Very short but it's something to get me started

Bella continues to stare at the ceiling, her eyes moving in and out of focus as she wills herself to fall asleep. A sigh escapes through her lips as her mind replays the events of the long day and glancing to her left she squints at the 2:33 a.m. time being displayed. Rose is back in Forks, she knows this because she received a text from Alice five hours ago stating so. Bella doesn't know why she didn't rush at the first chance to see her girlfriend but she didn't, and now sitting awake in her bed she's regretting the decision.

Reaching over to grab her cell phone the brunette scrolls through her contacts until she lands on Rosalie's name and she hesitates as her thumb hovers over the call button. Shaking her head Bella changes her mind opting to send a late text message instead.

I'm on my way

Alice is waiting outside of the Hale house when Bella arrives, the normally energetic pixie appears exhausted but a small smile decorates her features as her eyes land on Bella.

"Sorry." Bella speaks sheepishly "I didn't think you'd be asleep"

"It's fine" the pixie rolls her eyes "I knew you'd come eventually."

Bella chuckles "Of course you did." The two girls stand in silence; the taller girl attempting to steady her nerves and the other patiently waiting for the go ahead. "Okay, I'm ready."

Taking a deep breath Bella gently taps on the blondes' bedroom door, her heart beating loudly in her chest. A few seconds go by without any movement from the other side of the door and continuing to hold her breath the brunette knocks louder. This time Bella can hear sounds from inside and she waits for her girlfriend to open the door.

Rosalie opens the door, with a pair of shorts and one of Bella's t-shirts on, and their eyes connect as they instantly become locked in a stare down. Instead of saying sorry because she knows it won't change what Rosalie has been through, instead of saying it's okay because she knows that it won't help, instead of doing what a natural instinct would be; Bella gazes into her girlfriends eyes and says the one thing she knows that they both need, something that probably should have been said before. The one thing she knows she can't take back.

"I love you."

Three gasps are heard in the hall.
