"Lily," Scorpius' voice stirs me.

I gasp, suddenly back from the dark pit of nonexistence. I try to open my eyes, but it's hard and my eyes feel so heavy.

"Please wake up," He chokes out from somewhere beside me.

I let out a groan as I struggle with my eyes, but they refuse to budge. Scorpius is holding my hand tightly, almost too tightly. Finally, my eyes give way and I'm blinded by a dazzling white light. I blink a few times, trying to adjust.

"Lily," Scorpius sounds relieved as he wraps his arms around me.

"Ouch," I groan as he squeezes me too tight and moves my neck and head.

"Mr Malfoy," Healer Charles chides.

Scorpius pulls away and looks at me worriedly. I stare into his gray eyes and blink a few times. I'm not quite sure what happened.

"Is she going to be okay?" Scorpius asks.

"I don't know for the thousandth time, Mr Malfoy. She just woke, and I haven't had the chance to examine her yet. Lily," Healer Charles shines a bright light in my eyes, "Look here for me."

I gasp, "It hurts."

Scorpius looks at Healer Charles, practically frantic.

"What hurts?" Healer Charles asks calmly.

"My back, and my head and my neck." I groan.

"Anything else?" Healer Charles raises an eyebrow.

I close my eyes. There is a dull ache in my stomach, "My stomach hurts too."

Healer Charles nods and turns to Scorpius, "We can do two things here. We can check through an ultrasound first, or we can try to diagnose Miss Potter, but if we use the wrong medication that could induce her or cause a miscarriage."

The world is spinning around me. I close my eyes, suddenly confused. Miscarriage? Huh?

"Will it effect her injury if we check?" Scorpius asks.

"I don't believe so, Mr Malfoy. We have to reason to believe that her condition will worsen dramatically within the next few minutes."

I open my eyes and look at Scorpius. He looks so distraught and upset. He sighs heavily, "Please check our babies first."

Healer Charles nods her head and turns around.

"Babies?" I ask, confused.

The pressure in my head is increasing. Scorpius looks at me for a moment, then to Healer Charles. Healer Charles wheels over an ultrasound machine and watches me with a concerned expression on her face.

"Lily," Scorpius sounds afraid, "Our babies. Remember?"

I shake my head, "We don't have any babies. What're you talking about, Scor?"

Scorpius' face falls. He looked pale before, but now he looks even paler. Healer Charles sighs and takes my hand, "Lily do you remember seeing me just the other day?"

I shake my head, and gasp in pain as Healer Charles pulls back the blanket covering my lower half and pulls my hospital gown up to my ribs. I try to move, to get up. But Scorpius is quickly standing over me, holding me down.

"You have to stay still, babe." Scorpius urges.
"No," I shake my head and try to sit up.

Healer Charles is placing a cool gel on my stomach and I jump as it makes contact with my skin. Frantically, I fight against Scorpius' grip.

"Stop," Scorpius' eyes are welling with tears, "Baby please don't fight me."

"Lily," Healer Charles distracts me as she places a probe on my belly, "Can you tell me what all you remember?"

I nod, "Scorpius and I are engaged. We were at his house? I… I'm not sure what happened…"

"She doesn't remember," Scorpius sounds distraught.

Remember what?

Healer Charles gives Scorpius a meaningful look, "Don't get my patient worked up, Mr Malfoy."

"What's happening? Scorpius please let me…" My voice trails off as a strange sound comes from the machine.

It's a thumping sound. It's loud and resembles thunder. Healer Charles nods her head, and moves the probe on my stomach once more. I look around confused, but as the probe touches a place on my belly, another thumping sound comes from the machine. Scorpius releases me with a heavy sigh of relief. This time, I don't try to sit up or move. Instead, I turn my attention to the screen and look at in in confusion.

"What's that noise? And what is that on the screen?" I whisper.

"Lily, you're pregnant. You collapsed due to emotional stress and hit your head very hard, but the good news is that the fetuses are just fine." Healer Charles says soothingly as she removes the probe.

I frown and look at Scorpius. He takes my hand, "We're having twins? Remember? We named them Kenzie and Orion."

I look at him in confusion. No, I can't be pregnant. They must be wrong. I close my eyes and try to remember what happened to me, but it only hurts my head and soon enough I'm gasping for air.

"Lily, calm down or we will have to use a sleeping draught." Healer Charles warns.

I open my eyes and see Scorpius' gray orbs staring back at me. I stare into them and slowly, then all at once, the memories trickle back. My eyes go wide as I remember waht Astoria told us.

Scorpius squeezes my hand, "Do you remember, love?"

I nod, "Astoria she told us about… and I… I fell… I couldn't stop it… The babies… The fluttering stopped."

"Shhh," Scorpius smooths down my ponytail, "You saw the screen and you heard those heartbeats. Our babies are fine, Lily. They are perfectly fine. They're alive."

I take a deep breath to calm myself and look at Scorpius with tears in my eyes. Our babies… Voldemort… all of it. He looks do disheveled, so distraught. I squeeze his hand and tears trickle down my cheeks.

"It's okay," I whisper softly.

He looks away from my gaze.

Healer Charles clears her throat, "As far as I can see the fetuses are fine. But you need to be careful, both of you. Lily cannot under any circumstances have stress levels that high again, physically or emotionally."

I go to nod my head, but it hurts too badly.

"I'll make sure she won't have anymore stress," Scorpius clears his throat.

"Good, now that that's taken care of, I'd like to talk to you both about what exactly happened. Miss Potter had a panic attack, which caused the initial passing out. When she fell forward, she hit her head very hard, giving her a concussion and a slight fracture in her temporal."

"Can you fix it?" Scorpius asks.

Healer Charles nods, "We have two options here. We can let Miss Potter heal the way muggles do and that might help prevent future injuries to the same location like this in the future. Or, we can heal it using magic. Of course, you might still experience some symptoms from the concussion, and you will be sore for a few days."

"Use magic," I speak up.

Scorpius frowns, "Are you sure?"

"Yes." I nod. He runs a hand through his hair, "You look horrible."

He cracks a small smile, "You don't look so good yourself, baby. Merlin, you scared the shit out of me."

I look at him with tears in my eyes, "I love you, Scorpius. No matter what."

He looks down at me, sadness fills his brilliant gray eyes. He presses a soft, tender, and wet kiss to my lips for a brief second, before he pulls away.

"Okay Miss Potter, we're going to begin. I would recommend preparing yourself mentally, because this is not going to be pleasant."

I nod my head and grip Scorpius' hand tighter. I close my eyes and take a few deep breaths. And then the spell hits me. My head throbs and burns and breaks all at once as my fractured skull heals. I squeeze Scorpius' hand until the pain begins to dissipate and then almost disappear altogether.

"We're finished," Healer Charles announces.

Slowly, I open my eyes. I turn to Scorpius, still dizzy, "Can we go home?"

He smiles at me, and shakes his head, "What in Merlin's name am I going to do with you?"

I bite my lip, "A number of things but none that I'm up to at the moment."

Scorpius rolls his eyes, shakes his head, and chuckles. A small, genuine smile is on his face, and I'm glad that even after everything we've discovered, I can still make him smile and laugh.

"You are discharged," Healer Charles says, "But come back if any symptoms have not dulled or altogether disappeared in three days, and of course if any symptoms worsen."

"Thank you," I tell her.

She nods and leaves the room. Scorpius looks at me apprehensively, and I sit up and reach for him. He wraps his arms around my waist and holds me against him. He curses my name for a minute or two, until he becomes silent. He shakes in my arms and I wrap them tighter around him.

"I thought that you'd hate me. I thought you'd either never wake up, or when you did wake up, I'd lose you and our babies forever." His voice is muffled as his face is pressed against my shoulder and hair.

"I could never hate you, Scor, never." I blink back tears.

He only squeezes me tighter in response. We stay like this for a few more minutes, until he pulls back. His eyes are bright red and his face is smeared with tears. My heart breaks at the sight of him. I grab him by his shirt and cup his face delicately in my hands. I wipe away his tears and kiss him passionately. He kisses me back tentatively at first, then he kisses me like he's never going to kiss me again.

When we break apart, his eyes seem less stormy and he seems more stable.

"Come on, let's get you dressed and get home. It's almost ten at night and I'm sure people are wondering where we are." Scorpius says.

I raise my eyebrows, "Ten at night? It was just past four in the morning when…"

Scorpius nods, and looks at me with a pained expression on his face, "I know. We couldn't wake you up."

I swallow hard, "I'm sorry, Scor."

He shakes his head and peels the hospital gown off me, "Don't be sorry, baby. I just want to get you home and get some sleep."

Quietly, Scorpius helps me dress, and with his support I'm able to walk. As we step outside St Mungo's to apparate, Scorpius pulls me in close and kisses me once more.

I look up at him, "What was that for?"

He frowns, "I thought you were going to die. I thought I was going to lose you, and our babies, and the wonderful life that we will have once this awful war is over. I keep needing to touch you, to kiss you, to make sure you're really still here, still mine, still alive."

I look at him and I find that there's no words that I can say to make what has transpired in the last twenty-four hours okay.
