"Superman, can you read me?" Batman asked through the small earpiece to the Man of Steel.
"Yeah, what's new? Me and the princess can see two fighter jets nearing the plane. Are they part of the government?" Superman replied.
"No, they're flying too close. Make sure Air Force One lands. Key has his forces everywhere. A convoy is waiting on the landing strip. We got them on the ground." Batman replied.
Superman nodded to himself and turned to Diana as they flew through the air. She was truly a perfect image of the ideal woman. Tall and slightly muscular, with long raven hair that flew behind her, tucked in tightly by the silver crown. Diana had the face of a warrior, someone who had seen tough times and had to overcome obstacles unlike anything Man had seen. Superman smiled at her beauty and confidence before clearing his throat. She turned to him with the attitude of an army cadet.
"Those jets are not the military's. Think you could handle the one on the left?" Superman asked.
Diana nodded and flew ahead of Superman, soaring through the night air and spinning around gracefully in the milky moonlight in the cloudy sky. She approached the jet and hovered above it, seeing the large black skull painted on the left wing with splatters of blood-red across the face. She narrowed her eyes and grabbed onto one of the exhaust ports on the right side of the jet's body before raising her left arm and slamming it into the jet with all her might. The metal screeched and groaned as it was ripped apart by the force of her fist and the pilot inside pulled back, gravity molesting both the jet and Diana as the craft flew upside down and twisted all about as sparks flew and fuel leaked out. Superman widened his eyes as he witnessed the event while close to taking down the right jet and zoomed toward her, grabbing her by her waist and trying to save her. She headbutted him and tossed him off of her, Superman helpless against her super strength as he flew into the backside of Air Force One and putting the presidential plane off balance.
"What the hell was that?" he heard the President, James Hockner ask from inside the plane with his super-hearing.
"I don't know, sir. But those jets aren't here for protection detail. We don't have any jets available." one of the agents inside replied, the click of his pistol's hammer heard as well.
Superman pushed himself off of the plane's dented exterior and looked at Diana from afar, grabbing the jet by its nose and punching out the glass, scaring the pilot to death. The pilot screamed in absolute fear and flipped his twin machine guns on, orange bullets flying through the blue sky as she was constantly hit by gunfire while crushing the nose and cockpit closer together. The pilot's helmet flew off from the intense air pressure building up around him and he pulled out a pistol from his holster as the jet spiraled around at 35,000 feet. He aimed for Diana head and fired every bullet in the magazine. Diana held up her arms and the bullets bounced off of her wrist bracelets, ricocheting back into his chest and face, killing him instantly. She hopped off of the burning craft and grabbed the main body of the jet while flying over to the other and slamming it into the back end. The fuel tanks exploded and Superman watched as the pilot inside was burned alive and the jet blew apart in the air, fiery bits of metal and liquid fire created by the ignited fuel showering the night sky. Superman grabbed Diana by her waist and spun her around in anger, the two of them ducking as Air Force One flew over their heads.
"What the hell are you doing? We needed information from them!" he yelled.
"Don't ever touch me again, alien. Do you understand me? We have bigger matters at hand." Diana replied back, holding her finger in his face before hovering to his right and soaring after the presidential plane.
"What just happened? Was that the president's?" Flash asked as the men on the ground watched the air battle and saw the jet wreckage falling from the sky as Air Force One neared the airport.
"No. The Amazon took out the two jets. She doesn't care about casualties." Batman replied, folding his binoculars back inside his belt.
The men on the ground prepared for Key's reinforcements that were approaching quickly in their speeding Humvees. The Flash looked at Arthur and nodded at him.
"Can you fight, goldfish?" he asked, nudging him in the shoulder.
"Uh-oh. He's not a fan of the name-calling, speedster." Orm scoffed, crossing his arms and watching his brother crack his neck loudly.
Arthur narrowed his eyes and looked back at the Humvees driving quickly along the runway. He ran with superhuman speeds at the convoy and when the left Humvee driver pulled the E-brake and swerved to the left, Arthur slammed into the side of the car and sparks flew high as he grabbed the driver's door and flipped the entire vehicle upside-down. As it slid across the runway with a loud screech, Arthur flicked his eyes at the Flash and he was shocked.
"Gonna help or what?" Arthur yelled, drawing water into his hands from the slick runway and creating a giant ball of water and firing it at the overturned Humvee. The men trying to escape were blown backwards as the water rushed into the Humvee and flipped it around two more times, sending the mercenaries flying. The front passenger pulled out his pistol and fired two rounds at Arthur who was preparing another ball of water.
"Look out!" Green Lantern yelled, trying to stop the bullets from reaching Arthur's head with a simple wall construct but failing.
The bullet that met its target was crunched against his forehead and he brushed off the excess dust. He gave a small smile at the mercenary and shot the ball of water at his feet, knocking him to the ground followed by a kick to the side of the head, knocking him out. Batman and Lantern came in close, engaging in combat with the three other mercenaries while the Flash looked to the skies and saw Air Force One rocking back and forth as it flew lower and lower to the airport. Arthur ran at the second Humvee approaching and before he could throw a punch, he watched a smoke pellet explode against the windshield and cloud the Humvee in a thick blanket of fog. Arthur executed a front-flip over the Humvee and grabbed the back end of it, slamming his feet into the ground and swinging the Humvee around and growling as he let it go, letting the vehicle fly through the air and collide with one of the multiple unmanned control towers. The vehicle hit the stone wall and the support beams caved in, sending the entire tower to the ground in a massive explosion. Orm slowly walked toward the men on the ground and by using hidden knives inside his outfit, stabbed two men through their throats, blood spilling all over the runway.
"Take this, freak!" the driver yelled, aiming a pistol through the broken windshield, blood running down his face as he tried to shoot Orm upside-down.
Orm let him fire the bullet and with amazing reflexes, Orm swung the left blade around and the bullet hit him in the left eye, killing the driver instantly.
"Bring it on." the Atlantean said quietly with malice.
Arthur turned around to the overturned Humvee and grabbed one of the men as he fiddled with something inside the trunk. He kicked the SMG from his hands and heard bones cracked as the mercenary hit the trunk and fell back in pain. He picked him up and held him high above his head as he checked the chrome case that was the size of a car engine. He raised an eyebrow and tossed the mercenary out of his way, the Flash catching him and delivering a quick punch to the back of the head.
When Arthur's hands got close to the case, it made a sharp grinding sound followed by a soft click that resembled gears locking. He picked up the case and became afraid when human-like arms shot out from the top-secret case and began to choke him. Batman threw a batarang into its left arm and recognized the skin texture.
"It's an Amazo!" Batman yelled, grabbing Arthur by his waist, the robotic arm ripping off of the case and staying attached to his neck.
Arthur easily ripped off the rest of the android's appendage and tossed it aside.
"A what?" he asked.
Before Batman or the others could answer, the case transformed into a muscular human-like android that fired a small energy blast at Lantern before taking off to the skies after Air Force One. The force of the jets on its feet crushed the insides of the Humvee and created a whirlwind of heated air behind it. Batman took a deep breath and contacted Superman.
"We've got an Amazo coming straight for the plane. Take it out!"
"How many? Just one?" Superman asked, wind blowing by in the earpiece.
"Yeah." Batman said, continuing to hold his temple as another explosion rocked the destroyed control center and the heroes watched a burning Amazo emerge from the wreckage, wielding a military-style SMG.
Batman groaned in annoyance and shook his head.
"Make that two."
