Author's Note: Someone was worried about the lunch date with Tara because they were thinking it was gonna be more than a lunch date, so I'll ease your mind a little now. I didn't even write the lunch date, that was kind of just a 'filler' thing within that chapter, so no worries there. I'll ease your mind more, in an earlier author's note when I said there would be drama, which I'm guessing is why you thought of the lunch date starting it, and there will be drama(it starts in two chapters), but it is not in the form of infidelity, so hopefully they'll ease your mind some more. :)

I tried to make the end of this chapter kind of cute because the chapter is a little on the depressing side; well, at least, to me. lol So hopefully I succeeded.

So now that all that info is out of the way, enjoy chapter twenty four. :)

Chapter Twenty Four

Chasity laid in bed that evening feeling slightly depressed. It was too early for her to go to sleep, but she didn't feel like doing anything else, either. So instead she just laid in her bed sulking. She had taken Jon to the airport and kissed him goodbye earlier in the afternoon. It hadn't even been a full day without him yet and she already missed him. It was clearly going to be one long week.

Her phone began ringing from beside her where it lay on the bedside table. Chasity quickly jerked the device off the table and glanced at the screen. Jon's name was dancing across it. Quickly sliding her finger from left to right on the screen so she didn't miss the call, she placed the electronic gadget to her ear. "Hi," she answered, but did nothing to even try to mask her newly present mood. Jon could easily tell by her tone there was something up and she wasn't her usual happy-go-lucky self at the moment.

"Hi," he responded, and before she could steer the conversation in any direction away from herself, he quickly added "What's wrong?"

"What do you mean," Chasity questioned, stalling as she contemplated not telling him, but she knew he'd worry about her no matter what she said, and it would be best to just tell him the truth.

"You know what I'm talking about. You sound so down. What's wrong," Jon questioned again. Chasity sighed.

"I just miss you, and as a result I'm kind of depressed, and part of me wishes I had taken you up on your offer to stay at your place just so I could sleep snuggled up to your pillow." Jon frowned.

"I'll be home before you know it, and then I'm home until the twenty sixth," he reminded her. "You'll see me so much in six days that you'll be sick of me by the time I head back out on the road," Jon chuckled, causing Chasity to give a half-hearted laugh back. She appreciated his attempt at cheering her up, but it wasn't really helping.

"You're giving a nice effort into cheering me up, but honestly, it's not helping," she informed him, running her hand gently over her swollen stomach as Kaleb began lightly kicking her. "Besides, I'm pretty sure I could never get sick of seeing you, or talking to you."

Jon hated how down she sounded. He hadn't even been gone a day yet and she made it sound like he'd been gone a month. He was worried about how depressed she'd be by the time he got home; and if she was this bad now, he was really dreading the longer, overseas tours they had coming up in the next few months. He tried to think of a way to make her feel better when he remembered her saying something about regretting taking him up on the offer to stay at his place. "Chas, go to my apartment and stay there. I really think it'll help you out with your mood some." Chasity furrowed her brow. How was she supposed to do that? She didn't have a key to his place.

"That's sweet Jon. Really it is, but I don't have a key to your place, so I have no way to get in." Jon smirked.

"That's the joys of living in the high end apartment I chose to live in. They know who you are over there. Just go into the office and ask Donna for the spare key," Jon informed her. "After you get yourself situated at my place, call me back on facetime. I think being at my place and actually being able to see me while we talk will help you."

"Okay, if you say so," Chasity responded, hanging up with him. She wasn't convinced this idea would work, but she was willing to give anything a shot at this point because it had been less than a day and she was ready to just curl up in her bed and cry until he came home. There was only one explanation for that. Well, besides the new depression issue. Damn pregnancy hormones!

Chasity quickly packed her suitcase with enough clothes to last her more than a week, but more was better than not enough in her eyes. Shutting down and locking up her apartment she quickly made it to Jon's building and walked into the lobby area, where she saw the property manager, Donna, sitting at her desk inside the little office that was to the right of the lobby doors. Smiling at her, she waved. Donna waved back. "Chasity, nice to see you. Here's the spare key to Jon's apartment," Chasity was confused. She hadn't even asked for it yet, so how did she… Jon.

"He called you, didn't he?" Donna laughed.

"He did. Told me you were feeling a little down because he had to leave town for longer than usual and he told you to come here because he thought it'd make you feel better." Chasity had to give it to him. He was one step ahead of her in everything thus far. Chasity took the key from Donna's hand.

"Thanks. I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot of you over the next week or so," Chasity told her. Donna nodded, silently agreeing with her before Chasity headed up to Jon's apartment with her luggage.

Hanging up her last blouse in Jon's closet, on the side he had told her was 'reserved' for her, Chasity stepped back and chuckled. Jon being 'domestic' was a bit of a funny thought, considering how they had both grown up. Plopping down on his bed, she grabbed his pillow and hugged it to her chest, burying her nose in the pillowcase and sniffing it. His scent that lingered against the pillow hit her nose and made her smile. Just being in his place, where his scent still lingered in the air helped a little, but being able to see him would probably help even more. Releasing the pillow and lying it back on his side of the bed, she grabbed her phone and opened her contacts. Tapping his name and the 'facetime' option, she laid her head on his pillow, propped her phone up against her hand and snuggled into the pillow while she waited for it to connect and for him to answer. After about thirty seconds, his face lit up the screen. "Hi, beautiful. I take it you're all situated at my place now?" Chasity smiled.

"Yes, but I can't believe you called and warned Donna I was coming over." Jon chuckled.

"I just wanted the key to be ready for you when you go there. I'm trying to do all it takes to make you feel better," Jon admitted. "Hell, you know I hate using this type of technology, but if it'll help you then I'm willing to use it," Jon reminded her. Chasity laughed.

"Hey, this was your idea, mister, not mine." He nodded.

"And I just told you I will do anything if it'll help you," he said again. "Have you talked to Tara since earlier," he asked, changing the subject to something a little happier. Chasity shook her head.

"No, I should probably call her and let her know I'm staying at your place now, though. We're supposed to meet for lunch tomorrow. Don't want her showing up at my place and thinking I've ditched her or something." Jon laughed.

"You don't have the guts to ditch anyone; you're not that cruel." Chasity scoffed.

"Shows how much you know. I've ditched quite a few people in my day," she informed him. She was totally lying, and he knew it, but he opted to let her have her fantasy.

"Oh, is that so," he asked, a smirk present on his face as Chasity nodded. "Well, excuse me," he sarcastically responded. Chasity laughed.

"You're truly amazing, you know that, right," she questioned, once again changing the subject of the conversation.

"No, I'm not, but thanks for the compliment." Chasity shook her head, wholeheartedly disagreeing with him.

"Yes, you are. You're using facetime; technology you absolutely despise, just to make sure I'm not depressed, and you're allowing me to stay in your apartment all because you can't be here with me. If that doesn't scream 'amazing', I'm not sure what does," Chasity explained.

Jon would never outright admit he was amazing, but he couldn't really disagree with her. "Well, I won't use this app with anyone other than you. Hell, I barely know how this thing works," Jon laughed. "I'm lucky I was able to figure out how to answer your call when it came through." Chasity shook her head and laughed.

"Oh quit over exaggerating. It's not that difficult." Jon shrugged.

"Maybe it's not, but it got another smile out of you. Are you feeling better now?"

Chasity contemplated his question. Was she actually feeling better, or was she just distracted? She honestly wasn't sure, but she didn't want Jon worrying about her anymore. He had to stay focused when he was in the ring so he wouldn't botch any moves or end up injured because his focus was elsewhere. So, she did the only thing she could think to do. "Yeah, I feel a lot better." She lied. "I'm glad you thought of this."

Jon wasn't stupid, he knew she wasn't being totally honest with him, but to avoid any major issues that could worsen her depressed condition he decided to just let it slide for now. "Good. Well, it's getting late and I have to be up early tomorrow," Jon informed her, making a disgruntled face as he grunted. "I stupidly told Colby I'd go to crossfit with him and he goes at like five AM, so I should get some sleep, and you should too," Jon told her. Chasity nodded.

"Yeah, you're right. I'll just continue to snuggle with your pillow. It smells like you," Chasity smirked. Jon shook his head. "Actually, your scent is lingering in this entire apartment." Jon chuckled.

"Well, that's good. You know, considering it is my apartment, right?" Chasity nodded, laughing softly. "Anyway, I'll facetime you tomorrow," he told her. Chasity hated this part, but she knew it was coming. Everything has to end at some point; nothing lasts forever. Or at least, if you believed the saying, that's what they said.

"Alright, goodnight. I'll talk to you tomorrow," she said as they hung up.

No sooner had they both hung up when Kaleb started kicking and moving around again. That was when Chasity realized Kaleb had been still for a large majority of their conversation. Singling he could actually hear Jon's voice. When she was talking on the phone with him at her place Kaleb must have sensed by her tone or something that it was him and because he couldn't hear him, he got restless. Once she got to his place and facetimed him, Kaleb had calmed down. That is, until they hung up and Jon's voice was gone again. He hated that he couldn't hear it anymore, probably just as much as she did. She smiled and opened her text app and tapped on the window containing her previous messages with Jon. Tapping on the "message" text display she quickly typed 'Kaleb likes the sound of your voice, and is currently pissed off he can't hear it anymore; he's kicking me pretty hard because your voice disappeared. Just thought you'd like to know that. Goodnight.' She hit send, and hooked the device to its charger before lying it on Jon's beside table, not expecting a response back from him until morning.

Jon read Chasity's text and couldn't help but chuckle. He tapped the window to bring up the keyboard. 'Cute. Sorry he's disturbing your sleep time because he can't hear me anymore. Still want you to try to get some sleep, though. Night, beautiful." Jon sent back before he too hooked his phone to its charger, laid it down on the night table beside the bed he was sleeping in tonight, and tried to get some sleep himself.
