This is chapter twenty-five of Harry's first year. I don't own any of the characters except for the ones I do own Enjoy.
The school year started back up quickly and quietly. The students returned, and classes went on as normal. Hermione was leading the charge to figure out the mystery of the third floor but wasn't having any luck without Ron of Harry's help. She on occasion forces Harry to help her look for clues involving Nicolas Flamel but Draco or Neville are there to save him. Harry does his best to stay out of the whole affair but when Hagrid invited both him and Hermione to his hut for a surprise. Harry couldn't refuse the sweet giant.
"Are you really about to head down there after dark." Neville watches Harry get dress.
"It won't hurt besides I ask Professor McGonagall and she gave me permission to head down there." Neville nodded. He was happy that his little brother wouldn't be getting in trouble for anything.
"What about Granger?"
"She was supposed to ask but I don't care if she did." Harry heads for the exit. "I'm going to stop by Uncle Sev you need anything from him." Neville nodded his head and wave his little brother out the door. Harry was halfway to the dungeons when Dumbledore appeared.
"Ah, Mr. Potter what brings you out here so late." Harry jumped when he appeared out of the shadows.
"I was going to visit my uncle sir and then head over to see Hagrid."
"Did you get permission, Mr. Potter?"
"Yes, sir Professor McGonagall gave me permission to go see Hagrid I was just stopping by.
"If she gave you Permission to go see Hagrid then you should head down there to go visit him before it gets too late."
"Yes, sir sorry to have wasted your time." Harry leaves the headmaster it was only when he was outside Hagrid hut did he notice how weird he felt. "I should stop by Uncle Sev to get a checkup." Harry looked around at the old beat up hut. He could tell parts had been replaced and needed to be replaced. The grass surrounding the hut was dead or burnt. When knocked he could hear Hermione inside as well as "Ron?!"
He was sitting beside her trying to eat on of Hagrid's biscuits. He waved at him like it was completely natural that he was there. Harry takes a seat between him and Hermione.
"Hey mate a long time no see." He gulps down the way to sweet tea as Harry could tell. "Glad to see you aren't hanging out with that snake anymore." He sucks on the hard-biscuit listening to Hermine try and get information out of Hagrid.
"Hagrid why did you invite us here" He ignores the glare Hermione shoots his way.
"Well, I have a surprise I wanted to show you three" his jolly smile stretched even wider when he reviled.
"Is that a dragon?" Harry heard Ron squealed in excitement. Blabbing about what type it is and how his brother Charlie works with one. Hermione tries to study it. "Hagrid what are you think. Hogwarts could get shut down for this" Harry glares at Hagrid and storms out the hut running as fast as he could to dungeons. Never noticing the look Hermione and Ron gave each other.

He runs around a sharp corner right into Conrad and Percy.
"Percy, I need your help, more importantly, I need you older brothers help." Percy looks at the out of breath first year and to Professor McGonagall.
"So, what you're saying Mr. Potter is that you went down to Hagrid's hut you saw Ms. Granger as well as Mr. Weasley and a baby dragon." She looks at the two boys like they had lost their minds. "Well as for as I'm concerned you are a liar."
"Excuse me!?" Harry and Percy watch the woman remove herself from the desk and walk to the floo.
"Mrs. Weasley are you there." She watches both boys glare at her.
"Yes, Minerva is there a problem." She dressed in her sleeping robes.
"No, I just want to speak with Ron" She looks back hoping to see both boys in a panic.
"Oh, he is asleep right now but perhaps you could call tomorrow." She watches as Severus drags both Hermione and Ron into the office. "I'm stepping over." Severus glare silenced the two squirming students instantly.
"I found these two sneaking up to the castle. I also informed Hagrid that he would have to give up the Dragon." Molly steps out of the floo. "I would start writing to the brat that works with dragons unless you want Hagrid to go to jail.
Minerva was left speechless until Molly hopped through.
"I will take him home. I am so sorry for wasting your time." Her glare could melt all the Arctic ice. "Ronald Bilius Weasley wait till your father gets home." She started to drag the pale boy threw the floo when Madam Conrad appeared.
"I did call my mother to retrieve him since he wasn't supposed to stay with you anyway." Ron stared down in shame. She didn't have to say a word he just walked to her.
"I want you to head directly to your room and you will not speak to anyone understand." He nods quietly. "Good now go." He is gone before Molly could say goodbye. "Mrs. Weasley what do you think you are doing. You know he isn't to return here until he is approved. You could have gotten him arrested or killed." She glared at the immature woman. "Pitiful." She left just as elegant as she appeared.
"Harry, Perfect Percy I believe it is best you both head back to your dorm." The boys flew out the chairs and room before Minerva could stop them. "Minerva stay focus on of your Lions sunk out and plan to help Hagrid hide a dragon knowing it could have gotten Hogwarts shut down." Hermione goes to speak but is silence by Severus's glare. "I already removed twenty points for sneaking out and ten for kicking a professor and another ten for running from a professor. Your turn." He leaves the room in a hurry knowing that if he wasn't in there Minerva would be forced to punish the girl for the point lose alone.

"So, Minerva came to you in the middle of the night to try and force you into leaving Harry alone." Filius looks over to Pomona and laughs. "She was trying to get hexed right." Pomona nodded along wondering when Minerva became such a follower.
"She didn't even punish Granger and in fact, she gave her points for trying to help a friend." They stare at him as he was about to explode. "She told me to stop whining when I brought it up at last weeks waste of time meeting number who knows."
"I'll make sure to deduct some points later on in class." Pomona laughed at the look Severus gave her.
"I believe she still sees me as a student because she would have never spoken to one of you that way." He takes a sip of his tea and tries to calm himself down. "That woman and Albus it like they wanted me to see Harry as a mini James Potter." Filius drops his tea while Pomona spits hers out. "What?"
"That's its Severus they want Harry seen as a mini James." Filius calming down when a young student ran into the room screaming about a dog. They rushed into the hall hearing students scream in terror. The Slytherin common room door was open. Students of all house where running in terror. Draco stopped pulling Pansy seeing Severus.
"There is a Cerberus going crazy upstairs. It moved to fast for everyone to get away, so some kids are still up there. Perfect Conrad had led us down here, but Percy stayed to help the others." Severus was down the hall before Draco could finish.
"Thank you, Heir Malfoy you should get her, to safety." Filius rush to go help Severus while Pomona went to retrieve madam Pomfrey.
Severus made it upstairs to see a dead Quirrell and multiple injury students crying out in pain.
"Harry!" the panic was clear in Severus's voice.
"I read that music calms it but now I'm too afraid to stop help." The twins were playing two cheap yet elegant silver flutes while Harry was playing the new viola Severus had given him as a late birthday gift. The growling creature was focused on the three boys ready to tear into them.
"Hold on" Severus summon a music box the twinkling chimes send it to the ground snoring loudly. "Are you three alright."
"Yes, sir but Hermione needs Madam Pomfrey." Percy comes down from the third floor carrying the unconscious girl.
"Percy "the twins rush to check on their older brother.
"I'm fine, so is Hermione she just bumped her head while trying to run away.
"Can you tell us what happened here" Filius is throwing every creature sleeping hex and charm he knew at the large puppy.
"Severus we should get them to Madam Pomfrey."
"Your right" both Severus and Filius create gurneys for all the students that could walk and send the one that could down to Madam Pomfrey with the twins and Harry leading the way. Hours later all the injured children were patched up. The student that fled to the dungeon and basement were escorted back to there dorms and are currently trying to sleep. The professor on the other hand.
"Albus she needs to be punished she got over fifty students injured and someone killed." Professor Sinistra was leading the charge to get Granger removed.
"Now now Aurora it couldn't be that now could it." Albus was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He could either kick her out or lose his staff.
"No this has gone too far." Filius stands.
"Thank you, Filius. Aurora perhaps this was just an accident."
"No, I meant you protecting her." Albus froze hearing those words. "Fifty-seven injured and one dead Albus. We have to call the Aurors. Did anyone pick Quirrell up." The room went quiet most had no idea that the one killed was a professor. Albus stood up the look of shock was replaced by a look of anguish.
"I will handle it all and Hermione will be suspended. Minerva, we can work out the details later." He walked out of the office with a look of defeat.
The final few weeks go by quickly. Many students are ready to leave Hogwarts and leave this terrible year behind.
"I understand that this year was a challenge, but I must say how proud of you all I am." All the professor's nod in agreement. "I want you all to know that nothing like this year will happen again in Hogwarts and for all those returning you will have nothing to fear. To all those who are leaving us, we wish you luck, but we all know you will do excellent." Albus took his seat as the student applause and the wands lowered quickly.
"You did well Albus." Pomona sipped her tea.
"Yes, it was personal and professional." Filius looked over to see Severus still had his wand out. "Severus relax Albus isn't going to pull one of his usual stunts this year." Which was true. With Lucius Malfoy sitting just three chairs down from him he couldn't do a thing.
"This year's winners of the house cup is the Slytherin. Let's give them a round of applause." The night ended quickly with all the children having a blast and that morning the student loaded up onto the train to start their summer.
