CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE: Clear Passages and a Secret Account
Jenna was in the office looking at the inventory list when Juice knocked on the open door of the office.
"Hey, Juice." She said looking up and smiling. "We don't have any repos today."
"I actually just wanted to give you these." He said handing her two pieces of paper.
"A gift certificate? For 10 free sessions at Clear Passages?" She asked confused looking back at him.
"I own 20% of the herbal colonic and weed shop." He said proudly and pulled out a baggie. "Oh and this."
He handed her the small bag of weed.
"Try it out and let me know what you think."
"Oh I will." She told him with a smile. "Thank you, Juice."
"You're welcome." He said. "I've got to head to the warehouse."
She just nodded and he left out of the office. She put the weed in the desk drawer when her brother walked in with a silly grin on his face.
"Now it's Juice? A biker love triangle? Is there something I need to know?" He asked crossing his arms with a smile. "I don't think Juice stands a chance against Ope."
"What the hell do you want, jackass?" She asked with a sigh. "I don't have time for your bullshit."
"That time of the month, huh?" He asked. "I guess Ope hasn't knocked you up yet."
She gave him a warning look.
"Ok, sorry." He chuckled the he got serious as he closed the door. "Did you talk to him? Where's Ope's head at?"
"I think I planted the seed last night." She told him. "I told him that it was a good idea to have them on the club's side. After all they helped you and the guys while in Stockton and it certainly helped you and him yesterday with the Russians."
"Good job, little Gemma." He said kissing her cheek. "You're already on your way to being one hell of an old lady."
"Uh huh."
He left out of the office and soon after she heard the bikes and all the guys left to go to their warehouse on Oswald's land.
Piney walked into the office and said he would take over for her and she was relieved. She was walking across the lot to the clubhouse so she could smoke some of the weed that Juice had given her when a Hummer pulled into the lot. She stopped to look and her lawyer got out.
"Jenna." He said extending his hand.
"Mr. Calvin." She said shaking his hand. "What do I owe the pleasure?"
"Do you have some where we could talk?" He asked.
"Sure, follow me."
She walked into the clubhouse where two prospects, V-Lin and Ratboy were.
"Give us some privacy, boys?" She asked them.
"Yes, ma'am." They said hurrying from behind the bar and out of the clubhouse.
"Beer?"
"Scotch?"
"You got it." She said pouring him some from the top shelf. "What do I owe the pleasure of you dropping by?"
"It's about your late husband's estate."
She shook her head as she downed a shot.
"I told you I don't want to know what it is." She told him. "I want you to give whatever it is to his living family."
"You don't understand, Ms. Rollins." He told her pulling out a file from his briefcase.
"Teller…"
"My apologizes, Ms. Teller." He said before continuing. "Your husband's cause of death over 2 years ago was accidental, a propane explosion..."
What about the bullets in his body before the fire?
"He had a $75,000 life insurance policy and according to his bank accounts, he also had $225,000 in the bank."
Jenna's mouth dropped open.
Where in the hell did he get $225,000?
"It seems like you're the sole beneficiary." He said pulling out the papers and showing her the bank account information as well as the check from the insurance company.
"How do I get the $225,000 from the account when he is the only one on that account?"
"That's easy." He said with a smile. "You were also named power of attorney. All you have to do is take the power of attorney paperwork over to the bank and withdraw the money."
Jenna had to grip the bar to keep from falling to the drop because he legs felt like jelly. She now had $300,000 on top of the money she had taken from him over 2 years ago.
"Off the record…I advise you to take the money." He told her. "before his family tries to fight you over it. Seems like his mother isn't too happy about you being the sole benifiary of her son's life insurance."
"It was $75,000! I would be more pissed about the secret $225,000." She said with a light giggle. "I just don't understand how he got his hands on that kind of money."
"What kind of business was he in?"
"He was an accountant at some firm in Seattle. My guess was that he was stealing money from the firm." Jenna said with a shrug as she poured herself a shot of scotch and downed the liquor.
Her attorney nodded and asked for another.
Jenna made a mental note to herself that she would take care of this as soon as she could get away from the club for a few hours.
