AN: I'm really sorry! Not updating makes me feel so guilty even if you tell me you don't care. This is my last chapter before Christmas: lots of family members arrive tomorrow and I won't be able to update.
I feel sorry for almost every character in books. I'm probably strange, but I feel sorry for the evil guys as well, even if I don't agree with what they are doing...

Orc carried me towards Astrid's boat. The planks creaked and groaned with the weight pressing on them. I gripped Orc tighter as he stepped onto the boat. It rocked and groaned in protest to the man made of rock. Orc started to walk towards the door when I found a gun being pointed at me.
I panicked before I saw a flash of blonde. Astrid. Or Annabeth.
"Don't shoot." I ordered. To my dismay it came out more like begging. I raised my chin to the gun, daring the person behind it to shoot.
Astrid lowered the gun slowly, a smile brightening her face. Her eyes drifted to my leg and quickly lost their shine. She ran the couple of steps towards me, making the boat rock again (but only slightly). She touched the biggest scratch. I flinched away from her touch before Orc lift me out of reach.
"God sent me to help her. Don't touch the leg."
Astrid took a step back, a frown settling on her face. "What happened to you?"
I thought about everything that had happened that day. Sam's mom, the bike accident, the coyote.
"Fell off a bike. Nothing too serious." I under exaggerated.
"Your leg is injured badly." Astrid looked me in the eye and I knew I was going to be stuck doing nothing for a while. "You need to go to Lana."
She looked at Orc, waiting for him to leave so Lana could heal me. Astrid turned away and was about to descend into the boat when I spoke.
"I have a message." Astrid stopped and nodded.
"Come inside. We have Cup-a-Noodles."
Orc couldn't fit through the small entrance so Astid helped me (although she couldn't carry me like Orc). I sat down and watched as Astrid heated some water for the food. My mouth started to water before thI garage of a coyote flashed through my mind.
Suddenly I didn't feel so hungry.
I shook my head: food was not the main concern right now.
"Coonie Temple, Sam's mom, wants to talk to you. She says things are getting nasty out there and she's right. I saw a sign saying 'kill them all, let God handle it'."
Astrid nodded, her eyes focusing on the water in front of her.
"Not very Christian."
I nodded head in agreement. "She'll meet you at the barrier."
Astrid put the water into the Cup-a-Noodles and handed me a fork. I ate like no tomorrow, the affects of the day catching up to me. Astrid and I looked at each other. She gave a warm smile before leaving me to finish the noodles.

I walked along. I wasn't really doing anything, just wandering. As I went close to the guard I heard voices. It sounded urgent, even though I couldn't make out what they were saying.
PI ran down the dock, searching for the source of the noise. I saw Diana talking to the guard and was immediately on edge. Diana went everywhere with Gaia, so where was the evil kid?
I walked up to Diana, trying not to let my inner fears come through.
"Thank God your here. Gaia is over that hill. Now."
My mind froze with shock. Gaia was going to kill everybody: we were almost completely defenceless. No Sam. No Caine. Not even Percy was here.
Fear was pumping around my body, washing away the shock. I had to fight, even if it killed me. I had to buy time for everybody else.
PI turned to the guard, my mind calculating the best way to attack ordefend. I would need Jack. He and I were the only people who had damaging powers. I went through my list of useful mutants. Nobody else was there.
"Go get Jack." I ordered the guard. Diana looked at me disbeleivingly.
"Is that it?" She asked, her body tensing. I nodded my head before I remembered. Breeze had gone on patrol but she might still be close.
"There's the Breeze." I told he before turning away. "Breeze! Breeze!"
Nobody came whizzing in to save the day. I saw something large out of the corner of my eye. Orc.
"Orc!" I shouted to the massive figure made of stone. "Is Breeze here?"
Orc shook his head sadly and said something about God that I ignored. My body was high on adrenaline, preparing for the fight ahead.
I turned back to Diana: my main source of information on Gaia. "What can she do? What powers does she have?"
Diana frowned and looked at her feet. "She says she has everybody's power until they die. Then she loses it."
My mind reeled at the new news. I needed Astrid and Annabeth to strategize now. I knew I couldn't do it by myself.
"Orc," I addressed stone person towering above me. "Bring Astrid and Annabeth here. We need them."
Diana raised an eyebrow when I mentioned Annabeth but she didn't ask who she was. Orc left to go and find everybody else.
First came Jack. He was running down the dock, guard in tow. He face looked terrified, but determined.
Then was Annabeth, golden hair streaming behind her. Her grey eyes were calculating, analyzing everything about the situation.
Last was Astrid, Orc quickly running after her. She looked thoughtful, ready to hear the rest of the information.
We were in no way ready, but we were going to give it our best shot.
I am evil...
Massive cliffhanger to leave you thinking.
Merry Christmas!
