(A/N: I'ma back!

Here's the 25th chapter. This chapter is where Penelope's sophomore year ends. It will also be long.

I own nothing. Not TWEWY, not Final Fantasy, not Kingdom Hearts.

Before we start, there will be quite a few timeskips in this chapter. These events aren't really important, but Penelope mentions some things that happened during that time.

Chapter 24: Year's End

Riku rolled his eyes.

"That's ridiculous. Will you quit lying to me, please?"

Penelope stared at Riku before she couldn't take it, and she smacked him across the face.

"You asshole! I WASN'T lying. Quit jumping to conclusions, dammit. I can't believe I actually fell in love with you again."

Riku frowned, taken aback by what Penelope just said. "Wait, you fell in love with me again?"

"I thought I did. I can't wait for the year to end."

"Why?"

"So I don't have to be stuck around the Island with you." Penelope snarled, her brown eyes glowing like fire.

"I'm tired of your attitude around me."

"And I'm tired of looking at your face."

Riku glared at Penelope and crossed his arms. "You need to start showing me some respect."

"Like I have any for you now. I lost it when you started acting like a jackass around me, so here's your payment in return."

Riku nearly slapped her, but decided to hold back. "Do you have a problem with me or something?"

"What, was I not obvious enough or are you too stupid to notice?"

The older boy was starting get annoyed at this. "What did you just call me?" He asked, sounding angry and threatening.

Penelope giggled. "I said you were too stupid to notice, idiot."

Riku raised his hand, ready to smack Penelope.

"There's a rule about hitting girls." Penelope told Riku, while smirking.

Riku went blank for a few seconds before he got really freaking mad. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN?! YOU'VE NEVER SAID THIS TILL NOW!"

"You were going to hit me and I saw you preparing. I knew I had to prevent what was going to happen, so I told you that you can't hit me. I'm untouchable and you're not."

Riku put his hand down. "You are being a little brat."

"Are you mad I'm not letting you have your way, Rich Boy?"

Riku narrows his eyes. "Did you just refer to me by something indicating my family's wealth?"

"I did. Why?"

*SMACK*

Penelope rubbed her cheek as Riku was breathing in and out. "I can't believe you! Don't ever call me that again."

"How do you think I feel? Ever since you broke up with me, you've been jumping from girl to girl to mock me!"

Riku takes offense to that. "I have not! Jo Dee persuaded me to go out with her and I began going with out with Lanie because I was worried you would never wake up."

"Well I would rather die in my sleep!"

"Why?"

"So I don't have to ever speak to you again." Penelope stormed off, her long brown hair drifting in the wind. Riku frowned at Penelope as she walked off.

Riku sighed. "It's like she has two personalities."

"OH FUCK OFF RIKU." Penelope hissed.

Riku stared at Penelope as she left.

(Timeskip from that day)

(Near the end of April and the start of May)

(Penelope's POV)

Riku and my relationship hasn't been as best as it could be, but I don't mind. He was my second love, but my first…I don't know if he likes me*.This love isn't the boy who broke my heart by dating Melanie.

Like me, he also lives in Hollow Bastion, and could maybe be my true prince charming.

Then Jo Dee and my relationship. I have to say its better, but we have a truce. I don't know if I am hated by Lanie or not (Riku and I tend to fight when we cross each other), but she gets mad when I am "cruel" to him and tells me I need to get over him before it becomes and unhealthy hatred or obsession over not getting over him.

Sadly, she has no idea that I don't love him anymore.

My heart belongs to another.

My relationship with my old friends?

Roselyynn, Yami, Saki and I are improving our broken relationship. Circi and Hikari are my friends again.

Neku and Roxas as well as Sora, Kairi, Naminé and Shiki don't mind hanging out with me. Same with Axel. Zexion and I are also friends (I found we have some things in common.).

My big performance? My practice has been going well. I decided I'll play "Dearly Beloved" on the Piano. I mean, it's a good opening, and it can be played on the piano. Ms. Ariel and Melody have been helping me figure out the keys.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that Melody and I are also friends? I'm finding I have a lot of things in common with others. I also found out from Roselyynn that she has a crush on Axel (she told me to not ask). Maybe opposites attract or Roselyynn's trying to overcome her pyrophobia (Roselyynn is afraid of fire).

Yami is also afraid of Larxene. Larxene keeps messing around with her by using Thunder based spells, and it scares Yami because she has astraphobia. Usually, Saki smacks her and tells her that Yami doesn't like that.

I'm also beginning to find Riku to be absolutely unpredictable. He usually acts like a complete jerk (that is the nice term for It.) or he acts flirty around me (he has a fucking girlfriend does he not?) which usually results in me smacking or punching him, and I get scolded by him.

Ah, high school. You and your evil ways with drama. KNOCK IT OFF WITH ME ALREADY DAMMIT.

Zia and Narrator are like usual. Zia has began to give me advice on using some of my abilities despite Narrator begins to interfere.

Then school in general…I've been doing really well lately. I also did well on my big assessments a while ago, which I'm happy about. I also got word from my friends back home that they'll be attending with me next year! (Mortimer's family can afford it, Crystal was paid in by Lanie's family, Leo got a scholarship and Lime got in…but I have no clue how.

So that means I'll be able to be with my friends next year and I'm glad.

Despite the school year hasn't been as best as I hoped it be, I'm happy I was able to start attending this year.

And I should probably get to practicing. My performance is in two weeks.

(Two weeks later)

(The day of the performance)

(Auditorium)

I gulp. I hate to admit it, but I am really freaking nervous. Mom and Grandma were able to come (they were given free tickets by the school to come and watch). That's not the problem.

Lots of people will be watching me. I really, REALLY do NOT want to screw this performance up. My friends told me good luck, but I'm still scared. I wait backstage as Ms. Ariel speaks. Then I hear Melody present.

"Good luck. Don't ruin the performance." Neku says, trying to be supportive.

"I'll try."

Upon my name being said and I hear the audience applause. I walk out and go to the piano and adjust my music sheet. Taking a deep breath, I begin to play the song.

It feels vaguely familiar, but I don't care. In fact, I'm so focused on not messing up (I haven't luckily, thank god.), that I haven't been paying any attention to the audience at all.

A few minutes later, I finish and end the song, and I get up and walk away from the piano a bit before I bow.

The sound of applause strikes my ears and I can hear my Grandma Lily shout, "THAT'S MY GIRL!"

I curtsey before heading back stage, and I'm congratulated and complimented by my peers.

"Good job, Penelope." I stare at Riku before muttering, "Thanks." (I don't care if he compliments me, I've gotten over him and I am not in love with him, so his opinion does really count to me at all.).

(A few hours later)

The rest of the performance goes by and it's done and over with. I speak to my Grandma and my Mom before they leave.

"You did great sweet heart. How are you doing with your boyfriend?" Mom asked.

I go silent. "We broke up."

"Oh…sorry I asked."

"But you know our little Penelope will stay strong. Remember? She's too tough for boys."

"But he might've found my weak spot. But I don't care. I've gotten over him."

"Penelope? Who are they?" Joshua asked as he walked over.

Mom and Grandma look at Joshua and then look at me.

"Well who's this charming young lad, Penelope?" Grandma Lily asks.

"He's my friend." I answer.

"Really?"

If they think I have a romantic relationship with him they're absolutely insane in all measures possible.

"Yes mom. He is."

"Will you introduce us?" Grandma asks.

Joshua looks at me. "C'mon Penelope. It's rude for you to not introduce me yet~"

I sigh. "Mom, Grandma, this is my friend Joshua. Joshua, this is my mother Elaine and my grandmother, Lily."

"Nice to meet you." Mom says politely.

"You're lucky to have a cute friend like him."

"He can be a devious little brat for the love of…"

"You weren't thinking badly about me, were you?" Joshua suddenly asks me.

"Joshua. Please do NOT use those powers on me."

"Why not?"

I sigh. "It bothers me because then I'm worried I can't think because you'll just read my mind."

"Penelope!"

I see Van and Xion.

"Who are they?" Mom asks.

"Great. More introductions…"

(Later)

After mom and grandma left for the Airport, Joshua, Van and I are hanging out together.

"You seem to be daydreaming a lot." Joshua indicates to me.

"So you've noticed. I can't help it."

"You don't usually seem much like much of a dreamer." Joshua reminds me.

"But you yourself said that every human being is a dreamer*." I tell Joshua.

Vanitas stares at me, confused with what I just said. "Just when the hell did he say that?"

"I'm not telling~"

I hear Vanitas growl, "Seriously. Tell me now."

"Why should I, Van-Van?"

"DON'T CALL ME THAT." Vanitas hisses, his voice sounding mad.

Joshua and Xion giggle.

"Why the hell are you two laughing?"

"Your face is red, Vanitas. Maybe you secretly enjoy being called that?" Joshua says before smirking at Vanitas.

"Don't make me use my Unversed on you."

"But I'll just kill them with my Jesus Beam*."

"But the negativity will flow back into me*." Vanitas indicates.

"Then I will hit you with my Jesus Beam."

"You want me to break your phone to keep you from doing so?"

"I can naturally do it without my phone."

Joshua, Xion and I giggle ate Vanitas facial expression from that.

"SHUT THE HELL UP!"

I smile. "I was wondering…What will you guys do over the summer?"

"I'm going home to Twilight Town. I don't want to face my parents, but I'm fine with it. All I need is to hang out with Axel and Roxas." Xion answers.

"What about you, Van?"

"I'm also going to Twilight Town, but it's to visit Roxas. I don't get why I have to hang out with my cousin who is my most hated cousin's twin brother."

"So? Will you be able to tell the difference between them anyway Van?"

"I can. Ventus is the more annoying one."

"You and your logic. What will you do, Joshua?" I ask.

I look at Joshua, who is silent. "Joshua…?"

"I can hear you."

"Still, what will you do?"

"Well I don't exactly want to return home, but I will if I go to Hollow Bastion."

"Why will you go to my hometown?"

"Simply because I can."

"Then we could hang out!"

"I guess. I won't have to stay home."

Xion frowns. "You're acting like you don't want to go back to your hometown."

"I don't. It feels so boring when I'm there, and I hate it."

"Despite we live in two different home environments, I can kind of understand. I don't like returning home either. My parents hate me." Xion indicates.

"You don't understand."

"Hm?"

"I hate how much my parents expect of me. And they want me to follow in their footsteps, and because of it, I have this boring schedule I have to follow when I'm there. I'd rather be here than there."

I frown. "It's almost like your parents are in charge of some large corporations or something."

"That's because they are."

We all go silent. "Is that how you met Riku?"

Joshua nods. "My father and Riku's father are business partners, so it's only natural we met."

"But you're lucky for that, despite you hate it."

Joshua stares at me.

"Unlike you, I've gone through some horrible things through my life. I was always made fun of for being smart, quiet and really shy. I got bullied all the time and I felt like no one even cared about me except for my only two friends, one of which went to another school and my mom and grandma." I begin. "In 6th grade, it was worse because I was beginning to mature into a young lady, and the other girls despised me for my beauty, so they'd pick on me. Then one of my only friends turned on me and began to pick on me too."

Joshua, Vanitas and Xion are silent.

"That's how I met Roselyynn, Yami and Saki. When my old friend and her other friends, including Melanie, were picking on me, they stood up for me and drove them off. Before that incident, we were friends ever since. But on the inside, I feel scared and like I have no point, because people still treat me poorly, like I'd be better off to die than live."

"I can understand. I know the feeling." Xion indicates.

"You can…?"

"When I went to my old school, I was always bullied. I was really quiet and shy and didn't talk much. I didn't do well in groups because people were always so terrible to me. Roxas was the one who finally stood up for me. Then we began hanging out and I eventually met his friend Axel, and that's how we became a trio."

I smile softly. "I can't wait for school to end. Next year, I found out that some of my friends back home are joining this school, as well as my friend Crystal, who is Lanie's cousin."

"Lanie has a cousin who's your friend?" Van asks.

"Yeah. Why?"

"Interesting…" Joshua comments.

"Anyway, I think we should all return to our individual dorms. It's getting late."

"Alright. Night."

We all separate (Xion and I go back to our dorm) for the night.

(Timeskip)

(May 31st- Last Day of School. I made it May 31st because I just thought that would be suitable.)

It's the last day. Today is the day everyone leaves. The week before was the last goodbyes we'd make before the year coming next. As I go to the jet, all of my things packed up, I hear, "Penelope."

I notice Joshua, Vanitas and Xion. "Can we sit with you on the Jet?"

"Don't we get assigned…?"

"We did get assigned together."

"Oh. Then come on."

We get on the plane and onto our seats. On the row across, I see Roselyynn, Yami, Saki and Echinacea.

Roselyynn, Yami and Saki wave hi to me and I do the same.

(A few hours later)

(Hollow Bastion)

When my stop finally arrives, and the plane stops, and we wait a bit, I hear Joshua say, "Penelope."

I look at Joshua. "Yeah?"

"I think I'll be here by next week. Keep that in mind."

"Kay. I'll see you soon."

"Bye."

I get off the plane upon the Attendant (Its Caitlyn again) says, "We have arrived in Hollow Bastion. If this is your stop, you may get off now."

I get off along with Roselyynn, Yami, Saki, Circi and Hikari.

When I get my luggage and get to the entrance, I hear a familiar voice.

"Hey Penelope. It's been a while, huh?" I recognize that voice from anywhere.

"Caspian? Is that you?"

The boy, my friend Caspian, smiles.

"Sorry if I couldn't see you over Winter Break. My family was on vacation." I hug him.

"It doesn't matter. It's been too long."

"I know. I was worried you forgot about me."

I giggle at this. "I wouldn't forget you. Why are you doing here anyway?"

"Your mom and grandmother asked me to get you from the Airport. They weren't able to, so they thought it be best if I did it. Besides, we need to catch up."

"Agreed."

Caspian and I begin to head back to my house, talking about what has been going on lately, relationships and all that kinds of stuff.

We eventually get back to my house and I knock on the door. No answer. I guess I have to use my key.

Upon opening it up, Caspian follows me in my house and I hear a "SURPRISE!".

I gasp. So it turns out Mom and Grandma were planning a welcome home party for me and they had Caspian get me from the airport to surprise me.

I guess this'll be a nice summer vacation so far.

(A week later)

"Penelope! Wake up." Mom shouts from the Kitchen. I haven't adjusted to her waking me up yet. I was also planning to sleep in today, but ah well.

That welcome home party I had was great. Mortimer, Crystal, Leo, Lime and Ruby were there as well as Caspian.

Later, Riku called me for some reason, and I did ignore the call at first, but he wouldn't quit it, so I finally answered, hoping to not have to deal with him over the summer because I'm worried he'll flirt with me and I already like Caspian.

I also ran into Cinnamon the other day. We haven't exactly talked since 6th grade. She is athletic as usual and of course is better at sports than me, and I don't know if she's being honest or not, but she's flowed away from Melanie and her friends because Melanie hasn't been there to lead her group and pick on me.

I haven't mentioned being friends with Caspian for a long time because we haven't talked to each other much for the past year, and I was worried he had forgotten about me, so I said it was only me and Cinnamon.

I also feel this attraction to Caspian (As I said before, he was my first love, not Riku). I've had a crush on him for a while now, but I never admitted to him I like him. I mean…I would've asked him on a date a long time ago, but I never brought myself to…

My phone goes off, interrupting my thoughts, summary, whatever.

"Hello?" I ask into the phone, ignoring the caller ID.

"Where are you?!" I hear Joshua's voice from the other end.

"Oh! Hi Joshua. Why are you calling?"

"You know. Don't act stupid with me."

"Who said I was acting stupid?!"

"Don't tell me you forgot."

"Joshua, I forgot what?!"

"Remember? I told you I was coming here to Hollow Bastion!"

"Oh…so why are you so mad?"

"Will you please come get me from the airport?"

"Fine. Just stop yelling at me. I'll see you in a bit."

The call ends. I swear to…Joshua. Why do you have to be such a royal pain?

I exit out into the kitchen, my hair still left unbrushed and I was still in my pajamas.

"Hey Mom, I have to go get my friend from the airport."

"Which one?"

"Joshua."

"Well you aren't going looking like that! Go brush your hair and get dressed."

I sigh.

(A bit later)

I come back out of my room, with my hair brushed and I am properly dressed.

"Can I go now?"

"Did you brush your teeth?"

"Dammit."

"Penelope Petunia Bunny. You watch your language or I will ground you." I sigh before going and brushing my teeth.

After I come back out, I ask, "Can I go NOW, Mom?"

My mom sighs. "Yes you may."

I mumble, "Finally." before I leave.

(A while later)

(Hollow Bastion Airport)

Upon arriving to the Airport, I get greeted by a blast of light.

"Where were you? You kept me waiting." Joshua says impatiently.

"My mom was nagging me. I answer."

"Hey Penelope! Who's that guy behind you?"

I notice…Riku.

"Behind me? What are you talking about?"

Caspian appears. "You left as soon as I was getting to your house!"

"Oh! Sorry." I apologize.

"Who are they?" Caspian asks, pointing at Riku and Joshua.

"The ash-blonde haired boy who just struck me with light is Joshua and the silver-haired boy is…my ex-boyfriend. In fact…I was just about to ask him WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE, RIKU?!"

Riku frowns. "Sorry. It's not like I could do anything at home, so I came here."

"I don't want you here. Besides, don't you have a girlfriend?"

"Lanie is on a vacation with her family and I didn't want to bother her."

"So you thought you could come here? Just to let you know, YOU'RE NOT MY TYPE. And I don't like you. My heart belongs to someone else." I growl at him.

Riku raises and eyebrow before looking at Caspian. "And who is that?"

"My friend Caspian." I answer, trying to not show I have a crush on him.

Riku glares at Caspian.

(Nobody's POV)

As Penelope, Riku, Joshua and Caspian began leaving the airport; Penelope could feel some tension in the air. She then looked at Riku.

"What's wrong?"

Riku didn't answer. He looked mad about something though. "Hey Riku."

"What."

"What's it like living on Destiny Islands?"

"And why should I tell you that?'

"Just so I know its climate for school next year."

Riku groans. "You're attending school there next year? Perfect!" Penelope asked, sounding excited.

"Why are you excited about that?" Riku asked.

"Because I like…err…he's my friend and we could improve our relationship! That's why."

Riku could tell Penelope was hiding something, but he said nothing.

(A/N: This was a kind of long chapter, but I don't mind. But first…

*Originally, Caspian was going to appear in the sequel (I plan a sequel for this), but I decided he'd appear in this instead. This is why I did not mention him yet.

*In KH3D, Joshua said something along the lines of every human-being is a dreamer, so Penelope somehow quoted something he said or something.

*In TWEWY, Joshua can use his Jesus Beam (I think that is what its called) by floating up in the air by hitting the up on the control pad or x and you hit the left or right buttons on the control pad or A and Y to make columns of light hit from above.

*In KH: BbS, Vanitas explained to Ventus that the Unversed are what he feels and no matter how many times they are defeated, the negativity flows back into him.

I made Caspian appear in this chapter mainly because of what will happen in the next. I decided that considering Jo Dee and Penelope's rivalry is currently on hold because of Lanie, Penelope would eventually have fully gotten over Riku by then, and that Penelope would fall in love with someone else, which was Caspian. I also wanted a rivalry between Riku and Caspian, but it may be extremely challenging for Riku to get Penelope's affection back because she now hates him.

Wow…that was longer than normal.
