joshua pondered, thinking playfully. "Why don't you try asking her yourself, lad?"
"Huh?"
"Natasha, bring her in." Uncle Joshua gestured gently, as Aunt Natasha pushed a wheelchair and, there she was…
"Lyon..." Mei-chan gasped lightly.
"I heard the story from Ajax, lad." Uncle Joshua added. "After my daughter went through a life-threatening situation, the healers and doctors said she won't be able to walk for nearly a year and she'd be on a wheelchair for the time being."
"Oh…" I muttered, as I lowered my head, remembering something. "Then… does that mean…?"
"You won't get my blessing…" Uncle Joshua added, making me sad. "…under normal circumstances."
"Father?" Mei-chan blinked, seeing her Father with his playful smile. Even Aunt Natasha was smiling, much to her daughter's confusion. "Mother?"
"Despite all of that, I was more than happy to have you ask for my daughter's hand. Deal or no deal." he grinned, making me silent. "That's right. Right from the get go, I'd be happy to have you of all people, Lyon, to be a part of my family."
…
…
…
"EHHHHH-" I gawked, only to have a fit of cough from it, as Father eased me up by rubbing on my back.
"Oh, Joshua… you and your playfulness." Aunt Natasha giggled lightly.
"Does that mean…" Mei-chan asked.
"Yes, your parents have discussed it with us, Metis." Mother smiled.
"And we'd be more than happy to accept you as part of our family, too." Father added.
"But first, you have to complete your studies, Lyon." Aunt Natasha told me. "That is a part of the deal that we've discussed."
"Aye, so now, the important part of them all." Uncle Joshua said, as he pushed the wheelchair close to my bed, as Mei-chan is on a verge of crying. "Ask her, lad. Even without the engagement ring."
I was really surprised, from all of these things that has happened to me. All in all, as I gathered my thoughts while looking at Mei-chan, the only words that escaped my mouth was…
"Mei-chan… will you marry me?"
"…yes." Mei-chan accepted, tears flowing out from her eyes. "I do, Lyon."
End Flashback
As soon as we reached home, Father held all of the groceries and I opened the door for him, only to be tackled down by my young siblings.
"Onii-chan~!" both of them squealed happily, as I sat up and looked at my younger siblings. My younger brother is wore an indigo shirt with 'W.I.N.G.' written at the front and khaki shorts while my four-year-old little sister wore a white fluffy blouse with a teal blue skirt, a rabbit diaper underneath it and has the same white Alice Band with rabbit ears on it, resembling a certain character from an anime. She even had a small rabbit-shaped pouch to store her candies and other stuff.
"Onii-chan, candies!" Yukina chirped. "Rabbit candies!"
"Yeah, okay, but… you two gotta get off me first…" I wheezed. But the two playfully shook their heads, much to my chargin as Father chuckled looking at their antics.
"Candy!" both of them said in unison.
"Alright, you kids. Let your big brother go. I have the candies for you two." Father assured, as the two immediately got up and ran into the Manor happily. "Those two always get you, huh?"
"You have no idea…" I grumbled before we went in the house.
"Oh, welcome home." Father-in-law greeted. "You forgot your list at work, Kurogasa." he added, showing him the list that Father left, making him cringe. "If it weren't for me to stop by at your shop, I don't know how Amber will try to recall all of the things you needed to buy."
"Duly noted…" Father sighed.
"Welcome home Lyon." Mei-chan greeted as she approached me from the kitchen, wearing an apron and a kerchief on her head.
"Did you buy all of the groceries, Lyon?" Mother-in-law asked, as she held my three-month-old son in her arms.
"Honestly, anata. I can't believe you left it at work…" Mother sighed, also holding my three-month-old daughter in her arms.
Oh, just so to let you know, three months ago, Mei-chan gave birth to a fraternal twins, naming them Suzaku and Sakura Kururugi, in that order. Both Mother and Mother-in-law were finally happy to be grandmothers to my children before they've reached 50.
"Mei-chan, are you sure you're supposed to cook right now?" I asked worriedly. "I mean, you just gave birth to our children and you're barely able to walk… we have the maids to do the cooking, y'know?"
"I'm fine, anata." Mei-chan assured. "There's always a chair for me to sit if I get too tired."
"Aye, lad. She has her father's strong will, after all." Father-in-law assured.
"Onii-chan, shhhhhhh!" Yukina shushed me cutely. "Mommies said babies are sleeping!"
"Wow, she sure shut you up." Father sweat dropped.
"Hehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…" I sighed.
"Anyways, I guess we're all good for the huge family dinner?" Father-in-law asked.
"Yes." Mother-in-law nodded. "Even Marisa is joining us with Kyle."
"Heh, I can't believe that woman. Who would've thought she'd eventually got married after seeing our lass wed?" Father-in-law chuckled. "Not to mention she's a klutz other than killing and tend to have that sour look on her face, too."
"Yeah, I can't believe it either, but as long as she's happy, I am too." I smiled a bit.
"Oh, speaking of which, how did the audition go, Lyon?" Mother asked me, as Father gave my siblings the candies he promised. "Did everything went well?"
"Did you get a role?" Mei-chan asked me.
"Onii-chan is superhero?" Kyoshiro looked at me with glee.
I smiled widely at that, "Does my smile answer your question?"
Yukina gasped happily, shouting, "Onii-chan is superhero!"
"That's wonderful, anata! Congratulations!" Mei-chan smiled.
"Yeah, you should've seen him getting kicked out of the supermarket by the security guard after that hectic scream in there earlier today." Father teased, making me blush.
"F-Father!" I snapped.
"Hahaha… typical Lyon." Father-in-law laughed happily.
As night came by, many of our friends came to visit the Manor for the huge dinner we had. Much like before, the night was festive as it was every year and everyone's having a good time. "Having a good time, little bro?" Nee-san chirped, happily hugging me on the back.
"Oi, Nee-san, you really need to stop doing that." I sighed.
"But I can't! I love ya too much for that~!"
"Of course you do…" I sweat dropped. "Even after you got married to Marcus, you still act the same way…"
"And he doesn't mind at all!" she chirped.
"A-At least she still loves you." Elsie stuttered.
"Ehe~ Lyon-niichan is blushing." Sakura-chan chirped.
"Urusai!" I stammered.
"Heh… some things never change." Ryu sighed.
"Of course not, but we like that anyways." Toby added.
Meanwhile, Father and Aunt Lute played chess during their free time and moments later. "Checkmate." Aunt Lute declared without even looking away from her book. "That makes 315 wins over 325 matches, Kurogasa."
"Hmph, you still got a lot of things to learn when it comes to tactics." Uncle Innes said bluntly. "I can't believe you fell for the same moves like before."
"Hmmmmm… maybe Melissa-senpai should play." Father said mischievously.
"Unfortunately, Sister Melissa isn't a big fan of chess." she replied. "And you're starting to make excuses after your defeat again, Kurogasa."
"Aye, Lute. You should have seen how I beat him again in card games." Father-in-law teased him, adding insult to injury.
"You keep on cheating, that's what!" He snapped.
"Me? Cheat? Why I never." Father-in-law said, mockingly hurt.
"Okay, now you're just pissing me off…" He grumbled, crossing his arms.
"Lad, I prefer to call it as a gamble." he countered.
"That goes to show you can still be stubborn, Kurogasa." Uncle Innes pointed out.
"Well now, since you're in a mood, care for a rematch?" Aunt Lute offered.
"Mmmmmmmmmm…" Father pouted.
"Come now, Lute, no need to antagonize him." Uncle Artur said.
"I didn't antagonize him. He just can't accept the fact that I'm just a supreme genius." Aunt Lute pointed out.
"Wow… bashful as always…" I sweat dropped.
"My, my being high and mighty again?" Melissa-sensei 'smiled'.
"S-Sister Melissa, I-I just couldn't help it!" Aunt Lute said suddenly being defensive.
"Hehehehehehehehehehehe… taste your own medicine, Lute." Father snickered.
"Tee hee… looks like they're having fun, aren't they, Lyon?" Aunt Tana asked me happily.
"Yeah, they sure are." I smiled gently.
"Aunty Risa!" Yukina chirped.
"Yes?" Aunt Marisa asked.
"When will baby come out?" Yukina asked with glee.
"Three more months." Aunt Marisa said kindly, rubbing her swelling stomach.
"What did the doctors say, Marisa?" Mei-chan asked, as my children are looking at her quietly on each of her arms.
"It's going to be a girl." Uncle Kyle added. "And Marisa was ecstatic of having a girl."
"Yukina decided!" Yukina added. "Yukina will be besh friend with Aunty Risa's baby!"
"Oh dear…" Mei-chan gasped slightly, surprised by the claim.
Aunt Marisa couldn't help but let out a smile, patting her head lightly and said, "I'm sure both of you would be good friends."
"Looks like Yukina would be getting her new best friend, ne, Lyon-chan?" Nee-chan asked me.
"Yeah. She just has to wait three more months." I chuckled. "And sometimes she's not one for patience."
After the huge dinner party we had, most of everyone went back to Magvel. "Lyon, why don't you go rest for the night? Metis is already in your room." Mother added.
"But what about these plates and dishes?" I asked.
"The maids will take care of it." Mother-in-law added.
"And the sleeping Yukina and Kyoshiro?"
"Your Father will handle it." Mother added.
"Go now, Metis is waiting for you." Mother-in-law assured me.
"Yes, dear." Mother nodded, as she approached to me and pecked my forehead. "Goodnight, Lyon."
"Goodnight Mother." I said before I went up the stairs and into my room.
As I entered my room, I noticed that Mei-chan, in her sleeping gown and wearing her reading glasses, doing some typing on her laptop, as my children were sleeping next to our bedside. "And… done."
"What are you doing, Mei-chan?" I asked her, leaning and hugging her from behind.
"Oh, Lyon!" she gasped. "It's nothing. I was just finished typing the remaining part of the story. The publisher and editor wanted me to send it to them by next week through Aunt Amber."
"Oh…" I added, looking at the story she typed in.
"What do you think?" she asked, leaning a bit to my side. "It's about our quest in Magvel, but with minor changes on it, especially the characters' name and kingdom."
"Heh, heh, right." I chuckled. "The media will have a field day if they find out that it's all true."
"Yes." she giggled as she saved her document. "Finally, my storytelling is finished. From Father-in-law's beginnings to our final battle, it's all done and written."
"Heh, when this book is published, you bet that I'm going to be the one that will be your first reader, Mei-chan."
"I'm sure you will... " she giggled. "Now, carry me."
"Eh?"
"Carry me, anata." she teased me. "All of that hard work and cooking had tired out my legs. I do need a good, strong man to carry me to bed, so I can accompany him for the night."
"You don't have to ask for that." I smiled before I carried her bridal style.
"Kyaa!" She squeaked cutely, as I picked her up.
BGM: Secret Garden OST - My Guardian Angel
"Have I ever told you you sound so cute when you squeak?" I teased back, as she poked my cheek lightly with a slight blush on her face.
"You teaser." she said, as I gently put her down on the bed and I followed suit, in which she rested on my chest. "Lyon?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you happy… with this life we shared together now?" she asked, looking at me curiously.
"Of course, why would you ask that?" I asked confused.
"Because I just want you to know that I love you… from the bottom of my heart." she confessed cutely, as both of us leaned to one another and kissed gently. "Just one more thing I have to ponder..."
"What is it, Mei-chan?"
"What should I name the book?" she asked me, resting her head back on my chest. "I tried to come up with a title, but none of them would fit our story…"
"You're really gonna ask me that?" I smirked playfully.
"Of course. You are the main character in my book, anata." she replied playfully. "Your opinion matters, after all. You're my husband and a real hero to Magvel."
"Hm…" I pondered, thinking about it deeply. "I can only think of one thing, Mei-chan."
"What is it?"
"I think we should call it…"
