"Ok, gang... This is going to be a walk in the park. There is only one target, and no security. However, Grimm had become aware of that fact last night. As I predicted, he's called the security company asking for a representative to inspect the building. That's Sly's job."

"Wait, what?" Sly blurted. "What am I supposed to do again?"

"Your part is meant to gather intelligence. You and Murray will take the van over to Grimm's estate and pose as members of the company. Sly, you'll be wearing a bugged name-tag. I've also prepared these." Bentley placed on the table what appeared to be an ordinary pair of eyeglasses. The lenses however, were thin and looked as if they weren't even there. "These are fitted with a camera on the frame so that I can see the layout of the house and figure out the preferred plan of attack."

"A plan of attack? Is that really necessary?" Sly asked. "We are dealing with a middle-aged dog with a cane. Something doesn't feel right..."

"I agree. Something is definitely suspicious about this character. We don't know exactly what he is capable of yet. Phase One is strictly reconnaissance work. Once we have that, then we move to Phase Two..."

While Bentley was busy with his monologue, the Guru was rummaging through the clothes and could not find one that matched his size. He brought this to attention.

"I'm sorry Guru, but we need someone here. If something goes wrong, we'll come get you. We haven't forgotten about you."

The Guru pouted and muttered under his breath.

Bentley continued. "Phase Two has me acting as the technical supervisor and Penelope acting as my assistant. I'll fill everyone in on that later. Are we clear on the plan?

"Understood." Penelope said.

"Ditto." Sly said.

"I'm pumped!" Murray blurted excitedly.

The Guru muttered and groaned, but agreed anyway.

"Great! You all know the drill for leaving separately, right? Murray parked the van nearby. The disguises are inside."

It wasn't much longer before Sly, Bentley, and Murray met at the van.

"Phase One... Murray, Sly and I will arrive to Grimm's location. Sly, you'll be the one going inside the building. I'll be in the van with Murray, watching and listening."

Bentley handed the name-tag to Sly. "Sly, this will record what both of you say. The eyeglasses will give me a view on the inside of the building."

"First, Sly, go ahead and get changed. The back of the van should make a nice-"

"Done."

"... Dressing room." Bentley said.

Sly had changed completely into his disguise in less than 5 seconds. Bentley adjusted the nametag and glasses to make sure it was perfect.

"Right then. Murray, you're the only other person that Grimm might see. You should get dressed too.

Murray used the van and was completely changed in about a minute.

"Great! You guys are ready to go?"

Both Sly and Murray nodded.

As they got into the van, Murray noticed something. He didn't know where Grimm's house was from the city. He wondered how to tell Bentley as he started the van. When he turned the key, a small screen blinked on from the console. Instead of a radio, there was a GPS unit that Murray didn't notice before. He looked around to see Penelope sitting in front of the café. He smiled at her as she winked back.

As they drove past, her smile turned to a frown.

"That big lug. Why did he have to say that? Now I don't know if I should do this."

She looked down at the table, where a flash drive sat out of place. There was also a crumpled up piece of paper next to it. She nervously glanced at her watch, watching the time slowly count.

"I can do this... Regardless of how I feel, I'm already part of this."

The beeping of her watch was the signal. Unbeknownst to Bentley, she used his hacking program to cause the street's security cameras to loop an image of her sitting at the table. The watch was a signal for her to act now. Grabbing the flash drive, she entered the café and sat at an empty computer. It took seconds to upload schematics of the time machine and email them to an unknown contact. She also entered a command that erased any data that she entered. She had also taken precaution to wear gloves as to not leave fingerprints. The reboot of the computer meant that she had succeeded. As she left, another user took her place. She was able to retrieve the paper ball and take a sip of coffee before her watch had signaled that the cameras were live again.

"I'm sorry guys... I don't know what I'm doing anymore."

She returned to the hotel, waiting for the guys to come back.

Murray carefully parked in front of the house. Sly was in the passenger seat talking to Bentley, who was giving last minute pointers.

"Bentley, we need to think this through."

"We have, Sly. You know that there is no better way to learn about a target than with reconnaissance work. This is our chance to find out what Grimm Hund is really capable of."

"I just have a bad feeling about this... Something isn't right."

"I know this plan is more elaborate than it should be. I want to find out if there is any way to eliminate Grimm as a threat without him posing a threat to us."

"I get it now; you want to attack him before he can attack us."

"In the most effective manner possible, yes."

"Alright. Let's do this."

"Do me a favor, Sly." Bentley asked as Sly was climbing out of the van.

"What?"

"Try not to anger him. Let's keep things calm."

"Roger that."

As Sly walked towards the house, he heard Bentley talking to himself.

"Alright. Visual feed is incoming. Visual is online... Testing the audio input. Hmm... The audio is mute... Maybe if I increase the volume..."

"Can you hear me now?" Sly asked, shortly before hearing Bentley shriek in his ear.

"Now I can... Let's adjust that back down... Alright Sly, I'm set here."

"Hey Bentley," Murray said. "What am I supposed to do?"

"Nothing at the moment. Just get ready for Plan B."

Sly heard this through his headset and immediately brought it up for questioning.

"No one told me about a Plan B."

"Don't worry about it. It's the term used for your escape plans. I gave it the codename so Murray would know what it was for."

"Wouldn't it be simpler to call it something like 'Escape Plan' or 'Exit'?

"You never could understand codenames Sly..."

"Because they make no sense. Why bother with code names anyway?"

"Sly, codenames are meant to confuse those that might be listening."

"And is anybody listening?"

"Well... No. My computer is telling me that the communication link is secure."

"Boys..." Penelope chimed in. "Are you guys gonna argue all day or are you gonna get the show on the road?"

"Penelope? How did you access the communication link? This is a secured channel."

"Worry about that later. She's right. Let's do this." Sly said.

Sly approached the old house dressed in an orange shirt, matching sweatpants, a cap, and tennis shoes. Maybe Penelope was right. These looked horrible. Sly was carrying a clipboard with a random page that Bentley printed out. His shirt had a pocket that held a pen and a mechanical pencil. The orange cap hid most of his face that the eyeglasses couldn't hide.

He knocked on the door and waited for a reply.

"Here I am... Knocking on the door of my new immortal enemy. Act casual... Be calm..."

The door slowly swung open, revealing something unexpected.

A wolf of about 80 years or older stood in the doorway. He wore a large, black robe and held a wooden cane with a tight grip. The wolf held out a scrawny hand in a polite gesture. Sly slowly shook his hand, still distracted by what he saw.

The interior of the house was clean. Well, cleaner than an abandoned building should be... The couches were neatly set up in the living room near a coffee table. From the entrance, Sly could see recently-hung portraits. Candles had been lit along the walls, bringing light into the house. The house still had that cold and eerie feeling, but it was if he made an attempt to make it inviting.

"The house is in bad shape, but I was wondering if there was anything your company can do."

This brought Sly back to reality. "Well, it's not the best looking house that I've seen... But I think we could help you."

The wolf smiled. "That's good to hear. What's your name?"

"Robert, but you can call me Rob."

"Rob C.?" The wolf asked, reading Rob's nametag. "You can call me Grimm."

"Grimm Hund, correct? I got your information from my supervisor."

"Yes... That's correct."

"So, what seems to be your concern?" Rob asked, looking around the room.

"Just keep him busy, Rob. I'll get everything I need."

"Well, I fear that my home may be unsafe."

"What was your first clue?"

"If your home is in such a condition, why haven't you considered moving?"

"At my age? Any type of moving is difficult. I almost hurt myself from hanging a few pictures. It's just not an option."

"I see. Well, is there anything specific that you were looking for?"

"How about I give you a tour first? That way you can see for yourself."

"That's sounds like a great idea. Lead the way!" Rob said, following Grimm.

Sadly, Bentley wasn't getting any new information from the tour. The house was built as a large mansion. It had several, unused rooms and a large living room. The furniture had belonged to the previous owner; it didn't offer any information on Grimm Hund's personality. The only unique images were a hand-drawn sketch of Mira and a painting of what Bentley assumed to be their wedding night.

Grimm Hund's behavior was also confusing. He was polite and gentle the entire time. Bentley saw that he was actually dependent on the cane; he needed it to stand and walk.

Annoyed by the lack of data, Bentley called Sly back in.

"Excuse me Grimm; I think my supervisor is calling me."

After a brief discussion, Sly turned back to Grimm.

"Well Mr. Hund, it looks like we have everything we need. My supervisor will be here tomorrow to personally address your issue."

"I'm glad that you could see me on such short notice."

"Yeah, we've been busy..."

"Busy? I'd bet you would be... with a suspicious figure roaming the streets."

"Suspicious... figure?" Rob asked, his voice gaining a sense of nervousness.

"Keep calm Sly..."

"It's just that I could swear that I was followed. I must be seeing things..."

Rob was improvising now... "Maybe you were followed. We've gotten reports of thieves and criminals patrolling the streets. I want to assure you that we're working our best to protect homes and property."

"That's good to hear. So I'll see you tomorrow Rob?"

"Perhaps. If I'm not busy with other customers." Rob started to laugh.

Grimm joined him in a laugh. "Of course... It was nice meeting you."

"Likewise."

Rob casually left the house to his company's van. They slowly drove away, not knowing that Grimm had been watching them leave.

"Rob... He looked familiar... But... I've never met a raccoon in my life..."

Shrugging the anomaly away, Grimm walked back into the house and shut the door.
