EPILOGUE

3 years later…

Amy concentrated on the power ball Casey was holding, it lifted further and further into the sky, she concentrated harder before she reached out and placed her hand above Kate's. The ball then exploded and each streak formed into tiny birds.

The birds flew straight up before beginning to encircle one another, the color changed to a deep orange before they then dived straight down towards Piccolo, Yamcha, and Tien who were standing nearby.

The birds turned into fire as they picked up speed in their dive.

The three warriors on the ground braced themselves for impact as the birds color changed from orange to blue and almost to white before it slammed into the three.

The powerful blast slammed into them causing each to slide backwards, their heels digging into the ground as their feet gathered dirt from sliding backwards and into the ground.

Yamcha gritted his teeth against the power that pushed against him and felt his muscles in his forearms begin to falter, but continued to push against. He had been working on a new technique and had wanted to give it a try.

He began to focus his energy into his forearms, he felt his power begin to flow towards his upper body and leak into his arms like blood rushing towards his forearms. He felt the power grow and the girls watched as a red shield like shape formed around Yamcha's arms before he threw his arms out causing the blast to bounce off him and back into the sky.

Tien and Piccolo as well were being pushed back. Piccolo simply held off until the energy wave subsided while Tien concentrated hard on the blast, instead of blocking with his forearms he was blocking with his hands. He allowed the blast to continue to push him however it did not consume him. Instead he focused on his hands and allowed his power to converge at the third eye on his head. He then felt it built to its apex.

"Tri-beam-Ha!" he yelled as his tri-beam blasted outwards from his hands.

The blast caused the oncoming power to cancel and he felt the energy drain from his body. And he breathed heavily once the danger had passed.

Amy, Kate, and Casey in the meantime were watching the three men as they recovered from the on coming blast. "I think that may be one of my favorites," Kate declared as she floated around Casey.

Casey smirked as she crossed her arms, "We are getting better at synchronizing our powers. To be honest I didn't expect us to get very far without Tristal but here we are."

Amy's eyes lowered momentarily as the face of their lost friend flashed through her mind.

She had, within the last few years, been able to gain more control over her emotions. Because of the amount of oncoming enemies in this world she had to keep a small part of her mind linked to the Z fighters. As well this meant that she wouldn't have to worry about accidentally imposing her own feelings onto the other fighters. "As well you've learned to lower the amount of power you throw into your blasts," Piccolo sounded as he landed next to them "That will be useful in future battles when we need to distract someone."

"Tomorrow we will start on your individual attacks," Tien suggested through deep breaths "You're able to control your powers when you work together but individually you still used up too much energy. Soon you'll be able to use them properly in battle."

Kate and Amy made faces which made thier significant others smile. Kate and Amy felt almost no need to fight anyone, they preferred rebuilding the cities and towns that Cell had destroyed. Together they had rebuilt full landscaping and with Kate's regeneration skills she was able to fully heal all of the Z warriors.

There was talk of possibly separating Piccolo and Kami in the beggining however he decided against it. And since Tristal was gone she couldn't turn revert his body into that of a full Namakien either, besides, it was an accident and there was no guarantee that she could reverse her spell even if she had returned.

None of the girls had fully spoken about Tristal since Goku and Vegeta had returned alone and Trunks hadn't been back from the future either so it was unknown how he was coping with his loss. The three girls each had different reactions to Tristal's disappearance and there had been no sign her since the end of the Cell Games.

Amy had declared she didn't believe Tristal was dead after the Cell Games. She held true to her word and would talk about Tristal returning. Tien had talked to her several times about the issue however her only response was that she somehow knew Tristal wasn't dead; it was a feeling, an intuition like she could still feel Tristal's life force somewhere.

Kate it seemed had a much gloomier outlook and went into full mourning after Tristal hadn't returned. Even though Amy protested it Kate organized a small memorial to Tristal. Yamcha had taken her away on a trip to get her mind off everything, while there she had shared that she didn't want to hold onto false hope that Tristal may be alive and then later realize she would never see her friend again. Even in the afterlife they wouldn't be together.

Casey was the hardest to get a reaction from. Whenever anyone would talk about Tristal she would change the subject, she never brought up Tristal's name, instead she would fly off by herself with her thoughts. After the Cell games she never spoke of her feelings or thoughts on Tristal's disappearance, she instead spent most of her time training with Piccolo. Piccolo being the type of namakien he was wouldn't ask her or push her on the subject either. They were two peas in a pod and neither had much use for the spoken word anymore.

Later...

"I sometimes think they're training us for something more," Gohan said as he sat beside his father, "Casey told me last night we always have to be prepared."
Piccolo nodded "She has told me as well that our battle for Earth is not over yet. That we will face many enemies in the future, some more powerful than others but all more powerful then Cell."

Gohan huffed as he thought over the battle with Cell, and the loss they encountered. A loss that they couldn't wish back.

If there were going to be enemies more powerful than Cell then he would be ready, he felt determination begin to consume him as he thought how he would continue to make himself stronger. There would be no more lives lost this time.

The two walking into Bulma's house and towards the kitchen where Nicole and Bulma were currently trying to keep up with Goku and Vegeta.

"Nicole will you pull that turkey out of the oven?" Bulma called.

Nicole turned to the oven and leaned down to get a full view of the oven, when she had surmised the turkey was, infact, done she quickly grabbed some oven gloves and slid them on before opening the oven and pulling out the turkey.

When she saw a hand reach out towards the turkey she bit it.

Goku jumped back and cried out as she released him, "Hey!" he yelled out, "What's the big deal? I was just going to sample it!"

Vegeta let out a hearty laugh from the table as he reached out to pick up Goku's abandoned food "Too bad Kakarrot!" he called "No doubt Bulma told her how to keep you away from the food!"

"Goku, go sit down and finish what's on the table!" Bulma said "When we have finished preparing the turkey we will set it out!"

Goku pouted as he returned to sit at the table beside Gohan.

Piccolo ignored them as he thought over the girls words, Vegeta had resounded his own pride to Gohan when they had fought Cell. After talking with Vegeta about the view he had of their life in Casey's world he understood the power of their premonitions.

If such was the case than they would have to stay strong and always be ready for battle. At that moment there were no immediate threats however that could change in the blink of an eye. He would have to ensure that all the fighters were in peak physical condition, as well that those who were weakest would continue to strive to be stronger.

With the arrival of the girls he saw that Yamcha and Tien's power had grown substantionally within the time that Cell had been killed and now. Piccolo would have to make sure that they would continue to grow in power.

Meanwhile...

He sat back and thought over how life had changed in the past 3 years. They hadn't seen Lunch in about two, the last time she showed up Amy proved how scary that she could be. She had somehow brainwashed Lunch into moving on from Tien to someone else and moved FAR away. Tien and Amy had moved in together as Yamcha and Kate had done the same, in fact, the night before Kate had announced they were expecting a child. A new edition to the family.

He and Casey had been the same, together since the end of the Cell games. There were many confusions about his body and how much of him had been converted into man but those had been cleared; it was an interesting road.

Nicole, Vegeta, baby Trunks, and Bulma had been living at Capsule corp with Bulma's parents for the past three years. Vegeta had adopted Nicole as his own daughter, an action that surprised most of the others except for Bulma. Bulma had as well excepted Nicole and the two were now very close. Nicole had come into her own and was being trained by Vegeta, tapping into her saiyan blood, even baby Trunks had grown close to Nicole.

They had expected Trunks to return but after two years had excepted the fact that he most likely wouldn't. There was still a great amount of pity for Trunks and his struggle. His life had been harder than any of them and it was not too far of a stretch to ask why he hadn't returned. There was even a fear that he may have been killed. But none of his thoughts were topics of great discussion amongst the group.

There was suddenly a flash outside of the building which caused the people inside to jump up in surprise. The blinding light caused a mass confusion between the fighters inside; immediately Piccolo jumped from his seat. Goku pulled the half eaten turkey leg from his mouth while Vegeta yelled at Bulma and Nicole to stay in the house while he ran to the door. The fighters nearly took flight as they raced to the door and out the front of the house.

There they saw Kate, Amy, and Casey standing at the edge of the lawn looking up but shielding their eyes from the bright light above them. The three girls felt their hair begin to stand on end.

The three had for so long excepted the fact that Trunks would never return that they didn't know what to do at that moment.

The light dissipated to reveal a bright yellow time machine with the words 'Capsule Corp.' on the side.

The girls eyes widened and Amy took a couple steps forward as she watched the machine begin to descend. The group watched as the machine landed and smoke blew out from under it. The sequence was slow motion as everyone watched the machine sit for several seconds before a large 'whoosh' sounded and the cap opened.

Casey invertantly breathed in swiftly as the she suddenly felt a familiar power overwhelm her. A large lump formed in her throat as the cap opened slowly and she saw a figure inside. The figure was dark at first and as the smoke began to clear she saw purple hair begin to form. She allowed a breath to release from her lungs.

Everyone watched with suspense as the cap rose and the smoke settled. Trunks' head turned with a smile as he stood from the time capsule "Hey everyone!" he called.

Everyone let out a breath of relief at his call and several smiled as he stood. However their smiles suddenly fell as their jaws hit the ground. Trunks lifted a baby wrapped in blankets from the time machine. "Pick your jaws up," a sarcastic voice sounded above them "When you think about it about it he deserves to be a father."

The girls breath caught in their mouths as they all turned in unison together upwards and saw Tristal floating towards them. As she landed Trunks walked over to the group with the child "We're sorry it took so long for us to come back," Trunks smiled "but we had a lot of work to do in our time."

Bulma's eyes watered as she peered down at the bundle of blankets that Trunks was holding, "It's okay," she said "We always…knew you'd come back."

Her arms rose towards Trunks as she neared him, "Is this…*sniff*…is this…" she began to sob.

Trunks smile widened as he laid the baby in Bulma's arms "This is your grandson," he said.

Meanwhile Tristal walked up to the girls with a familiar smirk on her face, "I'm sorry that…"

*SMACK!*

Everyone turned quickly to see Tristal with a large red mark on the side of her cheek.

Amy was standing with her palm out as tears streaked down her face. Suddenly she threw her arms around Tristal as she began to sob, "What took you so long you idiot!" she cried.

Tristal smiled as she returned the hug. The other girls then joined the embrace.

Vegeta walked up to Trunks and looked down at the child in his sons arms. It looked up at Vegeta with glowing violet eyes and he saw a great intelligence behind them that stared up at his grandfather. "We've named him Kelry," Trunks told him.

Vegeta peered down at the child and gave a slight nod to his son.

Trunks felt a well of pride begin to swell inside of him. It was strange having two fathers in two different time periods, his own father had been there for the birth of Kelry and had as well shown a small but large expression of respect towards his grandson who would continue the royal saiyan line. He didn't realize how important it was for him to receive the approval of his father of the past until that very moment.

Trunks turned to see Tristal's reunion with her friends; he had told her several times in the past three years to come back and tell them she was still alive however Tristal had refused most of the time. It was only around the time she had discovered her pregnancy that she had decided to come back. So they waited for the baby before they planned their trip back to the past. He never questioned her reasoning, after all, if she had wanted him to know she would have said something.

Trunks felt a prod in his mind and smiled as he turned to see Amy staring at him, he gave a small not allowing her to search his memories. He saw her expresssions change from sadness to surprise to joy as their story unfolded in his mind.

The two were surrounded by their friends and family and although they knew they had to return to the future, they would enjoy their time while it lasted.

Not to mentions Tristal had insisted on warning the others about Majin Buu, but that was another adventure for another time.

AN: So there it is, the final chapter the epilogue. Thank you all for reading my story I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. As I've said before, I hope to go back and rewrite alot of it in the next few years and take out alot of the teenage angst and fluff I was dealing with when I first started writing this story. :)
