I have finished this story. I have to say WOW, WOW, WOW. I can't believe I actually finished this story. I do have one more actual ending chapter. It will be short and no actual idea when it will be posted but this was what I was lead to write. I did want Sari to meet Shou and Kanae, I had some ideas floating inside my head. And actually even the last scene was to be written differently but the story took a life of it's own and this is what it decided to finish with. I might actually write chapters on if Kanae and Shou met Sari.
I also I realized that I actually gave Sari the middle name Aurora after Sleeping Beauty, maybe subconsciously that was because she was like the sleeping princess. I didn't actually realized it until I wrote it down for a character .
Anyways, thank you everyone. Let me know what you think. Was it worth the read? Did you enjoy the ending? Loved taking this journey with all of you. You have been an amazing audience.
Chapter 25
Sebastian let them into the mansion and they silently followed him to the president.
"Look at that, all the Hizuris' in one place." He exclaimed boisterously.
"Boss!" Kuu exclaimed happily giving him a man hug.
"Kidnapper!" Juliella mumbled and turned her head away, making Kyoko curious. The president knew that that term became more of a endearment nickname for him rather than Juliella being unhappy with him.
"How's my darling Sari this morning?" He said reaching out for her. She in turned jumped giggling in his arms.
"I am doing fine, grandpa Lory. Though I slept with mommy and grandmommy instead of mommy and daddy. And grandmommy and granddaddy won't take me away with them and daddy really loves Sari." She said that last sentence still amazed of the fact.
The president gave each of the individuals around him a look. They shrugged their shoulders with smiles on their faces.
The president turned around and walked towards another door talking all the while, knowing that everyone will follow him. He was going to put Sari down but it reminded him of Maria and it felt like a lifetime ago when Maria let him carry her around in his arms.
"Well, we are all in a predicament. We don't know how this happen" he threw them a look knowing that they understood what he was talking about. "So I had someone help me bring this here." He said opening the double doors to the other room. They all gawked a little before they schooled their expressions. In front of them was a chemist looking lab and above on a banner in big bold letters DNA was written.
"What's this, grandpa Lory?" Sari asked looking amazed at everything that she could lay her eyes on.
"An experiment." Lory chuckled.
"Can Sari help?" She asked her eyes shining when looking at him.
"Well, as a matter of fact, I do need your help."
Sari "kyaaa'ed" a little, her excitement unparalleled.
It was freaky when instead of finding herself on the ground, she found herself in her mommy's hands and feeling her mommy's dark aura and feeling her daddy right behind her mommy, who also looked upset and slightly angry.
She was shield by her mommy.
"What are you planning?" Kyoko asked the president showing her protective side. She wasn't sure what it was required of Sari to do so she wouldn't let her go until she was sure Sari wasn't harmed.
The president lifted his hands in surrender that looked strange since his costume today was a police officer.
"Mogami-san calm down. Nothing is going to happen. We just need some saliva from Ren, you and Sari."
Kyoko relaxed enough to look at Ren and telepathically communicate with him to ask him to go first. He nodded, relieved that Kyoko was now actually looking at him and felt pride that in a difficult situation she asked for his help.
Kuu and Juliella were on the sideline wanting to laugh at the scene but they settled in showing a cheesy smile at the "made-up family." It was a bit eerie looking at them three like that though, as they looked like family and the fact that somehow Ren and Kyoko were so connected they were able to communicate without words.
Ren got close to the doctor or whoever was there who took his saliva, it was easier for Kyoko to let them take her saliva and Sari's but she still didn't let go of Sari as she didn't know if the president was planning something else. All three of them were standing next to each other, Kyoko looking weary, Ren looking sharply around for any foreseeable danger.
"Now we wait." The president clapped.
"Can we eat?" Kuu asked, earning a chuckle from everyone, and a slap upside the head from his wife.
His question eased the tension from Kyoko and Ren's overprotection over Sari.
"Let's go in the other room. My assistant will bring us the results. And yes Kuu, there is food."
They all walked in the other room at the same time the door opened on the other side and Maria calling out.
"Grandpa, I heard we have gues…Ren-sama!" She shouted running towards him for the expected hug, when someone else barreled into her.
"Oomphf."
"Oneesan." Sari exclaimed in glee
"Ow," She stood up and looked at Sari "Kawaii." She squealed hugging poor Sari for dear life.
"Can't … breath." Sari managed to get out.
"Maria, let her go. You're suffocating her." the president told her, while Kyoko was gently prying them apart.
Maria let go, reluctantly.
"Who are you?" Maria asked eyes sparkling.
Sari sigh.
"I'm Sari. Oneesan forgot as well. I must have been with granmommy and granddaddy longer and everyone forgot me." She said forlorn going and holding on to Kyoko and Ren's hands, scuffing her shoe on the floor, dejected.
"Granmommy? Grandaddy?" Maria asked confused.
"Maria," Lory told her gently. "This is Sari Aurora. She claims she is Ren's and Kyoko's daughter and them," he swept his hands towards Kuu and Juliella, "are Ren's parents Kuu Hizuri and Juliella Hizuri." Maria looked confused, her brain feeling like it would circuit.
"What?"
"President, the results." Sebastian materialized in between them.
They all held their breath. Maria still confused and wanting answers but opted to staying silent feeling the heavy atmosphere around her.
Kuu, Juliella and Lory looked at the paper and they all gasped.
"99.9% compatibility. Sari is …" he looked at Ren and Kyoko bewildered "your daughter."
Kyoko exhaled sharply and then her breathing started turning laboured.
"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy what's wrong?" Sari asked scared, as Kyoko fell to her knees. One look at the little girl and Kyoko fainted.
Ren jumped into action and picked her up, carrying her to the first place that she could lay on. Juliella grabbed Sari in her arms who became hysterical, wanting to cling to Kyoko. Kuu went to get some water and the president told the assistant to bring some anxiety pills. Maria stood still, unsure of anything.
Not even 30 seconds later Kyoko raised up fast and gasped, coughing.
"Here, water." Ren said handing her a glass water, which she accepted and drank hungrily.
"Are you alright?" Ren asked her gently rubbing her back in comfort. Kyoko started crying. Ren hugged her, damn self-control. She sat limply in his arms, crying.
"It'll be ok, Kyoko. It's ok."
She could hear Sari crying not too far away. She gently pushed him away and looked at him tears still lingering in her eyes, he looked at her pained as he didn't know what else he could
"How could this happen, Corn?" He inhaled sharply, looking at her showing the question marks on his face.
Kyoko sigh "Sari told me. Which when she told me, everything clicked and it made so much sense. I was mad at you, but more than that I felt like you played with me, my feelings."
"I would NEVER." He exclaimed ferociously "You mean so much to me, Kyoko. I just ... I just didn't know how to tell you and I was punishing myself for what I have done. I wasn't that little boy that met that little girl in Kyoto."
She looked at the lonely paper that ended up on the ground and looked at him.
"How did that happen? How did this happen?" Kyoko asked feeling more in control of herself.
He also directed his attention to that white paper with black letters staining it.
"I don't know. I can't answer you, Kyoko. I don't understand."
She looked at him curiously, trying to see something in him. It seemed she found it and her face looked away like she was burned. Tears started falling silently this time from her golden eyes.
"Kyoko, please talk to me. What's wrong?" Ren asked gently rubbing the tears off her cheeks.
With her head still turned away she whispered.
"Kuon, do you…do you…love me?" she exhale gently, trembling.
He was tongue-tied. 'What could he say? Yes, no? What did she want to hear?'
She looked at him and smiled gently touching his cheek to bring him back to the present. She could see in his struggles what she always feared she would, and it was the same thing she felt for him. It was time to let go of the past and look in the future, plus he was Corn, he was her fairy prince and comparing him with that baka was stupid of her.
"I…love…you too." She stammered and blushed at her own admission. It was easier to say it than she ever thought possible, but it liberated her. It was true and for the first time in her life she could truly agree with the president that love was indeed beautiful.
His brain was fried and he became a statue, until all the words made sense in his head and saw her expression of fear, embarrass and relief.
Whenever he imagined that he would tell her he loved her, he never imagine she would be first to say it and more importantly she would be running away, forever.
"Corn?" She tilted her head, trying to gauge a reaction.
His lips crashed into hers and she squeaked. His kiss was more gentle than what it looked like or how it initially started. He moved back but his forehead lingered on hers.
"I love you, Kyoko. So much." A tear fell from his eyes. This was his happy ending and it was emotional and unnerving. She giggle.
"Apparently, you have always been my happy ending, Corn." She giggled again wiping the lone tear of his cheek.
He looked at her in the eyes, a more beautiful sight has never been behold in his eyes than her in this moment, claiming him as her happy ending.
"How so?" He smiled his heavenly smile, which even though it was still harsh on the demons Kyoko harboured, she felt alright and smiled back.
She tapped her finger to her chin to explain her reasoning.
"Well I guess at the time I made Shoutaro my prince charming because you were a fairy who eventually would fly away, leaving me behind. Shoutaro was the safe choice, but it was you and the memories of you that has kept me from giving up on myself, on life."
"I'm sorry about that Kyoko." He said looking sad for leaving her all alone.
She touched his cheek again.
"It's ok, Corn. It really is. Look at who we are now, what we have become. It wouldn't have happened if what happened in our lives didn't happen. And we have to believe in faith, since it seems with everything against us, we ended up meeting again and apparently … having a daughter together." She glanced again at the paper in amusement.
"I have to say though Kyoko. You are taking this better than I thought you would." He said, his voice a little concerned.
She smiled.
"Because you are not my mother or Shoutaro, you are Corn, who even in his greatest, most painful moment what he cared about was that I was happy and who gave away his most precious memento so that I will be happy even if he was not there." Kuon blushed
She giggled.
"I love you, Kyoko. And I'll never, ever let you go." He hugged her tightly.
She giggled.
"I know, Corn. I know." She sighed happily.
"Can we interrupt now?" they heard Maria whisper.
Kyoko pushed him away from her, tomato like red color spreading all over her body.
He chuckled, standing up, shielding her away from everyone's view.
Sari didn't care and ran to her mom, jumping into her arms and hugging her tightly, tears still flowing.
"Oh, my dear Sari. I'm sorry for making you worry. I'm alright now."
"More than alright, I would assume." The president chuckled. Kyoko's cheeks began to fill in with cherry red color.
"Kyaaaaaaaaa."Juliella exclaimed looking at both of them.
"Mom." Kuon warned.
"Oh shush, son. I just gained a daughter aaaaand a granddaughter on the same day. Nothing you say can stop me from pampering them." She went to the two girls and squeezed them for dear life.
Kyoko laughed nervously.
"The food I would be able to eat." Kuu said looking at them with a far off look.
Kyoko burst into laughter.
'She truly loved all the idiots in the room.' She thought looking at all of them in turn.
"I accept defeat Onee-sama." Maria told her, Kyoko looked at her sadly "I'm sorry, Maria."
"It's ok onee-sama, you are the only one I would concede defeat to. I heard your story. I guess you were fated for each other even before I came into the world and I would never go against faith." She said looking down.
"Maria, come here." Kyoko told her opening her arms to give her a hug.
Maria ran into them.
"I love you, Maria and I truly am sorry."
Maria nodded a lone tear making a streak on her cheek.
"I love you too, onee-sama and I want you to be happy. You mean a lot to me."
"As you do to me." Kyoko said closing her eyes and squeezing her little adopted sister tightly.
With all the feelings out of the way, everything got peacefully resolved.
Kyoko would be graduating from the Love Me section the next day and see how the relationship with Ren would continue. She was sad that she had to announce that to her best friend and Amamaya-san.
Kuu and Juliella had to rush back to the US as their job got entangle but they decided to come back and spend more time with them in three months when their projects are over and they decided not to take another for awhile. Before they left Kuon told his mom he will be proposing when they are back in Japan and bring a custom made dress just for Kyoko. His mom's excitement was so big, Kuon was afraid that she would spill the beans, but they left before anything like that happened.
That night him, Kyoko and Sari fell asleep in the same bed. It made Kyoko flustered but Sari was not feeling well and she knew Kuon wouldn't do anything, especially not with Sari around.
The next morning they woke up and felt really strange. When they woke up and nobody was around them, they didn't understand what made them confess their feelings to each other, why he told her about his family and his past and why she knew about him being Corn. But it all felt right and meant to be the way it happened, however it happened. They opened their eyes and he looked at her lovingly.
"Good morning, Corn." She said blushing.
"Good morning, Ai." He said making her blush more and him smiling widely.
