I've been having a really, really bad day but you guys are the best. I couldn't stop smiling when I read the comments. Thank you guys, you are the best readers ever. Responses will be at the end. Sorry guys, this chapter is going to have a pretty major time jump but it won't effect the story that much.
JACK'S P.O.V
"What the hell!" I opened my dresser draw to find most of mine and Kim's jewelry missing.
"What happened?" Kim asked, running into the room.
"My necklaces were stolen and all of your jewelry is gone." I replied.
"What?" She looked in the drawer for a second before looking at me with anger. "It was your dad!" She yelled.
"How do you know that?" I've been trying to convince myself that he's not a bad guy.
"We went to your graduation today and left him here alone. He's not here anymore." Kim stated.
"I guess your right. Do you want me to file a report?" I asked.
"That's up to you babe. I would never tell you to turn in your father." Kim replied.
"Are you sure. It was mostly your stuff that was taken." I said.
"He's your dad Jack. I'm not gonna say that you shouldn't report him but I'm also not telling you to report him." Kim said.
"If you say so." I shrugged my shoulders and sighed. Kim held out her arms, silently asking for a hug. I pulled her close with a chuckle.
"I'll replace all your stuff." I said. We pulled away from the hug. I walked over to the closet and grabbed a tiny box and a somewhat large box before standing in front of Kim again. "Including your promise ring." I opened the box to reveal the exact same ring I gave her the first time. I then opened the other box with all of her jewelry in it.
"You asshole." She punched my shoulder but took the ring. "How did you get the ring?"
Rudy found it while he was cleaning and gave it to me." I replied.
"Thank you." She said.
"No problem." Kim turned her head, looking out of the room with a smile. I followed her gaze and saw Kyle sitting on the couch in the living room, playing with some of the toys I got him.
"Wait, so your dad didn't take anything?" Kim asked.
"No, but he did disappear again." I replied.
"Do you know how to contact him?" Kim asked. I shook my head.
"He doesn't have a phone, and he won't have a house for awhile and I don't think he wants me to find him. He may have him to jail but he's the same guy he was before he left. He's a Brewer. Assholeness runs in the veins." I said with a smirk.
"You shouldn't be proud of that." Kim stated. "Your not an asshole." She pulled me down until our lips met. It was a short but passionate kiss that I wish lasted longer then it did.
KIM'S P.O.V- Major time skip
Today is my first day back to school. My senior year. I can't believe I'm gonna have to walk the halls of Seaford High without Jack. It's just me and Grace this year since Jerry graduated too. Grace will probably find a guy soon though so then it will be just me.
On the bright side, I turn eighteen tomorrow! I can't wait. Jack and I have been talking about the day I move in for a while now. Kyle absolutely loves his room and I love the apartment all together. Jack has been able to maintain his job at the auto parts store and even got promoted. He now gets to work with spray paint and vehicle repairs which is something he obviously loves. I still work at Phil's and both of our paychecks together make a great amount of money. Jack makes enough to pay the rent and bills and I make enough to buy food. If you couldn't tell we've really been talking about all of this.
"You ready for your first day?" Jack asked as I hopped in the truck after buckling Kyle in.
"I guess. I don't like the fact that I'll be walking around the school by myself." I replied.
"You'll have Grace." Jack tried.
"We all know that Grace is gonna start dating the new guy two days into the year." I said.
"Yeah I guess your right." Jack sighed. "Promise me that your gonna meet new people, maybe join a few teams or clubs." Jack said.
"I promise." I smiled at him.
"Thank you." He had a huge smirk on his face.
"You want me to do cheerleading again don't you?" I asked.
"Why would you think that?" Jack asked.
"I know you Jack and I know what's going on in that guy head of yours. Lucky for you I actually enjoyed cheerleading last year." I stated.
"Whatever, as long as you make more friends and less enemies." Jack pulled into the daycare parking lot and I jumped out and dropped Kyle off. Jack then drove me to school and gave me a kiss goodbye.
"I'll pick you up for karate." Jack said.
"Okay, see you later babe." I gave him one last kiss then hopped out of the truck. I walked to my locker and started to empty my bag.
"Hey, Kim Crawford right?" I turned around to see one of the girls that was on the cheer team last year.
"Umm, yeah, what's up?" I asked.
"You dated Jack Brewer last year right?" She asked. I nodded.
"Yeah, why?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to know how that's goin, you lasted longer than any other girl he's ever dated." She replied.
"Oh, well, we're still together." I replied.
"Wow, impressive." She said. "I'm Donna by the way. I dated Jack when I was a freshman." She held her hand out and I shook it.
"Any your a..." I trailed off, waiting for an answer.
"Senior." She replied. I nodded. "So are you doing cheer again this year?" She asked. I nodded. "Cool, maybe we could hang out some time."
"Sounds good." I finished putting my books away and made my way to my first class. As I walked down the hall way I suddenly remembered where I had seen Donna before. She was the girl I caught, kissing Jack last year. The day went by slow. The fact that I was only able to text Jack was killing me but it finally was the last class. I sat on the end of my chair, waiting less than patiently for the bell to ring. When it did I was the first one out of the room. I darted to my locker and quickly switched out my books. I briskly walked down the hallway in an effort to get the hell out of this place but just like any other desperate moment in my life, my plans were ruined. I had one foot out the door when I was pulled to the side.
"Hey, Kim?" I had never seen this guy before but he apparently knows me.
"What?" I asked.
"You, me, date, tomorrow night, I'll pick you up at eight." He said.
"I have a boyfriend." I tried to walk away but he pulled me back.
"Come on, we all know that you and Jack are gonna be over soon so why not hop on the Grey train while the doors are still open." He said.
"No thanks." I tried to walk away again but he continued to hold onto my arm.
"Don't be a bitch." He said.
"Whatever. I'm leaving." I yanked my arm away and walked to Jack's truck. I found that he wasn't in it so I hopped in and tried calling his phone but he didn't answer. I sat in the truck for a few minutes before I decided to go look for him. I hopped out the truck and slowly walked toward the main entrance of the school. As it came into my sight my pace picked up.
"Jack!" I screamed as I sprinted to the main entrance. "Jack stop!" I yelled. He continued to throw punches at the guy that was harassing me minutes ago. "Jack stop." I tried to pull him off of ''Grey' or whatever his name is but he was relentless. "Jack!" I screamed, pulling him back a bit. I noticed that a few people pulled their phones out and started dialing random numbers, then I heard sirens approaching. I think Jack heard them too because he stopped and looked at me.
"Go, I'll clear things up, meet me at the park in like ten." I said quickly. Jack gave me a quick kiss then ran off. I waited for the police to show up. They started asking people what happened.
"My boyfriend came to pick me up from school and I guess he got into a fight with Grey because Grey was harassing me." I told the officer.
"What exactly did Mr. Hunter do?" He asked.
"I was walking out of the school when he pulled me to the side and asked me out. I told him that I had a boyfriend and tried to leave but he held onto me and wouldn't let me go." I replied. "My boyfriend was just trying to stick up for me."
"Where is your boyfriend at?" He asked.
"I don't know, he left a while ago." I replied.
"Look, I know you know where he is so you can either tell me where he is or I can take you to jail." The officer said.
"Is he looking at any charges?" I asked.
"Mr. Hunter doesn't want to press charges so no but if he has a warrant then he will go to jail." He replied. "Does he have any prior charges or is he on probation?" The officer asked.
"I don't know, he got arrested for possession and was released on parole, I don't know if he's still on parole." I said.
"He should be fine, we just need to check him and make sure he doesn't have any warrants, then you'll be on your way." I sighed and pulled out my phone. I told Jack to come back to the school and he showed up a few minutes later. They checked him and he was clear so we were on our way. We got Kyle from daycare, then drove to the dojo.
