Unspoken
A/N: Hey guys! This idea has been bouncing around in my head for a while, and I finally wrote it! YAY! Anyway, this is kinda angsty, but not totally. Unless you couldn't tell, its a conversation Zia and Carter had. The italics being their thoughts, the ones they never voiced.

"Hey Zia." Gods, its good to see her again.
"Oh, hello Carter." Its been too long.
"How have you been?" I hope you've been good.
"I've been busy, but good. And you?" And missing you more than I'd like to admit.
"Same. The trainees keep Sadie and I busy, but, its nice, teaching them." Though I haven't been getting much sleep; you've been on my mind.
"I was thinking about coming to the Twenty-First Nome, to help out. Ch—Amos is settling in nicely." I want to see you more often.
"That's good." I'd get to see her more often.
"How have the trainees been?" I bet you've been doing great at teaching them.
"They're all doing really well. I'm still scared about the battle though." I don't want to lose you.
"Aren't we all." I'm scared of you not making it.
"I just can't stand the thought of losing the people I love, or the trainees I've trained." I love you.
"I understand. Its just...the Serpent destroyed my village, and killed my family. I'm scared of facing it again." I'm scared that it will kill you.
"Zia..." Nobody else I want to spend the rest of my life with.
"Carter..." I love you.
"Just...take care of yourself, okay? You're important." You're important to me.
"And you, Carter. We'll need a strong general." I can't stand it when you're hurt, so stay strong.
"Horus coul-" I'll never be as good as the others.
"Carter, just..." Why is he so insecure? He's amazing and smart, and just...Carter.
"Yeah?" All I need is for you to believe in me.
"I-I have to go." I hate leaving you.
"Okay. Bye." Damn goodbyes.
"I hope I get to see you again soon. You're very good at researching things." I need to see you again
"Thanks. So are you. Bye." I love you.
