Captain Ramius was not behaving like a captain at the moment, she was behaving like a wife that was afraid that something awful had happened to her husband. It would be an understatement to say that Nartale was not enjoying the way the normal stoic Captain was behaving. "Captain, we know that there was a Blue Cosmos attacked a restaurant in the general vicinity of where Kira and Kagalli were at, but Kira is a coordinator, he is not defenseless. So please calm down."
She shot a glare at Nartale, "I would like to see you act calm when the love of your life was in a place that got attacked, and he hasn't sent a message for two solid days? He could be injured, dead, or in a coma..." Natarle decided to pour some salt into the wound. "Or he found a very sexy woman, and is blatantly cheating on you for the past two days, and simply lost track of time while he is screwing that woman." Murrue knew better than to doubt her husband fidelity.
When the armored jeep finally returned Murrue was the first one make it off the bridge and ran towards where Kira was. She was holding both hands at her hips, and looking at him. "Kira Yamato, where have you been? We haven't heard word from you in two days!?" Kagalli simply took the things she bought and walked over to the ship. "Buying equipment, weapons, ammo, and a few essentials for the crew. Then I met a lovely young couple that had a dream of opening a coffee shop, sounded like a good investment opportunity, so drawing the papers for the business took a little while. My sister and me were even allowed to stay at their home while we finished with all the getting the necesary documents for the coffee shop."
"But why didn't you send a commutation, a message, something!?" Kira just told her that their XO gave a radio silence order before he left for the city, so he couldn't send a communication, message of any kind, because he never got an all clear response from the ship. She seemed to relax a little, and decided to just give him a passionate kiss on his lips and hold him tight.
"Well I have some news to tell you, I hope that you can spend some time alone with me." Now Kira began to wonder what she wanted to talk about. So he followed her to their room aboard the ship. She told him to sit down on the bed, while she took off her coat and shoes and joined him. "Kira, what I am going to tell you, you might find a bit shocking, but I hope you will be happy for us."
"Quit the going around the bushes and tell me?" Kira clearly wanted his wife to relax and the fastest way to do that was, to get to the point. "I am pregnant. We are going to have a baby. With all the way you were missing and my condition, well my time apart from you hasn't been exactly easy to handle." She was expecting him to look unhappy or worried, but he looked positively happy. "So we are going to have a child. We are going to need someone to babysit, since you and me are in this war, and we are going to need someone to stand for Natarle when she has to take charge when you no longer can handle being Captain."
"Well it also means no sex for the first three months, till our child settles in my womb." Kira simply told her that they could always use the other entry port. Murrue blushed when she finally deciphered what he was saying. "No, we can't do that. I need to be able to walk, and with the size of your tool, it would make seating down a real torture."
"At least tell me that you are going to at least kiss and hold your poor sex deprived husband?" Murrue laughed at how he said that. "It's only three months, they will come and go fast, but yes I will kiss my beloved husband and remind him how much I love him." With that out of the way, "So has Mu stopped dragging his feet and asked Natarle out on a date, or is he planning to remain single for the remainder of this decade?" Murrue told him she didn't even think about that.
So after some much needed sleep, and holding his beloved close to him, he woke up bright and early the next day. The bridge crew was a lot happier that he was around. Apparently Captain Ramius really had a mean streak as long and wide as the ship. So having Kira near her sort of made her the sweet gentle person that the kids met back in Heliopolis.
Kira was doing maintenance on the Strike and Mu was watching him. "So Murrue told you? you don't look that affected by it." Kira looked at Mu and smile. "Not in a negative way, no. I am going to be a father, not be sentenced to life in prison. I am actually looking forward to our kid. I wondering what should we name him or her." Mu told him that was not how many husbands reacted. They often felt that their chances of a little nightly action had gone done the toilet.
Kira told him that he could still have plenty of tender loving, he just needed to be creative about it. "Speaking of life sentences, when are you going to ask our grumpy XO out on a date?" This made Mu looked both surprised and shocked. "You mean to tell me you knew I was interested in Natarle? for how long?" Kira told him since she couldn't stop that angry glare on her face, since he couldn't get his eyes off that officer's tits back on Artemis.
Kira told him that pretty much means that she was interested in him, and he knew that the only reason he was doing it was to try and make her feel jealous. "You are not that difficult to figure out, Mu. Honestly this mobile suit's original OS was a lot harder to figure out." Mu told thanked him for his complement, clearly meant as sarcasm.
"No but seriously me, if you are that interested in her ask her out, a few dates, a few little bits of romance, and a few nights of your humping her brains out, it would do the bridge crew a lot of good. Maybe then they will be able to work in peace." Mu simply told him their were no opportunities to do that. When he was not doing maintenance on his mobile armor, he was off fighting some idiot from ZAFT.
"Never mind that until a little less than a year ago, I was one of the people you just called idiots. You can stop with your excuses. Murdock and the other guys hear can probably do the maintenance on your mobile armor better than you can. It's just an excuse, and a poor excuse at that. Honest, people are going to think of you as gay, since you are around guys most of the time and are avoiding Natarle the one woman that is interested in you like she has the plague or something."
Mu told him there were no places where to take out on a date. "Bullshit, there are plenty of places. Make a dinner date in the mess hall, a candle lit dinner on the observation deck, A breakfast together alone in your quarters. Hell their is a cave nearby that has a pristine lake in it, you could two could spend sometimes swimming together. If people can find places to date in a colony, a place where everything is pretty much the same year around, you should be able to find a place to date here."
Murdock decided to tell him that the kid was right, if he had his wife near, you better believe he would find something romantic to do. "Wait, Murdock you are married?" Murdock told him most of his guys in fact were. His wife has a very nice restaurant back in ORB. If they managed to keep the romance in their lives going, even though most of their letters were redacted six ways into hell, then he should have no excuse for not being able to do that. "Hell, Kira pretty much keeps the Captain in cloud nine all the time. If he can do it I don't see a reason you can't do the same with Natarle."
"There is no daycare on the ship." Kira told them that there was one being planned already. One of the refugees from Heliopolis pretty much volunteered to run the daycare, since that is what she did in the colony. "So no more excuses, do you like our XO or not? and if you do, stop stalling your engines and go after her already. Trust us, the bridge crew will thank you for it."
Mu decided to at least try, he walked towards the lift and went to the mess hall. "Natarle should be having breakfast about the this time." He walked into the mess hall and sure enough, there was Natarle Badgiruel eating toast, eggs and bacon with a cup of coffee. "Mind if I have a word with you? Ms. Badgiruel?" Natarle was wondering what bite him. "Sure thing Mr. La Flaga, if you don't mind me finishing my meal while we do. I do happen to have a lot of things to do today."
"Very well, Natarle I have a confession to make. I was only looking at that officer back in Artemis to try to see if you found me attractive at all, also try to free Kira from her grasping clutches." Natarle told him their was no need, since the Captain and the Lieutenant were in very committed to each other. The fact that they were going to have a kid together pretty much proved that they indeed would have no one else besides each other.
"I find you to be a very beautiful, capable, and level headed woman. The sort that could very well help me keep my head on straight. So what I am trying to say is will you be my girlfriend? God almighty that sound really strange at my age." Natarle finished her meal and put her tray back where she was supposed to and finished her cup of coffee. Mu felt like she was pretty much saying no. "Took you long enough, so when and where is our first date?"
"How about dinner by moonlight on the observation deck?" Natarle walked really close to him, and gave him a quick kiss on his lips. "Then it's a date, Mr. La Flaga, better not be late." Mu was pretty happy how it turned out, but on the other hand he felt that Kira was right all along, "All that time in space, and I only now get the nerve to ask her out. I missed all those time in zero G to do fun things with her, boy do I have a lot of catching up to do."
As he reached the pathway to the Strike, Mu just had to thank him and the maintenance crew for the encouragement. "So got any tips on how I am supposed to find candles here?" Murdock told him try the supply closet. The crew always kept a few just in case of emergencies, or for holding a prayer vigil for a dearly departed. "Just don't pick the black ones, alright, nothing kills the mood at a date faster that something that should be either in a funeral or at a meeting that you want to scare the other side into a heart attack."
"Hey, don't aren't for that, they are for religious mass. And no you may not pick my black candles. I might as well take them to my quarters." The crew member was serious? that was everyone present was thinking. "What religion uses black candles?" Mu clearly asked Murdock and Kira. "Don't ask, Don't tell clearly applies in this case." Murdock agreed by nodding his head.
