Chapter 25 :

Even she had set her clock to wake her up but this hazel-haired girl was the one who woke the clock instead. Misaka Mikoto, in her pajama, was hitting its button before the clock could ring. Somehow, she woke up before the clock. No wonder why, just because she hardly took a sleep during last night.
"Mmm… Morning…?"
Mikoto rubbed her eye and pushed herself from the bed into sitting position.
"It's already…? Seriously…" She mumbled to herself silently. Mikoto sighed from the thought about the reason why she couldn't sleep till now. "Even in the battle, I didn't feel this much serious before. You better take the responsibility, you idiot."
She then blushed herself with the words she's just mumbling.
"I-I mean nothing! I mean-." She quickly stopped her word and covered her mouth as she could notice the red haired girl in the bed opposite side of her flipping her body toward her. Shirai Kuroko then took a deep breath and snored lightly, continuing her sleep again.
Mikoto sighed in relief that she didn't wake her Kouhai up by the mistake. The Electromaster then did her best not to make any noise.
"…Well, it doesn't matter now… There's still some times. I better get prepared."
But at this time, it's not only her who couldn't take a sleep last night.
In the certain bathroom, the spiky-haired boy now already returned in his daily life again, lying comfortably-like in the bathtub. Kamijou Touma supported his head with both hands, staring above. His expression showed nothing but the deep thought. Even he didn't take any rest yet, he couldn't feel any exhaust at all.
His injury was completely healed but that didn't mean his mind would be relaxed. It seems the dream he had recently including what he had faced during the fantasy hunting event had been bothering him all night. Touma didn't know how long the time had passed since he said good-night to the certain nun. His mind ran looping about Loki which making him be lost in time.
The spiky-haired boy tried to sequence the situation. It all began when he approached the lightning girl who had a problem about a stalker. Her problem led them to a fake date and his first encounter with Kirai Shin. Her problem then became his problem when he found out that there's something in his right hand, rather somewhere in his body. It was Loki, the scariest evil dragon or whatever that seemingly was sealed away by the legendary hero, The Chosen One.
Touma chuckled in his thought-self slightly. At the beginning, he really thought, it was just nothing more but some kind of fairy tales, an unbelievable myth, made up by someone to scare the children. But after more and more things happened, he couldn't reject that all the legend he had been told, possibility was a truth. More than that, he already had the most reliable evidence that confirmed that truth now. It was no-one but a person he had met in his mind room, The Chosen One himself.
The spiky-haired boy sighed after the long deep digging in thought. He could hear his breath thru the atmosphere as the silent still covered the bathroom. It was quiet, though, it's scary. His mess ended up quicker than he thought. He defeated Loki, or whatever that looked like Loki, in the battle during fantasy hunting event with his new power. The power which came along with the answer he gave to The Chosen One.
To think about the recent battle, Touma frowned, didn't understand some parts. Truly, he was a victor but his victory somehow was really empty. He could feel that it wasn't Loki who possessed Kirai Shin at that time. It felt like… the air… the void… the shadow… something that shaped into Loki himself. He knew it was a work from The Artificer but he still remembered what The Chosen had talked to him.
'Loki wasn't weak like this',
...was what he had been told. Even The Artificer tried to mimic and create Loki but it was far from the true one. It wasn't really him. It's something else.
Now, it was reminding him that the ritual The Hatred tried to perform wasn't completed. Some requirement didn't meet together. Maybe it was a reason why Loki he fought was so weak. So, it made him wonder… Just how much strong the true Loki would be. That was the first part he wanted to know but that came up with the second part of problem. It's about his right hand.
Touma raised his right hand up and stared at it. He knew there's something in his right hand. Something dangerous. Something that reminded him about the legendary evil dragon. He always told himself, hoping it wasn't like what he thought. But at the end, he couldn't refuse. What those Loki followers were after, was really this right hand of him.
Touma still remembered the first time when Shin tried to break the seal and drag something out of his right hand. So… it made him wonder more… if the ritual was complete… if 'her' blood was put into the ritual… what will happen to him…?
...Seemingly, his fight wasn't over yet…
After the long self-thought, the spiky-haired boy sighed once more before getting up, sitting in the bathtub. After a moment of re-drag himself to the present, he stood up and came to the sink. The boy ceased his seriousness down a bit after he saw himself in the mirror.
Even he didn't take a sleep once all night but he didn't feel any exhaust at all. But even he was exhaust; he couldn't take a sleep now because he had to prepare himself for today.
Today… he had a meeting with the certain girl...
The spiky-haired boy cracked a small smile to the boy in the mirror slightly. He recorrected it as soon as he remembered the words he had said to the hazel haired girl.
It's not a meeting… It definitely was a date if he told her so…
Now, he wasn't sure anymore what exactly that kept him awake until now.
…Was it the problem he had worried…?
...Or the excitement about today...
Back to Tokiwadai dorm…
The bathroom door was shutting silently after the hazel-haired girl had finished her bathing. Mikoto walked into the room as she was drying her hair with a towel, glancing at her Kouhai who still in the bed snoring lightly. From her remark from yesterday, it seems Judgment gave her a small break time after the hard work in the event.
Mikoto smiled slightly at Kuroko then walked silently to the mirror beside her table. She remembered 'that' day's morning, the day when she and the certain boy had a fake date to deal with the stalker problem. She didn't know what to wear that day. Mikoto even remembered how much nervous she got. She stared at the mirror as she was exploring herself. The nervous she got for today now was the same as that day. But surprisingly, this time she seemed calm more than her thought.
"…"
"…May I help you with something, Mistress? Did something bother you?" The dragon pendent on the table spoke after he had noticed her staring at mirror long enough.
"…No… Not really." Surprise not, Mikoto replied. "…I'm just thinking… everything began from that day. And now, that day seemingly comes back."
"I just hope… nothing more will happen after this."
"It's a past, Mistress. And now it's present. It's completely different so what we can do now is making the better future, is it not?" Ragnarok gave an advice even he didn't know what was in her mind exactly.
"… guess, you're right." Mikoto sighed. Ragnarok's word was hard to understand as ever but she couldn't reject that it's really useful.
"If you worry, why not take me with you, Mistress? I can manage with your problem one or two." Spoke again as Ragnarok flashing some light along the word.
"…I don't mind carrying you around on my neck though, but..." Mikoto stared at the dragon pendent showing her hesitant with a blush.
"Hmm? But?" Ragnarok repeated her word. After realizing her meaning, Ragnarok flashed rapidly like a giggling from him. "Well, do not need to worry about that, Mistress. I can shut myself down, so I won't be any obstacle to disturb your dat-."
Before Ragnarok could finish, the strong hand gripped him tightly. Misaka Mikoto then held him up while another hand was picking out her small purse.
"Er… Mistress…?"
Without any word, The Electromaster dropped Ragnarok down to her purse and locked him up in it.
"That should do it. A little narrow but it should be okay…" She whispered to herself with a blush. "Okay then, now only a wear I have to choose…"
After done with her stuff in her room, she chose to set off earlier than her meeting time. As she walked along the street, some noticed it was her but some didn't. Even so, everyone gasped with a blush before gossiped in their group no matter boys or girls. The reason why some of them didn't know her because she wasn't in her Tokiwadai uniform today.
The Electromaster sighed with a blush while walking down along the street. Her short hazel hair with the white flower clip danced along the wind. She put her hands into her white thin sweater's pocket which had a hood and a short sleeve. She zipped her sweater only the half-way which appeared her inner white shirt with a ruffle collar. The pink mini-skirt that had a red ribbon as a belt jiggled along the pace she walked. The white sandals she wore made her feel a little annoy but it's not the problem at all.
Being the Tokiwadai student, she knew this was against rule. But at least, she didn't feel like to wear the uniform for today.
As she continued to her destination, more and more people kept staring at her. Those gaze really pissed her off. The sign of anger popped up at her head.
'Don't they ever see a common girl!? C'mon! Why are they keeping gossip about me like this!'
Mikoto then sent a death glare around her and when her scary eyes met with a guy's, they quickly avoided her gaze with a blush. She sighed helpless.
'Haa… Curse them… Am I wearing weird dress here… ?I hope I'm not looking that bad…I just… want him to like it…'
With that, her face showed nothing but a gloomy face and continued her walk.
As soon as she arrived at meeting point, Seven-mist. Waste no time, she quickly wandered her eyes around to find someone. She knew it wasn't eight yet and there's a very little hope but she wished that he's already waiting for her like the last time.
And things went like she had thought when her eyes noticed the boy with unique hair style, standing there.
Mikoto stopped her walk and blushed hard. Her heart began to beat fast. Her vision began to blur as the excitement attacked her mind.
'There he is! Am I looking good enough now!?... My hair?... My cloth…?'
Mikoto could feel her blood running up to her head. Her eyes began swirling.
'W-What if he doesn't like my cloth? If he sees me being weird? What could be happen?' She still froze in place as the embarrassment still came to her over and over. '…I-It's no use…! I-I-I can't! … I can't d-do this!'
In the middle of pressure, some paper slipped out from her sweater's pocket. Mikoto looked down, noticing the paper. The Railgun then remembered in what she had to do today. It's about her reward as the winner of the event.
'… … No… I must… Or else… Nothing will be changed…'
The Electromaster shook her head, wiping out her embarrassment away. Once she made up her mind, Mikoto kept the paper back to her pocket and took a deep breath in order to calm herself down and gather her courage. She looked straight forward to her target and approaching him.
"H-Hey." Mikoto greeted first but she looked away, avoiding him. Her eyes didn't go at him. The hazel-haired girl stammered as she tried to act normal as best as she could because she couldn't fully wipe her embarrassment away yet. "S-S-S-Sorry to k-keep you w-wait…"
But when she slowly turned to face him, what Mikoto got back was a pair of confused eyes of him.
"Umm…" Exclaimed as he noticed the girl. The spiky-haired boy, in his regular cloth, raised his eye brow a little. He then said the word that's likely to suicide himself.
"…Excuse me…Who are you…?"
"…
…
…huh?"
Like something in her was falling apart, the countless sign of anger popped up at her head promptly. Her line of anger had been absolutely torn apart.
"What THE HELL are you saying!? YOU IDIOTTTTT!"
The blue lightning spread wide crazily from her body as she clenched her fists and shouted loudly, startling everyone around the two.
"W-Whoa! W-W-What are you doing there!?" Touma quickly grabbed her wrist with his right hand before thing's getting worse. "It's a joke! A. Joke. Okay?"
"SHUT UPPP! SHUT UPPP! SHUT UPPPPPP!" Mikoto shook her arm violently in order to break free from his grip. Because of his right hand, her electricity suddenly vanished.
"H-H-Hey!" Touma didn't let his hand go as he looked at The Electromaster who completely out of sane with a drop of sweat. He then noticed the people around that laughing at him which made his sweats drop more.
The spiky-haired boy sighed before started yelling to her. "I mean I don't believe it was you! I never saw you dress like this! It surprises me, Biri-biri."
"You're really cut-… I-I mean, you look good, you know?"
Finally, his word calmed her down a bit. Mikoto stopped struggling but sent a death glare instead.
"…That doesn't change anything. Don't hope I will forgive you with some lying like this, Idiot." Said coldly as she blushed a little.
"Please, go easy with me." Touma let out a relief sigh after noticed the girl before him could stand in sane again. But she was farther than standing in sane.
Mikoto frowned, glaring him as the reply while she's still blushing. "Why wouldn't you release me already? I don't want to be dragged around like this."
"Sorry. That's because you're crazy. You didn't understand a simple joke at all." Said as he loosened his grip from her wrist.
"Crazy? You can say that again." The mini-electricity was flowing around her as soon as his right hand was taken away.
"T-That's what I am talking about." Said as Touma quickly raised his right hand up to ready any lightning that would fly at him anytime with a drop of sweat.
"Hmph!"
After seeing the spark stop, the spiky haired boy sighed once more before lowered his hand down. To be seeing her energetic like usual, Touma cracked a relief smile.
"Well, at least, you seem quite be yourself now. Glad we can talk normally like this."
Mikoto eyes went wide after his word. She just found out that most of her embarrassment had been wiped away now. The pressure she had in her heart was loosened somehow. Her heart beat in normal rhythm. She felt more relax after some arguing with him.
Everytime this kind of thing happen, it always reminded her about the point why she thought he was a very attractive person.
Mikoto smiled warmly. Thanks to him, seemingly she could press her nervous down at the end.
"...Is it looking that good…? I mean my dress." With a bit red face, she asked mocking him about earlier.
"Huh?" This time, it was him who got the red face instead. Touma gulped nervously, couldn't believe in what he had heard. He blushed before answered, stammering. "W-Well… yeah. You're looking too good for me. It's kind of… c-cute."
"Thanks…" Replied quietly but could be heard by the spiky-haired boy clearly. The boy scratched his head by his embarrassment. He then looked down at her skirt as he was thinking about something real serious. Mikoto could notice his gaze staring at her. She slanted her head a bit, asking curiously.
"What's wrong with my skirt?"
Touma glanced at her eyes for a moment while his unfortunate readied to do its duty again. Without rethinking about it, he then asked the suicide-like question again.
"Talking about your dress, I wonder... Do you wear only a panties under that skirt instead of your shorts, today? Because I always see-."
With the unfinished sentence, his instinct told him to raise his right hand up as fast as he could. And his instinct was always true when it's about Misaka Mikoto.
"Always see!? You pervert!" The Electromaster shot her lightning at him which already had been waited for her by his right hand.
The crack sound could be heard as it caused the smoke at his right hand. Touma sighed with a relief that he could protect her sudden attack again. "You really don't get it while it comes to joke, do you?"
"For me, it's not a joke!" Shot a spark of lightning again as she threw a yell at him. And his right hand was doing its duty again. Touma had no choice but changed the topic for now.
"A-A-Alright! What are we going to do now?"
From his words, Mikoto stopped her rampage and calmed down a bit. Mikoto crossed her arm with the frowned face as she answered. "You are the one who asked me out today. You better take a lead!"
Touma sighed relief as he lowered his hand. At least, he was saved somehow. "I bet both of us still didn't have breakfast yet. So, how about we find someplace to eat first?"
"Nice idea. I kinda feel hungry here."
"I already have a place in mind." With that, Touma reached out his hand in front of the girl. "Well then, shall we?"
Knowing why he did, Mikoto could feel her blood filling her cheek again. She lifted up her trembling hand and placed down speechlessly at his hand. The moment Touma gripped her hand back, she felt she was a half-step closer to his heart also.
The spiky-haired boy then attacked her heart with a smile.
"Let's go, Mikoto."
Like everyday morning, some people who chose to relax outside at this time including those who got a little break time before starting to work or study, all wanted to spend the precious time in a nice place for eating breakfast pleasingly. That's the reason why this family restaurant was full of customer at this time.
But even in this busy time when it was so hard to find the free table, the two teens really came here at the good timing.
"Oh, you two!" The receptionist promptly noticed them as the two teens were approaching the entrance of the restaurant. Of course, the receptionist remembered them in no blink. It was the old restaurant which had the promotion for the couple Mikoto and Touma ever came to eat last time. "We just have the free seat! Come in come in!"
With that, Mikoto sent the scary glare ever with the red face ever, too, to the certain boy who held her hand beside her. Afraid not, Touma winked back at her.
"At least, we get the discount price." Touma whispered while the receptionist was leading them to the free table.
"Yeah…And I ever heard that once…Good job." Mikoto says with touchy tone, looking away. This was why he wanted to hold her hand in the first place. "Such an Idiot you are…"
From hearing what she had mumbled to herself, Touma smiled slightly. "Come on, Biri-biri. Last time it was your fault to hold my hand. I'm just taking its opportunity."
"Hmph." Ignoring what he had said, she sat down as the receptionist severed them two glasses of water. Mikoto grabbed one of the glasses, stirring water in the glass. "Okay then, why not you pay for us today?"
"No problem. I won't let you pay for a meal anyway." He replied, grabbing another glass of water.
"Ju-ju-ju." Her lip showed the evil thought as well as her eyes. She stopped stirring and lifted up her index finger, shaking slowly as she was provoking him. "When I said 'today', it means 'today'. Not only this meal."
"W-Wait…" Touma gasped after understanding what she just said. His sweat began to drop. "Y-You didn't plan to… play with my money, did you?"
"But you say you will pay today. A gentleman's word is his bond, you know?"
"B-But Even I s-said I will pay for today b-b-but… I-I-It would be appreciated if you have a little mercy on my allowance in your mind…" As if his blood was running out from him, his face was pale and his sweats dropped more.
"It's up to my mood. And YOUR doing, of course. Hehe." Mikoto leaned to her chair-backrest, holding the glass of water like a winner. She then drank water with a straw pleasingly.
"Yes, yes. I will do anything, sir, Ojou-sama. Just please, use it sparingly." Touma bowed his head to her promptly.
The receptionist, who still stood there, couldn't resist giggling at the scene. "You two are making such a cute couple, you know?"
With that, Mikoto suddenly choked and coughed up the water she just drank.
" *Cough* *Cough* W-W-W-W-Wh-wha-what did y-you just say!?"
"It makes me jealous you two, I said." The receptionist replied her with a smile.
Mikoto completely lost herself with the embarrassment, sparking some electricity from her bang. "I-I-I-I'm NOT his girlfrie-!"
With that, Touma quickly cut her off. "Ah! Well, may you give us the menu, please!? I would like to order some food now."
The receptionist then gave them the menu she was holding, didn't give the attention at Mikoto's unfinished words. "Here you go!"
'That was close…' The certain boy mumbled to himself as he opened the menu the receptionist gave them. He then glanced at the girl in front of him. Mikoto quickly opened the menu and hid her face behind it, calming herself down. 'It's good we still have a discount price but…'
Mikoto then lowered the menu in her hand a little bit, glancing at the certain boy. Their eyes met together a few second before Mikoto quickly raised back the menu paper and hid her red face behind once again.
'…What is this feeling… when she said that she's not…? I never and ever feel this way before…'
With that thought, Touma frowned himself, didn't understand his feeling somehow.
After their order was placed and the receptionist left them, the silent atmosphere began to cover the two. The awkward moment was happening between two teen. Mikoto looked away with the red face she had. She didn't know what to say after there's the other having seen them as the couple. It's too embarrassing for her. But that's not a thing that happened to Touma right now.
The spiky haired boy was looking down at the table, frowning. As he thought about a moment ago, something pressed his chest slightly, making it hard to breathe. His heart beat faster a few seconds and everytime it beat, Touma could say it hurt him a little.
He knew he always saw Mikoto quickly denied something by her nature so many times and he's sure he really used to it. But this was the first time he felt this.
…What could it be…?
Mikoto peeked at the certain boy, noticing his expression. She took a deep breath to wipe her embarrassment away before asking. "W-What's wrong, Idiot?"
"Huh?" Her question dragged him out from his mind. "N-No. Nothing."
"Hmm…" She completely forgot about her embarrassment after received his excuse-like word. His tone of answer made her worry a bit. Whatever it bothered him at this time, she wanted to help. But she couldn't, if she still didn't know what was going on.
After a moment of silent covering them, Mikoto broke the silent with the reminding about what he had to tell her during their relaxing time. "So… Tell me about your eye you had said you will tell me."
The electromaster assumed this was what bothering him at this time.
"W-What?" Touma flinched from her request. This was too sudden for him. He wasn't ready yet. "A-At least, let me eat first, do you…?"
The spiky haired boy didn't want to say about it now. But after he received the half-close-carping-scary hazel eyes of her as a reply… maybe he had to rethink about it.
"Alright then…" Touma sighed giving up. At least, it would be better than the silent between them right now. It was what he had to, anyway.
"Where should I begin…?"
Because it was a busy time of the day while everyone wanted to spend their time in the morning, the two teens had to wait for their order longer than usual. The drop of water rolled down along the glass in front of the certain spiky haired boy, showing how cold the water was. The ice in the glass almost melted into the water as the time was passing by. The thin film of water was being formed under the glass after it was left long enough, reflecting the serious face of the certain boy.
Touma began to tell the information about his eye he had obtained recently.
"I don't know what exactly it's being called… But I think it's 'The Eye of Truth'… The eye that let you see the different between reality and illusion of the world…"
"…The different?" Mikoto remarked with confuse as she supported herself to the table, giving all of her attention to him. "Like what?"
"Like what, eh?" Touma then played with his glass, rotating it slowly. He wasn't sure what it was like either. "Like… when you can't see it, but you know it's real… Like when something is lying before you the entire time… but you don't know it's there… something like that."
Mikoto raised her eyebrow form what she had heard. "…Can you please specify it down a bit? You say like… like meaning to a ghost."
"Oh yeah… Exactly like a ghost. You sure are smart, Biri-biri." Touma glanced back with a surprise that Mikoto could understand it faster than he thought.
"Seriously?"
"Oh well…, it's not like I know much about it either." Said with a mocking tone as he couldn't know how to explain to her. "All I can tell you is when I use this eye, I certainly see the world in different way."
"It makes me see what the others can't see. I can say that it's just nothing but an illusion."
"O…kay..." Not like her words, Mikoto still had many of questions she wanted to ask. "So, what does this 'illusion' thing help you then?"
"Hmm. From my understanding, you can't erase the illusion when you can't see it, right? Simple as that." Answered as Touma leaned back, crossing his arm. He's not good at explaining so he tried to find the right words as best as he could.
"That makes sense… but…" The Electromaster frowned, didn't satisfy in his explaining. It still didn't answer her question. She remembered when he created the illusions that looked alike himself in order to negate all eight parts of magic circle in the same time. She even remembered what the feeling when she gazed at that eye of him. It was not far from as she felt while she gazed the eye of that des-dragon at the first time, including Kirai Shin's eyes.
Knowing what was in her mind, Touma looked down, recalling what The Chosen had told to him about this eye.
"...
...Look into my eyes, Kamijou."
After some lesson about his willingness, the blindfold man then began to unfold his eyes slowly, showing his odd eyes to him. One was the black while another was the red reptile which was his right eye.
The moment when Touma had gazed back into that red reptile eye, his instinct was urged harshly, making him alert. His heart beat faster and his skin was full with sweats. The spiky haired boy stopped his breath from the sudden shock but it was only a second. Not so long, he felt warm replacing the cold in his heart. His body returned to his command and his mind began to relax like he never felt before. Somehow, he felt he was regaining his strength back from all the fight he had before.
"Do you know the meaning of this eye, Kamijou?"
Asked with an echoed sound as The Chosen raised his right hand up above his head. His red eye flashed once time before the view around them had changed. The black surface and the darkness around slowly faded, changing into the wild field of sand and the shiny sun.
"Do you know the different between reality and illusion?"
The wind from surrounding blowing his body gradually, drying his skin from a sweat he had from before. He could feel the hot from the air around him. If he wasn't sure himself that he was in his mind room at this moment, he could say he really stood in middle of the desert right now.
"Do you know any illusion can distract you away from your path while any reality can be bounding you with the truth?"
The Chosen lowered his hand, pushing forward. The snow then began to fall down, more and more, changing the desert into the snowfield. The ground cracked at the far end and the large stone pierced up, forming in the snow mountain. The hot air blew harder but its temped becoming lower. Touma body began to shiver from the cold wind that hit him.
Before the certain boy would shock from the sudden change of weather, The Chosen drew his hand and his eye shined the red light once more. Many of rainbow flowers then grew up from the snow below their feet and spread wide, changing a snowfield to the wild field of flower.
The wind hit Touma again. But it was the gently-softly warm wind, unlike before.
The Chosen then approached him slowly. His lip was showing the smile Touma'd never seen.
"When you don't know which one is illusion or reality anymore, just learn to live with both while believe in yourself that it cannot change you."
Touma stared at The Chosen speechlessly. The Chosen smiled again as he saw his surprise face. The Chosen then placed his hand in front of him.
"Do not stray from your way. No matter how the world you live is changed. No matter how bad the world you turn. No matter how horrible the world you see."
With that, the faint white light was radiated from his hand gently. Touma suddenly felt hot at his right eye. He quickly covered it with his hand but surprised that it wasn't hurt at all.
"W-What is this…?" And when he lowered his hand from his eye, he could see through his hand to the ground below somehow. The red color overlapped his vision. His hand now was transparent somehow. He could feel his right eye now being changed into something else, rather some shape else. But it was only a second before it returned to normal vision again.
"I'm calling it as The Eye of Truth." The Chosen stated the name, lowering his hand down. "At first, it is the eye that Loki had given to you from the deal you had made, the eye that let you see how hopeless the world has, The Eye of Illusion. But that's when you don't know your willingness."
"Now, you have your wills to guide you. So, I thought this is the right time to replace it with my power. It's the eye that let you see the hope among hopeless Loki wanted you to see, the reality among illusion."
"I don't understand." Said promptly with the innocent eye back to him as Touma confused in his words.
The Chosen sighed like he already expected this from the certain boy. "Loki leads everything to the end by his illusions. The illusions people can't notice because it's our own. This eye will let you see through those."
"Like what?"
"Hmm…" The Chosen looked down, trying to point the simple example. "Like those feeling… Hatred. Sadness. Anger… Like those which cannot being seen... Hot, cold, even a ghost... something like that."
Touma could understand only some of them. There's still something he didn't understand. "How does it help me then?"
The Chosen thought about a minute before he chose the proper explanation.
"A man who can see the path clear without an illusion…
...
...is a man who can create the reality, isn't it."
Touma told her about the last sentence The Chosen had told him.
"A man who can see the path clear without an illusion… hmm?" Mikoto leaned back to her chair as she went deep in thought. "So, you try to say, if you really believe what you see through that eye is really existed, you can make it up by your ability in your right hand, right?"
"Yes." Touma nodded from his understanding, raising his hand up. "On the other hand, like I'd always done, if I really believe it's not existed, I can negate it away."
What Touma had told her, it made her understand his right hand and his new power more than before, more or less, but she still had the question. "…I don't think that eye only let you see the illusion…What about those feeling, though? When I stare into that eye… I can tell it's feeling of fear… Not even the normal fear. It's the same feeling that I felt from that bastard."
Touma drank the water in his glass before shrugged his shoulder, answering this question he once asked The Chosen. "Maybe it's true when they said Human always fears in what they don't understand."
"I… see." Instead of satisfy in his answer, Mikoto frowned, sending the carped eyes to him. "…You're hiding something, aren't you…"
"Hmm?" Touma only replied by sending his innocent eyes back.
"Where did you get this eye at the first place?" Mikoto threw back the most bothering question of her at him in the sudden which made him choke out the water he just drank.
"T-That's…" The spiky haired boy hiccupped with a drop of sweat.
"And who told you about all this? I don't think you're the type that can understand this kind of thing by yourself." Pressed him more with her question as Mikoto asked him with scary tone, leaning her face closer.
"U-Umm." Touma turned his eyes away, avoiding her glare with a pale face.
Before Touma had died in the pressure, the waitress saved him in time.
"Sorry for the wait. Your order, sir! Enjoy your meal."
A two dishes was served on the table between the two teens with a smile of the waitress. Touma quickly took his chance.
"A-Anyway, let's eat first! I'm gonna die with starving now." Touma simpered, pointing at his dishes.
"…Hmph." Mikoto decided to hold back for now because she was starving, too. She backed to her seat with the frowning face. "I know enough in what I want to know anyway."
Touma sighed in relief from her satisfaction. But somehow, he felt this was too easy for the most stubborn person like her.
"Don't think you'll get away with this! …But if you really want me to forgive you…" Mikoto grabbed her fork, grinning evilly. Even Touma didn't notice that grin, it made him shiver somehow.
"You MUST spare me this piece!" The Electromaster promptly stabbed forward with her fork but her target wasn't him, it was something in his dish.
"What?" Exclaimed loudly as Touma had seen one of his largest meat was being stolen.
"Ahaha! You're too slow." As soon as she achieved her target, Mikoto quickly put it in her mouth.
"That's not fair, biri-biri!" Yield not, Touma grabbed his fork, too. The certain boy marked the meat in her dish, stabbing forward. As he reached his fork to her dish, Mikoto parried his fork with her spoon.
"Not so easy!" While Touma was busy with Mikoto's spoon, another meat was stolen from his dish by the gab she saw.
"Hu-hu-hu. Alright then." The spiky haired boy now grinned evilly, sending the death-like glare. He held the fork and spoon in both hand tightly. "I will show you how dreadful the rancor of edibles is."
Mikoto beamed brightly as her forehead generated a small spark. She then pointed her fork in her hand at him.
"Bring it on!"
With the noise the two teens made, everyone around turned to the same point. They, including the receptionist and the waitress, couldn't resist giggling at the scene they saw because the two teens didn't eat their own dish. They ate each other's dish.
…The two teens turned the table between them into the war scene of edibles with happiness…
...Hey there, it's been a while... Back to business now... :)
Sorry for a big late. Something had bound my leg this entire time. I had to manage it somehow first.
Anyway, I'm back! So, if possible, I will try to update weekly again.

Mikoto : Time to take it serious, then! (Change into lightning form.)
Touma : (Couldn't see her move anymore.) T-T-That's cheating!
Mikoto : AHAHAHA~~.
