Chapter 22
Sayuri was walking past the garden area as she caught sight of Lord Hikaru and Kagome sitting together in an intimate position. She hid behind one of the pillars and instantly masked her aura. She listened intently and held on to every word that was said but what caught her attention was the fact that Lord Hikaru had admitted feeling for the girl. She began to devise an evil plan and with her new information she knew she could manage it. She was peeking over at the couple and only slightly panicked when she saw Kagome heading in her direction to part ways. Swiftly she made her way into a dark corner and hid there until she was completely alone.
Making her way to her room she devised a plan thinking of infinite possibilities. She was jealous of the woman but knew it would do her no good to simply kill her, no she had to break there bond. The girl had insecurities from when she was human and when she was with that mutt Inuyasha she heard about their past together it was only a matter of gathering enough information on the subject and she would bring the Miko down.
Kagome was walking away from Hikaru and sensed his sadness she wished that she wasn't the cause of it and knew in her heart she was. Never before would she had expected to be propositioned by such high ranking demons although she felt his feeling were actually there. If she had never met Sesshomaru she might have actually thought of giving him a chance. She was thinking about how opposite Hikaru looked to Sesshomaru. Hikaru only slightly shorter and had raven black hair, but his eyes were silver and had darker russet colored skin tone. His eyes show so much more emotion than many demons she had met and she wondered why. Before she could continue her thoughts she ran into someone, looking up it was Inuyasha.
"Hey."
"Kagome, I've been looking everywhere for you, I need to talk to you."
"What about?"
"The tournament, apparently they eliminated suitors for you finding them unworthy."
"What!? Who?"
"It's too long a list; I'll tell you who's left."
"Tell me!"
"Alright, alright. There's Hikaru, Erai, Koga, and Sesshomaru."
"Thank Kami, Sesshomaru didn't get voted off."
"No, he didn't but I was because they didn't want a feud against brothers, yada yada."
"Damn it Inuyasha you scared me to death!"
"I'm sorry, but don't you think it's odd that there are only four left and three are Lords?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well obviously the council has decided that you have to choose one of four rulers except Erai whoever that is."
Kagome began to ponder for a moment and was beginning to understand. They wanted her to better themselves if she chooses a Lord then either way they win. They wanted her for her breed not caring who she went to as long as she produced power heirs! How dare they! No matter because she would choose Sesshomaru for love not power. She didn't plan on being pupped anytime soon, so they could forget it.
"I understand what you're saying; I'm going to speak with Sesshomaru about it."
"Heh, good luck my brother might agree with you."
"What do you mean?"
"Kagome, it's in our nature to want our females pupped, we can't control it."
"Sesshomaru would never force that on me."
"No but, you might hurt his feelings in rejecting him."
"But I'm not rejecting him; I'm simply just not ready to have kids yet!"
"Pups Kagome they would be pups."
"Right. Whatever!" She said and stormed off to find Sesshomaru to settle the issue.
