Finally Here (Part 2)

Adam (Nine Years Old)

Bree (Eight Years Old)

Chase (Seven Years Old)

Donald smiled as he typed in his last response for Tasha. Then he shut his laptop off and leaned back, mind beginning to wander. "Mr. Davenport" he heard a voice call out. Donald's train of thought was quickly stopped and he turned to look at the person who had called him. "I'm hungry" Adam stated, and rubbed his stomach. "Alright then, we'll eat dinner" Donald said and turned towards the capsules. The two boys ran to their capsules and awaited their food, but Bree lagged behind. "Bree are you going to eat?" Donald asked her softly. She shook her head and dashed off somewhere. Donald sighed, he would have to talk to her later, for right now he had a very hungry Adam to deal with. "Can we eat yet?" Adam cried out. Donald then pushed the large green button and watched the two boys gobble the food pellets that poured down from above.

-Time Skip (One Hour)-

Adam tugged on his shirt and turned when he heard the sound of slippers shuffling by. Chase let out a soft yawn. "Sleepy huh?" Adam asked. Chase nodded and rubbed his eyes. Bree then walked into the lab and stood next to her brothers. "Alright, time to go to sleep" Donald told the kids and ushered them into their capsules. A few good nights were exchanged before the lab slowly descended into darkness.

The soft whirring of the machines at work filled the dark night. Adam snored loudly on one side and Chase slept soundly on the other. Bree however stood wide awake as her brothers continued to sleep. She regretted skipping dinner. He stomach grumbled loudly in agreement. Bree sighed and closed her eyes, maybe she could sleep it off or at least till morning.

-Morning-

The elevator doors opened with a soft sizzle as Donald walked into the lab. The three bionics had just awoken. "Mr. Davenport" Bree cried happily when she caught sight of him. In a second she was by his side. "Can we please have breakfast now..." Bree asked. "Sure" Mr. Davenport said. Bree grabbed hold of his arm and used her super speed to bring him to the other side of the room. Whoa" Donald breathed, still not getting used to being super speeded. He feed the three kids and once they were done Bree was less grouchy. But still she was in a mood.

Training had begun, and the three were practicing their abilities. Chase was using his force field, while Adam threw barrels at him and Bree had to super speed back and forth from the poles before the timer ran out. As Donald watched, he noticed how Bree was different. She was slower then usual, and this sudden change caused the inventor to worry. The timer blared once again and Bree was off by ten points. Bree sighed, and walked over to Donald who had waved her over. "Bree, are you okay?" Donald asked, Bree shrugged, not looking up at the inventor. Donald looked at the bionic, not understanding what the problem is. "I think she's sick" A voice suggested from behind. Donald turned to see Eddie come together on a near by screen. "Sick?" Donald repeated. Eddie then showed footage of yesterday. Bree had spent all day in a small fort made of pillows, all the way at the back of the lab. "She was moaning constantly" Eddie added, when Donald was done watching. Donald then turned to Bree, and put a had on her forehead. "You're a little warm" Donald mumbled.

"What's wrong?" A curious Chase asked, coming up to the inventor. "Your sister might have a cold" Donald informed, and Bree let out a small sneeze. "Oh great" Donald mumbled. He then turned to the clock and found it to be lunchtime. "Okay, let's eat and then Bree I'll take care of you today" Donald said. Bree smiled slightly, knowing that the inventor was going to take care of her. After the three had been put into their capsules, Donald pressed the green button and the three began to eat.

-Time Skip-

It had been a few hours and Donald took care of Bree. Adam and Chase were considerate enough not to bother him, knowing that their sister was sick. So as Donald took care of Bree, Adam and Chase were up and about, roaming everywhere and staying out of Donald's way. "It's Five o'clock" Eddie said, as he came onto the screen. "So?" Donald asked, continuing to watch the bionic girl sleep soundly in her capsule. "You have a date at six" Eddie reminded. Donald turned around, very confused, "A date?" Donald asked to no one in particular. "With that person on the internet" Eddie said slowly. Donald's confused expression, then turned to realization. "I have a date with Tasha today at six" Donald blurted out. "Yup, that's in an hour" Eddie said, as Donald raced out of the lab.

Outside it had begun to drizzle, and Tasha sat near by a window in a cafe. She had just arrived. Tasha then turned to look at her watch, 6:01 it read. She was afraid of sitting alone, being stood up. Tasha sighed hoping that he would come. At that moment, her phone vibrated softly in her hand and she read the caller ID. "Hey, Tasha I'm at the cafe. I just came in" the voice from the other side said, Tasha turned at the sound of the soft bell on the door. "Where are you" Donald asked. Tasha stared at the man talking on his cellphone near the doorway. Could that really be him? "Hello?" Tasha's train of thought was interrupted by the call from the phone, "Donald I'm sitting by the window" She told him. She watched the man look around and finally lock eyes with her.

Bree opened her eyes and let out a soft yawn. She opened her capsule and stepped out. She looked around the empty lab. "Hello?" She called. Eddie then quickly came onto the screen, "I'm here" Eddie said dully. "Where's Mr. Davenport?" Bree asked. "He's not here" Eddie told her. "Where is he?" Bree asked, "He's not here" Eddie said. "But he said he would take care of me today" Bree said softly, her eyes beginning to fill with tears.

The two sat by the window as the rain continued to drizzle. Each holding a cup of brewing coffee in hand and laughing. Anyone could easily tell that they were lovebirds. Tasha laughed, and covered her mouth after the inventor had said something. "So I'm really funny huh?" Donald asked, looking at her. She smiled and nodded, "You kind of remind me of my son. He is really like you" Tasha said. The two then fell into a comfortable silence, each staring outside as the rain continued to fall. "You have a son?" Donald asked curiously. "Yeah, I'm looking for a good father figure for him" Tasha said softly and sipped her cup of coffee. Donald continued to look at her. "What?" Tasha asked noticing how her date was looking at her. "You're really pretty" Donald blurted out. Tasha's cheeks now held a light blush.

The short date turned into a long dinner date, involving more laughing and blushing. The two started off the relationship well, and they loved being in the company of each other. So this caused Donald to come home later then he had thought. "See you next week?" Donald asked, drawing the date to an end. Tasha stood up, "Yeah, next week" Tasha breathed. "I'll pick you up" Donald said with a smile. They exchanged short goodbyes and stood near the doorway awkwardly, not knowing what to do next. Then the two headed off into different directions.

Donald had just stepped through the front door, "Hey Donnie how was the date?" before the inventor could respond Eddie continued, "Was is good? Well I really don't care cause you need to come down to the lab NOW and quiet this girl down" Eddie complained and shut off the screen. Donald then quickly raced down to the lab.

As he stepped through the elevator doors, he saw the two brothers trying desperately to comfort their crying sister. "What's wrong" Donald asked and rushed over to the trio's side. Adam and Chase stepped back giving their sister some space. Donald brought Bree into a hug, but she quickly wiggled out. "Bree, what's wrong?" Donald asked, confused by her sudden actions. "You said you would take care of me" Bree stuttered, and ribbed her eyes, red from crying. "I-"Why did you go without telling me? You said you would take care of me all day." Bree repeated, looking at the inventor with sad eyes. Donald felt a sudden rush of guilt as he stared at the small child. He brought her into a hug, "I'm sorry" Donald apologized quietly. When he let her go, he stared at her, while she sniffled and ribbed her eyes. "it's okay" Bree said softly. He continued to look at her, and Bree then showed a small smile.

I think that this chapter was really hard to write, but worth the effort. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. And I would like to inform everyone that new chapters will be posted on Fridays or Saturdays and holidays. I'll try my best to update as often as I can, but for now I'm kind of pushed to Fridays and Saturdays. See you all in the next chapter, PBL.
