I stand before Pestilence's cell, waiting for him to wake up. Suddenly I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn and see Erik standing beside me.
"My dear boy, have you never heard the old saying; A watched pot never boils?"
"I have, but in all honesty, what else have I got to do?" He smiles at my somewhat brooding attitude.
"Well, I believe that Charles mentioned your young lady friend is awake..."
I look at him when he says this. "You didn't think to open with that?"
"Of course not, a lesson cannot be learned if it is not known..."
"Never knew you were so cryptic Magneto.. I'll see you later."
I turn and leave, walking down the corridor to the med bay where Hanako was resting, expecting to find her there.
Unfortunatly she must have been awake for a little while already because she's not in the med bay.
Hanako.. Sweety, where are you?
Oh hey Kyle, I'm up in our room. Just getting changed out of my pyjama's be right down.
Ok, I'll meet you in the kitchen with some tea... you should put your uniform on.
Ok.
I decide that today is the day we'll finally take the fight to Apocalypse. First step; finding the bastard, easiest way to do that is to get the location from Pestilence. If he's not awake to give it we'll have to take it by force... For that we'll need Emma.
Second step we'll need everyone to him down, Scott Pete Erik and I can all take a team. Unfortunatly we still have three horsemen to get through, but with four teams it should be easier.
I reach out mentally to the proffesser, Jean and Emma, asking them to gather the household in the dining area.
Sitting at the head of the table I wait patiently as everyone arrives from their different parts of the house.
After everyone arrives and sits down I begin to explain my plan.
"As you're all well aware, you were called here due to the re-emergence of Apocalypse. Well today, we're finally taking the fight to him."
"How do you propose we do that when we don't know where he is?"
"Wars weren't won by nay-sayers Scott. We have one of his horsemen in the basement, he know's where Apocalypse is hiding, I say we go down there and take that information from him."
"What if he's still asleep."
"The three most powerful telepaths in the entire world are seated around this table, the simple answer is to literally take the information from him."
"While I appreciate the compliment Kyle, you know my rules about mental invasion."
"Then we'll have to settle for not having the weakest of the three join the fight."
"Weakest? I assure you young man that there is no stronger than Charles Xavier."
"Fighting his battles for him Erik? Let him prove his strength, get that information from Pestilence and then I'll believe it!"
"Kyle, you shouldn't demand that he do something he doesn't want to..."
"No... It's ok Azusa, I'll do it. This is Kyle's show after all, he gives the orders..."
The professor wheel's himself slowly from the table and down to the cells, leaving me feeling a little guilty.
I'm sorry professor, I know you despise digging around in people's minds, but the longer it takes to end this, the more damage Apocalypse can deal...
I know, believe me Kyle I wouldn't have agreed if it weren't necessary... I just thought a little reluctant obedience would help strengthen your position of leadership.
Oh... Didn't realise that's what you were doing. Thank you Charles, I appreciate it.
"Next up, the rest of us need to suit up and break into groups. Erik, Scott, Emma and I will each lead a group."
"That leaves one team with only three members." Scott points out with a look of concern.
"That's fine, I don't mind having only Mystique and mister Marko for back-up"
"No problems then, once Charles gets the location from Pestilence, Hiro can transport us to seperate locations. Each team should have a telepath so we can all keep in touch, minus Erik's of course, though I'm sure he'll be fine without us annoying him telepathically.."
"Indeed. Better in fact..."
Suddenly Charles wheels his way back into the room and declares, somewhat triumphantly;
"I got the location. His mind was not the easiest to break into, but I did it."
"Thank you Charles, I know how much that goes against your morals and I apologise for asking it of you. Where are we going?"
"Well, he's scattered his horsemen around the city and they all only know one part of his location, by that I mean one syllable of the name..."
"The syllable that Pestilence has is; Kyo. Without the three other syllables, his is useless, but get us close enough to the target and we can get the syllable without much trouble, telepathically that is..."
"How do you propose we do that if they're in different locations around the city?"
"I have the locations of the three horsemen too."
"Very well done Charles, we'll send Emma to deal with War. Scott, you take Famine and Eric, you can deal with your son..."
"I would have it no other way. But how do I get the syllable from him without a telepath?"
"I'll join you Erik."
"Charles, you're not exactly fighter material..."
"I am aware of that old friend, but I can keep to the sidelines while the three of you subdue him, then dig deep when he's out cold."
In the lab Charles sends Emma to the co-ordinates for where War was sent. Then he sends Scott's team to deal with Famine and joins Erik to where Death is hidden.
Hanako and I decide to have a chat while we wait for the three teams to return.
"You ready to deal with this guy Hana-chan?"
"Apocalypse? Yeah, he's not getting out of this one..."
"Good, because if my power doesn't work.. yours will."
"Right... I know that. I hope that your's works though..."
"Don't worry Hana-chan, you'll be fine."
It's not me I'm worried about... She thinks to herself, unintentionally letting me hear. Knowing she didn't want me to hear it, I choose to ignore her thought.
Five minutes later Scott's team returns and has the second of the four syllables we need; Er.
That doesn't exactly help... and I hope they aren't side by side because kyoer makes no sense and erkyo makes even less sense...
another ten minutes pass and Emma's team returns. The syllable they got was Tow.
So we have Kyo, Tow and Er... well at least Tower makes sense, but what the heck is Kyo tower... or is it towerkyo? I have no idea...
Five more minutes pass and Erik's team return, the professor slumped exhaustedly over the arm of his chair.
"Professor, are you alright?"
"Fine... He just needs eight solid hours of sleep that's all, but we have the syllable we needed from Pietro, and he's safely imprisoned until he returns to normal..."
"What's the syllable?"
"To"
"The other two were Tow and Er, so that gives us Er, Kyo, Tow, To..."
"Kyoer totow?"
"Never heard of it... I have heard of somewhere with those four syllables before though, been there in fact; Tokyo Tower..." Emma steps forward as she says this, ensuring the whole room can hear her.
"Great, perfect ammunition for Hanako and I, after she gleans Erik's power of course."
"Wait, what about the rest of us, it isn't going to be just the two of you is it?"
"Of course not, it'll be the four of us, me Kaitlyn, Hanako and Azusa."
"What about me?" Becky storms forward. "I'm as much a part of your team as those three!"
"True, but you were part of Emma's team earlier, you've done your part... let us do ours. Hiro, the teleporter."
Setting co-ordinates; Tokyo Tower...
Hanako, Kaitlyn, Azusa and I step onto the teleporter.
"Wow, that's a big tower..." Hanako looks up as we stand at the base of the tower.
"Yeah, but it won't take long for the elevator to get us to the top."
"What makes you so sure he's at the top?"
"Good point. 'Starter, Survivour... go check would you, Belladonna and I will wait here."
Azusa and Hanako light up and jump into the air, flying to the top of the tower.
After a short wait they return.
"I saw someone up there but he didn't react when I waved so he might be sleeping..."
"Well let's get up there." I coat myself in my spore and put my arm around Hanako who then leaps back into flight.
Kaitlyn is forced to take the elevator given the fact that Azusa isn't immune to our spore.
When Hanako, Azusa and I reach the top of the tower we find it to be sealed off.
"Was it like this when you came up before?"
"No, he must have done it as we were leaving... What are we going to do?"
"We can't use my power, or Erik's to break through it, you'll have to melt a hole Firestarter."
"On it." Azusa flies forward and sends a concentrated stream of flames towards the metal covering the entrance. Slowly it cuts through and as it starts cutting, she moves, causing it to melt a hole large enough for us to get through.
"I was wondering how long that would take..." A deep voice booms from through the hole and we fly in, Azusa staying lit to light the room up.
"Apocalypse, your reign of terror is over!" I step forward, readying my swords to strike.
"Not so fast! Unless you want your little team mate here to be killed in the process..." He holds a hand out to show he's holding Kaitlyn by the throat.
"Bro, kill this fucker!" She sputters out.
"Oh, siblings are we? That's even better, you wouldn't want to be responsible for your sister's death would you young man?"
"Let her go Apocalypse!"
"Leave, now! Then maybe I'll consider it."
Before I can react or respond Hanako charges forward and crashes into Apocalypse. The tackle itself does nothing to him, but it does give her his abilities...
"Survivor, you alright?" Suddenly Apocalypse reaches down and grabs her.
"Let her go!" I step forward but a threatening gesture causes me to stop.
"I offer you now a choice... I will allow three of the four of you to leave... You will decide which of these two leaves."
"Kyle, take Katie and go... I-I'll be fine!"
"I'm not leaving you Hanako!"
"Oho, a lover and a sister... this is a tough decision, perhaps I should let the little nightlight in the corner decide..."
I glare at Apocalypse, refusing to bow to his demands.
"Let the girls go, take me instead..."
"NO!" the denial of my request is shouted at both of us by all three of the girls at once.
"You heard them, you leave, the nightlight leaves and one of these two girls leave... if you do not decide which one leaves, I will!"
"Damn it Kyle just take Katie and Azusa and get the hell out of here!"
"Hanako, I won't say it again I'M NOT LEAVING YOU!"
"Then you leave me no choice... I'm sorry sweetheart.." Hanako extends a hand towards me and I feel myself being tossed out of the hole in the wall behind me.
As I fall toward the ground I feel the tug of the teleporter.. Hanako must have told the professor to grab me and Azusa...
I hit the ground with a force that knocks the wind right out of me and look around to see Azusa standing over me with a concerned look on her face.
Written from the perspective of Hanako Ikezawa...
I feel terrible for throwing Kyle off the tower, but I can't do what needs to be done with him here... now to convince Apocalypse to let Katie go...
"Apocalypse, you promised to let three of us go... two are gone, now let Katie free and you can have me..."
"A noble sentiment, but why would I do that when I can keep you both?"
I decide that a telepathic coercion might work. Apocalypse... let her go, now!
"That won't work telepath, I'm telepathy proof... But your insistence is admirable, very well I shall let the girl go."
As he speaks he carries the two of us over to the hole in the wall and hangs Katie out of it, when he finishes speaking he lets go of her.
"NO KATIE!"
PROFESSOR, GET HER!
I can only pray that the professor caught Kaitlyn in time, as I can no longer see outside. But I don't need to see for what I have planned...
"This is where it ends Apocalypse."
As I say this I use my newly acquired power from
Erik to start folding the base of the tower up,
wrapping the entire building around us I then
burn brightly using Azusa's power, melting the
entire building into one massive ball of hot metal,
then using the ability I acquired from Becky I freeze
the whole thing in place trapping the both of us in the frozen metal.
He laughs at my attempt to imprison him. "You think this will hold me?"
"I don't want you held, I want you GONE!"
I use Gambit's ability to Kinetically charge
the entire sphere of metal. Then, releasing
the hold I had on it, thanks to Erik's
power, I let it plummet to the ground
causing an extremely massive explosion,
throwing us in opposite directions.
I then get up and coat myself in the spore
of Kyle's power, the highly potent one...
then I tackle Apocalypse once again.
I'm pleased to hear his flesh beginning
to melt. Until I feel him change...
His power has allowed him to alter his
physiology, turning his skin into a metal
that's unaffected by Kyle's power; the same
metal that Kyle's swords are made from.
Fine, I'll just have to take him down the hard way...
I use his own powers against him, turning
myself into pure Adamantium and shifting
my fingers into the shape of blades, I then
strike him firmly in the chest with my four
fingers pointed together. With my hand now
buried in his chest I open it and feel around
finding his heart I close my hand once more,
wrapping my fingers around it, and pull it
right out of his chest.
He has just enough time to look shocked before
I coat my bladed hand in Kyle's spore and melt the
poor bastard's heart right before his own eyes...
I then take the time to look around... seeing the size of the crater I created I feel terrible for the people that live nearby, but before I can do much more I feel myself being pulled in by the teleporter and have to brace myself for Kyle's reaction when I get back...
