Here it is! The epilogue. I hope I wrapped up all the loose ends.
Thank you to everyone who has ready this fan fiction. I can't believe that people are reading this from countries that I haven't even heard of. I think it is amazing how the vampire diaries have become so popular all over the world and the fan fiction was brought everywhere as well. (It's also really amazing that so many people are reading this in a language that isn't their first language. I think that is so cool! I speak English and I'm pretty good with French, but that's it. I wish I could learn more) Sorry about the rambling!
Thank you for all the reviews. It really makes me happy to see all the support for this story.
Joan89: Thank you for reviewing every week. I love hearing from you.
And now to the end…
70 Years Later
The waves were relaxing compared to the shouts of joy form the people. Rebekah knew that she should have gotten her own private beach. If Klaus heard he would have been upset that she was "staying with the commoners".
Rebekah was on a small island near South America. It was gorgeous. But the only problem was that there was only one five star resort, and apparently it was where most people stayed.
Rebekah was on the beach getting a few moment of relaxation before going out again that evening.
Rebekah closed her eyes letting her body feel the small amount of warmth on her body. Rebekah was glad that because she was a vampire, the sun wouldn't turn into lobster red sunburn, but she also wouldn't ever be tan.
"Hello Sweetheart."
Rebekah knew that voice at an instant. She opened her eyes and removed her sunglasses.
"Stefan Salvatore," Rebekah said. She had not heard from him since she moved to New Orleans almost seventy years ago.
He looked as handsome as ever. Rebekah let her eyes fall and scan over his body only in his swim shorts.
Stefan smirked as he felt Rebekah's eyes approve of his body.
He took the opportunity to do the same for her. Rebekah wore a royal purple bikini that matched the color of her toe nails. She hadn't changed and Stefan loved that.
"Would you like to go somewhere and talk?" Stefan asked her.
Even after all that time Rebekah was still attracted to Stefan. She decided that she would take this opportunity to see if she was still in love with him.
"Sure, do you want to go out for drinks?" She asked. It was early afternoon, but it appeared that they were both here for vacation.
"Umm, sure," Stefan said.
"Why don't we meet in the lobby in an hour? It would give me time to change," Rebekah said. She wanted to look good for Stefan.
"As I recall, it doesn't take you an hour to get changed," Stefan said with a smirk.
"I need to shower," Rebekah said. "But I'm pretty sure you would only remember undressing me. And that takes no time at all."
Rebekah stood up and took a step towards Stefan.
"An hour then?"
Rebekah rolled her eyes and walked back to the hotel swaying her hips for Stefan. She could feel his eyes still on her.
Stefan and Rebekah met downstairs an hour later.
Stefan made it there first. When Rebekah stepped out of the elevator, Stefan couldn't help but rake his eyes over her body. Rebekah was wearing a tight sleek black halter dress. It front had a deep cut and it gave Stefan a prefect view of Rebekah's cleavage.
As Stefan made his eyes down to Rebekah's legs he saw that she was wearing cherry red stilettos that made it look like Rebekah's legs went on forever.
Stefan was wearing a dark gray dress shirt and dark jeans. He looked very in style, which Rebekah appreciated.
"You look lovely, Rebekah," Stefan said as she came closer.
Rebekah smiled and Stefan kissed her cheek.
"Where are we going sweetheart?" Stefan asked. Rebekah tucked her arm through his as they began to walk to the doors.
"There is a new night club up the way that I wanted to check out. What is your current diet?" Rebekah wanted to know if Stefan was a bunny eater or the ripper she loved.
"I prefer blood bags, but I am able to drink from the vein without mass murdering," he said.
"Good," she said; maybe they would go out for dessert/
They walked to the new club. Rebekah compelled their way to the front and in past the security.
It was dark inside and the music was already roaring.
"Let's get a table," Stefan said. He led Rebekah over to a table on the side of the stage.
It was really busy for being the early evening, but it was in the center of the resort area on the island.
"How have you been?" Stefan asked Rebekah as they waited for their drink order to be taken.
"I've been good Stefan. I travelled mostly over the years. I did go to college once, but I already knew the material so it was pretty boring,"
Stefan chuckled. He had gone to college a couple times himself, but he found the information interesting every time.
"Which doppelganger are you currently with," Rebekah asked. She had heard through the grape vine that he had switched interests in the doppelganger a couple times. And that there was more than just two, but she wasn't ready to get into that conversation.
"Currently, I am with neither of the ones you know," Stefan said.
"Hmmmm," Rebekah said. She wasn't sure if she believed that.
"So are you running around on your own, or is Klaus looming in the corner somewhere?" Stefan asked. He finished off his drink.
"Nik and I have grown closer over the years. He trusts me now," Rebekah said not giving away her brother's whereabouts incase Stefan was there on a mission to take Klaus down.
"And Elijah? Is he here or is he daggered in a coffin?"
"I'd rather not talk about my family if that is alright."
Stefan stood up and offered her his hand. She accepted and they went to the dance floor which required no talking.
The couple danced to a few upbeat songs, before the DJ started to play slower songs.
Stefan and Rebekah stayed on the dance floor. She liked how close he was holding her. As much as Rebekah was uncertain about Stefan, she knew that her love for him had never left. It was still there, even after all that time.
"Do you have any plans for tonight?" Stefan whispered in her hear.
His breath on her ear, made her shiver from her head to her toes.
"What do you have in mind?" She asked him as he spun them in a slow circle.
"Stay with me." He said.
Those three simple words were enough for her. Rebekah was ready to drop all of her plans just to spend some more time with him.
"Do you remember the twenties?" she asked.
"Of course sweetheart!" Stefan said. "The drinking, the dancing, the blood; who would forget that?" Stefan brought her closer into him. "Even though I was the ripper me during that time, I still had a lot of fun."
"Perfect," Was the only response she gave him. Rebekah wanted to stay up all night and do it all with him. She wanted to spend the night with him and hopefully make sure that he knew he was the only one for her.
Thank you for making it this far!
I'm not sure what my next story will be. I have some ideas, but not a full plot yet so it will be a while until I post a new one.
Please review for one last time!
