I own nothing. Enjoy!
Area-A:(Undisclosed Area): One Week Later.
It had been a full week since the massive Falseroid had attacked Yuki's home. The repairs had gone smoothly and all of plants had begun to bloom again.
The peace and quiet however, didn't last very long.
The white armored Yuki narrowly avoided a yellow-green crescent that flew past, splitting a tree in half with an explosion of green herself, she grabbed the hilt of her sword with both hands and began sending her own waves of energy back towards her attacker. A pained groan was heard as a red clad Aile was sent flying by the attack. She landed on the ground with a loud thud, and proceeded to lie there breathing heavily. Yuki disengaged her armor and flopped down beside Aile.
"B-brother," Aile managed through her inhales, "How many does that make now?"
The Live-metal pondered for a moment, trying to finish the calculation was made a bit harder due to O's position as Aile's heart, he was just as exhausted as she was.
If I figured it right Aile, we lost, we lost hard.
Aile rolled to her side and groaned as her armor dissipated. They had been training for days, and she still couldn't beat Yuki.
"Don't get too down Aile," Yuki said in a soothing tone, "You are coming along a lot faster than I expected, you almost had me on that last one."
After the Falseroid attack, Yuki had begun to train Aile to control her power better. She had taught her how to use O's Override attacks, albeit weaker versions of them, and she even managed to teacher how to control the Armed Beasts for a limited time. She thought Aile would have taken longer, given her state of mind, but she was pleasantly surprised.
"Mom told me that its rude to lie to friends Yuki." Aile said while turning to give her friend the most half-hearted glare that anyone had ever seen. This caused Yuki to fall into a laughing fit, with Aile following shortly after.
"No I'm serious, if that last attack had connected, it would have been game over for me." Yuki stated as she started to stand up and brush herself off. "If X-w hadn't screamed at me to move, I would have been the one to hit the ground first."
I did't scream at you, I was merely warning you of a bad situation that you were to slow to see by yourself.
The Live-Metal in question had materialized and began to float away in a huff, which only caused the girls to fall victim to another fit of giggles.
Yuki held her hand out to Aile which she took graciously as she steadied her stance, still a little sore from the impact.
"I'm a little tired Yuki, I'm going to let O take over for a while." Aile said after shuffling forward a bit. Yuki shrugged in response, it didn't bother her who had the control of the body, as long as she still got to look at Aile.
She watched as Aile went through the short transformation of O sliding into control.
"Man, Aile fell away a lot faster today, you need to go easy on her for a while, I don't want her falling ill because of you." The Live-Metal said as she placed her hands on her hips and gave Yuki a slight scowl.
"You have nothing to worry about O, I have no intention of wrecking the poor girl, she still has much that she needs to do." Yuki stated simply as she began to walk away. "I'm just making sure that she survives to see the end of it all."
The two walked the path to Yuki's house in silence, neither had anything they needed to say, so they were content with the peace that the quiet brought.
When they entered the entrance hall however, O suddenly became plagued with a question that had slipped his mind until now.
"Yuki..." she began uncertainly. The other girl looked back and waited for the question she saw coming, one that she wasn't sure she was ready to answer.
"What is this place, every time I have a question that is of some kind of importance, I forget it almost instantly, it didn't bug me at first, but now its starting to piss me off."
Yuki blinked in surprise, that wan't the question she had expected. She sighed inwardly.
"This place, my dear Omega, is a sanctuary created long ago to help the wounded and dying forget their troubles until they recovered, or passed on in peace." She spread her arms for emphasis. "All stressful thoughts and memories are dulled out so that the person is in a state of peace while waiting for their fate."
"Then why do I know that memories are missing."
"It must be your internal systems," Yuki shrugged, "You notice the random bits of data that make up your thoughts becoming encrypted, but can't remember the original data, so you let it slide, or you would have, until it began to happen more often and you begin to feel as if large portions of your life are missing."
"So, why do I even notice at all, shouldn't I be in a state of bliss that would block out a negative thought such as that?"
Yuki once again shrugged, "Live-Metals are essentially living computers, you would notice data missing more than your standard human or relpiroid."
"That makes sense I guess." O sat down on a seat near the end of the entrance hall, her face scrunching up as she sat in deep thought. After a few moments, O jumped to her feet with a look of triumph.
"What is it Omega?" Yuki asked genuinely curious.
"Now that I know what was wrong with my brain, I managed to de-crypt a few of the files, and now I'm slowly retrieving most of my recent memory."
Yuki tensed as she watched Aile's face take on a confused look, which slowly grew into one of irritation as she looked at Yuki.
"Yuki, you are going to answer my questions, no more stupid tricks to keep me from asking." O began to advance angrily. "I want you to answer me truthfully." She now stood directly in front of Yuki, almost seething. "To begin, why have you been keeping us here for so long."
Yuki held her ground as she stared into the ancient eyes looking back at her.
"No need to be angry, I was simply keeping you so that the two of you would be ready for the trials ahead, to insure your survival." She looked away from Aile, no matter how brave she acted, those eyes still pierced her like knives.
The timeless eyes of a monster.
"I just simply was having too much fun and lost track of time."
O let out a slow breath in an attempt to calm down. "Next question, why do you call me Omega instead of O." the anger was gone from her voice, but not from her stance or eyes.
"That is your name, nothing more nothing less." Yuki replied bluntly. She took a few steps away from the Live-Metal, she new what was next, and wanted to be far away if the situation turned hostile.
O saw the girl's demeanor change, and decided to get to the question.
"Who am I?"
"I cannot tell you that."
O slumped and let out an annoyed sigh. "Why not?"
Yuki shook her head, "It is not my place to tell you, even if I wanted to." She took hold of Aile's hands and looked her in the eyes. "Believe me, if I could, I would have told you both a long time ago to spare you the pain that will come with the knowledge."
O nodded solemnly and walked away a few steps to think.
"However..."
O looked at the girl, wondering what more she would have to say about such a secretive topic.
"No one said I couldn't influence you to go were you might be able to find such information.
O gaped at the girl, she would never cease to surprise him.
"Were is the data Yuki?" O asked softly.
Yuki reached back and pulled a small device out of her pocket and handed it to Aile, a smile on her face. "That device will show you the way to where your past lies."
O looked at the circular machine in his hand. "Thank you Yuki, this means more than you." She looked up to see a sad look cross Yuki's face. "What is it?"
"You will be leaving soon, can I please say goodbye to Aile for now?"
O nodded as the transformation began, soon the regular colored Aile stood before her, yawning slightly. When she saw Yuki, she smiled.
"Hi Yuki, what's up?" Yuki didn't answer, she simply moved forward and wrapped Aile in a big hug.
"You have a new mission Aile, I just wanted to say goodbye for now." She slowly stepped back and turned to walk away, waving behind her.
"Don't worry Yuki, I'll make sure to come back in one piece next time." Aile said while smiling largely.
Yuki turned back, raised her hand and snapped, causing Aile to vanish in a ball of light.
"I really hope so Aile."
Area-Z:(Command Center)
Prairie was confused, she had been worried sick about Aile for a week, and then suddenly the main monitor turns on with a white haired girl on the feed telling her that Aile had been with her and was now on a new mission. Then, before she could ask any questions, the screen turned off, leaving Prairie and X alone in the command center.
It wasn't long until X began to chuckle softly.
Yes Prairie, she is quite attractive isn't she.
"Shut up X."
Area-L:(Research Center)
Aile blew through yet another galleon in her path. It had been at least 30 minutes since Yuki sent her to this place, from what O had told her of the mission, she thought this would be a great challenge, but she soon became disappointed.
"Big Brother, when is the fun going to start?"
O laughed to himself at his sister's annoyance. " No clue, but we should be close to the end by now, maybe there will be a decent boss in this area for you to test your new powers against."
Aile grinned at O's words, it didn't last long however. The enemies might not be any challenge, but she still had to be careful, the terrain demanded full attention.
A thought struck her.
"Hey Brother, what were those giant buildings a few areas back?"
Those giant cylindrical things, those were Data Containment Chambers.
Aile stopped mid-stride, confusion crossing her face.
"Then why aren't we checking those instead of having to deal with more of Serpents Army?"
O sighed. Because the device is telling us the data we need it is not in those DCCs, its further ahead. Think about it strategically for a second Aile, why would Serpent be completely ignoring the outer are and ravage this place. Obviously there is some important data he's after in this area and he is prepared to get his hands on it, no matter the cost.
Realization dawned on Aile's face as she began to run again. "What would I ever do without you Brother." Lets hope we never have to find out.
Area-L:(Research Center):Central Storage.
Aile stood there in confusion as the door slid shut behind her. She had hoped to find an amazing boss to kill, but all she saw was a pile of scrap filling the area.
"Does the device say anything about this?"
O scanned the area in confusion. It says the data is here, but there are no DCCs to check. Maybe Serpent got to it first.
Aile looked down disappointed. "Sorry Brother, I guess we wont know who you are." She slumped down on a piece of rubble to rest.
No Aile, I'm sorry for leading you on a wild goose chase for something probably insignificant. Maybe we should head back to the guardian base and...forget...about...
"What is it Brother?" Aile asked in a worried tone, O has never been at a loss for words in all her life, it scared her to think about what had caught his attention.
Aile, I'm getting massive readings from this area, we need to...
What happened next can only be described as the entire room coming to life.
Aile was flung away as the scrap unfurled into things akin to arms and tentacles. Red, robotic eyes covered the mass in random areas and varying sizes. The central mass then began to slowly rise from the ground. It looked like the massive face of a metal monster rising from the ground. Its cold monstrous eyes completely contrasted the serene almost human white face that made up the front of the body.
Large wings protruded from the back of its head, the were bone white with orange veins pulsing through them. A cavity opened up in the center of the face, out of which protruded a muscle-like substance that expanded and lifted high into the air. When i reached its maximum height, it opened like a flower to reveal blue circuitry with red veins. In the center was a robotic, female form with pale skin and green glowing hair that flowed down her back.
Her angelic appearance was broken by her large circular red eye that sent glowing lines around the left side of her face.
She smiled when she saw Aile lying on the ground staring at her in fear. Aile gulped, that smile was one of the most frightening things she had seen.
I am the Keeper. I have watched over the Data in this place for eons, now I am awakened to find the data under attack and some frightened whelp staring at...
The Massive machine flinched back as a large shot ripped through several arms and tentacles. The girl stood before her, smoking buster in hand, an intense glare across her features. "Don't insult my sister like that you miserable pile of trash."
O's breath stuck in her throat as she slipped into the familiar penetrating cold of the O.I.S. She began to charge her buster for the next attack, this time she would aim for the head.
The Keeper growled as she scanned the small girl in front of her. The child was going beyond human performance standards. For the first time in her endless life, she came up blank.
Who are you child, my mind blanks when I scan you. That is impossible, I am all data in the world, nothing hides from me.
O took aim, but right when she was about to release the trigger the Keeper asked an unexpected question.
What is your name?
O was confused but decided to answer. "I am Live-Metal Model O, anything else before I kill you for scaring my sister?" O growled.
That name means nothing to me, tell me your true name before I destroy YOU for defying me.
O was confused, he had given his name, what else could there be, a serial number, a secret code, what.
Then he remembered
"Next question, why do you call me Omega instead of O."
"That is your name, nothing more nothing less."
O looked up at the Keeper, realization dawning on him.
"My name is...Omega"
OMEGA...That is a name that has meaning for me, unfortunately the meaning is that I have to destroy you.
Before O could react, several tendrils launched themselves at her, sending her flying towards a wall. When she finally touched ground again, blood sloshed out of her mouth. She corrected herself and sent a large wave of green energy at the appendages, destroying them instantly. The Keeper roared.
The mouth on the lower face began to open with a creaking roar. A plethora of small missiles began to fire from the gaping maw.
O dodged some and sliced through the rest, and when She saw an opening, she launched forward and jammed the O-Knuckle into the center of the launching mechanism in the mouth.
"Fallen Star!"
Large beams of light began to burst from the face, It began to twist and bend until finally it ruptured in a massive dome of blinding light, O watched through the attack as the Keeper began to dissolve with a metallic cry.
Once the commotion had calmed, O stood there, Override slipping away as She began to relax. Large pieces of metal were still falling as she made her way toward the main body that had fallen several yards away.
When she reached the body she bent down and turned the head to face her. Surprisingly, it was still functioning.
Y-Y-You Ha-ave n-not won. The Keeper said as coolant leaked from her mouth.
"Who am I?" O asked bluntly. This thing recognized him, he was going to get answers. He did not have time for anymore of this things crap.
You are an anomaly that must be studied, you will become one with the data.
In the back of O's mind he thought that it was weird that it spoke coherently, and even before the full meaning of those words hit him, it was to late.
Several large tendrils and arms grabbed at her, completely encasing her in a small cocoon. Try as she might, she couldn't break free.
The next thing frightened her, she began to feel a tingling sensation throughout her body as a strange liquid seeped onto her from opening holes in her cage.
"What is this stuff?" O roared at the Keeper from inside her prison.
The Keeper let out a cold, emotionless laugh.
This is a special acid that will dissolve you until there is nothing left, I will then absorb the liquid and obtain all of the data on you as I will rebuild and resume my vigil of this place.
O gasped as the tendrils tightened. He was going to die, more importantly Aile was going to die. He had let her down, he wasn't fit to be her brother. He felt an intense rage that had never been there before. He imagined Aile's shocked face as death crept closer, which made him even more angry.
He then blacked out from the pain and the anger.
The Keeper laughed again, it would soon be done, and she would repair herself. As she began to drag herself to her parts, she felt something.
She felt pain.
She looked back and saw the cocoon was bulging with light and energy.
Now She felt scared.
The cocoon burst as the ball of light began to expand in size until it was almost bursting out of the ceiling of the enormous room.
The light began to take shape and change color, Reds, Blues, and Silvers began to show themselves as the shapes began to finalize. In one hand sat a colossal sword that could destroy anything in its way. In the other was an enormous cannon that could eat worlds away.
In the center was a pair of eyes filled with hate that made Hellfire seem cold.
The mighty being brought its blade up above its head, slicing the roof apart in the process, and the brought it down with extreme prejudice.
The Keeper felt cold, and then, nothing.
The being exploded into light once again, all that remained was a girl who lay unconscious on the ground.
Suddenly a woman appeared next to the girl and proceeded to pick her up gently.
"Come on kids, time to go home."
I hope you have enjoyed! This is a surprise, but I didn't write this chapter. My brother insisted on writing it, because he created the boss of the area that took Protectous' place. Do not worry, I will be writing the rest of the chapters. Because he won't let me read it until it is posted, I really have nothing else to say.
Have a nice day!
