Chapter 24-No More Feelings and Emotions
Lucy's POV
Morning came. 8:00 AM... I read in my head. I stretched my arms and my legs and looked around. Too much stuff in my eyes... I rubbed my eyes to beat the stuff out; When I feel like everything's gone, I proceeded to the restroom.
I brushed my hair and my teeth. I left a half small ponytail in my hair with a black spongey and threw makeup on. I took off my clothes and quickly put on my black outfit. I sighed. This is going to be a long day...
I then forgot. Natsu left the burnt scrambled eggs and some cookies last night. She then looked at them, cautiously trying to find out if the food has poison or some drug in it. She evidently made the food clear that it was just normal food. There weren't any drugs so I proceeded to eat it. Then I saw a note. It was handwritten in a very ugly way. "Natsu..." I muttered under my breath. I reached for the note and read it.
I figured you opened this in the morning since you "hate me" so much. I knew you weren't going to eat it until now, right? I knew it! (drawn horribly of happy by natsu)
Anyway, since you feel like eating the scrambled eggs, put them in the microwave for about thirty seconds. You can start eating afterwards. I left a cup of milk in the refrigerator... I don't know why... but yeah... go ahead? There's two cups. One for the scrambled eggs and one for the lovely cookies I brought in yesterday but you never ate them. -_-
Anyway, if you're still not feeling better, then just stay there. I'll be back tonight maybe around.. 8?. So don't you dare get out of your bed and leave because if you do, you owe me a battle! Pffth! Not that I'm going to lose!
You leave, you'll regret it! I'll be there at 8! Don't you dare leave your room!
~Your so called "idiot", Natsu Dragneel.
I sighed. What an idiot.. I thought. I began to eat the scrambled eggs, only knowing that it was a bit cold. She didn't care. Natsu made it. It couldn't go to waste. Wait, what am I saying? Who cares about the pink haired idiot?!
I sighed. He worries me sometimes... I hope he dies soon... maybe I should just kill him to get it over with. I won't be brushed with a burden of killing him. Besides my bounty will go up again if I do kill another person... well both a good and bad thing. The higher the bounty, the more bounty hunters that will show up.
I decided to eat the cookies during my writing. I had to go somewhere so I might want to finish my novel. I'll show it to Rouge when I finish! Not to Sting though, he's an annoying prissy!
I had a feeling that pink guy is going to come in any minute and scare me to death. I always had my magic armed in case because once, a robber broke into my house and immediately started shooting, even if there was no one around. I was badly hit with it so my father brought me to the hospital. After that, I was petrified of guns, I couldn't even move, and sometimes I would blink and try to either play dead (sometimes it doesn't work because they pick me up seeing my frightened face) or hide somewhere safe, which also doesn't work and I end up in danger. So any time I'm near guns I usually shiver in fear and hide, even if I were to mortify myself. After all, mama was assassinated with a gun after taking a bullet for me.
I took hours to write the story and when I was done, I stapled the stack of papers in front of me, took the empty plate with cookie crumbs and placed it into the sink. I sighed and smiled. Time to show my papers to Rouge!
Suddenly the door flew right open and I heard a gunshot, hitting my window. I immediately went down and tried to cover myself. I didn't even dare to look. I didn't care who it was. The gunshot is my fearful weapon. It hurts to much to think about it. I'm strong, all right. No matter how strong I am, I cannot face a man with a gun in his hand. I didn't want to die. If I wanted to, I would have jumped from that window a long time ago!
"Where's your-" The man looked right at me. "Oh, Lucy Heartifilia. All trembling down there."
I looked up. "L-L-L-Leave..." I stammered. I was truly afraid of guns.
"Hm? Why are you.. TREMBLING!?" He kicked me hard in the face. I was thrown into the ground, almost hitting the walls.
"You're supposed to be the strongest Lucy with a billion bounty! Why are you trembling?!" he laughed as he kicked me in the stomach as hard as he can.
I trembled.
"L-Leave..." I faltered. I didn't know what to do. I was too scared to make my move.
He started to kick me. "Hurry up and fight before I kill you!" he said, kicking and punching me.
"Could it be... you're scared of guns?!" he laughed uncontrollably, which I shook in fear, wishing the man to go away.
"S-Shut up..." I stammered. He slammed my face into the ground and started to kick and punch my guts. I tried to cover myself but it turned out to be a fail and got punched in the face for trying.
"HA! YOU STUPID BTCH!" He shouted, laughing. "This is fun!" He started shooting my arm, and I grimaced in pain, screaming my ass off.
"SHUT UP!"
He shot the same arm. It was pain. Torture. I couldn't take it. I needed help. I tried to scream for Master. Sting. Rouge. I even tried screaming for this person and I regretted saying his name.
Natsu...Help..Me...
Suddenly the door was bashed open, and she saw bright orange, yellow, and red flames. Natsu?
I tried to see with her messed up and broken face. It was Natsu. "Natsu..." I said, weakly.
"WHAT THE FK DID YOU DO TO LUCY?!" He screamed.
"Get near me, or even try to hurt me, and this girly gets it." He threatened.
"N-Natsu... leave.." I stammered, softly. "B-Before... you get hurt..."
I actually wanted to live. I didn't care about the lives or deaths of other people. But for Natsu, it was different. But even if it was different... my feelings didn't change for Natsu. I felt...empty.
Natsu tried to get him but he already had disappeared. "He's gone..." Natsu said, going back to my room.
I sat there, hands burying my face. "O-Oi, are you okay?" he asked.
I tried to ignore him but it was no use. "I-I'm scared..." I muttered. "I-I'm scared..."
Natsu rushed to me. "Hey.. it's okay... first of all, why were you crying? Was he that scary?"
I shook my head. "S-Shut up..."
He glared, but not meanly. "Come on.. after I saved you?"
"M-M..." I tried to say.
"What? M...?" He asked.
I shook my head. "It's nothing."
I got up, without letting Natsu see my red face, and headed towards the bathroom.
T-This was too scary... I thought. Mama was shot and I swore never to get near a gun... until it came to me. I was so scared I couldn't move. I'm a really strong person... but no matter what, the guns will bring closer to my death.
"Lucy?"
I jumped, leaving the water faucet on. My face was still red after a few splashes but it didn't worked. "G-Go away..."
"I wanted to ask if you were okay."
"Yes, I'm fine...okay?" I was lying. My voice was shaky as I talked.
"Okay... I'll be waiting for you to get out."
His voice suddenly disappeared. I felt even more depressed. I wanted to hear his voice again, even if he's my brutal enemy.
I threw splashes of water in my face, turned the faucet off, and went back to my room, leaving my face all wet full of water.
"Natsu," I blurted out. He was lying down on my bed with his arms behind his back. "Yo, you okay?"
"I told you I'm okay." I said, flopping on the bean bag on the floor.
I was a bit okay but I was still sniffing. The more I sniffed, the more tears streaming down my face.
"I'll cook you something," he said quickly. He messed up my hair and then began cooking.
I sat there. I then realized the cuts and scars on my legs and arms mainly. My hands and feet were bright red so I couldn't get up, otherwise I'd fall down with the pain in my feet and hands.
"Done." He placed the plates in front of me. "I made eggs and rice."
"T-Thanks..." I took a tea cup and drank it from it. "Feeling better now, Luce?"
"Don't call me that. I'm feeling better already."
Despite the hot mess in the room, I had to hold the cup in my hands he gave me. "The table is flipped upside down so you're going to have to put the foods on the floor. I won't spill, obviously."
"Fine." He finished making eggs and rice and carefully placed them on the floor. "Here's your food."
I ate the food, and it was delicious. It has been a long time since I ate his cooking. It has been too long. "It's normal."
"SAY YOUR FEELINGS NORMALLY DAMMIT!" he shouted. I closed my eyes as I ate and drank. "Thanks for coming over." I said.
"Finally." he said, grinning. "You finally smiled."
"S-SHUT UP!" I shouted, and then coughed.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Yeah." I said, now chewing my food. I was almost halfway done with it.
Natsu then noticed the stapled papers on the ground. "Hey, what's that?"
I then flushed. "OH MY GOSH, DON'T TOUCH THAT!"
He picked it up anyway. "Oh, a story!"
I facepalmed myself. "Oh my gosh... this is going to be a loong day..."
Natsu laughed. "THIS GUY HAS THE EXACT SAME PERSONALITY LIKE ME! AND THIS IS SIMILAR TO HOW WE MET! Is this about us?!" he smirked, throwing the papers back to her desk.
"N-NO! NOT AT ALL!" I shouted. "I don't even like you. I used to, but I hate you as much as I hate Happy."
"HEY! NO ONE HATES HAPPY!"
"Too bad, looks like you found yourself a hater." I finished my food and began to finish my milk.
"Here, I'll finish the cookies later... maybe." I said, slowly.
"EAT IT ALL! Unless you're full by that time."
"Shut up. Go away. I will finish them, sooo okay?"
Natsu sighed. "You're one troublesome girl."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"
He laughed. "Alright, I'm gonna go leave. I need to meet up with others for a job. If you DARE get out of this house, I will beat you." He went out. "See you in a few hours." He slammed the door behind him and I just sat there.
Suddenly my head started having aches. I punched my head, hoping it would go away. After that, I threw myself in bed and let the dreams suck my conscious away.
2:00 PM
Lucy lazily smacked the alarm clock that went on forever. She had set up the alarm for the 2:00 Meeting she had and she couldn't be afford to be late... OH SHIT.
Lucy took her lazy ass to the restroom and fixed her hair. It was tiring but she didn't even care. She was about to be late, and she didn't care about her makeup or her clothes... well clothes...maybe slightly important for her.. but it wasn't like she was going to some fancy party.
She rushed out the door without eating, and ignored the bounty hunters who tried to hunt her. Sabertooth can handle the brats as soon as I get there..." she muttered.
When she got there, about ten of the hunters were chasing her.
"Lucy," the master bellowed. "Why didn't you defeat them on your way?"
Lucy sighed. "I was late. I wanted to hurry, ignore them, and leave the dirty work to you."
The master sighed. "That's true... but why didn't you just threaten them or something? Eh, whatever. Go in the meeting. Your fellow friends will fight for you. SABERTOOTH!"
"Yes sir!"
"Kill the bounty hunters. We need to get her comfortable in the meeting until then."
"Yes sir!"
Lucy went from a frown to a smile. "Thank you, master!" She skipped towards the meeting hall, leaving everyone else fighting, including Rouge, who didn't want to fight.
"And... that's all of the plan we will have for December." the boss said, gathering up his papers and stacking it up in a pile.
Lucy quickly got off her chair and bowed with a huge smile. "Thank you for all your hard work!" She shouted, as she skipped away.
"Good work!" Lucy shouted at Master Jiemma. "You too. The project is in more than five months so you better be prepared."
She shook Jiemma's hand. "Yes, I can't wait to be sacrificed for your world!"
The master let out a small chuckle. "Yes, when it succeeds, I shall hold a small funeral and memorial for your sacrifice of our world."
She ran off. "Thank you! Good work!"
Master Jiemma chuckled as she ran off. "So it does work... especially slaves who are going to die with her so it's necessary for our new world, eh?"
Rouge walked up to him. "What if the project dies?" he asked. "What if Fairy Tail ruins it?"
He sighed. "It's simple. You guys will try to prevent that. Make sure he doesn't try to come in to where the project is happening. We can't possibly have it here, in fact, they know our guild."
Rouge looked down. "Sure.. but... I don't want Lucy to die... for the sake for your world."
"She's willing to accept that the fact she will sacrifice herself for the new world being created." The master explained once again to Rouge. "There is no reason to stop her, especially when she wants to do it. Don't force her to stop her sacrifice. Isn't it her dream, no?"
Rouge looked down. "But..."
"No buts. Go get a job. And a life. Now run along." The master headed towards his office, leaving Rouge speechless.
"L-LEAVE!" Lucy screamed. Suddenly light blinded everyone's eyes. She cried. She bashed herself into the wall. She wasn't feeling too well. The Voice had disappeared ever since she fainted and she has been feeling a lot awkward and weird from before. Not only that, her fear of guns grew stronger. Her enemies tried to be friendly but then betrayed her with a gun in their hands after knowing her weakness. She was tired and sick. She tried to hurt herself because when the light disappeared, every time, all of the criminals would lay in a pool of blood, sickening the sight of it.
This happened four times today. She cried so much her face was dry and red without even washing her face after so much tears. She quietly dragged the bodies out of the apartment without anybody noticing. She could be sent to jail but she didn't mean to harm them. She could even be kicked out of her house! She did not know why this kept happening to her. The Voice wouldn't tell her and sometimes it would just suddenly disappear. It was very frustrating.
Everyone's in their rooms... Lucy thought. She opened a window and threw the bodies down the third story apartment to the trash can. She looked around. No one was watching. Just as soon as she finished throwing out the last body, she heard a deep and heavy voice.
"Where do you think you're going, Miss Heartfilia?"
She immediately froze. What if someone saw her? She turned around. It was the landlady who owned the place. She shook all over while being frozen and forced a smile on her. "H-Hey... how's...life?" she stammered. Unfortunately, her smile was moving everywhere.
The landlady stared at her as if she were crazy. "Something wrong? I heard a crash upstairs so I thought I might have a look."
"Ah.. um yeah! One did, I think! I came out of my room the moment it did so I thought there was a burglar in the apartment. I wanted to help out if there really was one. So.. I'll go check to see. I'll see if someone has a problem okay? You just head on downstairs."
The landlady, once again just stared at her for a while, feeling dissatisfied. "...Okay. If you say so..." She slowly departed downstairs, thinking that Lucy was being suspicious. She wasn't entirely satisfied but she kept her eyes on her.
Lucy gave a forced smile. "There's nothing to worry about!"
She departed downstairs, still having a dissatisfied feeling. She sighed, hoping she never saw anything. "Shit.. that was close..." she muttered. She then headed to her room and tried to clean up the blood in her room. She locked the door and covered the windows in case anyone saw blood in there, and then might suspect her for killing someone.
Apparently it took about half an hour to clean up the place with perfume everywhere. Even if she cleaned it, the smell was still there. She took the perfume she had in her purse and sprayed about fifteen times until it was so strong she had to open the window.
She looked around. Everything was safe and quiet. The blood that laid there had been absorbed into a towel that was thrown away into a trash can for burning (she tried washing it but she failed) so the evidence for her killing was gone.
She twirled around to her bed, feeling tiresome. She wanted to sleep but she had to do some shopping for her food. She was running low on her personal needs and she had plenty of money from her hard working jobs to buy foods and beverages to keep herself healthy.
She sighed as her stomach grew empty. She had to get up. She needed some food. She tiredly got up of her bed and slowly staggered out of her room, sleepily.
"Hey, Lucy? Did you check what was the noise about?"
She turned around. "Ah, Landlady."
"So? The noise coming from?"
Lucy had completely forgotten about the body disposing. "Ah.. um.. it seems that someone had dropped something heavy and it let out a crack. It isn't broken, but it left a little crack. She also jumped, which it was a pretty heavy one."
The landlady frowned. "Okay then... well where're you going?"
"I'm just going out shopping for food and beverages. Personal needs. You know, I need to live a very healthy and beautiful life!" She knew she was lying. She could never live a life she desired. She didn't want to be a princess her father wanted her to be, but everything had fallen apart. If she could at least do what her father had told her, maybe she would have a life she always wanted after she became a princess.
"Oh, go ahead then. I'm just wondering you were going. Well, then go ahead. I dont mind anyway. By the way your rent is in three weeks so if you're broke, I'm kicking you OUT of the apartment!"
Lucy laughed. "Okay! Bye Landylady!" She quickly rushed out the door with a bunch of bounty hunters passing by. Oh boy... this was going to be a long day...
Natsu desperately looked forLucy. "LUCYYYYYY!" He shouted, calling out Lucy's name. No use. He said he would come back to visit her but she left. She didn't even leave a note!
He roamed around the streets and the shopping districts, calling out Lucy's faithful name. Well, obviously, he came early so he had no reason to blame her for leaving. Then he realized he didn't see any foods or drinks. The room was messy too. He had asked the Landlady where was she.
"She was low on her personal needs," the Landlady had said to him. "She went shopping for foods and drinks to keep her living. But I feel like I can't... go all suspicious on her.. she was acting too weird lately."
He ran around. She must be hungry. Usually when she's hungry, she would usually hurry up and cook food but she wouldn't last very long. She would be on the streets, whining the fact that she was full of thirst and hunger.
He jumped on the roofs, angering the Fiore people, which it made it easier for him to find her. "LUCY!" He shouted. Seriously, where was she?
He then finally found someone he knew. Well.. two.. or three...
It was Lyon and Gray arguing with Juvia in the middle while walking. Juvia must be confused.
"Oi, Gray! Lyon! Juvia!"
Natsu jumped down, with Juvia sighing. "Please help me. These two won't shut up about something. I don't even know why they're arguing."
"It's natural. They hate each other's guts and are willing to kill each other until the end."
She gasped. "GRAY! NO!" She hugged him. "DON'T DIE, EVEN IF YOU'RE WILLING TO FIGHT FOR ME!"
"SHUT UP JUVIA! WE WEREN'T EVEN FIGHTING ABOUT YOU!"
"YES WE ARE
She sighed. "Natsu, quit saying stuff that will make me want Gray more." Her eyes were sparkling in daylight and her hair was shining as the wondrous sea waves water everywhere and-
"WELL ANYWAY..." Natsu began. "Have any of you seen Lucy? I have some business with her."
"You said you were going to meet her at 8 tonight," Juvia stated. "You do realize that if you come early, the love rival will soon walk away from you. She loves Gray! Not you! Anyway, get her to love you back. I don't want her to be my love rival."
Lyon chuckled. "Forget him. Throw me into your thoughts, Juvia-sama!" He tried to hug her.
Juvia crossed her arms and moved to the side. "Not happening, love bro."
Gray glared at Lyon. "It's no fun when you're around, picking up someone from the same guild as me." Gray said, holding up a fist.
"Well, it's no fun when you're here, trying to steal my girl when she already loves me."
Juvia sighed. "Another fight.. again?" She chuckled to herself to the point no one could hear her. "Yup, so then.. bye Natsu. Hope you find her soon."
She followed the arguing "couple" (she secretly thinks of yaoi) and away from Natsu.
"Juvia must really hate the 'love rival'..." he muttered.
He then continued his search of Lucy.
It was almost eight. He repeatedly took breaks for about half an hour and talked to some people, wearing the pinklet out.
She must be at home already... he thought. She knows I'm going to her room because I left a note for her. Hopefully she read it...
He then heard an uproar... arguing... he decided to check it out. He could stop the fight.
He ran to the fight, hoping to break it off, but when he reached there, he just stood there, and couldn't do a thing.
"Well it isn't fair if I can't do anything for my master!"
"Well, you might as well shut your mouth because I'm going to make sure you disobey him!"
It was Lucy and Rouge. He was bewildered and confused of what they were screaming about. They were probably in an uproar.
"I have to do it for my master! I have to do it for the world! I'm willing to do anything to make master happy!"
"You serious?! Are you fucking serious? You want to die for a perfect world?! You're not God! You're not an angel!"
"I don't care! If you want to stop me, a billion jewels bounty on my head, fine by me!"
"WAIT!" Sting appeared in scene, his face all pale. "Please don't do this. Don't die for someone's sake! If you do, I'll kill you, even if you're dead!"
Lucy left a frown on her face. "Well, then, super smarty face. What if someone you loved told you to die for their sake? Would you do it?"
Sting was speechless. Someone he loved. It was Lucy.
"Exactly," Lucy walked to him. "I will die for my master, and I will do what he tells me. Even if I have to die, or go do something I hate, I will."
Rouge ran to her, trying to attack. Lucy blocked his attacks and threw him into the ground. "Pffth, you think I'm dumb? I can read your minds!"
Rouge tried to get up and brushed off the dirt. "Lucy, what has gotten into you?! You aren't like this! You hated the master, remember?! Don't you remember us?"
"Why would I remember your smiling faces? You are preventing me from doing my job!" She threw Rouge into a tree.
"Rouge!" Sting shouted. "You little bastard..."
Lucy glared at him. "You wanna be next?"
"I don't care. You don't hurt my friend. My comrade.." He was ready to attack but Lucy kicked him before he could do a thing.
"Stupid," was all she could say. There was no emotion in her eyes. She didn't care if she had to throw away her life. It was saddening. Even if someone she loved died, there was no way she would feel angry or sad. There was no feelings in her heart.
"I don't know what the master did to you..." Rouge gasped for air. He tried to get up with injuries killing his skin. "But I intend to find out why he is making you like this. Can you hear me?"
"I don't even want to hear your voice. I can't even cooperate with you in the Grand Magic Games."
"Lucy..." Natsu whispered her name.
She turned around. "Natsu.." she growled. "What did you hear so far."
"All of it." Natsu answered, stepping forward. "You don't hurt your own friends. That's stupid. If you ever do that again, I'll kill you."
Lucy chuckled. "Ehehehe, good luck with that." She pointed at him. "I feel so much hatred for you and-"
"And.."
Natsu made a fist. "Don't you ever throw your life for something that isn't worth it!"
"I'm willing to make a sacrifice for my master."
"So tell me. If your friend jumped off a cliff, would you jump too?"
"Yes, but that doesn't fit in this situation. Forget it. You wouldn't understand how I feel.."
"You didn't even have any feelings or even the slightest emotion ever since you joined Sabertooth!"
"SHUT UP!" She sent him flying to where Rouge's tree was hit. "You don't even understand.." she muttered. "These things called feelings... all disappeared from me.." she pointed at him with her teary eyes. "Because of YOU!"
She wiped her tears off. "You don't know how much I've been dealing with... forget it..." She walked away. "I hope to fight.. you in the Grand Magic Games."
"Lucy..."
Sting and Rouge got up, injured.
"Yo, you okay?" Natsu asked, lending a hand.
"I should be asking you that, stupid," Sting said, faking a grin.
Rouge got up slowly. "This is going to be a long week.." he muttered. "Lucy's strong, because of her master, so Natsu, i want you to be careful."
"Sure." Natsu strolled away. "See you at the Grand Magic Games."
"You too, and be careful. Especially about Lucy."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm no baby!" He lied. He was a baby. He couldn't do anything to help her. She was probably like that because of her master. And... he couldn't even do anything about it. If only if he learned about it before she was turned into.. that.
The Grand Magic Games...
He could wait... because he would have to fight his ex friend..
Lucy Heartfilia...
