"Shall we go then" Sakura said as she led her friends father into the ballroom where the event would soon happen. She closed the door behind her
"The other guests have yet to arrive I do believe that they should be arriving within 15 minutes as it is the time that the invite had, I will have to go meet my parents and my elder brother at the front to greet the guests you can all just leisure around as long as you don't break anything" she said as she turned around and walked to meet the guests upfront
Sasuke stole one glance at the necklace clasped around her neck and smirked and looked at Naruto as if to say 'told you so' and Naruto rolled his eyes
"Well everyone is here" Ino started "you better pair up then whilst I have something to deal with"
"What something would that be Ino" Tenten asked curiously
"One that has nothing to do with you" Ino answered mysteriously and walked off her phone in her hands texting someone
As Ino walked away the group decided to pay no heed to her strange behaviour and ignored her. Naruto glommped Hinata within a tight embrace "hinata you look amazing"
"You think so" Hinata muttered embarrassed
"I know for sure and i bet you anything that my date for the night is the most beautiful of all" Naruto said cheekily
"Oh stop that Naruto your embarrassing me" Hinata said feeling her cheeks grow red
"Yeah naruto you better stop that before I do something to you" Neji threatened gravely
"You do realise he was very reluctant in actually letting you accompany Hinata here. If you go about flaunting that his face he isn't going to be very forgiving" tenten smiled
"Yeah yeah can't you like kiss him to distract him I would like to spend time with Hinata without being scared of having the he-she always observing me" Naruto exclaimed not making an effort of being discreet or quiet about what he was saying causing Neji to almost strangle him if Tenten didn't restrain him
"Saying such things won't help you either" Tenten said
"Hehehe the bastard couldnt beat me even if he tried" he grabbed Hinata's hand and sprinted away dragging Hinata with him
"COME BACK HERE NARUTO" Neji screamed after him with Tenten trying to calm him down whiilst Shikamaru sighed
"Whats with youu and the sighning all the time" Temari asked annoyed by his lack of response. He simply looked back at her and yawned giving no response
"Did you hear me?" Temari asked annoyed
"Troblesome women" Shikamaru muttered
"What did you call me" she gritted through her teeth
"Troublesome" Shikamaru replied enjoying getting the response she gave him and attention she gave him
"What is that suppose to mean?"
"That your troublesome" Sasuke who stood as a bystander to their argument got bored and decided to wander around the main hall where people started walking in. Guests started arriving and soon the hall was full with people. Sasuke didnt enjoy the prospect of being surrounded by unknown people but he wanted to find the emerald eyed girl that had escaped earlier on. He caught a glimpse of her pink hair but before he could follow after he felt someone latch onto his arm and found himself in the clutches of the person he hoped he could avoid this night
Sakura, once she had welcomed the majority of the guests, walked into her ball room full with people. She didnt enjoy the thought of strangers invading her personal space it was a very disturbing idea to her. she looked for her friends and found Ino beside a handsome young gentleman that she remembered seeing at her blonde friends party.
Just as she was about to turn around she felt Naruto zoom past her and hide behind her.
"What are you doing?" she hissed
"Neji wants to kill me" Naruto replied
"Would you stop that Naruto, you bound to attract attention and trust me thats the last thing you need right now"
"because of Neji" Naruto asked
"No idiot because if you make this ball look like a kindergarden playground I will personally kill you. I've had enough of a lecture from my father into making sure everything goes well" Sakura huffed
"Your dad seems harsh"
"He's a very serious business man and this ball is basically a protest for people to make business deals so its important, outside of business he's a relaxed man thats laughes at his own jokes even if they arent funny" Sakura smiled "his jokes make no sense at all"
"That sounds like my dad minus the jokes part, dad is a more calm and collected type of relaxed a little playful too"
"And your his child" Sakura said raising an eyebrow at him
"I know right, I get it from my mom" Naruto said smiling broadly
"Where is Hinata" Sakura asked
"She went to the bathroom... look here she comes" Naruto said as the Hyuga Girl approached
"Hi Sakura, has everyone arrived if your here" Hinata asked
"My mother excused me from greeting the rest of the guests" Sakura explained "Its exhausting saying hello to so many people that I cant even remember the name of"
"Please tell me you didnt meet my hell bent cousin" Naruto asked annoyed
"Who would that be?" Sakura asked curious, it wasnt very often you saw Naruto insulting someone except Sasuke
"My cousin Karin, red head hair a very weird hairstyle- accoring to her its latest fashion in Paris thats where shes been the last month instead of at school- and black framed glasses, amber red-eyes. I swear she is evil"
"I didn't come across anyone like that. Did you say her name was Karin" Sakura asked
"Yeah"
"Obsessed with Sasuke, leader of the airheads at her school" Sakura continued
"Yeah so you did meet her" Naruto said confused
"No, I heard about her at school through her lackys" she clarified
"She is really annoying" Naruto replied "nice necklace"
"Oh thanks" Sakura said 'since when does he notice jewlerry, he knows something'
"Well I'll leave you two and go find Temari, see you around" Sakura said and as she searched Temari through the crowds but instead of Temari she found Sasuke with a girl beside him that fit Naruto's exact description and she left an unrecogonisible burning sensation in the pit of her stomach as she saw the girl pratically hanging of Sasukes arm whilst he did nothing to push her away. she stomped aay in search of Temari and eventually found her
"Woah whats up with you" Temari asked as she saw Sakuras bitter expression
"Nothing I was just looking for you"
"Did you need me for something" The sandy blonde asked
"Yes I... wait a second let me thnk" Sakura said as she tried to remember what was the reason she came to Temari before Sasuke invaded her thoughts "ight it was about the necklace"
"Don't tell me you had second thoughts about wearing and now want to take it off" Temari huffed
"No, Naruto commented on the necklace he said it was nice"
"So..."
"Naruto dosent randomly comment on how pretty necklace is especially with the topic of the conversation we were having" Sakura replied becoming increasily angry at the thought of Karin
"What were you talking about?" Temari asked
"About his slutty, materialistic, air headed, idotic, desperet, atention seeking, bitchy cousin, a red choppy haired four eyed arm hugging monster. Karin Uzumaki. " Sakura seethed out
"Jeeze whats with all the hatered"
"Hatred! What hatred? There is no hatred Temari, you are seeing things" Sakura replied agitatedly
"Just like I'm seeing a red choppy haired four eyed arm hugging monster latched on to Uchiha's arm like its her lifeline" Temari said as she found the reason of Sakura's anger
"Oh really, I hadnt noticed" Sakura replied pretending to not care
"Your a great actress Sakura but you cant fool me, the reality here is that the fact that this girl hogging Sasuke to herself and it is affecting you" Temari smiled "you like him"
"I do not like him and it doesnt affect me if he's surrounded one girl or loads of them. In fact I couldn't care less" Sakura replied
"Good thing it doesnt affect you then, So it wouldn't matter to you that he is kissing this Karin girl" Temari said mischievously
"No- wait what did you say" Sakura turned around to look at Sasuke where there was no kiss happening just the girl hanging on his arm whilst Sasuke was completely unresponsive
"You tricked me" Sakura accused
"Guilty as charged. But you turned around and that shows you do care and it does affect you what he does" Temari pointed out
"I came to talk to you about the necklace but you completely changed the topic around"
"I changed it because you were so intent on insulting Karin, you had a reason and I had to figure out the cause of the anger. Although the name Karin Uzumaki isnt unfamiliar" temari pondered
"I know right" Sakura said thinking hard about the name
"Didn't she go to your elementary school" Temari remembered
"That's where I remember that name from. The girl who always tried to one up me" She smiled at the revelation
"Always unsuccessfully though" Sakura smirked in response as Temari smiled at her cousin
"I'll gladly show that girl her place like I've always done" Sakura said deviously
"Calm down you little devil" but Sakura paid no heed to it and walked away plans envading her mind
"I guess she didn't want to talk about the necklace but instead insult Karin to someone"
"Not many people are like that are they"
"When did you get here"
"I was always here" Shikamaru replied
"Eaves dropping were you"
"It cant be considered eavesdropping if your the ones talking too loudly"
"Excuse me"
"Your'e excused" Shikamaru said as he walked away
"Come back here" Temari shouted storming off after him
"Did you miss me" Karin asked trying to catch his attention as much as she could
"Get off" Sasuke harshly replied
"Not until you tell me you missed me" Karin whined
"Well I didn't"
"Oh stop trying to play hard to get sweetheart"
"Don't call me that" Sasuke replied
"Aren't we having fun in this corner of the party" Naruto announced as he walked by holding Hinata's hand
"Shut up" Sasuke gritted
"Yeah we are having the time of our lives aren't we baby" Karin said not aware of Sasuke's irritation
"I bet you are, Baby" Naruto mocked "I wonder how delighted Sakura should be with this" Naruto said making Sasuke more aware of what he was saying
"Sakura, Sakura who?" Karin asked inquisitively as a flash of recognition passed by her eyes
"Sakura Haruno, why she just loves romance so when a lovey-dovey couple sprouts out of nowhere she will notice" Naruto said with an undelying message o Sasuke that Karin couldn't detect
"Never heard of Sakura much less of a Haruno. I bet the girl is a nobody pretending to be somebody" Karin replied trying to ignore any memory involved with the pink head
"Funny you say that cause the ball that you currently in is hosted by her family" Naruto told her smugly happy to see her cousin baffled expression
"This is the Haruno household" She asked surprised
"And I thought you hadn't ever heard of the Haruno's. By your expression you know of them, and you know them pretty well" Naruto declared suspicious about Karin attitude
"I most of forgotten about it in the moment, do you know where the bathroom is" Karin asked letting go of Sasuke and looking around
"I have no idea"
"I'll go look for one" She replied dismissively as she hurried away
"I don't know what you did but I'm glad you got rid of her" Sasuke said brushing off his blazer on where she had clinged tightly onto creating wrinkles
"I don't know either but she acted weirdly don't you think so" Naruto said narrowing his eyes in suspicion
"Since when is Karin not weird, she lives in her own little world where she actually believes I like her" Sasuke replied ignorantly
"I think Naruto is right" Hinata spoke up "I may not personally know Karin but even I can tell that her rapid change in attitude is anything but normal"
"I think she's up to something" Naruto verbalized his thoughts
"And I think that your right, you should trust your intuition" Hinata supported him
"I don't know whats happening right know and I don't really care. Right this moment I need to talk to Sakura" he said as he walked off
"He likes her doesn't he" Hinata whispered
"Its clear as water, he even brought her that necklace that shes wearing" Naruto revealed in confidentiality
"The one with the emeralds. but Sakura said she found it on her bed and had no idea who left it there" Hinata replied baffled
"Yeah, he smuggled into the mansion and left it on her bed. He didn't want to directly approach her and give it to her, he doesn't do those kinds of things so he opted through giving it anonymously"
"Who knew Sasuke could be so sweet" Hinata smiled
"I know right, but remember, I'm sweeter and way more romantic" Naruto stated
"I already know that" Hinata replied flustered
"And how would you know that" He asked cheekily enjoying the way he was the one who evoked the redness in her cheeks
"I just do, I suppose its women sixth sense" she replied quietly
"Then I'll have to prove that theory correct then wont I" Naruto said leaning in towards her
"Yes you will" Hinata boldly replied. Naruto slowly leaned down to her height and he slowly pressed his lips down onto hers, delicately placing his hands around her waist while she tentatively placed her hands on his shoulders. when they broke away he whispered lowly between them "You're so amazing and I hope you realize that"
"You're pretty amazing too"
"Would you give me the honor of being your boyfriend?" He asked
"If you allow me to be your girlfriend" she replied whilst chastely pulling a kiss onto his lips. He smiled and picked her up swinging her around and placed back onto the floor pulling her into another lip lock
"Naruto, the people around us" Hinata said flustered
"No one is looking" Naruto said holding her tightly towards him
"No but I was" Neji said as he popped up behind Naruto
"N-N-Neji how are you" Naruto replied nervously
"Get your hands off her now" with that one sentence Neji pulled Naruto away from his cousin and stood in between them creating distance
"Really Neji" Tenten said exasperatedly
"I have to do what I have to do" He replied in all seriousness
"All I ask is that no one causes a scene" Tenten said as she hooked her arm with Neji's and stood beside him as he refused to sway from his position in between Naruto and Hinata
"Aww Neji get away, let them be together alone" Sakura moaned as she watched slightly entertained by the sight infront of her
"so you're rooting for them huh" Sasuke said as he appeared from behind her
"How could I not" she replied not even looking at him
"I guess that's true" Sasuke
"Besides it's amusing see Naruto make a fool of himself whilst he was trying to ask Hinata on dates"
"But now that they are dating isn't the amusement over"
"Are you kidding, it just increased a ten-fold. Lets see how Naruto will fare by dating Hinata with Neji in the picture always making things awkward and breaking it up" She replied with a glint of mischief
"Everything amuses you doesn't it" Sasuke stated
"Depends, talking about amusement where is yours?" Sakura asked swirling around to look at him
"Anything including Naruto amuses me"
"Oh really, Uzumaki's amuse you" Sakura replied slyly
"I feel like the topic isn't about Naruto anymore" he replied aware of her demeanor
"It never was"
"Is this about Karin"
"Why? what ever gave you that impression" she replied sarcastically
"Are you jealous?"
"Me? Jealous? What could I possibly be jealous of?" Sakura replied shocked
"I don't know, I just don't think that all this commotion about someone you don't know common" Sasuke replied
"For your information I do know her, and I've known her since elementary all the way to middle school and it's because I know of what a bitch she is that I dislike her greatly. Oh and its because I know that you know her and about her bitchy attitude and yet you still let her cling onto you, that disgust me don't ever mistake it for jealousy ever again"
"I didn't want her to cling on to me"
"Well it didn't look like you were making any great effort to get rid of her" Sakura shot back
"The girl is a leech and she wouldn't let go" Sasuke explained
"Yet here you are without the leech, by the way were is she" Sakura said looking around
"Bathroom"
"Oh so you chose that opportunity to escape her instead of actually telling her to beat it"
"Look, I don't like her and I never would"
"Oh I don't doubt that because a) how could someone be interested in her and b) are you even capable of liking anyone" She hotly replied getting increasingly angry
"Yes I am capable of liking a person I know this because I like you" He told her as he grabbed her arm pulling her closer to him. Just then music starting playing and Sakura's mother appeared encouraging people to dance including them
"Oh why don't you youngsters show these oldies that your generation is just as traditional as the rest of them and know these dances"
"Mom I don't think I-"
"It would be a pleasure Mrs Haruno" Sasuke interrupted Sakura pulling her close to him and starting moving in time with the music
"I'm being serious when I'm telling you that I like you a lot and... can you say something?" Sasuke started
"What do you want me to say? that I'm eternally in love with you" Sakura said finding it hard to find her voice
"I want you to be honest"
"You want honesty fine... I don't know" she burst
"You don't know. What don't you know?" Sasuke repeated confused
"I don't know if I like you the way you say you like me hell I don't know if I can trust what your telling me how do I know your not making this up" she babbled away
"You don't, you'll just have to trust me on this one"
"Easier said than done"
"I know, I'll prove it to you anyway that I can" Sasuke said looking at her in the eyes intensely "If you let me, I'll prove to you"
"Then go ahead and prove it however you want to" Sakura allowed. He leaned into her and softly kissed her
"I will" and just like that he walked away and out of the mansion leaving Sakura to her thoughts as she went over to Temari who was seemed to be arguing with Shikamaru who looked eternally bored but the glint in his eyes showed how he actually enjoyed her reaction
"Temari it's getting quite late isn't it"
"Huh? oh yeah people should be nearly leaving at this time" she replied
"Do you think you could tell my mom that I'm going to my room and tell her i apologize, I feel really tiered" Sakura said faintly
"Sure, do you need anything"
"Nothing that getting out of his dress and tucking in early wont resolve" Sakura made her way through the ball room whilst bidding adieu to her friends all the time two pair of crimson eyes never left her figure
"You took everything away from my middle school years, now I'll take everything away from you, I'm not letting you have him. He's mine"
So Naruto and Hinata are dating, Sasuke will do what he can to get Sakura by his side and Karin plans to stop their approximation
