Chapter 25

Kaitlin's Point of View

"I couldn't let you die on your own!" I cried

"I told you not to come, you should have listened!" Mom scolded.

I chose to ignore her as I flung my arms around her. She was performing some magic on the stone so she couldn't return it. As I released her I saw tears in her eyes.

"You and Henry have given me more happiness that I ever thought I could have after Daniel died." Mom whispered.

"You are a great mom, deserved everything." I smiled.

"Thanks Katy, but you need to go. It's not safe down here." Mom told me.

As if to prove a point the ground shook violently.

"Please go." Mom begged.

I was about to turn and leave when the Charming's appeared.

"What are all you idiots doing down here?" Mom snapped.

"Mom?" Henry gasped as soon as he saw her.

"And you brought my son?" Mom complained.

Much to my surprise Henry threw his arms around her. Mom couldn't help but smile as he gently let her go.

"Regina there is nothing we can do to stop this." Mary Margaret told us.

"It's to late." David added.

A silence fell as realisation hit us all. Emma made her way to David and Mary Margaret and for the first time in years called them mom and dad. I didn't know what to do but I knew I had to do something. So I made my way over to them. Thankfully Mary Margaret seemed to get that I was at a loss. She gently pulled me into a hug.

"I wish things could have been different between us. Regina needs you, go be with her. I love you Kaitlin." She whispered as she gave me a gentle push towards mom.

"Thank-you." I managed to say as I made my way to mom.

I once again hugged her and we prepared for the device to do it's job. Henry joined us as we clung to each other. It was then Emma had her brain wave.

"Magic!" She exclaimed.

"What?" I asked confused as I let go of mom.

"I have it, you have it. I am the saviour so can't I help?" She asked.

Mom looked shocked as she thought about what Emma said.

"I guess it's worth a try." She finally agreed.

I moved out of the way to let Emma try.

She quickly copied mom and within seconds some of the magic transferred to her. It really was magic as the device began to shake.

"Is it working?" I asked.

"Yes." Mom grinned.

However as she said that there was a blast. We were thrown backwards and I hit the ground with a bang.

"Awe." I complained as I clambered back to my feet.

"Everyone ok?" Mary Margaret asked as she helped Emma up.

"Fine." Both mom and myself replied.

"How about you kid?" Emma asked as she turned to where Henry was.

"Henry?" She tried again when she got no response.

"Where is he?" Mom cried.

We all took off towards the exit of the mines. Halfway up we found his bag.

"They took him." Emma stated.

"Who?" Mom questioned.

"Greg and Tamara." Emma hissed.
