Azure Flame Wolf
"Crest?" I stifled down a yawn turning to see Logan sleeping soundly bedside me. I looked next to him seeing the time '12:00pm'. Crest was growling out the window looking ready to fight. "It's so late… why are 'yawn' up?"
'There is someone there… out in the trees.' I quickly yet quietly got out of bed rushing to the window. I stared into the darkness finding nothing but shadows. Frowning I glared down trying my best to see what was hidden. Soon the entirety of the darkness faded and it was as if I was seeing the yard in the day light. I could see it… someone walking behind the trees. I turned to Crest picking up a shirt to wear in the cold.
"let's go check it out." I walked to the door while Crest turned to Logan.
'What about him?' I thought for a moment and shook my head.
"No.. he had a rough night..." After the professor and Crest were thoroughly checked out of the infirmary Logan told me about what he and the others went through. An old friend of the professor's who's son was a mutant had an episode like Lance and I went through. His powers were to strong for just the professor to deal with on his own and needed the faculty to help bring him under control. They were successful but the guy wasn't sure about joining the institute. Crest sighed and followed me out the room.
'Then let us make haste. Just watch over yourself, I do not recognize the presents of this being.' we walked all the way out into the lawn as quietly as we could. Whatever this was, I wasn't about to risk the well-being of my friends; Crest and I could handle it no problem. We stood out in front of the trees growling ready to fight if need be.
"Who's there! There's no point in hiding!" all the confidence in me pealed away when he stepped out of the shadows giggling like a crazed hyena.
"Well well well! I guess I didn't have to set the place on fire to get you down here." the man stood there, holding a lighter with a cartoonish woman on the side. He twirled it in his hand and lit it smiling through his red and black mask. "I'm kind of disappointed that you didn't bring Wolvy with you though."
"How do you know Logan?" my curiosity lowered my guard for only second but that was enough. The man rushed at me and pinned me to the ground.
"He was a friend of mine little Neko boy. But that doesn't matter much… seeing as your a bout to d…!" not even giving him the chance to finish his sentence Crest tackled the man off me and sending him a few feet away.
'You die first you pathetic cur!' Despite Crest's strength the man tossed him aside easily. He chuckled amused and pulled out a thin sword.
"Nice doggy, I think it's time to get you fixed!" Crest eyed the sword and snarled in anger growing three times his size. The man nearly dropped his sword seeing Crest's overwhelming size. "oh crapola… didn't see that coming." I walked behind him smirking as his guard was lowered.
"You haven't seen anything yet!" I let my body give over to instinct and lunged for the sword managing to pull it free of his grasp but not without getting a bloody hand in the process. I held the sword in my hand just feeling the blood dripping onto the ground yet feeling nothing but a fierce rush inside my heart. The man smiled brightly and laughed.
"You got guts kitty! Man I really wish I didn't have to kill ya…" I didn't dare let down my guard, i just knew he was going to do something despite the odds agents him. He smirked through his mask and pulled out two machine guns. "To bad I like the sight of blood!" he fired; and Crest moved in a flash, he danced in the flay of the bullets moving like a shadowy blade as the guns raged on until he ran out of ammo. Crest stood there with thousands of bullets in his maw, they all dripped to the ground in a puddle of metal. "…. That's hardly fare!"
"Life's not fare." he grumbled in anger and smirked as a sound echoed through the grounds of the institute.
"Devlin!" Crest and I turned to see Logan along with half the institute running out of the building from the sounds of the gun shots. That moment was enough for the man to steal his sword back and with one quick motion… 'slink' "NOOO!"
"Sorry Neko boy… it's just business" I felt nothing… nothing but a dull pain in my chest. I looked down to see the thin blade sticking inside me and slowly pulling out. I fell to my knees as Crest howled and roared in a fury sending a blast of dark flames at the man immolating him to the ground. His body fell down along with my own. Everything began to fade out, I saw Logan standing over me along with Crest, tears fell from his eyes but nothing changed other then the world fading.
"Lo.. Logan… I'm not going… to make it..." I strained my eyes but I could hear a word from him… in fact I could barley see him anymore…. Everything… faded away. Into darkness I fell until I felt the embrace of water. Clear and cooling waters rushed around me filling me with comfort. I opened my eyes to a familiar sight. The serpent swam in grace in front of me, it's large eyes like shining stars in the depths.
"…. Am I…" He didn't need to answer… I knew it was true. I was dead.
'I apologize, but the windsss of fate can't be changed… not thisss time.' I felt cold… was this really happening? Was I really going to die, It felt like a nightmare! 'I promisse you I will take you to mothe….' the great serpent paused and I looked up at him confused.
"What's wrong?" The serpent floated there as if in a trance. I held out my hand only for something I never expected from the kind being in-front of me.
'RAGH!' the serpent writhed and trashed in pain as if it was being electrocuted. He began to fade away until it was nothing but a whisper in the waters. I felt something odd then… like I was being unnaturally sucked through the waters and forced down into the depths. The waters were no longer calming and gentle but freezing and hateful. Finally I stopped within a dark trench with no light to be seen. I summoned as much power as I could if only to see where I was, and by the goddess I wish I hadn't. I screamed when a small flame boiled within the waters reviling the horrible sight.
There all around me floated the sunken bloated body's that the Serpent fed upon. They were all twisted and mauled as if tossed aside by a monster. This wasn't right! They were to suffer for their crimes and be reborn fresh and new! not rot in this hideous state. What happened to the serpent? what was going on!?

"Heal him!" Logan stood over Devlin's body tears stained his face as he watched more and more of his live leave the boy's eyes. Crest stood over shedding tear after tear into the wound within the poor boy's chest. The wolf seemed heart broken as he cried over Devlin.
'Something is wrong! It will not heal!' Jean stood along with Rouge and Kitty all in tears. Scott and Alex looked just as helpless as Logan. Kurt held his hands together in prayer as the professor shielded his tears with is hand ashamed to let a student die within his care. All of the pain they felt was increased when the chard man began to gasp and chuckle in pain.
"Heehe 'gasp!' that's... the power of... carbonadium." the man seemed to heal very similar to Logan. But that meant nothing when Crest grew and trust his flaming paw hard onto his chest collapsible the man's lungs. Crest raged on turning to the professor questioning him.
'What is this carbonadium? Why does it interfere with my power!?' Xavier sighed.
"it's a complex metal that can dampen healing factors. I use it to help Logan with medical problems… I am afraid there is nothing natural or unnatural that can save him… I'm sorry." Crest's mouth quivered in fear as I looked down at his reincarnation; he felt himself slowly slipping away.
'Without Devlin… the flame of the heart will fade away forever. Along with myself… may mother save this worl….' everyone stopped to see the blank face that came over the wolf.
"Mutt?" the great wolf turned his head upwards and felt a great pain within him.
'… Abaddon… my brother… he is dead…. The guardian of the dead is… dead.'
"AAAAGHHHhhh!" just as the words left the wolf's maw Devlin screamed out in pain.
"Pup!" Logan tired to calm the boy down only for him to claw at the wound still gaping in his chest. Logan cloud only hold the boy down as he clawed and scratched at the bloody mess. "Dam it! Chuck do something!" Charles concentrated a small blast of mental energy knocking out the boy before he could do more damage to himself. Logan quickly lift Devlin in his arms and rushed him to the mansion. Crest followed confused.
'Where are you taking him?' Logan growled at the wolf.
"To the infirmary! If you cant heal him then I got to do something!" once inside the two spent hours waiting while Beast preformed surgery on Devlin. Crest paced back and forth while Logan smoked, the wolf mumbled under his breath slightly irritating the man. "What do you have to say mutt?"
'That this is hopeless!' he cried out. 'Doing anything to his body would do nothing NOTHING! with Abaddon dead the people of the world will not die! He will forever be in pain until my brother wills him back into the depths… and with him gone… the world is doomed.' Logan took the cigaret and smothered it in his palm.
"What can we do?… look I wont pretend I know what's going on with these things but I do know that Devlin died more times then this brother of yours so why cant he come back?" Crest took a breath and turned his head up to the ceiling.
'Once dead it would take generations to find a vessel for one such as Abaddon and beings such as us can not be reborn so easily… I would have to know what had happened to him and where the remnants of his being is being held… there is a way but it is very dangerous and there will be a chance that those who preform this task will die or worse.'
"Then let's do it. What do I have to do?" Crest paused and eyed the gruff man. He just stared at him just looking into the man's eyes. "I know what your doing mutt, your trying to see if I'm going to chicken out. But you hear me right now, there is nothing I wouldn't do for Devlin."
'Would you have your soul ripped from your body? Would you let it travel into the azure depths past the realm of my brother into the depths of darkness itself? Where beings of madness writhe in eternal fury and hatred?' Logan smirked.
"I've been through worse."

"YES!" Standing there within a room stood a woman with long green hair cackling in utter joy. She stood in front of a glass tube filled with green liquid floating inside it was a naked man with raven black hair. Behind the tube on a large metal table was a large dark blue scale. A monotone voice echoed within the chamber.

"Just thirteen more days my dear! I don't know how I could ever thank you!" she turned and faced a man with blood red skin and a spaded tail, the man wore tight black dress pants and a flowing black silk shirt. The man smirked showing a row of pristine white fangs.
"It took a lot of power to seal Abaddon within the depths of madness. I had to sacrifice a lot of my followers to gain the power to do that. Now…" he strolled up to the woman and cupped her chin in his clawed hand. "About our deal Miss. Viper..."
"Yes… the whereabouts of yours son and his mother. Well my dear I have found your son but not the mother, she is very… elusive." the man smiled brightly and then to her shock he grabbed her neck and squeezed.
"We made a deal woman! You break the deal and I break your pretty little neck!" The woman laughed and pointed behind the man. He turned only to be turned to stone.
"Madame Hydra! Are you alright?" an old man stood over the woman with eyes full of concern.
"Yes my firend," she turned to face the shocked stone demon like man. "I suppose the great Azazel is not immune to the powers of us mortals… Mhahahaa!" she trailed her hand on the chest of the stone statue lovingly. "Take some of his blood and add it to the umbrakinetic's within the vessel." the woman turned to face the tube and smirked triumphantly. "Just thirteen more days..."
