Chapter 25, everybody! Which is short—sorry about that. :|
Yuko13, thanks for the review! It'll probably come to you at three in the morning—that's when things normally come back. And thank you! I'm glad you're liking The Frost King! And yes, you should—I recommend Don't Starve to anyone. Fair warning, though: once you start playing, you will never escape. 0^0
Kender20, thanks for the review! Yes….Let's just say that Chaos Creatures are more closely tied to their emotions than humans are….No chance, no way, he won't say he's in love—oh wait, wrong franchise. :| Thank you, I will! And I did get a chance to look at Dreamhunter—I came, I saw, I reviewed, I followed, and now I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter. :D
Blanket disclaimers are in Chapter 1 (I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh!, I do not own Avatar, I do not own Hercules, I do own Chaos Creatures, etc., et al…).
Yugi awoke in a warm mass of curled-up bodies, woken up by something.
He shifted a bit, turned a little, finally ran his clawtips against the offending object. Kelsey's back. There were those two spines on either side of her back, yes, but there were some bony ridges next to them as well. Well, she would be happy—she had been wanting wings so badly, and those were the first signs of them coming in. Joey and Tristan had them at one point, but now those lines down their backs had swollen to the point of looking like long twin blisters on their backs—Elsie had said that meant they were almost ready, and had been keeping an eye on them to ensure they didn't pick at it and ruin their wings….Yugi yawned and laid back down to—
Sleep.
He sat bolt upright, fear turning his insides to ice.
He had been asleep!
But that meant he should have woken up in his other body!
No. Nononononono—
Yugi glanced around frantically—no one had seen him wake up. And if they did, would they care? No—Yugi—no, Yami, as they thought his name was—would just be acting like another Chaos.
No. No. I am not a Chaos. I'm Yugi. I'm Yugi Moutou, and I'm going to go to sleep and wake up back in my old body.
He burrowed his head between his arms and curled up tightly, willing himself back to sleep. But did that really work? It was thinking harder and harder but he had to fall asleep he had to—
Yugi woke up, the little aches alerting him to the fact that he was indeed in the right proper body.
Or at least, he thought so.
It was getting hard to tell.
That unknown presence watched as young Yugi Moutou forced himself back to his old body. Ah, it was getting harder now.
Good.
