Disclaimer- I don't own Yu Yu Hakusho, and I'm not making any monetary profit because I wrote this drabble…
Warnings/Notes/Rating-I think you could be safe and rate this T. Implied suicide. Character deaths. Shounen ai. Funny I just realized that this is the first Yusuke/Kuwa thing I've ever written. I don't exactly like this, but don't much hate it either…I was surprised by how sad it came out though. Enjoy…
Saku's Drabble Wars Prompt- Yusuke/Kuwabara- He always knew he'd outlive his friend. Humans have such a short lifespan [compared] to demons. But still on nights like tonight he wished he could see him one last time. [Use Tokio Hotel's "Monsoon" as inspiration.]

A storm from out of nowhere raged across the desert kingdom of Tourin—Hokushin had informed him that they hadn't had this kind of downpour in a little over a hundred years, and that there was bound to be rampaging flood waters in the storm's wake.
His arms outstretched, his palms skyward, Yusuke couldn't bring himself to care about anything but the rain drops crashing down on his bare skin. His long, dark hair was plastered against his neck and shoulders and to his back. His eyes were closed to the world as he experienced every drop cutting into him. The dark markings of his toushin ancestry stood stark and proud to any that happened by him.
That stinging pain made him feel alive, alive like he hadn't felt in years. He hadn't felt alive since Kuwabara was still beside him, still in his arms. All flesh and blood and bone and warmth and love. Their fights. The sex. The compounded memories and often silent conversations. They had been able to talk without talking sometimes … and in those moments they seemed to know each other in ways most lovers were never able to…
It had been nearly twenty years since Botan had came to ferry Kuwabara's precious soul onward to Reikai. The human had died of old age, content, and safe in Yusuke's arms. It was…one of the hardest days of Yusuke's life. He remembered holding Kuwabara's body close long after the body cooled, tears drenching his face. And the world had fallen into stillness and a terrifying silence he wished he could forget. Botan had come back and found him that way. All the life, the light, had disappeared from Yusuke's world the day Kuwabara died…
"I'm coming," Yusuke whispered and let himself fell from the cliff and into the violent waters below.
