Substitution

By: Aviantei

It's easy,
he whispers.
Silence suffers;
substitute sound.

Synergize symphonies,
signal these citizen's lives.
But I know
if I fail they suffer,
if I fail they die.

Cities shouldn't rest on sinner's shoulders.
Murder should not condone
inheritance.

But I am the symbol,
this sentence seeping silently,
and I wonder:

Was this the world you wanted me to see?

[Author's Notes]

Another poem from my Master's program, where the goal was to use sound in a poem. Since Kitaniji's a snake, I went for the hissing. Also for angsty Yoshiya? Take this as you will.

Thanks to TrimusicaDrag00n90 for your favorite!

If you want more of my interpretation of Yoshiya (which I can't guarantee won't be angsty at some point), my multi-chapter TWEWY fic Muse is now ongoing as part of [Shibuya Operation - Story Storm].

More poems to come in the upcoming year. Please look forward to it!
