I don't own Harry Potter or Fairy Tail at all

A/N: here's another idea I am working on. It's a HP/FT crossover, my second crossover story I've ever really done. I want you all to note that I have changed many things from the Fairy tail canon to fit this. I've done my best to keep things as much the same as I can, mostly keeping character's personalities like they are in their canon, but might tweak them to fit my writing. This will be mostly be a Harry Potter story with Fairy Tail added in for a different flavor.

Potter of Fairy Tail

By: Sheltie

In the wreckage of Godric's Hollow a baby cried out. Two figures came upon the scene.

"Look at this place" the first figure, who was in a long dark over coat, said as they looked around.

"Yeah, it's a real mess" the second, who was in armor, said surveying things too.

"Come on, we better check for any survivors" the first said.

They moved in with speed finding nothing til they made their way upstairs to what appeared to be a nursery though given the explosion that seemed to went off in their it didn't look much like a nursery any more. In the crib was a baby crying.

"He the only one?" the second asked.

"Yes, the other two are dead" the first said. "Damn, we came too late" they said with a growled.

"We best go, who knows who'll show up" the second said.

With that they left as a man that was quite big came upon the scene.

/Scene Break/

The two figures brought the baby back to their headquarters, a place called Fairy Tail. It was actually a wizard guild. But not the kinds of wizards that Harry and his kind was, but different ones. They learned different kinds of magic unknown to Harry's world. Fairy Tail was actually in the city called Magnolia, which was in the sovereign Kingdom of Fiore. A realm with the population of 17 million.

"Master, we've returned" the second said.

"Hm, Erza, Gildarts. Good, good" the master said. He was a man of short stature, but he held great power. He carried a staff and had white hair and mustache.

A woman with white hair came from behind the bar. She was Mirajane Strauss. She took the baby Erza was holding and cradled it.

"Oh my, he's such a cutie" she cooed.

"Tell me what happened?" the master asked.

"The place was a wreck. We searched the place, but they were both dead. The baby was the only one alive, but he's injured" Gildarts said.

"Mm, let me see" the master said.

The white-haired woman showed where baby was injured. On his forehead was a jagged lightning bolt shaped cut.

"That scar has dark magic infested in it. We best take care of that as quickly as we can" the master said seriously.

He then looked at the white-haired woman and saw how she was holding the baby.

"Do you want to adopt him, Mira?" he asked.

"Can I master?" Mirajane asked with hope in her voice.

"I don't see why not. I'll get the paperwork all set up and let the magic council know" the master said.

"Thank you master" Mirajane said.

The master just nodded and sighed. So much work to do.

The baby was actually Harry Potter. The Potters have been long time friends with the Fairy Tail guild and James Potter, Harry's father, had asked Fairy Tail to take care of Harry if something ever happened to him and his wife. Makarov, guild master of Fairy Tail, agreed.

/Scene Break/

Young Harry Potter-Strauss had a different upbringing than most kids his age. Or even a wizard really. Growing up in Fairy Tail would do that to you. There really wasn't a quiet day at the guild. There was always noise and some kind of excitement really. That was an over-load of stimulation for an infant. He didn't have a normal set of parents really since Fairy Tail seemed to have a motto of never doing anything normal. Everyone in the guild loved Harry and he loved them all. This was his home.

Mirajane was able to adopt him and he had the last name of Strauss added on. Mirajane didn't want Harry to lose his birth name, but wanted him to have a connection to his new family. The magic council was quite helpful due to having a supporter there. They handled everything.

The girls in the guild seeing Harry's green eyes cooed and knew he'd be a lady-killer when he got older. Some of the guys felt left out since all the females in the guild always paid Harry so much attention.

So Harry grew up in a very loving environment, not to mention a loud raucous one too. There was never a dull nor a quiet moment in Fairy Tail. Harry thought of all the members of the guild as aunts and uncles. He had a mom, Mirajane, but just aunts and uncles after that. Master Makarov was placed a grandpa, and the guild master enjoyed his role as that.

At the moment two men were fighting. One had pink hair and was wearing a vest, scarf and pants while the other was just in his boxers.

"You got something to say pinkie?" the boxer wearing man growled.

"Yeah I do you icy perv" the pink-haired man shouted ready to bring his fists into the equation.

"THAT'S ENOUGH, YOU'RE SETTING A BAD EXAMPLE FOR HARRY!" Erza shouted.

The two she was yelling were named Natsu and Gray. Hearing Erza's shout made them freeze.

Five-year-old Harry blinked as he was sitting next to him was Mirajane. She smiled sweetly at Harry. Harry smiled right back. They had been in the middle of a reading lesson when Gray and Natsu began fighting. No one really paid much attention to how it started since everyone knew how it would end up. A big fight. Erza however didn't want Gray and Natsu to fight since it was disrupting Harry's lessons. And she didn't want her pseudo-nephew's education ruined by two idiots.

"You will stop your fighting, understood?" Erza asked sternly.

"AYE!" Natsu and Gray said automatically not wanting to face Erza's wrath.

"Good, now back to your lesson Harry" Erza said in a now nicer, calmer voice.

"The stripper started it" Natsu mumbled.

"You're the one who started it pyro brain" Gray said.

"You two are so setting a bad example for Harry" Cana said as she chugged down a barrel of beer.

Natsu and Gray just looked at her.

/Scene Break/

As Harry grew he learned magic, he learned the magic his pseudo-relatives used. He first picked up his aunt Erza's magic called Knight where Harry could use the magic Requip just like Erza does. And that meant Harry could change his outfits/armor quickly. Erza was so happy with that and she bought Harry's first armor. It was basically an identical match to her usual armor she always wears though in a male style. She also helped trained Harry in swordsmanship and how to use his other armors that she got for him whenever she felt like it, which was often.

He also picked up other Fairy Tail members magic like Gray's ice-make magic though thankfully didn't pick up the habit of stripping like the ice-maker mage. Much to the relief of Mirajane and pretty much all the females in the guild. They had one guild member who liked to strip their clothes at random times. They didn't need another.

Harry also picked up Natsu's dragon slayer magic, but not as strong as Natsu's. Not to mention Harry's flames seemed to come out a dazzling emerald green and not the usual red and orange. Natsu actually ate some of Harry's fire and it super-charged the dragon slayer. There was a general agreement not to have Natsu eat any of Harry's fire since it cost a lot to repair the guild after the first time. Harry felt bad about it and so did Natsu. They were both punished for their actions with the both of them having to help rebuild the guild.

Gray and Natsu's rivalry extend thanks to this. They both began fighting for time to teach Harry their magic.

"It's my turn to train Harry, Flame Brain" Gray said.

"Nu-huh, it's my turn Ice Princess" Natsu said.

"Pink Puff" Gray taunted.

"Slushy brain" Natsu retorted.

Their anger was about to overflow and that always led to them fighting. Thankfully they weren't in the guild and outside.

Harry sat there waiting patiently since he was used to uncle Gray and uncle Natsu fight.

Mirajane was pleased with her son getting all of these magics though was a bit sad that Harry hadn't learned how to do her Take-Over magic. But she held her belief that Harry will get it sooner or later. Mainly since Harry didn't know the word quit.

Also during this time Harry began to learn to use his magic and unlike the wizards in Magical Britain and other places he just thought of what he wanted to do and his magic did it. What he didn't know was he was using wandless magic which was very rare and quite unknown in Magical Britain. Harry didn't grow up with the handicap of needing a wand to do magic like most of Magical Britain.

/Scene Break/

It didn't take long for Harry to go on missions for Fairy Tail. Though he was always accompanied by a member of his Fairy Tail family. He didn't mind it too much. As long as they didn't baby him too much, which they didn't. He always pulled his load on the mission.

During those missions he actually picked up a nickname of the Merlin of Fairy Tail. Even in Sovereign Kingdom of Fiore they knew who Merlin was though that was more of a story that they had heard from Magical Britain.

/Scene Break/

Harry sighed as he laid back resting. An owl came flying in and presented him a letter. Harry blinked. He took the letter from the owl and opened it. He then read it and a frown marred his face.

Now Harry knew who his birth parents and everything. Mirajane told him when she felt he was the right age, which was when Harry started taking on mission for Fairy Tail. Harry didn't know how to feel about this, but his mom told him something that raised his spirit.

"You may not be my son by birth Harry, but I love you just the same. I know your birth parents loved very much. Don't forget that. They gave their lives to protect you" Mirajane said.

"I love you too, mom. I believe you when you tell me my birth parents loved me. But you're my mom now and that won't change no matter what" Harry said.

Mirajane had tears in her eyes as she pulled Harry into a hug.

After that he found more about his heritage as a wizard from Britain. That he actually learned different magic then in Magical Britain. Harry was surprised by this. He also learned about his fame he had and just shook his head at how he was famous for something he didn't even remember. He learned a lot about Magical Britain thanks to books he got. His aunt Levy was really pleased that Harry liked to read.

With a deep sigh he carried the letter to the guild hall. The hall was as loud as it usually was. He greeted his fellow guild mates/family and made his way to the bar where is mom was working.

"Hi Harry, what do you have there?" Mirajane asked smiling.

"I got my Hogwarts letter" Harry said.

Mirajane froze, her smile vanished.

"Oh" she said quietly.

The rest of the guild hall seemed to have heard this too and it got quiet.

"Yeah, do I have to go though?" Harry asked with a frown.

Mirajane let out a deep sigh. She knew this day had been coming for a while.

"I want you to stay here too, but you have to go to Hogwarts. It's what your birth parents would've wanted" Mirajane said though it seemed to hurt her saying this.

Harry hated seeing his mom like this so he walked over around the bar and hugged her. Mirajane hugged Harry tightly.

/Scene Break/

11 years later

Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore sat on his golden throne looking like the serene all powerful and all-knowing ruler. Though his realm was actually a school, Hogwarts to be exact. He was anxiously awaiting for this crop of first years since he knew this year would be when Harry Potter would come. He was quite upset that he had lost Harry on that fateful night. His ever-loyal servant Hagrid reported to him that Harry was gone and there wasn't a trace of him.

So the years went by and Dumbledore did his best to look for Harry, but couldn't any sign of him. So he had to bide his time. But soon, very soon all the plans he had for Harry would be put into action. Oh yes, he couldn't wait. He had to stop himself from hunching over and grinning as rubbed his hands together like some kind of corny villain. It was a tough thing to do. Maybe if he grew a different kind of mustache then he could twirl it. Hmm, that's an idea.

Names were called for the first years to come up and be sorted into their houses. But when the last name was called there an uneasiness as it appeared Harry Potter wasn't there. That unease broke when the tall wooden doors that was at the entrance of the Great Hall burst open and a figure stood there. He had a brown traveling cloak on with the hood up. He was carrying a duffel on his back.

"Sorry I am late, but I lost track of time" the figure said.

They then removed their hood and gasps were heard. Everyone in the hall seemed to know who it was. That person was Harry Potter. His green eyes shined bright as his unruly black hair stuck out every which way. Underneath his cloak he wore armor and black pants. He walked towards the head of the hall and bowed to the staff table.

"I'm Harry Potter-Strauss" he said.

Whispers were abound hearing the name.

"Mr. Potter-Strauss, where are your robes?" an old witch asked.

"Robes?" Harry asked confused.

"Yes, all first years must wear their school robes" the witch said.

"I, um forgot. I don't have any of my school supplies to be honest. I've been busy on missions" Harry said sheepishly.

Murmurs were buzzing about this.

"I see, Mr. Potter-Strauss, you'll get your school supplies before classes start" the witch said.

"Thank you ma'am" Harry said bowing his head.

"You must be sorted now, Mr. Potter-Strauss" an older witch said.

Harry nodded. He sat on the stool and the witch put the hat on his head.

"Oh my, what a noggin' you got here. I've never seen anything like it. Learned magic from the Sovereign Kingdom of Fiore. I see, mmm-hmmm. Yes" the voice in Harry's head said.

"Um excuse me, but who are you?" Harry asked.

"Oh sorry Mr. Potter-Strauss, I am the sorting hat. I will be the one that'll pick what house you'll be going in" the sorting hat.

"Oh, okay" Harry said.

"Yes, now back to the sorting. You've got loyalty that Helga would've adored, you're brains would make you a special one and Rowena would've loved to pick on, you've got cunning and ambition for Slytherin that would make Salazar weep. And your courage would make GodricHel proud" the sorting hat said.

Harry just waited patiently.

"GRYFFINDOR!" the hat shouted out.

From one table there was great cheer as two out of the other three clapped politely. The fourth table was quiet.

Harry pulled the hat off and was about to head for the table when he stopped when he saw something in the hat. He blinked and pulled it out.

"Mr. Potter-Strauss that is the Sword of Gryffindor. The sword Godric himself wielded in battle. You possess the skill to wield it so Hogwarts has decided to give it to you" the hat said.

"Thanks" Harry said as he examined the sword and did some practice swings with it before storing it away.

The whole hall had watched the entire thing. They were shocked to seeing the fame Sword of Gryffindor and Harry Potter got it. Then there was the magic Harry used since no one has ever seen that kind of magic before.

Harry walked and found a seat at Gryffindor table.

Dumbledore stood and began the feast.

Harry looked at the food around him and sighed. This wasn't the kind of food he was used to having. He then called a house elf since he read about them. He whispered into the elf's ear and the elf bobbed its head and then popped away. Harry's dish was changed into food he was used to eating at Fairy Tail.

Many of his new house mates looked at him oddly.

"Hello, my name is Stephanie Waltz, I am Gryffindor's fifth year Prefect" a girl with short brown hair and blue eyes said.

"Nice to meet you, I am Harry Potter-Strauss" Harry said.

"Strauss?" Stephanie asked confused.

"Yeah, my mother is Mirajane Strauss" Harry said.

"But isn't your mother Lily Potter?" one asked.

"Yes, she was my birth mother. But Mirajane adopted me and became my mother and she raised me so she's my mother" Harry said.

The rest of the meal went by and Harry was polite with answering questions, but didn't give anything away. So his new house mates really didn't know a whole a lot about one Harry Potter-Strauss. Harry kept his ears peeled listening to everything and anything. He learned it was good way to gather information when in a new place.

"Mr. Potter-Strauss?" the stern witch asked.

"Yes ma'am" Harry said.

"I am professor McGonagall, I am your head of house and Deputy Headmistress. If you'll meet me in my office after breakfast tomorrow then we can go and get you your supplies" McGonagall said.

"Alright ma'am" Harry said.

/Scene Break/

Harry followed his new house to the Gryffindor tower and once inside and finding where he'd be sleeping he began to take out items that he had with him from his duffel. He set out a picture that got his dorm mates' attention.

"Who are all the hot girls there?" a dark colored boy named Dean asked.

"Those are all my aunts, except that one. She's my mom" Harry said pointing to a young woman with long white hair with an arm wrapped around Harry's shoulder.

"That's your mom, man she's hot" a boy with an Irish accent whose name was Seamus said with a whistle.

Harry ignored this since he was used to guys ogling his mom. Just when they got grabby or crossed any other line Harry took action.

"Requip" Harry said and then in a bright flash of magical light he changed into his pajamas.

"What the bloody hell was that?" a redhead named Ron asked.

"I just used my magic to change for bed" Harry said like it was an everyday thing, which it was for him.

"There's no kind of magic like that" Ron said ignorantly.

"And how do you know that?" Harry asked.

"Because there isn't any kind of magic like that" Ron said.

"Hate to burst your delusional bubble, but you just saw me use it. So there is. The world is full of different kinds of magic than what's taught here in Magical Britain" Harry said.

Ron grumbled then went to get changed for bed while the other boys in the dorm were thoughtful. Harry sighed and got into bed and closed the drapes and used his magic to give him privacy. He then pulled out a communication lacrima and activated it.

"Oh hello Harry, did you make it to Hogwarts alright?" Mirajane asked.

"I did mom" Harry said with a smile.

"That's good" Mirajane said.

Harry then told her all about what has happened though it was only his first night. They then said goodnight and Harry went to bed.

/Scene Break/

Dumbledore sat in his office displeased with these new events. Harry had come, but he wasn't the pliant boy he needed. No, he had this air of confidence and that wouldn't do. He needed to do something to break that. Plus there was this Strauss thing. He had never heard of the Strauss family and he was sure he knew quite a few old families even if they were prominent. But he had no clue abut Strauss.

Then there was the fact that his deputy deflected him. He had wanted Harry go get his school supplies with Hagrid since he knew Hagrid would do his job in manipulating the boy without even knowing it. Also this gave Dumbledore an in with Harry too. But no McGonagall put the kibosh on that.

"I am fully within my right as Deputy Headmistress to do this, Albus" McGonagall said firmly.

He then tried to read Harry's mind, but found nothing. Well, not really nothing. Just he couldn't get through at all. He knew he couldn't push too hard without getting Harry's attention. But this worried him. Someone taught Harry Occlumency. That wasn't good. He cleared the entire Hogwarts library of that information so he could access any student's mind when he felt like it.

Sure, he knew there were some old families that taught their children the art of protecting ones mind, but they were very few and their shields not strong enough to prevent him from entering.

But Harry's was the best secured mind he'd see in a first year ever.

What Dumbledore didn't know was Harry didn't actually learn Occlumency, but it was a special form of meditation. That helped him calm and focus his mind. It also had the side-effect of creating mental shields to protect his mind from mental intrusion.

/Scene Break/

The next day Harry woke up and got ready before most of his dorm mates woke up. He then headed downstairs and headed out for breakfast. He remembered his way from last night and got to the Great Hall without getting lost. He found that the hall wasn't occupied much. Harry went to the Gryffindor table and began to eat. He had an elf change his food to what he liked. He ate ignoring the looks he was getting. He was wearing his armor without his traveling cloak on. So everyone in the hall could see Harry in his armor.

After eating he went to McGonagall who was sitting eating.

"Excuse me professor, where is your office?" Harry asked.

"Oh excuse me Mr. Potter-Strauss. I forgot to tell you last night. Let me finish eating then we'll go" McGonagall said.

"Okay professor" Harry said.

After waiting for a little while Harry and McGonagall left the hall and headed ton her office. From there they used the floo in her office and they landed in the Leaky Cauldron. From there they headed out back with McGonagall using her wand to open the entrance to Diagon Alley.

"Welcome to Diagon Alley Mr. Potter-Strauss" McGonagall said.

Harry's eyes darted back and forth taking it all in. McGonagall took notice of this and also noticed that Harry's eyes weren't the wide eyes of a first year or a new muggle-born, but of someone wise in their young years taking everything to understand their new surroundings. She was curious about this.

"We best go to Gringotts where you can get some money first" McGonagall said.

"I got money professor" Harry said.

"Most likely not our currency Mr. Potter-Strauss" McGonagall said.

"You mean like Galleons, Sickles and Knuts" Harry said.

McGonagall just nodded.

"I got them, Fiore has a Gringotts branch there. In fact several in different cities. I have two vaults there. One my Potter, which is the trust vault my birth parents set up for me and the other is Strauss, the one my mom set up for me so I can store the money I made on missions in" Harry said. "I got money out before I got here so I'd be ready if I needed to buy something."

What Harry didn't say was he got one of Gringotts money bags where all he had to do was put his hand in the bag think of how much he wanted and it would appear in the bag for him to grab. When he put money in it'll disappear and be put into his vault. Harry had two money bags one tied to the Strauss vault and the other tied to the Potter one.

McGonagall was surprised. She was truly surprised. She had heard of the Sovereign Kingdom of Fiore, but never been there. There was a lot of very powerful wards surrounding the kingdom and it was hard to invade let alone get to since no one knew the exact location.

"Very well, then we should start at Madam Malkin's for your robes" the professor said.

Harry followed McGonagall and entered the shop. Harry was then measured and got his order in. They then left to pick up the order later. Harry went to get his potion supplies as well as books. McGonagall helped out in that endeavor with books and smiled as she saw how much Harry liked books. It reminded her of his mother, Lily. They then headed back to Malkin's and got his robes. The last stop was getting Harry a wand.

This made Harry sigh.

"Is something wrong Mr. Potter-Strauss?" McGonagall asked.

"Well professor, it's just that I've been able to use magic for a long while. I can do magic without a wand really" Harry said.

"You can?" McGonagall asked surprised.

"Yeah, I even learned magic from my aunts and uncles" Harry said.

During the shopping trip Harry told McGonagall about his life growing up in Fiore. He felt he trusted McGonagall and told her stuff. McGonagall could sense the trust Harry put in her and felt good that Harry trusted her and vowed to herself to never lose that trust.

"So you can do magic without a wand?" McGonagall asked.

"Yeah" Harry said.

Then he used Requip and summoned a sword to his hand. McGonagall raised an eyebrow at this.

"This is called Requip. My aunt Erza has a special kind of Requip magic called Knight. She can instantly change her armor and weapons faster than any one who uses Requip magic. I seem to have the same kind of Requip magic as my aunt Erza so I can change my clothes and call out any weapon I have quickly" Harry said.

"That is impressive Mr. Potter-Strauss, but I would advise you not to use those weapons in school since you will be in trouble" McGonagall warned.

"Yes professor" Harry said then the sword he had in hand disappeared.

"I can also use ice-maker magic and fire magic too" Harry said.

"What is that?" McGonagall asked.

Harry made a fist on one hand and held it to his other hand, which was open and he created the Fairy Tail symbol out of ice.

"This is ice-maker magic. It can make anything you want out of ice. This magic is only as strong as the person who is using it its imagination really. You can create pretty anything you can think of" he said.

McGonagall was stunned seeing this. Then she saw emerald flames burst out of Harry's palms.

"This is my fire magic. I learn it from my uncle Natsu who was raised by a dragon" Harry said.

"Raised by a dragon, that's impossible" McGonagall said in disbelief.

"It's possible, but all the dragons in Fiore have disappeared really. No one knows what has happened to them really. Uncle Natsu is still looking along with my aunt Wendy" Harry said.

McGonagall shook her head. What was Hogwarts suppose to teach Harry when he had this kind of magic at his disposal. It made the magic they used look weak and feeble with all their incantations and wand movements.

In the end though Harry got his wand. He got a holster for it on his right wrist.

After that they headed back to Hogwarts.

/Scene Break/

Harry sat in the common room of the lion's den and was reading. On his face was a pair of glasses that had elongated lenses in a blue frame with wings on the end of each side. They were shimmering and doing something. Other Gryffindors stared wondering what was going on since they've never seen anything like it before.

"Oy, what are you doing?" Ron asked.

Harry looked up from his book.

"Reading up on what I am going to be learning here. Best to get a jump-start and not look like a fool in class" Harry said.

"What are those glasses you're wearing?" a Gryffindor asked.

"Oh these, they are Gale-Force Reading Glasses. They let me read faster" Harry said.

"Why would you want to read faster?" Ron asked like it was horrible thing to do.

"Um, well, classes start soon and I'd like to know what's going on" Harry said.

"You're talking like a Ravenclaw, not a Gryffindor" Ron said.

"Um, okay. So does that mean I'm suppose to be dumb if I'm in this house?" Harry asked.

There was snickers at this.

Ron's ears went red.

"Look, I need to get back to reading so I can understand what's going to be talked about. So if there's nothing else" Harry said leaving a pause in the air.

No one said a thing and Harry started reading again.
