"Korra let go." Mako said, finding that being the little spoon for his girlfriend was making it really uncomfortable for him to sleep.
"No," Korra said stubbornly into her boyfriend's back.
"Korra," Mako sighed.
"No!" Korra snapped again as she tightened her grip around Mako's waist.
Mako went quiet then. He was to be diploid tomorrow morning and stay overseas for two years. During his training they both knew he would have to leave for field exercises afterwards.
"Korra you know we have to talk about this. Or you can let go and let me sleep on my back like usual since I know I won't be able sleep on the plane." Mako tried again.
"No!" Korra stubbornly snapped again.
"That's it." Mako said before rolling over on top of Korra.
"Get your fat ass off me, I can't breathe! You're too heavy!" Korra screamed as she started to beat at Mako's back and try to push him off.
"Are you going to let me sleep normally tonight?" Mako asked as her crossed his arms over his crest and stayed where he was.
"Yes, now get off me!" Korra yelled as she tried to push Mako off her again.
"That's the first time I've heard that from you." Mako mumbled as he rolled off, receiving a slap on the arm from his girlfriend.
Once Mako was situated comfortably on his back, he thought he was finally going to get to sleep, but was soon proven wrong once he felt Korra reattach herself to him. "Really?"
"Shut up." Korra mumbled.
"I said I would always call when I get a chance and you're driving me to the airport, now would you stop the clingy-ness? I need to sleep. My flight leaves at six o'clock in the morning, we both need to sleep."
"No." Korra responded.
"Why not?!" Mako snapped, his patients and exhaustion running thin.
"Because I know if I don't annoy before you leave, you won't remember why you love me so much and can't live without me." Korra admitted as she rested her chin on Mako's chest and looked at him.
"That's stupid." Mako said as he shook his head and looked back at her. "Why would I ever forget why I love you?"
"And can't live without me?" Korra added quickly as she pushed herself up a little and pointed at him.
"And can't live without you," Mako added while rolling his eyes. "But, you knew this day was coming when I started training."
"I know." Korra said as she rolled her eyes and laid her head back down on her boyfriend's chest. "I'm just going to miss you, that's all."
"I'm going to miss you too." Mako said as he rubbed Korra's back. "But I'm sure my pillow misses cuddling with you." He added, receiving another slap from his girlfriend, but not regretting what he said.
After a few moments of silence, Korra moved to look up her now half-asleep boyfriend. "Hey Mako, speaking of your pillow."
"Yes I bought a new bottle of my cologne so you can spray it on my pillow while I'm gone." Mako mumbled in response.
"Ok," Korra said as she rested her head back down. "I'm going to miss you."
Mako rubbed her arm before leaning forward to kiss the top of her head. "I'm going to miss you too."
