After Lucius left to attend, claiming he has work to head, and kissed his lover before leaving. Javier wasn't stupid, but he couldn't flat out say he knew. Javier sensed the dark mark in its active moment. Lucius was called and he went immediately. Somehow, the savior pitied his lover and wondered how this would ever work!
The defense professor was dressing up for the day and-
Whoosh!
Stomp! Stomp! SLAMMED!
The time traveler drew his wand out and went out of his bedroom. His eyes scanned and saw the boy's room was closed. It was rather odd, but he decided to prepare any fights. His fingers grasped the doorknob and turned it quietly. His eyes glanced everywhere at once while his heart raced…what if he fails? What could he do?
His head shook and found the small boy curling in the corner. Javier sighed and tucked in his wand for later. He walked over to the boy and sat down to pull him closer.
"Severus, are you okay?" He couldn't see any injury or smelled any, not that his animagus wolf would tell him.
He heard a quiet mumbling, but it did not reach to the savior's ears. So something did happen, he just didn't know it. Javier pulled Severus onto his lap and cuddled him properly.
"Stop asking me!" Severus demanded, pushing the man off, "Leave me alone!"
The young Slytherin fell off the man's lap and Javier was taken back from this…attitude. Something was wrong and he didn't know what was happening! Unfortunately, he knew what would happen if he tried to push his way in and decided to leave the boy alone. He stood up, with a tight stomach, and his clammy hands tucked into his pockets. The time traveler hated the sight of his child's state was in and unable to help this time.
He walked over to the door and stood before he walked out. His emerald eyes lowered, felt the need to do something, and unable to move.
"…I'll be here if you need me-"
"-LEAVE ME ALONE!" Severus snapped.
Javier felt the hatred he had known for years. He walked out of the bedroom and closed the door. The defense professor sat down on the sofa and found himself feeling worse than a crucio could hit him. Now, he did not know what exactly to do. School was only a half a month away and there wasn't much work to do since he gotten everything finished.
His eyes closed and recalled that…bitterness.
The dark billowing robe followed the potion master into the classroom and he glared at each student that were not ready.
"Ten points from Gryffindor for not being in your seat," He sneered, "Longbottom."
Everyone in the classroom was shock, Neville lowered his head, and avoided looking at the professor. Harry tilted his head, wondering what was wrong with the man, and decided to watch out.
"Pair up with the other house," He seethed, "Any of you lot make one mistake, you will attend the detention immediately." His dark eyes narrowed, almost a death glare.
Both the house tensed up, yet, glanced over to whoever they knew well. Harry was about to head over to one of the quiet Slytherin-
"Potter," A firm gripped around his upper arm, "You're my partner for the day."
Harry blinked and stared at the person who 'caught' him. He knew the professor wasn't in the mood an likely to give him detention. He sighed and let his rival dragged him over to his desk.
"The instruction is on the board. You have the entire class period to complete this. I suggest you begin now." The look could kill.
All the students began to brew their potion and focus. Harry didn't bother to say a word and went along to whatever Malfoy wanted. They worked in silent communication and Harry would eyed the potion professor. He was yelling at his students and demanding to tell him what they did wrong. Then, gave them a failed grading and a detention to follow up by tomorrow. They left immediately, not wanted to lose points, and he shouted out whatever points loss to either of their houses.
Harry frowned and shook his head. He turned to his 'partner' from the Slytherin and they were almost done. Draco hardly gave him much expressive in their teamwork, but it was enough to know it would be successful. Once the class was over, Professor Snape hovered over them and hummed regrettably.
"Bottle them and leave them here. Get out." He insisted.
Harry and Draco left without a say. Once they were out of the classroom, exchanged a look, and stood there shortly.
"Don't bother him, Potter. My father pissed him off last night and he hardly slept." He stated briefly.
Harry tilted his head, "Why doesn't he sort this out personally to himself?"
The Slytherin shrugged, "I guessed that's how he handles it."
Malfoy walked out to his next class and Potter stood where they were originally. He glanced at the door and pondered if he could tell the man to go sleep or something. Unfortunately, Malfoy had given him an advice and that was that. It was rare, but the rich arrogant was nowhere to compare as his father.
Javier sighed and his hand brushed his messy hair out of the way. To know something was wrong did help, but at the same time, felt helpless when he could not give him. He knew he was a guardian, but he wanted Severus to turn to him at the most and not invade questions through the Potters. Albus told him about his vacation away and will be available within a week.
There would be one person, but she wasn't even born yet. It was difficult to assume what happened or anything else.
"…someone hurts you, Severus," He whispered, "…of course. Draco had to save me that day." He pinched his nose bridge.
There was too much to think about. He rose from the sofa and headed into the kitchen to prepare tea and simple breakfast. His thoughts drifted over a year since he took Severus in, by force or not, he still took care of the boy out of love. His wand flickered to get the food stirred and-
"-May I have tea," A soft muttering caught the man's ears.
Javier turned and saw the boy, "Of course. Would you want something to eat?"
Severus nodded, yet, appeared to be confused. Javier noticed and frowned.
Whoosh!
"Severus? Javier? Are you both okay?"
Kin jerked his head over to the floo and saw his lover walking through with a worried look. The veela joined the young Slytherin's side and placed his hand onto the boy's shoulder.
"I sensed something was wrong," Lucius' concern was noticeable from the tone of his voice, "Is there something I can do?"
Sensed? Javier took a moment to sink that in, while pour the tea into the cups and set them down at the table. His magic sparked when he realized and understood why Lucius did this last year. It comforted him to know he has support.
"What…is going on?" The young Slytherin glanced around, confused by this sudden action.
Javier softly smiled and handed them their tea, "A veela tradition, I believed, however, Lucius is an adult figure to turn to as well. Only when you need him," He poured himself a cup and sat down at the table, "I was worried."
Severus frowned, did not approve, and sat at the table. He couldn't escape this one this time, not with the 'graduated Slytherin' within the room. Javier sipped his tea, was not certain what to do since Lucius was now involved, and found this bond quite…'useful'.
"Javier, I hope you do not mind that I borrow the boy," He softly smiled.
Javier felt his heart pained from such request. He didn't even wanted to miss out on what was going on. However, he saw that Severus did not mind and determined to go with the veela. That look was something else to speak enough to know the differences.
"I better see him in one piece or you're dead, Lucius." Javier sipped, no doubts of his warning.
Malfoy nodded and gestured the boy to the floo network. The savior watched them disappeared in their travel and pondered what he could be missing out on. After two minutes, it nerved him not to know a thing. Javier gulped huge sips and swallowed it slowly to the point he wanted to feel the burn sliding down. It hurts. Just a year and Severus didn't trust him enough to tell him? What did he do wrong?
"Hermione…I need you so bad." He grumbled, "Albus should have made you a foster mother or something," He snorted, "But Lucius wouldn't be, erm, well involved with me." His eyes closed and breathed in a few times.
Javier set his drink aside and buried his head into his arms onto the table. The start of the day was not how he would have had imagined. He was supposed to pick up the child from the Potter Manor, but something told him the first time there would be his last. He hoped his lover would have his Severus back to normal and he could talk to the boy as he planned to do.
…
Ten days…it took him this long to speak against his father. Well, inform him it was supposed to be originally, but it worked out well. Draco sighed and sat down. He had to think of a few ways to approach things. His mate wasn't someone he has truly expected and held off a long time due to the war. There was a lot to factor in before he see his mate today.
The pacing in front of his large bedroom window was a way for him to think. Draco glanced outside to see the rain falling down. He knew how things were for almost two weeks since the war. He saw and heard everything at Hogwarts. The school was built up perfectly again with loads of help and several people were buried on the school ground, just not too close.
The aurors questioned everything to everyone, even the Malfoys and they were excused since they were Veelas. Well, except his mother, she was only a mate of Veela and she had to trust her mate to keep her safe. They were excused because being a veela had meant easily to control. Draco hated it, to be powerless against someone who knew how to control any veela within his range.
His pale blue eyes glanced at his marked arm and knowing it will never go away. He pulled the long sleeve and hid it. He hated it…wished the 'dark lord' never existed.
"Well," He huffed, "I better just drag my arse over there before I wait any longer." He took a deep breath and glanced over to his…floo network.
Somehow, the young veela knew that wasn't the proper approach and decided another way to go about it. His eyes closed and drew himself immediately. While he had the wizard apparition, he found Veela apparition much better and at ease to travel. Plus, there would be a limit and he hardly uses it much in a day. He would eventually use wizard apparition, eventually…
Splosh! Splash!
The cold and wet were noticeable for the young blond and he groaned. He did not like what this state was happening. For now, he had to get out of this…this, whatever lake it was. His pale blue eyes spotted the house and kept his attention to the place.
Once he gotten onto the dry land, his hand drew out his wand and dried his pants and shoes, and tucked it back in before moving his feet. His heart pounded so hard, he was afraid that his mate heard him already, and he felt unprepared. Draco stared at the door in front of him and found himself uncertain.
His arms crossed and gulped. Draco knew he cannot push this aside any longer. The young veela moved closely and his knuckles banged against the wooden door a few times. Draco withdrew his hand and held his breath in. The door swung open with the red head mother and she gasped in sudden surprised.
"Mr. Malfoy, what are you doing here? Oh, come in, come in!" She gestured him in.
Draco nodded and offered her a kind smile, "Thank you and I'd like to speak to someone, privately that is."
The red head woman tilted her head with such questioning look, "I do not understand, Mr. Malfoy?"
The young Slytherin sighed, "Mrs. Weaselys, I am a veela and finding my mate is important."
Molly smiled, "Call me Molly, dear, who is it that you need to speak?" She gestured the way to the living room.
"Draco it is," He offered a genuine smile, "Ron."
She was taken by surprised and blinked several times. Draco wasn't certain how to approach this matter with the way she reacted and gulped.
"Mrs…erm, Molly, what is wrong?" The veela didn't know what else to do, he almost walked out of here.
Her head shook, "Nothing. I should warn you that he has been dating Hermione."
Draco gaped, but understood. He knew it would be complicated and somehow, he still needed his mate. The mother wasn't rejecting or denying him of his mate and that's all he needed.
"He's," She waved towards the stairs, "Upstairs in his bedroom, they're chatting at the moment about where Harry could be."
Draco smiled, "Thank you."
The woman smiled with such delightful news and waved her wand to prepare dinner. It made her day! Despite the outcomes, she still knew it would work out.
Malfoy headed up the stairs and eyed anyone on the way. He saw Ginny reading something that has her attention fixated enough. There were bedrooms completely emptied. One door was slightly opened, but easily heard their voices.
"…He's nowhere to be found at Hogwarts, Ron. We already used the map and no signs of him anywhere. The Durselys doesn't even know or hadn't seen him over a year." She sounded justified.
An exaggeration sighed, "I know…I'm worried about him, 'Mione. He needs us to get him through."
"I know," Her voice soften, "But he will come back home. We need to trust him."
"What if he's kidnapped? Death eaters are still out there," His voice lingered, which caused Malfoy's heart to drop to his stomach from the sound of it.
A scoffed, "They were either all caught or dismiss. The ones that are dismiss were casted the unforgiveable curse. They had no choice in the matter, Ron, you know how."
If anything, Draco felt better when he heard her and he truly knew what he was doing. As he did earlier, knocked against the bedroom door and stood from where he was quietly. The couples turned mute, but their feet on the floor was enough to inform him that they wouldn't ignore him. The door opened from the young male Weasely and he scowled.
"Malfoy, get the bloody out of my house!" He seethed.
The witch slapped his arm, "He doesn't have his wand out, Ronald!"
"Ow! Mione!"
Draco almost pounced onto the witch, but he held his control together. He watched in silent, knowing speaking at the moment might not help him, and he knew this might be much more complicated. Ron grumbled and sighed. He looked up bitterly to the veela and crossed his arms.
"What do you want?"
The blue eyes glanced at the two, "You."
