A/N: I've written more in the past week than I have in the past month and a half. I think I've finally broken free of my inspiration block!
Amiya stepped into the room, the door behind her ajar. Light streamed into the dark room from the open door, though it didn't do much to alleviate the darkness.
She blinked her eyes as she stepped farther into the darkness, breathing heavily as she looked around, eyesight slowly adjusting to the dim, almost non-existent light. The teen reached out to her side, finding the wall as she worked to settler her breathing a bit more. She had never become this easily winded before she had fallen down, what could be causing it? Shaking her head to rid the thought, she slowly edged further into the room.
Amiya had only gotten a few steps further into the room when a figure suddenly looked over her in the darkness, making Amiya let out a startled gasp as she stumbled backwards, almost losing her touch on the wall. The figure towered over her, nearly blending completely into the darkness. Bright, white eyelights similar to Sans' gazed at her from a pale white skull, those and it's hands with strange holes were the only parts of it visible in the dark room. The figure seemed to regard her curiously, on hand mid-reach as if it had intended to grab Amiya.
Amiya looked up at the figure as the initial fear turned into only a sense of unease, eyes flicking about to see if she could find any others before focusing on what stood before her once again. "What... What are you?"
The Monster, if that's what it was considered, didn't answer, instead turning it's head and pointing into the darkness. As Amiya looked, a dull light bloomed like a flower in the darkness, slowly growing brighter the longer she looked at it.
Without thinking, Amiya slowly started to approach the light with cautious steps, hand still trailing along the rock wall. The source of the light became clearer the closer she walked to it, 6 glowing hearts each enclosed in a glass canister longer than the length of her arm. A small figure was sitting in front of the canisters, huddled close to the light that was futily fighting off the surrounding darkness.
The figure that had appeared when Amiya first stepped into the room came up behind the teen.
*Help them...*
The murmur echoed in the back of Amiya's mind, prompting the teen to reach down and gently tug the child's arm with one hand, her other hand losing the side of the wall. She would find it later. The child didn't respond to the tug on their sleeve, remaining in their huddled form just inches away from the canisters. Amiya grabbed the child's arm with both hands, giving a sharp rug and finally managing to move the child an inch. They finally responded, looking at their arm in confusion. It didn't seem like they could see Amiya's grip on their arm.
It was like pulling someone through drying cement as Amiya worked on tugging the child closer to the door, whom was looking over at the figure in confusion, speaking words that Amiya wasn't able to hear.
They had made it to just inside the door. Amiya pulled once again, but didn't seem to be able to drag them much farther. Her grip on the child nearly slipped, as if something in the room was trying to pull the kid back into the room and swallow then in the darkness once again. Amiya tightened her grip and planted her feet, focusing on the hallway right behind them.
The two tumbled out into the bright hallway, falling into a heap in the dirt as the door slammed shut behind them, shutting then out for good.
The Monster in the room folded its hands together, gaze focused on the door. Once again alone, though now it had a faint light to accompany it.
