Chapter 24
Greenlight's p.o.v.
After he ordered the morning patrols, Greenlight padded to the fresh-kill pile. He picked out a large fish and went to find Lilyheart. As he spotted her talking with Hollypool, Batpaw came up to him.
"What do you want?" Greenlight's meow was muffled by the fish in his jaws.
"What are you going to teach me?" Batpaw asked. Greenlight squinted his eyes. 'I think he has something on his mind...'
"I was going to eat before, and you should, too. We are going to have a long day." Greenlight answered.
"Okay..." Greenlight watched Batpaw pad away to meet Bluepaw at the entrance of the Elders' den. Bluepaw had a ball of moss in her jaws and dropped as they talked. Greenlight felt a pinch of jealousy, but pushed it away.
Greenlight sighed and walked near to were Lillyheart was. "Lillyheart, I am expecting Hawkstar's kits and I don't know how to tell him! Can you help? I mean he is your brother..." Greenlight wasn't very shocked. Hawkstar and Hollypool were pretty much mates since they spent a lot of time together. Greenlight padded over to Lillyheart's side.
"Hi Lilyheart." His meowed muffled by the fish.
"Oh, Hello Greenlight." Lillyheart then turned to Hollypool, "We should talk more about... this later."
"Okay. Good bye Lillyheart and Greenlight." Hollypool dipped her head to them and left.
"So Lilyheart, do you want to share this fish?" he asked, feeling a bit nervous.
Lilyheart purred. "Okay, thank you." Greenlight smiled and purred. Amber eyes meet green and he forgot about his jealousy towards his apprentice. He forgot the pain when he found out he was half-clan. But he didn't forget the love he still had for Bluepaw. Yet that love for Bluepaw was turning into a love for... 'Lillyheart.' He looked down at the fish a moved it towards Lillyheart with his paw. She purred and took the first bite.
"So, Lillyheart, do you want to take Flamepaw with me and Batpaw to train later?" he asked, eyes filled with hope.
"Okay." she purred and licked his nose.
...Bluepaw's p.o.v.
As she walked out of the Elders' den with her jaw full of moss she saw Batpaw and Greenlight talking. 'Why in StarClan-? Oh, Greenlight is Batpaw's mentor. I forgot... I wish I could forget the day the monster came and crushed my parents. Their bloody bodies with tire mark on half of their body. Eyes bulged out and came out... I wish I could forget!' Bluepaw stood in the entrance of the Elders' den, shivering as if she were cold from the winds that blew past her. She was still looking at Batpaw as he hurried over to her. He smoothed out her ruffled fur with his tail.
"Its fine Bluepaw, you'll be alright. Let's go get some moss for the Elders'. I heard Pantherflame and Vixenclaw are moving into the Elders' den today. They said they are getting tired after that long journey. I will help you get some moss. Come on." Batpaw meowed, flicking his tail and starting to leave.
Bluepaw dropped the moss and meowed hoarsely, "I am fine I just- I am tired and want to go alone. You know? Clear my mind." Batpaw nodded and came up real close to her, locking eyes and said, "If you ever need me, just tell me and I'll be right there. You can trust me." and then he turned around and padded up to Greenlight saying he was ready to leave. 'You can trust me.' The phrase kept repeating in her head as she headed out the entrance of camp.
Once she was out of camp she reached the forest part of the territory. Bluepaw looked around for moss but instead she heard voices. She padded closer and in a bush to see what was going on. Five cats were in a circle talking.
"What are we going to do Jaywing? We were suppose to be spying for our Clans.. but I really have fallen in love with you." Shimmersparkle whispered. She looked at her paws and back up at Jaywing who purred.
"I fell in love with you, too." Jaywing padded closer to Shimmersparkle till their fur was brushing and he sat down next to her. They both purred and turned to Thornleaf and Nightshine. "What about you two?"
Nightshine looked down at the ground, avoiding eye contact with her 'mate'. The black she-cat softly meowed, "How could we not have fallen for our fake mates? We hadn't have to talk to each other so much, we wouldn't have been..." Nightshine looked to Thornleaf, her eyes pleaded for help.
"We wouldn't have gotten to know one another and realize how perfect we are for each other." Thornleaf meowed more directly to Nightshine. Her eyes brightened, and shined in the dim morning light. Nightshine purred and licked his nose.
Bluepaw couldn't take it anymore, seeing all these cats lovey-dovey. She burst through the bushes. "Why did you cats really come to join my clan for?!" she yowled in rage. 'Spying on my Clan and telling their leaders all our secrets! How low these stupid, smelly, fish for brains!' Bluepaw hissed.
"Wh- what are you doing here? How much of it did you hear?" Thornleaf demanded.
"Enough to know you were sent by your pathetic leaders to spy!" Bluepaw spat. "What have you told they? What secrets have you given away?!"
Shimmersparkle sighed. "We have only told them a few battle moves. Today we were going to tell them all StreamClan's secrets, but decided not to. You heard why." Shimmersparkle looked at Jaywing, who nodded to go on. "They wanted us to find StreamClan's weak spot so they could come and fight during the start of leaf-bare and get more territory."
"What! That doesn't make sense! How could LightningClan get anything out of it?! They are across the lake!" Bluepaw meowed, more curious that angry.
"BreezeClan was going to come and battle and most likely win. They would get a lot of your territory and then LightningClan would get a little part of BreezeClan's territory for sending cats to help fight in the battle." Jaywing answered.
"When is the battle exactly?" Bluepaw questioned.
"The second snow fall of the Leaf-bare. We only have a about a sunrise to prepare for battle!" Nightshine meowed, fear and worry fulled her amber/yellow eyes.
"Okay. After Sunpaw's warrior ceremony, you all will come clean. We will prepare after. Then when night comes, Sunpaw will have her vigil and can warn us if they can. Fuzzyspot, go get some moss and take it to the elders den for me. I have till sun high to get some prey, and it's almost sun high." Bluepaw meowed.
"Okay. How much moss?" Fuzzyspot asked.
"A lot. Get some for Berrystripe, too. If there is going to be a battle, we are going to need some moss for the injured cats." Bluepaw meowed and padded off.
She caught two mice on her way to the river. As she got to the river she forgot about her fear of drowning like her kin did when they were kits. "They water is so beautiful, yet so deadly. It could kill a cat in a few heart beats, and literally take your breath away..." Bluepaw looked around real quick hoping no one heard her thinking out loud again. She caught three fish and a water vole by the time it she had to get back to camp for Sunpaw's warrior ceremony.
As she padded into the camp, Hawkstar was getting ready to jump onto the Highrock. He looked at her and nodded approvingly of the three fish she carried on her back and the two mice and one water vole in her jaws. She felt pride as she placed the rodents down and then the fish.
"All cats old enough to fish and caught prey on their own, meet beneath the Highrocks for a Clan meeting!" Hawkstar called as the remaining cats hurried out of their dens. "Hopesong, are you satisfied that Sunpaw is ready to become a warrior?" Hawkstar asked.
"She is more than ready." Hopesong meowed, pride in her violet eyes. 'Violet eyes? That reminds me of my mom...' Bluepaw looked down sadly for a few heart beats and then shook it off.
"I, Hawkstar, leader of StreamClan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code and I command her to you as a warrior in her turn." Hawkstar looked at Sunpaw as she stepped forward. "SUnpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and defend this Clan even at the cost of your life?"
Sunpaw looked up at the leader and nodded. " I do." she meowed.
"Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name. Sunpaw, from now on you will be known as Sundapple, for your loyalty and honesty." (lol, Sundapple honest...) Hawkstar jumped down and rested his chin on top of her head and she licked is shoulder in return. "We welcome you as a full member of the Clan."
"Sundapple! Sundapple!" StreamClan cheered. 'I hope I get a pretty name like hers...' Bluepaw thought.
Hawkstar waited for the cheering to die down. "Also, Pantherflame and Vixenclaw decided to retire due to the long journey and them being older." Hawkstar preformed the warrior to elder ceremony and the Clan cheered for the old cats. Bluepaw looked over to Jaywing and Shimmersparkle, giving them a reminding look that they had to tell the Clan.
Jaywing nodded his head and spoke over the cheering, "Hawkstar! Me, Shimmersparkle, Thornleaf, Nightshine, and Fuzzyspot have something to tell you and the Clan." Hawkstar looked at the little group confused and suspiciousness in his eyes.
"Alright. Everyone quiet down! Jaywing, Shimmersparkle, Thornleaf, Nightshine, and Fuzzyspot have to tell us something." Hawkstar called, and it seemed to get the cats' attention.
Jaywing and the others got in front of the crowd. "We told you our sob stories when we first joined. But those stories were fake. We didn't love each other and were sent by our leaders to come and spy on this Clan and give them all your secrets, like fighting tequnices." Jaywing explained.
"Yes, we told them a few of the fighting things and then they told us why we were spying on you. They said on the second snow fall of the beginning of Leaf-bare, BreezeClan would come and demand a giant piece of your territory. If you didn't give it to BreezeClan they would bring in LightningClan cats and fight for it. They would win knowing our battle moves. If they did, LightningClan would get part of BreezeClan's territory for helping them win." Shimmersparkle nodded to Nightshine, asking her to finish.
Nightshine's amber/yellow eyes looked worried as she continued. "Since it had already snowed once, they will be preparing for battle, so should we. We have only about a sunrise to prepare since it is turning to Leaf-bare."
Tigerstripe looked furious. "WHy helps us now after you told them our secrets!?" he growled.
"Thornleaf and Nightshine had actually fell in love. Same with me and Shimmersparkle." Jaywing meowed.
"And we love this Clan and the cats in it. We swore to protect and defend it." Fuzzyspot added.
"But you gave secrets away!" Tigerstripe yowled.
"We stopped about a more than a moon ago!" Thornleaf hissed.
Hawkstar yowled over the bristling cats who were prepared to fight. "STOP! At least they had come clean. They will be punished later, but right now we have to prepare for battle. Pantherflame and Vixenclaw, even though you are elders, could you help now the officially retire after the battle?" Hawkstar asked.
Pantherflame and Vixenclaw nodded. "Of course, one last battle before we retire!" Pantherflame purred with Vixenclaw.
Bluepaw purred as she say the pair return to the elders' den were Barkfur and Graypelt was. 'Were is Hazeleyes?' Bluepaw looked around. SHe was worried. Hazeleyes has been really depressed lately ever since her former mate had died. Maybe she was going to kill herself. Bluepaw panicked.
"Hawkstar! Hawkstar!" Bluepaw cried. Everyone turned to see why and what she was doing. "Hawkstar! Hazeleyes is missing! I think she left to go kill herself to be with Winterstar!"

End of chapter 24! A cliffhanger! Again! Sorry! I have been busy and lazy so this took a while to be typed and posted... But thanks for the reviews! :'D So I am not changing my pen name.. It would be confusing for me so yeah... Okay! I have a poll and it you already know that it talks about your favorite couples! 7 for BlueXGreen and 5 for BlueXBat! ) for poor little Mickey...
