"It means the blood on the fiber once was from Casey," Maura excitedly states.
"What?" Jane asks, confused.
Maura continues. "It can take months or on rare occasions, years, for antibodies to recognize a different type of blood as a non-foreign entity. Excess antibodies indicates the presence of foreign blood. Casey donated blood that was received by—"
"Mike Bowman," Jane interrupts as she lifts her eyes. "I spoke to him the other day at the clinic."
Jane pulls her phone from her belt clip.
"Whom are you calling?" Maura asks.
"Frost," replies Jane as she dials. "A team has to search Mike's apartment."
Maura becomes anxious. "I don't think we have enough time to get a warrant."
"We're not getting a warrant," Jane says as she shuts the file and stands, placing her phone to her ear.
"If he killed these men he's not just going to let a slew of cops search his home," Maura retorts.
Jane grabs the blazer she shed hours ago from the back of her chair. "He's not gonna be at home."
Maura curiously looks at her friend, but chooses not to question. Jane maneuvers her arms into her jacket and they head towards the front door.
