Hello everyone.

First let me start with an apology:- I AM SOOOOO SORRY. I have certainly not abandoned this fic.

My computer crashed and it was only until now that I was able to get it fixed so happy days are back again. This chapter is a little short but good.

I own nothing.

They had found him. He had been right under their noses all this time. Now the tricky part was going to be how to get him alone and obtain the sample they needed. Looking at the clock on the wall as he dialled the memorised number he felt relief that their quest was almost over.

Blaine had been at the dojo all day. He had woken up with that feeling he had had when he had been in Arizona and Kurt had almost been raped by that sleaze which had him wondering if Adam was in New York or something. But Kurt was hanging out with Finn, having some brother time so he was trying not to get too worked up, to relax. He had come to the dojo he had discovered when he had first come to New York to tour the NYU campus. He tried to come at least once a week but sometimes two maybe three weeks would pass before he could make time to come.

Sensei Honokawa reminded him of Mr Miyagi and always seemed to know when he just needed to blow off steam and when he needed counsel. He had been practicing karate for twelve years and judo for nearly five. He had become interested in karate when he had seen an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger as a kid and like any boy his age he had been fascinated by the fight scenes. Blaine had nagged his mother for weeks until she finally gave in and signed both he and Cooper up for lessons. Copper had quit after a year but Blaine had stuck with it and had earned his black belt at age sixteen.

Blaine bowed to his sparing partner and got off the mat. What was wrong with him? The feeling of foreboding wasn't going away. He decided he would call Kurt as soon as he was showered and changed.

Adam did not know why he had decided to come to New York. Why it was he felt the need to visit this tourist riddled, crowded city before going to Yale. Adam looked out of the taxi's window. Maybe he could use this as a farewell trip, put everything behind him and move on.

Graduation had been tense with all the glares being directed at him. He had wanted to talk to Kurt, to apologise again but he had never been alone, not even for a minute. He had been stunned, shocked and a little angry to see Blaine Anderson with Kurt and the way they had acted he knew something was going on with them but then again he had seen something happening between them since they met. He hadn't stuck around after the ceremony and had left for dinner with his family.

If Adam was honest with himself he had really started falling for Kurt. Unlike his previous relationships he had tried to be faithful and had even been successful. At the time he had tried to rationalize the reason for this as being serious about his future and investing in a stable profitable relationship, which had been true in a sense but not the whole truth. Hindsight and a clear mind had shown him that Kurt had not been playing or testing him but for whatever reason he had panicked. Adam was regretful that he had gone that far but what had really shocked him was Kurt calling for Blaine.

He had seen the attraction between the two after only a few hours and maybe that was what had pushed him to the edge because after nearly half a year, Kurt had had yet to look at him the way he had looked at Blaine at his birthday party.

Adam had thought about calling Kurt over the past couple months but every time the thought entered his head Noah Puckerman's and Finn Hudson's voices immediately followed, their threats echoing in his mind.

Adam watched as Finn calmly sat down on one of the white Lafayette sofas and unconsciously touched his neck. Although both men looked calm their eyes said something else.

"So..."

Finn's voice made Adam flinch as if he had been grabbed again, which made him slightly irritated. He was the son of a known politician for crying or loud. Why was he scared of two, all be it big and muscular, men? Well one had already hit him once and that was enough right?

Wrong. Those eyes, especially Finn's, said they would willingly kill him and not regret it, so he stayed silent instead of trying to explain his way out of the situation like he would normally have done.

"So Adam. Can you tell me why it is that I am here holding myself back from killing you?"

Puck reached out from where he was standing behind Finn and put a restraining hand on his best friend's shoulder.

"From today, the second we are done here, I don't want to see you, hear you, smell you. I don't want to hear about you and I definitely don't want you anywhere near Kurt. If you so much as try to contact my little brother I will find you and I WILL make you regret it."

Adam did not doubt it and the pure menace accompanying that threat made Finn's words resonate all the more deeply. Kurt had told him once that Finn had learned karate until he was fifteen which had helped him with focus and concentration and haf even helped him on yhe football field. Puckerman on the other had was streetsmart and there was no doubt, from the evil smirk gracing his lips, that he would kick the shit out of him as well.

"Now Mr Crawford are these terms and conditions clear and understandable to you or do you need a demonstration?"

Adam could see that Puck was only too willing to 'demonstrate'.

"Ah no...Everything is clear, thank you."

"Good."

Even though Finn had smiled, his eyes were like glaciers and at that moment Adam knew he had escaped something life-threatening, but just barely. Kurt had come out of the bedroom, fully dressed, packed and ready to go, at that moment and without another word, a glance even, they had all left Adam in the suite.

Dusk painted the sky with its pinks and purples. The taxi made its way onto West St after coming off the I78, then onto Canal St heading towards 6th Avenue, Central Park and the New York Hilton Midtown where Adam would be staying. Adam suddenly sat up straighter in the back seat. Surely he had seen wrong just now. Surely.

"Stop the car!"

The startled taxi driver pulled over to the side of the road.

"Everything alright boy?"

Without giving a reply, Adam jumped from the taxi and ran across the road to the intersection they had just passed. A car's tail-lights were just disappearing around the corner. He had seen wrong. He had to have seen wrong. But his gut was telling him his eyes had not deceived him. Adam had just seen Kurt, or someone who looked very much like him, being forced into a car.

Things are heating up in New York...
