# AH! A Goddess Is The Last To Know!

Sousuke sat quietly at a beautiful and ornate kitchen table. The house was silent and he propped his chin up with his fist as his elbow rested on the table cloth beneath. He allowed his fingers to run up and down the handle of his coffee mug in a lazy motion while he waited. He couldn't sleep. Skuld had not returned from her mission yet and his eyes wouldn't stay closed, so he sat and waited.

He heard movement in the foyer, stood, and made his way towards the noise until he was standing in the entrance between the two rooms. He frowned as he quietly watched Skuld and Shinji whispering conspiratorially between each other. The pair had entered the home hand in hand with Skuld dragging Shinji behind her. Her eyes moved quickly to lock with Sousuke's.

"All right?" Sousuke asked softly.

"Never better," Skuld whispered back. Her cheeks were tinged pink and her lips were pulled back in an excited grin. She wore a cheap tiara made of soft metal with the word 'Bride' in her hair. She winced sheepishly as she watched Sousuke inspect the accessory from the door way.

"Hey Sousuke!" Shinji spoke a little louder than intended as he slipped his hand from Skuld's grasp and shimmied toward him with his hands out. He smelled strongly of alcohol and Sousuke recoiled lightly as he approached.

"Are both of you drunk?" Sousuke questioned as he regained his demeanor and approached Shinji with his hand out. He grimaced as Shinji pulled him into a hug and squeezed him tightly.

"We need to tell you something," Shinji spoke into his ear as the pair embraced. His breath was acidic. Sousuke turned his head lightly in an attempt to escape the burning sensation corroding his eyes.

"We have to tell a lot of people," Skuld chuckled nervously as she wrung her hands, paused, then rubbed them together quickly before flashing her left hand outwards towards Sousuke. "We got married after the mission!" she gushed nervously.

Sousuke eyed a gold band on her finger, released Shinji, pressed him away, and took several steps towards Skuld before pulling her hand towards himself to peer at the offending object around her finger. "I see," he whispered softly before looking up to meet the nervous gaze of the little Goddess.

"Well?" Skuld asked slowly.

"Congratulations are in order. Right. Right?" Sousuke asked quickly before shooting a quick glance over his shoulder. "No one else knows?" he inquired softly.

"Husna knows," Skuld replied quickly.

"Did she encourage your choice?" Sousuke asked evenly. He paused as the words escaped his lips, was thoughtful for a moment, and then tried to flash her a grimacing smile that peeled his lips back demonically. He was equal parts flabbergasted and numb to this turn of events.

Skuld frowned with a look of hurt on her features. She began to answer but fell silent as the communication device she had built for Sousuke began to ring. She watched as he fumbled with his pocket, withdrew the radio, and answered.

"Sagara," he spoke quickly. He side stepped once, leaned against the wall, and placed the device firmly against his ear.

"I knew you would still be awake," the voice of the Major pressed outwards from the speaker.

"I am," Sousuke confirmed.

"I just got done with my debrief of Husna and I wanted to see if you have a second to talk," the reply was gruff but tinged with a niggling hint of excitement.

"Shall I bring Skuld?" Sousuke inquired.

"Oh hell, I was hoping I had beat her home," the Major exclaimed. "She right there?" he inquired.

"She is," Sousuke confirmed. His eyes darted to hold hers and he tried his hand at a comforting smile. He wanted to sigh as he watched her shrink under his gaze.

"We got a little problem," the Major spoke quickly.

"You don't say," Sousuke replied gruffly. He darted his eyes to land on the tiara once more, thought differently, and turned his head to gaze at a particularly interesting piece of decoration on the wall.

"The media heard about the little midnight raid that Skuld and Husna went on and they want an explanation of why there was a Goddess beheaded in the streets on Earth," the Major chuckled as the words dripped from his lips. He sounded giddy as his breath quivered with excitement.

Sousuke blinked, turned his attention on Skuld, and spoke. "Did you behead a woman in public?" Sousuke asked.

"Me? No. Hell no! I mean, I was there, but she was asking for it, and Husna did it, and she only did it because she had to do it," Skuld gushed nervously as the words poured from her lips in an ever increasing tempo. She gesticulated her hands wildly before pivoting at the waist and reaching out to grab Shinji. "She tried to kill Shinji!" she finalized with a panicked huff.

"Hah!" the sound of the Major guffawing into the communication device startled Sousuke and he flinched as the boisterous noise made him lightly withdraw the device from his ear. He frowned but said nothing.

"What do you need from me and how do we handle this?" Sousuke asked.

"You make sure that Skuld has her class A uniform starched and pressed, that the Shinji boy has a suit and tie, and that she gets at least a few minutes of rest tonight. She has to explain what happened in an interview tomorrow evening," the Major replied. "We want her available for the press conference by noon," he finalized.

"Affirmative," Sousuke nodded as he spoke. He glanced towards the pair and felt his stomach drop at the look of terror they shared.

"Sousuke," the Major spoke.

"Yes," he replied.

"Tell her I said congratulations," the Major finished before disconnecting the link between himself and the device.

Skuld and Shinji gravitated closer to each other as they stared quietly at Sousuke. Neither took their eyes off of him as they watched him return the device to his pocket, cross his arms, and stare back at them.

"Every thing all right?" Shinji questioned as he broke the silence. He reached out with his left arm, cradled Skuld, and pulled her in closer. "I'm ready to do what ever it takes to fix this for her," he spoke forcefully. "Do I need to fight again?" he asked.

Sousuke couldn't help himself as he chuckled. "No, this is not a live fire exercise. It's much worse," he spoke as he approached the pair. "Congratulations on your choice," he offered lamely as he extended his hand and shook each of their hands in turn. He felt awkward and unfamiliar with how he should behave in such a situation. "Uniform?" Sousuke inquired.

"I will be ready by tomorrow. Shinji will be too," Skuld confirmed with a nod. She pensively withheld her question for as long as she could before gushing nervously. "Sousuke, are you mad at me?" she exhaled deeply as her eyes filled with fear.

"Not at all. I am thankful you are safe and if this makes you happy, I support you," he left no room for interpretation with his answer.

"Thanks," Skuld breathed before pointing towards the hall way. "My room is this way," she offered the words to Shinji as she tugged him in that direction.

"Thanks Sousuke," Shinji spoke quickly as the pair disappeared towards the little Goddesses chambers.

Sousuke waited till he felt they were sufficiently far from him before releasing the sigh he had been holding. He placed his hands over his eyes, rubbed furiously, and then exhaled hard a second time. He followed in the pairs steps before continuing past their room and on wards to the one he shared with Urd. He contemplated how he should inform her of the situation.

Sousuke approached the entrance, opened the door, and passed the precipice with cat like grace. He allowed his eyes to scan the room, dimly lit by the glow of their egg floating with a gentle bob near their futon.

"Is she alive?" the sound of Urd's voice in the darkness was quiet and even.

"She is home safe," Sousuke replied softly.

"What is wrong? I can hear your heart beating like you just ran a marathon," she continued to speak without moving from where she lay wrapped in blankets.

"Skuld accomplished her mission and took it upon herself to marry Shinji," he replied as he removed his shirt and pants in preparation for bed.

"Belldandy and Skuld are both married and I am sitting here unwed with a baby on the way," Urd growled as she rolled over to scowl at Sousuke.

"You aren't upset with her?" Sousuke ignored her comment as he felt relief that her annoyance was directed at him and not at her.

"I don't know if she is making a mistake or not, but it's her life," Urd replied. "She is trying to be respectable," she continued.

"We should get married," Sousuke nodded as he knelt, peeled back the blankets from the futon, and slid between the sheets to face Urd. He tried his hand at smiling at her as they lay facing each other.

"Don't try to be cute," Urd growled as she scowled at him. "You let all of my sisters get married before me," she huffed.

"I saved the best for last," Sousuke replied as he snaked his arm towards Urd, draped it over her shoulder, and cupped her upper back before pulling her towards him.

"I'm going to bite you," Urd threatened as she wrinkled her nose and stared at him with a sharp glare.

"You do that," Sousuke replied as he mocked her with a dangerous scowl and a sharp smirk.

Sousuke woke to the sound of raised voices and a crash. He leaped to his feet from the futon furiously as his hand slipped beneath the mattress in a single deft motion to withdraw a short barrel pump action shotgun. The cool morning air bit at his nude form as he rushed towards the door, slammed it open with his shoulder, and racked the grip in a swift and teeth chattering motion. The click clack of the weapon echoed down the hallway as he kept the weapon at low ready.

"You woke Sousuke," the sound of Urd's voice chastising someone echoed down the hall towards him.

"Are you safe?" Sousuke inquired as he stepped around the corner to face the kitchen. He felt every muscle in his body straining tightly as he held the weapon close to his chest and allowed his eyes to scan the room quickly.

"Just fine love," Urd assured him as she turned towards him, frowned, and snapped her fingers. She summoned a wash of energy that covered his nude lower half and faded away to leave him clothed in loose fitting shorts. "Pants Sousuke. Can we not be complete heathens? Please?" Urd asked him with a look of disproving exasperation.

"I was concerned for your safety," Sousuke replied calmly as he engaged the safety on the shotgun, turned his gaze on their visitors, and contorted his lips into his version of an inviting smile. "Good morning," he spoke before tensing in a failed bid to halt his yawn.

"Good morning son," Major Cummins chuckled as he waved from his seat at the table. "Doing all right?" he inquired.

"Well enough. Yourself?" Sousuke inquired as he moved towards a cabinet, accessed the contents, and withdrew a glass with a clank. He placed the shotgun on the counter and pushed it back until it rested against the wall.

"Good morning Sousuke. I saw the ding dong," Husna spoke calmly as she too gestured towards him with a wave.

"God damn it Husna," Major Cummins sighed as he involuntarily cast his eyes on a scowling Urd.

Sousuke ignored her before inquiring. "What was that crash?"

"Skuld," Urd replied flippantly before wiggling a single finger. Implying her cleanup technique. "She felt compelled to test how far a glass of juice could fly."

"Any reason why?" Sousuke inquired.

Urd frowned before looking towards the Major. "The Major here has some interesting news," she finished before gesturing towards the man.

Sousuke felt the strange vibe in the air between the three. He scratched his cheek, moved to the fridge, and withdrew a bottle of juice. He poured his glass slowly as he contemplated whether or not he was interested in finding out the Major's news so early in the morning. "Bad?" Sousuke inquired softly.

"Like gettin' pissed on and being told it's rain," the Major replied with a somber tone.

Husna snorted, frowned, and cast her gaze upon the Major as her brow creased. "Who would piss upon you and then claim it is rain? How is this possible?" She asked him as she shook her head in the negative.

"It's a figure of speech," the Major replied as he glanced sideways at her.

"No one will piss on Husna and call it rain," Husna replied with finality as she crossed her arms and tilted her head with a look that begged for challenge.

"I swear," the Major huffed before turning his attention back on Sousuke. The Major held eye contact with him as Sousuke drank deeply from his juice. "It's about your ex," he continued.

Sousuke scowled as his eyes peeked out from around the glass. He lowered the glass, wiped his upper lip with the back of his arm, and then questioned him softly. "What about her?"

"Rumor around the flag pole is that she is alive and kicking," the Major sighed. "Reliable rumor. Intelligence fueled," the Major continued.

"Can we make her the opposite of that?" Urd asked softly.

Major Cummins smiled wide as he snapped to attention at Urd's word. "Princess, I would love to do nothing more than make you happy. If we need to reverse her current state of affairs, we would be the first to do it for you," he smiled wide and spoke with a soft tenor to her. He appeared grandfatherly and doting.

"I will do this thing for you without hesitation," Husna nodded.

"What does this have to do with Skuld?" Sousuke prodded the conversation forward. He reached up to rub the underside of his eye where the muscle was gripped in an involuntary spasm.

"We think that our friends up above are going to bring out some big guns, your ex included, to testify against Skuld and Husna tonight. Character witness perhaps? She might even try to goad Skuld into some kind of honorable combat bull shit and we ain't gonna stand for that," the Major explained quickly.

"A duel?" Sousuke inquired.

"Duels are for idiots," the shrill voice of Chibi-Hild ripped through the room as her diminutive form marched past the precipice. "Am I late?" she inquired.

"Not at all," Major Cummins spoke quickly as he moved to stand.

"Stay seated," Chibi-Hild waved him off flippantly before approaching the fridge, reaching directly into and through the door, and withdrawing a bottle of milk that she downed in several long gulps. She belched and tossed the bottle into the garbage with a clattering thud before facing Sousuke. "Where is Skuld?" she inquired.

"She left in a huff," Urd interjected as she gestured with both hands in an imitation of an explosion.

"Children," Chibi-Hild spat with unmasked frustration. "Husna, go and get her and the husband dressed and prepared for their meeting please. Get her to the public information office in one piece and don't you let her or the boy get assassinated before this thing happens," she barked.

"Ma'am," Husna stood, nodded once firmly, and then vanished with a crack like a whip.

"Problems?" Major Cummins inquired.

"Always," Chibi-Hild confirmed as she turned on Sousuke and pointed towards Urd. "When?" she asked.

Sousuke held eye contact with the diminutive demon queen, thought for several seconds, and then spoke. "As soon as possible," he breathed before adding one more caveat. "As long as Urd agrees," he finalized.

"When?" Chibi-Hild asked again. She turned her attention on Urd as the words escaped her lips.

"The sooner the better," Urd smirked as she cast a playful scowl on an unrepentant Sousuke.

"Good. We are announcing the wedding tonight after the round table," she finalized before vanishing silently.

Sousuke and Urd exchanged glances. Sousuke winked and Urd scowled before turning her head to hide the smile she was fighting to conceal.

"I am going to go get my monkey suit on," The Major spoke as he stood. "Thank you for breakfast Princess. It was a pleasure and a treat to see you," he spoke to Urd before turning his attention on Sousuke. "Ask your Princess to help you dress. You are authorized to wear the sash," he spoke before vanishing with a grimace. His distaste for magical transportation was plain on his face.

"Sash?" Sousuke asked aloud.

"The accessory for a member of the royal family who also serves in the military. If we are engaged, you are allowed to wear a sash over your uniform to denote your special position," Urd explained.

Sousuke was thoughtful as he considered her words.

"Nervous?" Urd asked aloud as she reached up to adjust her hair. She patted the long braided locks, gave them a gentle push upwards, and then turned her attention to fuss with Sousuke and his sash. "This looks good on you."

"Thank you." Sousuke replied. He cast a hard gaze at some of the demons providing security, monitored their actions for a bit, and then turned his attention fully on Urd. "I feel that this isn't very safe."

"It's a little out of the ordinary, but I am sure it is safe." Urd reassured him as she tugged at and readjusted one of the clasps holding a wide sash across his shoulder. "No one is going to do anything." she continued.

"Your mother, you, Skuld, and I are all going to be in a tiny room with some of the most dangerous members of heaven, and no one is going to do anything?" Sousuke breathed as he rubbed at his temples with both hands. He was anxious.

"Correct." Urd confirmed with a curt nod. She stepped back, admired her work, and smiled. "Sexy." she stated firmly as she eyed his uniform.

Sousuke turned and peered at a mirror that was available in the small dressing room they shared. He liked the white uniform he normally wore and found the purple sash to be an acceptable compliment. He wore a handful of dress medals and a single badge that denoted him a veteran of both temporal as well as spiritual warfare. The badge was simple, a sword with a tiny E device over the middle of the blade. The E stood for Earth.

"Don't worry so much." Urd commanded as she turned to the door, approached it, and placed her hand on the handle. She turned it forcefully and wrested the door open to reveal a hallway filled with demons and angels standing in pairs. The guards for the evening.

Sousuke frowned, moved to stand beside Urd, and offered her his arm. "Stay close to me."

Urd grinned. "You do the same to me." She demanded.

They walked briskly under the gaze of the watchers towards a small crowd at the end of the hallway. Sousuke could feel cold sweat rolling down his back as his eyes darted from guard to guard. He could see the Major, Husna, and Chibi Hild mulling about near the door. Chibi Hild was laughing raucously as the Major grinned wildly. Husna appeared nonplussed.

"Lord have mercy son, you hot?" The Major asked as soon as Sousuke neared. He gestured at Sousuke with one hand as his grin turned into a look of incredulous surprise.

Sousuke ignored him. An unwise decision.

"You look hot like two squirrels fucking in a wool sock, boy." The Major pressed.

Husna exploded into laughter before turning to Sousuke. "They are hot because of the intercourse, but they are also hot because they are perhaps sweating inside the woolen sock!" she explained through fits of shaking laughter.

"Thank you Husna." Sousuke scowled as he noticed Urd turn her head away from him with a grin. "Where is Skuld?" he attempted to change the subject.

"Perhaps in a wool sock with Shinji?" Husna asked in return.

"She is on the way." The Major interrupted before pointing to Chibi-Hild. "Seems we may not be graced with the presence of the big boss."

"Why isn't my mother fully here?" Urd asked as she wheeled on Chibi-Hild. Any signs of previous mirth evaporated in a hurry as she stomped towards the tiny demon queen.

"She has something to do." Chibi-Hild replied matter of factually.

"More important than this?" Urd growled dangerously.

Chibi-Hild stood on her tip toes, leaned forward, and spoke with a clear and dangerous edge to her voice. "Yes." She dropped back down to her heels and grinned.

Urd huffed but didn't push the issue.

"I'm here." Skulds soft voice caught their attention and the group turned to watch as she approached. "Sorry we are late." she continued. She gripped Shinji by the hand and he walked nervously beside her as he waved.

The Major and Sousuke both surged towards her to inspect her uniform, hair, and to verify that she had all of her medals and ribbons.

"I think I did it right." Skuld spoke as she held her arms up and out. She turned from side to side slowly in order to demonstrate all of her work.

"Looks good." Sousuke confirmed with a nod.

"Yup." The Major confirmed as he adjusted her collar and then patted her on the shoulder. "Real pretty." he winked as he doted on her with father like care.

Skuld grinned and then waved her hand at Shinji. "I made him wear a suit." She stated as she pointed at his neck. "Is that tie fine?" she asked.

Sousuke inspected the green bow tie and gave what he hoped was an encouraging smile towards Shinji. "Looking great." Sousuke spoke. "Do you know what to say?"

Shinji became wide eyed as he looked between Skuld and Sousuke. "Skuld said I shouldn't say anything and..." his voice shook and he waved his hands about as he stuttered and choked on his words..

"Correct." Sousuke nodded. "Direct any questions back to Skuld or just let her talk."

Shinji nodded firmly.

"Let's go kids." Chibi-Hild spoke up as she approached the door, waved her hand, and revealed a white walled room filled with reporters of every kind.

Sousuke spotted Marller standing on a raised platform answering questions and looking haggard with a forced smile up turned on her lips. She made eye contact with him, nodded once, and gestured to the long table behind her.

The sounds of shouted questions filled the air as the group trundled past the wall of undulating flesh and flashing cameras.

"Princess Urd! Is it true the next heir will hatch soon?"

"Princess Urd! Is your sister going to be removed from her position in service?"

"Princess Urd! Is this a declaration of war? Have we absolved the agreements?"

Urd remained stoic as she marched by the ones asking questions. She didn't acknowledge them.

Sousuke felt an oppressive presence pressing down on his neck, turned to glance, and noticed that Husna had fallen into line behind him. The group made their way to the table, chose a chair, and stood in wait.

"Sit first." Urd passed the message mentally onto Sousuke with a gentle touch of her index finger.

Sousuke reached forward, grabbed the chair, pulled it from the table, and sat. The moment he pulled himself forward, Urd sat, followed by Husna, Skuld, Shinji, and finally Chibi-Hild. The room fell dead silent.

Sousuke peered past Urd and noticed a handful of chairs that had yet to be filled. He felt his stomach churn as he wondered who would be joining them.

A rumble near one of the far doors spread through the crowd like a tsunami towards the table. Sousuke could see that a door had opened and a small group was rapidly making its way to the front. The delegation from Heaven had arrived.

The lithe and feminine figures snaked their way past the crowd and Sousuke felt his blood run cold as he made eye contact with a scowling Kaname Chidori. Her face was scarred and she was much more muscular, but there hadn't been enough changes to make her unrecognizable. Urd reached beneath the table and squeezed his thigh for a brief moment.

The sound of scraping chairs and shuffling filled the air as the delegation from Heaven moved to their respective positions. Each sat in turn, faces blank, as the room fell silent.

Urd stood in unison with Lind, they both bowed, and then began the introduction process. It was a formality that had been practiced since time immemorial. Each individual stood, bowed, and returned to their seating position as Lind and Urd took turns introducing their entourage. The crowd whispered and gasped when Kaname Chidori stood. Her eyes flashed murderously toward Urd but she refrained from speaking as she returned to her seated position.

"We will now open for questions." Lind and Urd spoke in unison before moving to sit down.

The crowed erupted as hands shot into the air and voices crashed against each other. "Urd! Lind! Murder! Fight! War!" Sousuke could hear bits and pieces of words as he remained stoic in the face of such raucous demands for attention.

Urd turned her head towards Lind, leaned forward slightly, and asked calmly. "Would you like to answer the first question?"

"Please, we would prefer to go second." Lind replied quickly. She flashed a thin lipped smile as gestured to the crowd.

Urd nodded, stood once more, and spoke aloud. "The question was posed, have we absolved our cease fire with heaven." She took a deep breath, stared directly into the crowd, and projected her voice. "As the representative of Hell, I can state with utmost certainty that we have not absolved our cease fire."

The crowd murmured and hands scribbled furiously at pads as the reporters took their notes.

Lind stood. "We are pleased to echo these sentiments. We in Heaven have not absolved our cease fire."

More scribbling.

"This question is for Skuld. Did she kill an Angel during a street fight on Earth?"

Skuld stood up. She looked pale and nervous. Her hands were clinched into sweat drenched balls. "I did not kill an Angel during a street fight on Earth." she spoke with a hurried and high tenor voice before slamming herself back into her chair.

Sousuke grinned inwardly. Word play.

"Is it not true that an Angelic being, a member of an elite battle group, was found beheaded on the Earth?" the same reporter pressed harder from the crowd.

"We do not confirm or deny the fate of any member of our battle groups. No member of Heaven is authorized to operate in a combat capacity on Earth with the current cease fire in operation." Lind replied authoritatively.

Sousuke felt the urge to raise an eye brow. He squashed the desire and remained still.

"Are combat operations on Earth being performed, in disregard to the cease fire, by members of Hell or the Hell military?" another reported shouted.

"Absolutely not. We would not sanction any military actions against our friends in Heaven." Urd spoke curtly.

"Sousuke Sagara! Will you be marrying Urd soon?" someone shouted. Several reporters laughed but a raised hand by Chibi-Hild quieted the crowd.

Sousuke felt his stomach tighten, he stood, looked about for a moment, and then nodded once. "I have proposed to the Princess and we will be married within the month at a time and location of our choosing."

More flash photography, hushed whispers, and rapid writing in the crowd.

Sousuke moved to sit but saw Kaname launch to her feet with a dangerous grin on her face. "False." she spoke the word with a venomous drip. "Urd cannot marry Sousuke."

The crowd erupted. Kaname held herself to her maximum height.

"Please explain!" a reporter yelled over the din. Others joined in with the demand.

"Sousuke Sagara asked me to marry him before my untimely death. I had agreed to the wedding. We are at this time still engaged and I have not officially rebuked his advance. Urd may not marry Sousuke without my blessing and acquiescence. A blessing she will not receive." The room fell silent.

"You left me!" Sousuke fell for the bait. His voice ripped through the room as his face contorted into a visage of rage. He slammed both fists on the table. "Our relationship is over and I will never marry you!"

The room erupted to life again as the shout seemed to kick start the crowd. Questions and cries filled the air.

"Mr. Sagara, when you offered Ms. Chidori your hand in marriage, she did accept. This means that, until she agrees otherwise, you are hers, and you cannot marry the Princess." Lind spoke calmly, her eyes filled with dangerous fire, but her tone twisted in a manner that one would use to explain to a child why they could not play with a hot stove.

Sousuke whirled to gaze upon Urd.

Urd kept her face steady and calm. She did not make eye contact with Sousuke but instead stood and placed her hand on his shoulder as she stared at Kaname. "I will marry Sousuke." her voice was slow, calm, and dangerous.

"Holmgang." Kaname replied with malice.

The room fell dead silent.

Urd did not miss a beat. "As you wish." she nodded.

The room threatened to collapse with the level of screaming and yelling that filled the air. The reporters were going wild and Sousuke had no idea what was happening.

"You have seven days." Kaname spoke. "If I win, I take Sousuke and your egg. If you win, I give up all rights." The delegation from Heaven vanished as soon as she stopped speaking.

"What is a Holmgang?" Sousuke wondered aloud.

"We settle our dispute with a duel. The Holgmgang is a trial by combat." Urd breathed out in reply.

The atmosphere was palpable. An endless number of reporters were squirming, yelling, and questioning.

Sousuke felt shell shocked.

Hild grimaced. She lowered her hands slowly from where she had held them high over head. The bombardment of holy energy had dissipated and she gazed out upon the destruction of her lovers home. They had initiated an attack on the farm she had made Lester as they used the summit as cover.

"Are you alright?" Lester asked softly. He coughed violently.

"I am fine." Hild hushed him as she knelt, cradled his head, and gazed down at him. "Every thing is going to be alright. I promise." she whispered.

Lester stopped coughing, inhaled a few ragged breaths, and then slowly slipped away out of consciousness.

"We will wage war." Hild spoke softly as she waved her hand over his body. He vanished. She then stood, looked upwards, and cried out with all of her might. "YOUR SKIES WILL BURN AND YOUR FLESH WILL CHAR!"

The End
