Hello everyone. Things are starting to pick up. Reviews will get me updating more often :P so leave your opinion. Lee xox

Victoria rubbed her temples, her glasses were abandoned on top of a pile of papers and her eyes were squeezed shut.

"You should take a break."

She blinked looking up at Greg who was sat across from her reading missing person files.

"It's just a headache. It will go away. The work won't" Greg nodded understanding her dilemma.

"No-one would think any less of you for taking a break tori."

She frowned and stood up gingerly stretching her legs.

"I need water anyway. Want anything?"

"No I'm good thanks."

Victoria walked into the staffroom. The water cooler was almost empty but she managed to fill a glass with cool water. She pressed the glass to her forehead and sighed. It was going to be a long night for everyone. They were all working on leads that often led nowhere. The pressure was getting to them all as the clock moved closer to another kidnapping. They all knew it was only a matter of time. They just hoped they could get the persons responsible before another person went missing, or worse, ended up dead. Victoria drank the water slowly closing her eyes and daydreamt of her bed. Sadly she didn't expect to get there any time soon.

It was early in the morning when Victoria unlocked her front door. She walked in, throwing her keys on the table and turned to lock the deadbolt. She paused; door open. Was someone outside? She was sure she heard something. Shaking her head she decided the case was getting to her. She closed and locked the door. Slowly walking up the stairs she tiredly made her way to her bedroom. She opened the door and froze as a dark figure sat on her bed.

"You are much later than I expected." Sherlock turned on the bedside lamp.

"What are you doing in my room Sherlock?" She walked in and grabbed her pyjamas from her draws.

"I came to cook you dinner, well, to heat up some food from Mrs Hudson. I thought I'd wait for you in here so I didn't miss you."

She frowned at him. "Have you been sleeping?"

He looked at her with bed hair and raised an eyebrow.

"At least one of us has been."

She shook her head as she turned to her dresser and pulled her top over her head.

"Sherlock, you of all people should understand how much goes into a case like this." She pulled her sleep top on. He watched as her smooth skin disappeared beneath the cloth.

"Yes. That is exactly my concern."

She turned to him with her hands on her button, pants half undone.

"I'm not overdoing it Sherlock."

"Your headache suggests otherwise." He stood up taking a glass of water and some painkillers over to her. "You need to renew your glasses prescription."

She narrowed her eyes at him and took the pills and water.

"You know it's not endearing when you do that."

"I know."

"It's rather annoying."

"So I've been told."

She drank the pills and water. "No one likes a know it all Sherlock."

He stepped closer to her so that she could almost feel the heat off his body.

"You like me."

She's looked up at him and her face softened.

"Lucky you don't know it all then." She turned putting her glass on the dresser and got into her pyjama pants. Sherlock watched her face in the mirror and she smiled at him. "You want to tell me what the other night was about?"

He breathed in. "I was testing a theory."

"and what would that theory be?" She turned to face him and once again they were close.

"I may be addicted to something much stronger than heroin."

She looked slowly over his face taking in every detail and asked softly. "Do you plan on quitting it?"

His eyes ignited and he leaned down to whisper.

"Never."

He pressed his lips against hers and she wrapped her arms around his neck. She moaned into the kiss and he held her tight against his body. He gently turned them around and leaned forward lowering them onto the bed. Their lips broke apart and he looked down at her. She smiled tiredly up at him and he kissed her quickly once more.

"You need to rest."

She sighed and ran her hands over his shoulders and down his arms.

"Have I ever told you nobody likes a know it all?"

He laughed and it rumbled through his chest as he kissed her head.

"Lucky I don't know it all then."

Drrrrrrrrrrnnnnngggg!

Sherlock groaned and pressed his face tightly into Victoria's shoulder. Victoria reached out and fumbled with her alarm clock, her hand blindly reaching to turn it off.

Drrrrrnnnggggg!

"Sherlock. Sherlock you have to let me go or it'll keep going."

"A reasonable sacrifice."

She waited for his arms to loosen and then realised he had no intentions of letting her go.

"Sherlock." She wriggled in his arms. He huffed and let her go mumbling that she was more insistent than the clock. She smirked turning it off. She sat on the edge of her bed looking back at her best friend. His hair was sloping to one side where he had clearly lain on it and his eyes were staring back at her.

"I have to get ready for work."

"Nonsense, you aren't due in today. "

She took his hand that had been laying against her leg and held it in hers.

"I'm not having a day off when thirteen bodies have just shown up. I have several leads to look in to and even more notes to add to the system for cross searching with..." He pulled her till she leaned on his chest and his fingers ran up her arm, across her collar bone and down to where her surgery scar lay. He ran his fingers softly over it.

"It is your one day off Tori. Give me the leads, someone else can do the data entry. I know you find it hard relying on others but you can't afford to burn yourself out."

She sighed closing her eyes at the feel of his touch and the logic of his words.

"You can have the leads but the data entry I will input myself. Two hours tops. If it isn't finished by then I shall leave it to one of the IT boys."

He squinted listening for any sign she was lying. "ok a compromise."

She leaned forward and missed him softly. "thank you"

She stood up and raced to the shower. He may in bed a moment txting John.

Take tori to lunch today. -S.H

I guess I can. I'll have to move a few appointments around. 12.30 ok? - John.

it wasn't a request. -S.H

After a moment's thought

12.30 will do fine. - S.H

John walked into the cafe 'Mad Hatter' looking around for a familiar face.

"Sir can I help you?" An albino man stood at the entrance with an iPad in his hands.

"I'm meeting a friend but, well I didn't expect this place to be so..."

"Intense?" The man raised an eyebrow at John with a smirk on his face.

"I was going to say busy." John looked around at all the young people sitting in mismatched chairs drinking tea and eating slice. The place was themed as what could only be described as alternative and John suddenly feely very plain. He spotted Victoria waving from across the room at a red table. He pointed to her and nodded.

"there she is"

"Ah you are here with Tori?" John smiled and nodded as the man held out his hand to shake.

"Frankie."

"Oh uh John." They shook hands.

"Nice to meet you John." Frankie held out his arm for John to pass and watched as he went and sat down with Victoria. She laughed as he straightened his jacket and looked around.

"Think I just met the mad hatter."

Tori smirked. "Oh no John, Frankie is the white rabbit. The chef is the mad hatter."

John shook his head "you're actually serious aren't you?"

She handed him the menu. "Absolutely. Gerald is as mad as they come. Genius. But crazy."

"I'm well versed in that combination."

"Speaking of sherlock" she leaned back in her chair. "You can tell him I made it in time and am behaving."

John looked over the menu. "I don't know what you're talking about Tori."

They shared a smile.

"of course not."

JOHN: At mad hatters, tori here. Said you could stop worrying.

Sherlock stuffed his phone into his pocket. He knew she'd figure it out. He almost felt bad for John having to meet her at that preposterous cafe. He chuckled slightly to himself. She had always loved the bizarre. Sherlock looked around at the field he stood in. The bodies had been removed but the markers and the swarm of officers remained. People moved around in a tight dance taking photos of evidence. Sherlock stood in front of the spot where the bodies had been found.

"Beautiful isn't it?"

Sherlock's eye twitched as Michael hall came and stood beside him.

"Some would find poetry in this moment but only a psychopath would find it beautiful."

Michael laughed kicking the dirt beneath his feet.

"Oh Mr Holmes I was talking about the view. Some would find your assumption very telling."

"I do not care for what others think."

Hall pulled out a pack of gum and began to unwrap it. "we both know that's a lie." He popped it in his mouth. "Vicky matters right?"

Sherlock turned to hall and looked at the man as he considered a reply.

"Victoria's opinion is valued as she has a reasonable I.Q. I do not expect you to understand."

Hall nodded licking his bottom lip. "you're right. I don't understand what her IQ has to do with it." He quietened as an officer walked past. "I do however know you stayed the night at her place last night."

"I co-own the property so it is fitting that I stay there."

Hall smirked and tapped his lips. "Oh. see with her leg feeling better I figured you had finally got her back on her knees where the whore belongs."

The crack of sherlock's fist hitting his face rang out. Hall turned back to Sherlock wiping the blood from his lip. The scene around them paused. Hall thought a moment before whispering. "I don't blame you. She is... delicious."

Sherlock flew at Hall with a myriad of punches. Lestrade ran over to the men and pulled Sherlock off him.

"psycho! I don't care who he is Lestrade..." Hall rolled over and spat blood on the ground. "he just assaulted a police officer. If you don't arrest him I will."

Everyone looked at each other watching what Greg would do.

"Ah hell Sherlock." Sherlock stared in fury at the man on the ground. Greg grabbed Sherlock's shoulder gently and led him to the car. Sherlock didn't resist but turned his gaze to Greg.

"I don't know what he said Sherlock but I have a feeling you just played right into his hands."

"don't forget to come back soon." Frankie hugged Victoria as her and John left.

"No promises Frankie I'm a busy lady." She calls out as she walked out onto the footpath.

"Oomph" she was knocked over by someone rushing down the street.

"Sorry love."

Victoria cringed at the voice as she looked up to see Rocko from the courier company.

"hang on..." He looked angrily down at her as John helped her up. "Abby? Or is it Victoria?"

She winced. Her cover had been blown.

"imagine my surprise when I turn on the news and the beauty that promises me a glowing review turned out to be a coppa."

"I'm hardly a cop rocko."

Rocko sneered pointing a finger in her face.

"i don't like liars."

"now hang on there, you just back off." John moved between the two.

"Oh fuck off mate. Your bitch will get what's coming to her. "

"You. Really need to move. Before I hit you. "

Rocko squinted at John.

"yeah" he turned and left the two standing on the sidewalk.

"You ok?"

Victoria let out a breath and smiled tightly at John.

"yeah. I'm fine."
