Hello everybody. I'm sorry for the shortness of this chapter, but I realized recently that it had been nearly a month since I'd updated and I thought you guys deserved a chapter, even a short one. It has been difficult to find time to write lately, but I'm not dropping or abandoning this story, so no worries there. I work on it as often as RL allows me.

msclever9: It was mostly buildup last chapter, and there's a bit of buildup this chapter as well, but next chapter gets VERY intense and I've been really looking forward to writing it. I've started the process and I'm already getting into some severe scenes! Whoops! I hadn't meant to call Thor a Justice Leaguer. I just started lumping everyone together as Justice Leaguers in my head, so sorry for that. Hope you enjoy this update and I'll try getting the next one out sooner!

Gift Horse: My gosh well I'm glad you thought it was worth it! lol. I hope you're back to sleeping nomrally! ;P I never did see the movie, but I am a BIG fan of the show. This last season has been epic in my opinion and I'm eagerly awaiting the 5b. Hahaha, indeed it's good to have Kid Omega backing him up. It's helped Raven make up her mind at least. :) Dan sucks. Lol. He's a horrible being. Glad we're in agreement. XP

Sonna: First of all, I LOVE that you called it a book. That just made me super pleased. X) Secondly, no, I have not stopped writing it. RL has just gotten a little hectic lately, but I'm hoping things will calm down here in the next few weeks and I can have some peace and time to sit down and properly write. :) My gosh! You spent your last week of summer reading this?! 8O I am so honored! Thank you! I will try and update sooner with this next one. Hope you enjoy this update in the meantime!

BaconLover17: I'm glad you love the story! It's my baby and it's always wonderful to hear people appreciate it. And I'm glad my writing and characterizations are coming through. Thank you so very much!

Alright, everyone, as I said, I will try to update quicker with this next update. Until then, enjoy this one!

There must have been a squad nearby, because it was several dozen small fighters ships and one larger battleship that appeared above the canopy of trees, hovering above the chasm of destruction that Danny's wail had created.

Danny's eyes flicked up, wail ending as the new threat appeared. His fists clenched and he grinned excitedly. He wasted no time, flying up into the fire ship above him, phasing the pilot out with him and tossing the Talent Scout at a second ship. The Talent Scout crashed through the glass of the second ship and into the second pilot, causing the ship to spin out of control and crash into the forest floor in a blaze of red and yellow fire.

The battleship higher above, meanwhile, opened a door and released the Graduates within, soaring down towards him like bullets. An explosive arrow was shot at him from one of the descending Graduates, but he phased through and past it, speeding up to meet the first Graduate, a pink haired girl with wings that he vaguely recalled from the training exercise on the Talent Scout ship. She threw some dust at him right as he approached, which spattered all over his face, but he paid it no heed. He saw her look surprised and alarmed that her dust had no effect. She tried to turn and dodge him, but he was too fast for her. He grabbed her by the throat, squeezing until he heard a satisfying crunch, then tossed her limp body careless and moved on to his next target.

Below, Thor had run off to check on his comrades, finding the Flash laying on his back, a mess of broken bones, bruises, and blood, the wail having nearly crushed him to death. If it hadn't been for his speed, it would have not only killed him, but Batman as well. The Flash had taken the brunt of the attack, managing throw Batman out of the line of fire in the nick of time. Thor knelt by his companion, taking stock of his wounds.

"Batman! The Flash will not survive if he does not get medical attention now," Thor told the Justice Leaguer.

Batman came staggering out from the trees, looking the Flash over with worry. He glanced up into the sky, watching as body after lifeless body started raining down from the sky—both Talent Scout and Graduate alike. He was conflicted on allowing Danny to continue wreaking havoc, but his concern for his friend overruled his sense of justice, so he nodded at Thor, and the two made their way out of the area, but not before Batman called on some much needed backup.

Danny fought with a rabid need to see everyone and everything in his path utterly obliterated. He had never felt such raw emotion, and it was both terrifying and exhilarating. His body trembled with thrill every time his foes became still, and with every kill, he felt his human self descend deeper and deeper inside of himself, the connection between them fading.

Suddenly something hit him with such force that it threw him off balance, having to catch himself midair. As he looked up into the sky, he discovered that a girl with green skin and long red hair had done what he could only describe as a lower powered Wail at him.

"The Savior wants to speak with you," she said to him.

He chuckled. "Funny. I have some things I want to say to him, too. Except this time, we'll do it on my terms," he said, rushing at her.

She placed her hands on either side of her head, closing her eyes and concentrating to up a purple shield to block him, saying, "Your resistence isn't necessary. He just wants to help us."

He slammed into the shield, but it didn't break like he had hoped. With a growl of frustration, he poured power into his hands and began digging his fingers into the shield, slowly but surely breaking its integrity.

Her eyes widened in alarm and she began concentrating harder on the shield to keep him at bay, but he had already worked his fingers in and had a grip, slowly prying the shield open, body buzzing with power so strongly that the air was static with it. As she quickly realized that he was going to get through, she let the shield burst outwards, pushing him back. He rolled in the air, catching himself quickly. He righted himself right as a Graduate in a metal suit with wings descended on him, landing a punch to Danny's cheek and making him lose stability again. While spinning out of control, the green-skinned girl telepathically brought up trees, rock, and debris from the ground below and brought it up at Danny's flailing body, making him tumble and spin even more. The armored boy went into for another punch, but Danny formed half a clone, still connected to his body, which caught the boy's punch before he could land it and squeezed, crushing the armor and the fist in his hand. The boy cried out in pain, then screamed even more when Danny sent electric currents through the armor, electric green dancing on silver. The clone separated then, grabbing the head of the boy and flying him down to the ground, slamming him into a rock. Armor splintered, bone broke, and blood spewed out from beneath him, getting on his glove and sleeve.

His other self meanwhile rushed up to the green-skinned girl a second time, building up an ectoplasmic orb in front of his fist to prepare for a second shield. She didn't bother trying another one, however, instead facing him head-on. She flew at him as well, maneuvering her body out of the way of the orb and going to punch him in the sternum, but he'd already gone intangible. He then released the orb, allowing the raw energy to explode and throw her off her balance. He wasted no time chasing after her, grabbing her mid-spin by the neck and squeezing. She had prepared for this, however, her body feeling like he was trying to crush pure steel. He sneered in irritation and was about to turn his free hand intangible and reach in to her body and start pulling out whatever he could grab, but she'd caught on to the fact that, while he had her, he wasn't intangible. She reared back a leg and got him with her knee in the groin, making him release her with an "oof!" as he curled in on himself. She then kneed him again in the face, sending him backwards.

He caught himself quickly, laughing as he did. "Now we're talking!" he laughed breathily, "You're pretty tough. Don't let me get my hands on you again, though. It'll be the last thing you do," he said darkly.

She glared at him, eyes glowing green like his, but something just past him drew her attention. He morphed a second head on the back of his neck to look behind him while still keeping an eye on her, spotting immediately what had caught her attention. He morphed the second head back him and swirled his ghostly body around two bright red beams that had been aimed at his back, slithering through them like a snake as they followed his movement.

Superman flew down from the clouds, red beams flowing out of his eyes and at the ghost boy. The superhero paused in his attack. "Phantom, it doesn't have to come to this."

"Don't patronize me!" Danny snapped, eyes flashing brightly.

"I'm not trying to," Superman said, trying to reason with him. "I want to help, but if you won't accept it, then I'll have no choice. I'll have to stop you."

Danny chuckled. "Oh yeah? There's just one problem with that, Superman. I know you can't stop me. You didn't then, and you can't now."

Superman looked puzzled, but he sighed sadly. "So bet it."

Then, suddenly, Superman vanished from his sight. Danny blinked in confusion, swinging his head left and right to try to relocate the superhero. Then something extremely solid crashed into his back, sending him hurtling towards the ground. He landed with a heavy thud, dust spreading out from beneath him in a puff. Before he could even try to pick himself back up, he was punched again in the stomach, making him grunt with pain. He growled in his throat and released a pulse of energy, pushing Superman off of him. Temporarily freed, he picked himself up out of the crater, but was knocked off his feet again when Thor's hammer crashed into his back. Danny was flung into the trees, trunks crunching and splintering as his body cut through them. The green-skinned girl also suddenly joined the fray, striking him mid-air with a punch that sent him sideways.

When he finally landed, he shakily picked himself up, anger bubbling up in his veins. He heard a small snap, alerting him to Thor behind him. He whirled and released a wail, the ground rumbling with the force of it. Thor slammed his hammer into the ground, holding on for all he was worth. Danny didn't make it last long however; he still had Superman to deal with. He was so preoccupied with relocating the veteran hero that he'd nearly completely forgotten the green-skinned girl. He turned, seeing her arm pulled back, descending on him from above, eyes glowing green. His eyes narrowed at her and he let her hit, except instead of her fist hitting flesh, he phased through her fist and into her body, overshadowing her.

She fought him; harder than anyone he'd ever overshadowed before, and he guessed that she must have been some sort of telepath to be able to fight him that strongly, but in the end, he won hger body over, taking it as his and tucking her in some corner of her mind where she wouldn't interfere.

"That's fun," he said in her voice, testing out what he could with her. He'd never attempted to use the powers of any of the Graduates he'd overshadowed before; being too concerned that he might accidentally cause them damage or burn them out, but now he was ready to experiment. The first thing he noticed was the telekinesis, so he decided to give it a swing. He raised a hand, concentrating her power on a boulder down below. Nothing happened at first, so he concentrated harder, pushing until it began to shiver a bit. That small movement, however, was drawing much more energy out of her than he thought it would, burning her out more rapidly than he was expecting. He stopped, not yet ready to dispose of his new suit.

Suddenly Superman appeared, fist poised, a regretful expression on his face, although whether his regret was towards Danny or towards the Graduate he was occupying was unclear. Either way, it wasn't stopping him from attacking, and Danny had no interest in pity or sympathy. Danny went intangible, letting the Kryptonian pass through him harmlessly while Danny himself flipped in the air, grabbing Superman by the ankle.

"You might be invincible from the outside, Superman… but how tough will you be without your bones?" he asked wickedly.

"NO!"

Danny let out a retching cough, green and red blood spluttering out of his mouth, dropping Superman and phasing out of the green-skinned girl as he suddenly started plummeting.

"What are you doing?!" Danny growled at his human half furiously when he felt white rings form at his center, pain emanating from them as they appeared. "STAY IN THERE!" he roared, forcing the rings to disappear again and catching himself in the air before he'd hit the ground.

"I hate you. I hate you. Let me out!" his human half wailed, fighting against himself now in earnest, but he was too tired to draw the white rings out again, and had really only managed to do so before since he'd had the element of surprise.

"You put yourself in there, now deal with it," his ghost half hissed, turning his attention to his attackers that were still encircling him.

More Talent Scout ships with more Graduates were hovering overhead, Graduates jumping out to join the fray, dividing Superman and Thor's attention between them and Danny. Danny decided to use this to his advantage, racing up and overshadowing the first Graduate he came across. This one had control over ice, so Danny combined their powers together, letting shards of ice shoot out of his hands at the enemies above like rain. He had to mostly had to use his own power, however, as he found that using the powers of those he was overshadowing was extremely difficult and hard to maintain.

Most were able to defend themselves from the ice attack, but other Graduates weren't so lucky, becoming impaled by the onslaught and dropping limply to the ground below. Danny waited until he felt the entirety of the Graduate's energy spent before he phased out of the now lifeless body and moved on to the next.

The next had control of lighting and electricity, so he used their power to permeate the air with electricity while he zapped everyone he came into contact with with his own electrical powers. Once that Graduate was burned out, he moved on to a girl who appeared to be able to turn herself into a winged panther, using her to rip to shreds the first Graduate to come close. Since he couldn't actually use her powers, he just let himself emit heat and burn her from the inside out. Then he moved on. He came upon the green skinned girl again, overshadowing her again and using her to telekinetically toss a few small rocks up at some oncoming Graudates. Those shots missed, however, and since her powers were too difficult for him to use (he couldn't even access the telepathic powers), he burned her out, too, and moved on.

He had created an efficient pattern for himself before it was abruptly interrupted. Right as he overshadowed his next victim, a bolt of lightning came crashing down from above and smote his new host. While the lightning couldn't really hurt him, it did kill hist host, forcefully knocking him out and sending him spiraling in the air. When he righted himself, he got a facefull of Thor's hammer, sending him plummeting towards the ground below. He landed harshly on his back, but he quickly shook it off, flying up and searching with tunnel-vision focus for Thor. He spotted him shortly surrounded by a circle of Graduates. Danny released a short, but powerful wail, crushing them between the wail itself and the ground. Most of them couldn't take the pressure, and simply flattened, but others were just stunned; Thor being one of these. He looked to be in pain, face scrunched in a grimace and unable to pick himself back up. Danny flew down to him, phasing into him and easily assuming control of his body, which, now that he was occupying it, he could feel had broken a great deal of bones in the Avenger's body. It didn't make a difference to Danny, however.; Thor was still capable of what he needed him to be. Danny flew up off of the ground in Thor's body, eyeing the minefield of Graduates blocking his path before opening his mouth and wailing.

This was by far the strongest he'd ever unleashed (mostly for Superman's benefit), and it came up on the Graduates, Superman, and the Talent Scout ships so quickly, suddenly, and powerfully, that none of them were able to get out of its path. It swooped up around them, catching them in its powerful waves, each wave like being smashed against steel walls. The ships creaked, bent, and broke under the onslaught, Graduate's were carried by the waves, unable to defend themselves, until their bodies became limp, still being carried. Superman, too, was swept up by the wail at first until he turned and flew against it. He was able to fly against it, but what he didn't realize was that Danny was using the wail as a decoy. Superman's eyes widened when he suddenly saw the wail stop and Thor's hammer slam against the side of his head. Superman's head snapped to the side and he fell downwards with the force of it. Danny chased after him, swinging the hammer at him and hitting him again, slamming him into the ground. Then he hit again, square in the chest. Then again, and again, and again. Danny crushed him under the weight of the hammer until he was drawing blood, then continued until Superman stilled.

Breathing heavily from adrenaline, Danny looked at Superman for a moment, ensuring he was dead before he flew up into the air at a new, record speed for himself, rocketing into the sky and past the stratosphere and into space with Thor as his spacesuit. It was time to find the Savior.

I feel awful about this chapter, honestly. Danny killed A LOT of people. Dan is a horrible being.

Now, just to clarify, Danny would NOT have been able to wield Thor's hammer had he not been possessing Thor.

Until next time.
