Fight for Love

25th Fight: Seduction Plan

"Misaki's registration has been approved! So, that means she is allowed to represent Special Club and our school!" Yuri exclaimed loudly during our Special Club meeting.

On the other side of the table, Nobara giggled as she covered her mouth and said meekly, "That's great, Misaki-chan. We will root for you!"

"Leave everything to me, girls! I will bring back a medal," Misaki proclaimed with a smirk. "Well, if only our spy is doing her job well."

I pouted. "I am, Misaki-senpai."

"Say, were you the one who tried to pick a fight with Matsudaira-san the other day?" Yuri asked curiously.

"Yes, I did..."

"You did? I thought the rumours were fake!" Misaki shouted as she stood up from the chair and hit her palms against the table.

Shizune who had been silent ever since the meeting had started spoke in a calm voice, "Apparently, no one questions where she had learnt the techniques. So, she's safe."

"Except for Hotaru and Yoichi-kun..." I laughed sheepishly.

When I had returned to class after speaking to Narumi, Hotaru was asking me how I did the break fall and some defense moves. I had told her that I did it out of instinct but it seemed that she didn't buy my answer. Instead of pestering me again, she had decided to let the matter go. On the other hand, Yoichi was extremely worried about me getting into a fight again. He didn't really question my ability, instead he reprimanded me for being rash and nearly getting myself into trouble. He did ask me where I had learnt to be slightly more reflexive. The obvious answer was Special Club, but I didn't say anything besides chuckling.

Clapping her hands to distract us from our little conversion, Shizune spoke in her usual stern manner, "Let's get back to the main topic, girls. I need Mikan's report now."

I nodded and stood up, holding up a piece of foolscap paper with scribbles all over the surface. Upon receiving everyone's eyes on me, I started to present my findings.

"I went to Seika Academy, one of the renowned boys' school in Japan, last week. Yuu Tobita is the chairperson of the Taekwondo Club in that high school and according to some members, he had won against Tsubasa Andou-senpai."

"He must be the guy whom we're looking for," Yuri stated softly as she rubbed her chin in deep thought.

No matter how interested Shizune looked, the chairperson urged me to carry on.

"I have found something more interesting and which we should pay more attention to," I continued.

Misaki frowned in obvious displeasure. "What is it? There's someone else better than that champion?"

"No, about that... I'm not very sure. I didn't have the chance to observe every move Tobita-san and the other students made that day."

"Why not?"

"I was interrupted," I answered in a calm voice. "By Tsubasa-senpai and the two other Taekwondo members from South Summer High School."

"Eh? Why were they there?" Nobara asked in surprise.

"Apparently, they wanted to set up a plan in order to fight against one another in the semi-finals," I said. "This is the point I want to highlight to all of you."

"That's cheating, isn't it?" Nobara asked again but this time, she looked nervous.

I wouldn't be surprised if she looked like this. If Tsubasa really planned to cheat, Shizune, Yuri and Misaki would never let him go unscathed. I meant, probably. Yes, probably. Because they couldn't let anyone know that Special Club was a Taekwondo Club in disguise, it was also quite unlikely that they would suddenly confront him about his scheme unless they didn't care anyway since Special Club would be busted on the day of the tournament.

Shizune ignored Nobara's question and prompted me instead, "What is their plan?"

"They left before they came out with the plan. They just declared about collaborating together but didn't say anything else so I don't know what exactly they are planning," I replied honestly and upon seeing Shizune nod her head, I sat down.

There was a brief silence in our training room as everyone was in deep thought while my eyes roamed around the room and scanned the serious faces of my seniors in the hope to guess what they were thinking. Nobara was fidgeting with her fingers, looking lost and worried. On the other hand, Yuri was resting her forehead on her palm and occasionally let out soft sighs. Shizune's face was unreadable. She was staring emotionlessly at her own reflection on the mirror at the opposite side of the room. Misaki, however, was clearly showing her frustration at the moment. She was biting her fingernails and kept grunting softly.

It was my turn to sigh. Could someone tell me why we were concerning ourselves with this? It wasn't our business and we could easily report their scheme to anyone organising the tournament. Weren't we also cheating in some ways as well? Sending me as a spy to other Taekwondo Clubs was just as good as coming up with a cheating scheme.

"I have an idea. For the sake of Special Club, we have to do this," Shizune's voice broke the stressful silence.

"Do what?" Misaki and Yuri asked together while Nobara and I stared questionably at our chairperson.

"Okay, here's my plan." Shizune stood up and walked straight towards the flip-chart placed on a canvas which was right in front of us. "This time, we can't rely too much on our spy."

My eyes widened. Was she trying to say that I was useless? But it was true anyway so I wasn't planning to retort.

She grabbed a marker and began drawing two rows of five stick men. On the first row, she labelled each stick man with each of our names and she paired each named stick man to each no-named stick man by connecting them with a drawn line.

"It was unfortunate that our Mikan Yukihira is lesbian in the eyes of the students of East Autumn High School. So, she will be ineffective," Shizune continued.

My shoulder dropped after feeling very insulted by her words. "What do you mean?"

Nobara covered her mouth and gasped loudly. "Shizune-chan, don't tell me..."

"You're planning to use the worst plan ever, aren't you?" Misaki's voice turned cold as she narrowed her eyes at Shizune.

"Yes," Shizune replied.

"That's absurd. As if the boys will fall for those techniques!"

"Misaki-senpai, what do you mean?" I queried anxiously.

"It's..."

"Seduction," Shizune finished Misaki's sentence. "Have you heard of seduction mission?"

I shook my head. I knew the term 'seduction' but I never really knew what kind of mission that was. Was it something like seducing people? Did that really count as a mission? That was weird.

"That means you've to seduce your target and retrieve information from him or her," Yuri answered my doubt. "It's a risky mission because you're either busted and you'll be done for, or... well, if you do your job well, you're safe throughout the mission."

I gaped and raised my voice in bewilderment, "So, each of us will be seducing a guy and obtain information about the cheating scheme?"

Shizune flashed me a small smile and commented, "I'm glad you're getting clever day by day, our cute little amateur spy."

My face fell but I immediately straightened myself up with a smile too and joked, "No biggie. I'm actually very clever... everyday."

Nobara giggled while the rest gave me a deadpanned look on their faces. Shizune cleared her throat, bringing our attention back to the main topic again. She wrote the Tsubasa's name underneath one of the stick man which was paired up with Misaki. Shrieking, Misaki stood up from her seat and demanded Shizune to replace his name with another person's name. Shizune just smirked at her and shrugged her words off.

"I don't want to seduce that guy! He's so old! And I've never talked to him before! Maybe I did but we're not even close at all!" Misaki shouted angrily but her blushing face were already starting to give her inner emotions away.

Nobara and I looked at each other and beamed. Misaki was always so obvious...

"Mikan, you seduce Andou-senpai then!" Misaki suddenly ordered me.

I sat there with a horrified look and began stammering, "I... I... don't kn... know how to... to... sed... seduce..."

"Just learn and take my place!" Misaki snapped.

Shizune raised her hand in the air to silent the fuming brunette and spoke, "Shall we talk about this later? As for Nobara, you will seduce one of the boys from South Summer High School."

I turned to Nobara and suggested, "Koko-chan or Kitsuneme-san, choose one."

"Are... are they nice?" Nobara asked shyly.

I nodded in assurance. Nobara's face turned red as she began mumbling something under her breath, which I couldn't hear properly though. After almost half a minute had passed, her face suddenly lit up and she scratched her cheek in an unsure manner.

"The second guy?" she said softly.

I smiled. "Good choice. Kitsuneme-san is a good..."

"It's settled then," Shizune interrupted me. "Then, I will leave the girly sounding name of the other boy to Mikan."

I nodded and hit my chest with my fist. "Alright! Leave Koko-chan to me... huh?"

Hold on, Mikan. What did I just hear?

I had to seduce Koko?!

"I will take Yuu Tobita-san then," Yuri offered and Shizune immediately agreed.

Wait, ladies. Why did I have to seduce Koko?

"That Koko-chan must be some sort of a girly boy, right? If someone from our school sees you, at least they won't get suspicious because you're homosexual."

"I'm not homosexual!"

"That is, in the eyes of our schoolmates."

Gee, thanks.

I leaned back, crossed my arms and scowled. Koko was, by no means, girly. Just because I called him 'Koko-chan', that didn't mean that he was feminine or a pretty boy! Yuu should take the name of a pretty boy instead.

"While I..." Shizune paused and thought hard. "Who else left? I guess I'm free then."

"For the sake of Misaki," Misaki bellowed at Shizune. "You shall take my place."

The chairperson smirked in amusement and asked, "Ah... may I ask why? You sure are reluctant to face him."

"That because... Argh! I'm the one participating in this tournament! What if I'm busted before the tournament starts?" Misaki said in exasperation.

Everyone in the room remained silent. Inwardly, I thought that Shizune wouldn't buy her answer since it sounded more like an excuse to get away from the seduction plan. However, Shizune's response startled me. Well, she always surprised me anyway.

"Fine then, my dear friend." Shizune stood next to Misaki and put her arm around her shoulders. "For the sake of our champion, I shall take your place."

"Shizune-chan!" Misaki cried out her name in happiness as her eyes were starting to glisten with tears. "I know you're very understanding!"

"Don't worry, my dear friend." Shizune's smile widened which looked very creepy to me, probably only to me. "I won't do anything stupid and unnecessary to him."

Misaki's face turned a darker shade of red and her lips formed a thin line in response. She sat back down and kept quiet. Her eyes loomed around the room, each time stopping to take a look at our amused faces.

"Stop looking at me like that and start thinking about how to seduce your men!" Misaki scolded and then turned her head away from us with a loud snort.

Shizune moved away from Misaki and started writing the boy's names underneath the stick men. Without saying anymore, she dismissed all of us and told us to spent the next few days thinking about seduction techniques. Honestly, I had no idea how to seduce a guy. I had seen some movies in which the females would touch the males' thighs, say something which sounded breathy and seductive, and then proceed to kiss them. In reality, I guessed this method wouldn't work because...

How could a male be seduced with just like that? He definitely had better sense than being jelly and submissive with just three actions!

Or... was there actually more to those actions?

I rubbed my chin. Did I miss out another things within the three actions?

But they were just movies, right? I shouldn't take those silly people and unrealistic plot seriously. I nodded in agreement to myself. That had to be it!

When everyone, except Misaki, left the mansion, we parted ways but I walked home with Nobara since we happened to walk in the same direction as well. Along the way, we talked about the seduction plan. No, it was more like a consultation.

"Mikan-chan, can you tell me more about Kitsuneme-san?" Nobara asked.

"Hmm... he can look intimidating at first glance but he is actually very amiable. Koko-chan said that he is a very humble person who doesn't like people praising him too much," I replied.

Nobara bit her lower lip and tried to smile. "He sounds like a good person."

"He is! Once you get to know him, you will realise that his personality is so much better than most people in the Taekwondo Club in our school."

This time, Nobara smiled without restraint. "What about Koko-chan? Will he be good to you?"

I laughed. Of course, Koko would be good to me... if only I didn't tick him off. I guessed we were somewhat friends. Not close friends, but at least better than acquaintances.

"Okay, firstly, Koko-chan is not girly. Secondly, he is kind unlike a certain Hyuuga. Thirdly, both of us like to irritate each other by calling each other 'Koko-chan' and 'Mi-chan'. Lastly, well, we kind of get along with each other without any problem."

"Koko-chan and you are friends?" Nobara looked mildly surprised by what I had said and when I nodded, she heaved a sigh of relief. "That's great. Like this, you won't have any problem seducing him to get information out of him."

My mouth twitched and I instantly tried to correct her, "No, you're wrong. It's not that easy to seduce him..."

"But why?" Nobara interrupted me with a puzzled look. "Unless you're friendzoned."

"Ah... it's not like that. It's just that..." I paused and laughed sheepishly. "Koko-chan is a fighting maniac. He has no interest in love... probably."

"Probably."

"Yes, probably."

Nobara stopped walking and turned to look at me. I stopped walking too and stared back at her quizzically.

"Then, that means you still have the chance to make him fall for you! Do your best in seducing him, Mikan-chan!" Nobara clenched her fists and puffed up her cheeks adorably. "Fighting!"

That was how I had to fight for love. A fake love, in this case.

And I had no idea how to obtain Kokoro Yome's heart.

Gosh... I felt like a cheater. If Koko really fell for me, I would feel bad. Really, really bad. I really hoped Natsume wouldn't know about this seduction plan. Please not him...

Argh! What was I thinking?! I meant Ruka. Yes, I hoped that Ruka wouldn't know that I was going to seduce his opponent, thinking that I had betrayed him...

Again, what did I just say?! He and I were never a pair, so why was this even considered as a betrayal?

No good. My mind was so messed up!

After much advice from Nobara, I had decided to stop by a bookstore which was located near my residence and buy a recommended book. It was titled 'How to Seduce a Man for Dummies'.

Everything would have gone fine if only I wasn't caught by him before I could even purchase the guide book on seduction.

26th Fight: Books on Seduction

"Yes, who's the person?" he said as his eyes narrowed at me.

"He is... why do you want to know?" I spoke softly as well, hoping that Natsume wouldn't hear a thing we were talking about.

Tightening his grip on my shoulder, Yoichi frowned and raised his voice a little, "That's because...!"

I knitted my eyebrows together and prompted him to carry on, "Because?"

"Because!"

"Huh?"

"That's because I..."

"If the two of you want to flirt with each other, do it outside," Natsume's dull voice cut into our conversation. "Out of my sight."

Please don't forget to review this chapter and tell me how it is! Thanks! :D
