Chapter 24: Another Nightmare

As Toby heads back inside with Elisa, he notices that his adoptive father was standing in the corner of the cave wall, looking worried.

The young wolf walks up to Diego and asked

"Hey dad, Are you OK?"

Diego looks back and replies

"Yeah...I'm OK son"

Toby knew that Diego was not OK due to the sad expression on his face which really worries the young wolf.

Toby then nuzzles his dad and replied

"It's OK dad, You can tell me, I'm your son"

Diego looks back at the wolf and smirked as he chuckles

"Why am I feeling deja vu son?"

"Maybe because you said that to me today" Toby laughed.

The two mammals laughed with each other until they settle down and Diego then replied

"Well...to be honest son, I'm worried about your mother"

"I see...With the cubs nearly on the way" Toby nodded.

"I hope she's OK" Diego replied.

"She'll be fine Diego, We'll get back to her before the cubs are born" Toby assured.

Diego looks at his son and nuzzles him as he replied

"Thank you son"

"No worries Diego" Toby smiled at the sabre.

"I kinda nervous about having my own kids" Diego admitted.

"I see...Does this mean we're through as father and son?" Toby asked as he felt worried

"What? No son! Never! I would never abandoned you, Not now, not ever, Sabre or not you're still my son and I love you so much just like I love your mother so much" Diego assured the young wolf.

Toby smiles and said

"Thanks dad, That really cheers me up"

"Anytime son, Now come on, We gotta get some sleep" said Diego.

"Ok" Toby replied

Soon the duo went to their resting spots as they soon went off to sleep for the night.

Toby then wakes up to find that he was in a dark crimson like forest.

"A...Am I dreaming again?" Toby gasped.

Soon he hears cubs crying throughout the forest as the young wolf looks around to see that there was no one around.

"H-Hello? Anyone here? Hello?!" Toby called out.

Soon he sees a cave and he hears the crying noise again as it was coming from the cave itself. So Toby decided to enter the cave and to his surprise, he saw Shira with three baby cubs close to their mother.

"Mum?" Toby gasped.

Shira looks up but didn't smile at Toby instead she replied

"Who are you?"

Toby looks at Shira with alarm as he stuttered

"M-Mum? It's me, Toby"

"I don't know you, Why are you here?" Shira demanded.

"I...I'm your son" Toby sadly replied.

"I have no son...All I have is our children...Isn't that right Diego?" Shira replied.

Toby sees Diego growling at him as the sabre stands near Shira.

"D-Dad..." Toby gasped.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Diego growled.

"Dad, It's me Toby, Your adoptive son!" Toby whimpered.

"No...You're not my son...You're nothing but an abomination" Diego growled as he hits Toby down.

"D-Dad" Toby sobbed.

Suddenly Victor appears in front of him and grins evilly at the young wolf

"You gotta destroyed them Toby, They must pay" Victor whispered deviously

"No!" Toby refused.

"If you don't, The kitty cat will crush you" Victor warned.

"I will not hurt my family" Toby shouted.

"You have no family, You're all alone" Victor evilly laughed.

"Nooooooooooooo!" Toby screamed as he lunges at Victor but stabs his claws at Victor.

Suddenly Victor was slowly changing into Diego as Toby gasped in alarm.

"DIEGO! NOOOO!" Shira screamed.

"D-Dad! I'm so sorry!" Toby stuttered in horror.

Diego didn't saying anything but slowly dies in Toby's arms.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Toby tearfully screamed.

Suddenly Toby woke up, panting heavily as he looks to see Diego still alive and he was back to where he was.

Soon he ran out in tears as he lies down near the beach, sobbing.

"I...I...I don't know if I tell Diego everything...I know he told me he won't abandon me after the cubs are born...but...but...I'm not sure about everything I do anymore"

Toby then heads back to the cave as he then sees Elisa awakening.

"Hey Elisa..." said Toby.

"Hey puppy wuppy, What's the matter?" Elisa asked.

"Nothing, I just went out to get some fresh air" Toby replied.

"In the middle of the night?" Elisa asked.

"Yeah why?" Toby asked.

"Nothing" Elisa replied.

"OK...Goodnight Elisa" Toby replied as he makes him way back inside.

Elisa worringly watches Toby going back to Diego and sleeps next to him as the female wolf knew that something is wrong with Toby.

Elisa then sadly sighs as she heads inside and goes back to sleep as she was still concern for the grey wolf.

The next early morning before the sun begins to rise, Sid wake up to hear someone sobbing softly.

Sid turns to see Rosy, crying as she was bundle up like a ball of fur as Sid sadly looks at her daughter before going up to her.

"Rosy?" Sid softly said as he kneels next to his daughter.

Rosy looks up at her father as her eyes was watering with tears as she cries.

"M-Morning daddy" Rosy sobbed.

"Rosy...What's the matter?" Sid worryingly asked.

"I'm sorry daddy...It's just...I...I...I miss mummy so much" Rosy cried.

Sid then picks Rosy up and puts her on his lap as he comforts his daughter.

"There, there sweetie. It's alright, We'll find mummy" Sid comforted.

"I-I know daddy...I just miss her so very much...I miss her hugs...her kisses good night...her bedtime stories...and I miss her lullabies" Rosy sobbed as she nuzzles her face on Sid's shoulder with tears.

"I miss mummy too sweetie...But everything is gonna be Ok...I promise...Do you want me to sing you a lullaby?" Sid asked.

"Y-Yes please daddy" Rosy sobbed.

Sid then places her daughter next to Elisa who was soundly asleep as he quietly sang a lullaby to Rosy who soon falls asleep.

Sid smiles as he was relieved that his daughter was soundly back to sleep.

Poor Toby! His nightmare was horrible!

Will Toby confess to his father about his secrets?

What will Sid do now since he has cheered Rosy up
