Chyna: It got deleted three times over the past month because my laptop died and then my dad was in hospital last week while I was writing this chapter which got deleted in the panic etc.
Yumi: *whistles*: Still at least on the plus side, the WDC starts in chapter 27 :D

Even though I usually write about my day in this diary, I am the worst person to tell you about the events that happened next because to be honest, I spent all day in Heartland Hospital with Shark. However one day when I find this diary and look back on this entry or anybody else who cares enough to read about my life, I want them to know the importance of this situation and how it didn't just affect me.
So for this entry, I'll be writing down Astrid's own interpretation of events because she can't hold a pencil due to her having no physical body. Whether or not if you believe me about Astrid or Astral existing is another matter entirely as some people reading this entry may believe that I'm just making it up, but I can assure you that I am not. Now Astrid is shouting into my ears about how she wants to tell us her story, so I'm handing the pen (metaphorically not physically) to her.
Astrid's POV:
Until the day that I disappear off of this Earth, I will never forget this day because it was the day that Kaito Tenjo invaded the Emperor's Key and almost killed Astral and me. I remember feeling a pool of despair (that's the correct term, right?) in my stomach as the area that my onii-san and I resided in when we weren't assisting Yuma and Yumi. I could also feel the pain that Yumi was feeling except it wasn't a physical pain, more of an emotional pain and even though I badly wanted to see what was causing her this much pain, I couldn't just leave Astral (plus for some reason I couldn't leave this world). All the Number Pillars were floating in and out of places.
"The time…"
"…time has come…"
"Unlock the power of…"
Multiple whispers filled the air, but they never finished their sentence.
I went over to Astral and flung my arms around him, "Onii-san, what's happening? Everything is moving."
He awkwardly patted my head, "Do not worry; I'm sure it's nothing."
But nothing could have been further from the truth! I heard some footsteps that were faint at first but became louder with each passing second until a stranger appeared in front of us. He had a strawberry shaped hair style with a green fringe in front, fair skin like that vampire guy out of Twilight (ouch Yumi-chan!) and cold grey eyes. You know that strange human saying about a person's eyes being the window to their soul? Well if that saying is true, then I fear for my existence because it was like this person had no soul. I could also sense an aura that was filled with some sort of…fire.
His clothes were as equally depressing as his eyes. They consisted of a black trench coat with a high collar over a grey shirt, a finger-less black glove on his right hand, and white trousers with black boots. He also has a belt with two purple deck boxes for his cards around his waist.
"I found you." He simply stated.
"As I thought, it was you, Kaito." Astral said as he gently pushed me behind him.
Kaito…wasn't that the name of that guy that Yuma and Astral dueled which sent them both into depression? Because if this is that guy then I have a bone to pick with him!
"How do you know my name?" Kaito asked as I came out from behind Astral.
"How can he forget your name you monster, you tried to kill us!" I screeched before Astral covered my mouth.
"Astrid, be quiet."
Kaito's eyes flashed in confusion before he regained his composure, "You're the messenger from the Astral World?"
"Messengers," I mumbled.
Right at that moment, Utopia and Andromeda flew in front of us.
Kaito looked a bit surprised, "Oh? Those Numbers are…I see. You transferred the original Numbers to Yuma and Yumi Tsukumo."
How does he know Yumi?! Has Yumi dueled him and if so, why hasn't she told me? I thought we were friends (I know you had a good reason at the time Yumi-chan, but still).
"You stole the Emperor's Key from Yuma." Astral commented which I suppose made sense because how else would Kaito gain access to this place?
"Is that called the Emperor's Key?" Kaito seems to have more questions than answers.
"Why are you searching for the Number cards? I mean most Number Holders want to collect them for power but you don't seem to be that power hungry or possessed for that matter." I cocked my head to the side.
Astral should have asked that question from the start instead of killing the bush…that's what humans say right.
"Same question to you, why?" Kaito is so unoriginal! It annoys me soooo much!
"The numbers are a part of our memories." Why is Astral betraying all of our secrets to the enemy!
"What? Your memories you say?" Darn it he sounds so interested!
"That is correct." Astral answered, "Therefore, I collect the numbers. But why are you searching for them?"
Kaito smirked, "It's because I want to know the secret about the Numbers, the Astral World and the Barian World."
The…Barian…World? I've heard of the Astral World because I was born there but the Barian World? If people from the Astral World are called Astral Beings, are people from the Barian World called Barian Beings? And the fact that Kaito linked the Astral World to the Barian World may mean that both worlds may have a connection with each other and Number cards. Or am I just over thinking everything?
I looked to Astral and he shook his head to show that he didn't know what the Barian World is either.
"I have to collect all the Numbers to find the answer. Well could I get all your Numbers?" Kaito smirked.
That tore it because I walked out from behind Astral and I anticipated his move to push me back behind him, so I ducked underneath his arms.
"I am not afraid of you, alright? You are not having the Numbers that my precious comrades- no friends, risked their lives for!" I exclaimed.
Astral came up next to me, "Astrid you don't have to get involved in this."
"Too late, we shall have a battle royal and the last duelist standing shall win all of the Numbers! Fate has opened the door. Now, let's duel!" Kaito declared as the scenery suddenly changed and we were all standing on top of the airship (I don't care if you don't believe how such a large ship resides in the Emperor's Key, Yumi-chan because I'm not lying! Just ask Yuma-kun!)
Astral and I stood opposite of Kaito. Astral looked at me, "Are you ready?"
"No but let's win this duel." I gulped.
"Duel mode! Photon Transformation," Kaito shouted as his attire turned white. His duel disk boomeranged onto his wrist as his Duel Gazer tattoo appeared over his left eye. "Now, let me hunt for all of your Numbers!"
Astral raised his arm and his blue aura made a dark blue Duel Disk appear on his left wrist. I wonder…I held up my left arm and my own aura made the same Duel Disk as Astral's except it was dark pink. We all drew our starting hands.
"Let's duel!"
Astral: 4000

Kaito: 4000
Astral started, "My turn, I draw! I set a monster face-down and furthermore, I set another card face-down and end my turn!"
Astral is going for defensive?! This is not good because you can't just win a duel by defending all the time! In fact the best offence is the greatest defence, looks like it's up to me to save the day, yet again.
"Here I go; I draw and summon Fairy Archer (3/1400/600) in attack mode." I declared as the small brunette fairy flew onto the field in front of me. She wore a blue bodysuit with a green leaf skirt around her waist and four yellow wings sticking out of her back. In her hands she held a yellow bow and arrow.
"Next I equip her with Silver Bow and Arrow which increases her attack and defense by 300 (3/1700/900)!" Silver fairy dust sprinkled onto her weapon and transformed them into a silver version.
"Since it's my first turn, I can't attack but you're still gonna take damage because in return for Fairy Archer not attacking, she can inflict 400 points of damage to my opponent for each LIGHT monster I control. I control one LIGHT monster so the person I choose to take this damage is you, Kaito!" I pointed at him before Fairy Archer knelt down and pulled the string of her bow so that a silver arrow hit Kaito on his chest.

Kaito: 3600
"That's my turn over." I concluded.
"My turn, I draw! Let me first seal your set card!" Kaito declared.
Astral let out a low gasp but I just kept my eyes on Kaito because for all we know, he could be bluffing.
"I summon Reverse Buster (4/1500/0)." A red demon-like monster wearing grey cargo pants and a red cape appeared. In his hands he wielded a large silver hammer.
I was relieved that Reverse Buster was weaker than Fairy Archer because it meant that Kaito couldn't attack her.
"When Reverse Buster battles, it seals one of the opponent's face-down spell or trap cards!" He explained as chains appeared around Astral's face-down card.
"Go, Reverse Buster! Attack that face-down monster!" Kaito commanded before Reverse Buster hit Astral's face-down with its hammer.
Astral's face-down monster flipped up to reveal Gogogo Golem (4/1800/1500).
"As I thought, it was Gogogo Golem! I activate Reverse Buster's effect!" Kaito smiled.
"What effect?" Astral and I gasped.
Kaito is just lying about him knowing its Gogogo Golem; he's just trying to freak us out.
"When Reverse Buster battles a face-down monster, it destroys the monster without calculating damage." He explained as Reverse Buster pulled him hammer back and smashed Gogogo Golem to pieces.
"Gogogo Golem can only avoid being destroyed when it battles. According to this effect, it cannot use the destruction avoidance ability. When Reverse Buster destroyed a defense position monster, its attack power increases by 500 points (4/2000/0)."
That monster is too overpowered! How does Kaito have such rare cards?
"The power of Zexal…"
My head snapped up at that and I looked around the entire room to search for the source of the voice. What the heck is Zexal?
"I set two cards face-down to end my turn." Kaito finished.
"You are magnificent, Kaito. Your dueling skills are beyond my imagination." Astral complemented.
I almost choked in horror and shot a death look at Astral, "Astral! You never compliment the enemy!"
"What an honour, but if you want me to be indifferent by saying something like this, it's no use." Kaito smirked in that arrogant tone of his; I'm liking him less and less as each turn of this duel passes.
"That was not my intention. You are the strongest duelist, as far as I know. You put all your spirit into your duels. What makes you do this?" That was when I realised the true meaning of what Astral was asking; he wanted to know why Kaito was hunting Numbers.
I should really give Astral more credit sometimes (no I am not arrogant! I'm telling the truth!).
"So you had the time to observe me? If I dared to tell you, you're different from those burdened people. I think it's just like this." Kaito said.
I don't understand what he means by that but I don't like it.
"It seems to me that you have a reason to collect the Numbers, is that correct?" Astral asked.
Kaito's confident smirk turned into a frown, "I don't intend to talk about this to you who'll soon disappear."
"We're not going to disappear because we're not going to lose." I snarled.
We will win this duel!
"Is that so?"That's disappointing. I am fascinated about you. You have something like Yuma has, right?" Ooooooh, it looks like Astral has hit a sore spot!
"What did you say?!" Kaito sounded extremely angry.
"Is it like this, isn't it? When I transferred to Yuma, I felt his heart because of that. At the bottom of Yuma's heart is the sadness of having lost his parents. And he struggles with this sadness, with his parent's teachings, which he believes in and keeps on living by." Astral informed him.
I didn't want to be left out of this conversation, so I added my own observations.
"Yumi-chan is the same. She misses her kaa-chan very much and even though she acts like she's moved on, how can she when she hasn't even come to terms with her kaa-chan's disappearance." I really feel sorry for Yumi sometimes, she acts like she's fine half the time when she isn't (Yumi-chan you know its true; you can't keep sticking your head in the sand like a flamingo!).
Kaito's face went from a pale white to a strawberry red; I think he was really angry.
"You mean he and I are alike?!" He spluttered.
"That's right," answered Astral.
"Don't joke around! I don't have parents or something like that! The only one I have is Haruto!" Kaito blurted out and I could tell that he instantly regretted it.
I love how Astral was smart enough to get Kaito worked up soooo much, that he let his emotions get the best of him.
"Haruto…?" Astral and I chirped.
"Cut out that idiotic conversation!" Continue the duel! Now, it's your turn!" It was clear that Kaito just wanted this duel to finish as quickly as possible.
Astral made his next move, "My turn, draw! I summon Gogogo Giant (4/2000/0) in attack mode. When this card is successfully summoned, I can special summon Gogogo Golem in defense position from my graveyard! And when this effect is used, Gogogo Giant's position changes into defense position."
I couldn't stop myself from smiling like an idiot because Astral has two level four monsters on the field! I may not be good at math, but I do know that two times four equals Utopia!
Astral then narrowed his eyes, "Gah…I activate the continuous magic card Double Defender from my hand! This card is activated when there are two face-up defense position monsters on the field, and allows me to negate an opponent's attack once per turn."
Defensive?! Oh heck to the no! Not on my watch! I've never seen somebody win by playing defensive!
"Astral! What on Earth are you doing?! Summon Utopia and inflict 1000 points of damage to him!" I screeched at him.
"I set a card and end my turn." Astral ignored my outburst and I swear that I could red
"I surely thought that you'd call out your ace card, Utopia. But if you did that, your defense position monsters Gogogo Golem and Gogogo Giant would disappear. And, if you'd use Hope ability, your defense would decrease. Those two set cards are for protection too, aren't they?" Why is he asking when he already knows the answer?
Kaito put one of his hands on his hip, "You were aware of my set card? Or are you just afraid of Galaxy Eyes?"
Astral visibly faltered as his eyes widened in fear. Is this 'Galaxy Eyes' card really that terrifying?
"It's my turn, I draw. I summon Constellar Sheratan (3/700/1900) in defense mode."
The Aries constellation formed above me and a stream of light flashed causing a small armoured man with a ram's head to fly down in a shimmer of stardust.
"When this monster is summoned, I can add one Constellar monster from my hand to my deck. I choose Constellar Siat. Now I activate Fairy Archer's effect, in return for not letting my Archer attack, you lose 400 Life Points for every LIGHT monster I control. I have two so you lose 800 Life Points!" I informed him before Kaito!" I pointed at him before Fairy Archer knelt down and pulled the string of her bow so that two silver arrows hit Kaito square on his chest.

"But I'm not done yet! I activate Pot of Greed so I can draw two cards. Now I have two level three monsters on the field, you know what that means! Level 3 Fairy Archer and Constellar Sheratan overlay! I will create an Overlay Network with these two monsters! Xyz Summon! Appear now the dragon of the sea, Number 17: Leviathan Dragon (3/2000/0)!" My two monsters transformed into two streams of light and flew into a galaxy filled portal. A flash of red caused a black spiral in the centre of the field to appear, it started moving and uncoiling to reveal a blue-black dragon with the Number '17' on its right horn.
"I activate Overlay Bullet; by sending all of Leviathan's Overlay Units to the graveyard my opponent loses 500 Life Points for every unit. I count two so please accept 1000 points of damage!"

Kaito: 1800
For somebody who is going to lose soon, Kaito seems very…bored. This'll wipe the smile off of his face!
"I equip Leviathan Dragon with Xyz Unit. This increases its attack by 200 points times its rank, since its rank 3 then Leviathan now has 2600 attack points! Attack Reverse Buster," I ordered as my dragon opened its mouth and shot a ball of black energy at Kaito.
Sadly I neglected Kaito's face-down cards because he activated one of them.
"You fool, I activate Draining Shield. This negates your monster's attack and allows me to add its attack to my Life Points!" He sneered as a blue shield appeared in front of him and absorbed my dragon's attack.

There goes all my hard work; I looked down at my hand and sighed. With how Astral is acting he'll lose the duel within a few turns, I better set this card face-down to protect him.
"I set one card face-down and it's your move Kaito." The horizontal backing of the card appeared in front of me but behind my monster.
Kaito smirked in his all knowing way, "My turn, draw, I activate the magic card Photon Hurricane! This card allows me to put back as many cards from the opponent's spell and trap cards on the field equal to the amount I have in my hand. According to this, all your set cards will return to your hand."
"What did you say?" Astral sounded shocked and I realised that this affected me as well!
I clenched and unclenched my fists, this darn guy!
"That's right; you should have attacked me the first chance you got." He taunted.
I shot Astral an 'I told you so' look because let's face it, I told him so!
"Another magic card," He frowned.
Kaito sneered, "That's right; it wasn't a counter for your attack. If you had attacked me just now, this situation would have changed."
Kaito did have a point but I wasn't going to rant at Astral because he probably felt really guilty already.
"I tribute Reverse Buster and special summon Photon Leo (6/2100/1100)!" announced Kaito, "I activate Photon Leo's effect! Howling Blow," A blue lion like monster with gold and silver armour ran onto the field.
I don't like the looks of this at all!
"When this card is successfully summoned, the opponent is forced to put all their cards in their hand into their decks and lets them draw the same amount of cards."
My mouth dropped open as the vibrations from Photon Leo's mouth caused all of mine and Astral's cards to fly back into our decks.
Neither of us could speak as we drew our starting hands, I tried my best not to cry because now I had to construct a new plan.
"Well now, draw new cards to your hand!" Kaito insisted.
"Your strategy is set to the starting point with this. I am a little disappointed. Your current tactics were devoted to the defensive side. You are too scared!" Kaito kept saying.
"Just change the record Kaito! Leave Astral alone and duel me if you must." I defended.
Astral isn't good to anyone in this state, where's Yuma when you need him? He might be the only one who can get Astral out of this funk because Astral isn't even listening to me.
"I don't want you, I want him!" Kaito said in a rude tone.
My brow furrowed in frustration, how rude is he?!
"I equip Photon Leo with Photon Spear. When a monster is equipped with Photon Spear and its attack power surpasses its defense power, the defense is inflicted as damage to the opponent. Photon Leo, attack Gogogo Giant! Silver fang,"
Gogogo Giant was destroyed once again and the force of the attack blew Astral back.
"Onii-san," I screamed.
Astral: 1900
Astrid: 4000
Kaito: 4400
"The power of Zexal. Astral and Yuma…they need the power of Zexal!"
Only problem is Yuma isn't here mystical ghost voices! I miss Yumi, Astral may be here in body but he isn't here in spirit and I feel so alone.
"I'm…fine." Astral rose up to his feet and scowled at Kaito.
"You are a good duelist, but you should give up this duel. Your heart is too weak to win over me." I could feel myself growling at Kaito for ignoring me once again.
I do exist you know!
"No, I will not give up! If I was the same me as before, I would certainly give up. But, I will not give up now! Because I was taught Kattobingu by my precious friends," I yelped in joy at his words.
"As Yuma would say, let's bring it to him Astral!" I whooped.
"Your Life Points are half of mine. Now, what are you going to do?" Kaito looked like he had to stop himself laughing.
Astral just glared at Kaito's confident look. He's back alright and with us working together as a team, there's no way we can lose!
"I set a card and end my turn." Kaito colluded as Astral's eyes narrowed.
"My turn, draw!" Astral looked at his hand and I just kept my eyes locked onto Kaito's.
"What's wrong? It's your turn!" Kaito needs to learn an important skill called 'patience'.
"Remember Astral, the best offence is a great defence." I winked at him.
He nodded and looked ahead a bit more confidently, "I summon Zubaba Knight (3/1600/900)! Furthermore, I send a card from my hand to the graveyard and special summon Acorno (1/200/400). Next I activate the magic card Drop Exchange! This card allows me to send two or more monsters on the field to the graveyard and special summon a monster from my hand with the level equal to the amount of level of the monsters I sent to the graveyard. I send level 1 Zubaba Knight and level 1 Acorno to the graveyard and I special summon Kagetokage (4/1100/1500). This card cannot be normal summoned and can only be special summoned from my hand." I couldn't stop myself from jumping up and down in joy because now he can summon Utopia!
Kaito smirked and spoke, "He has two level 4 monsters."
"You got that right bub!" I stuck my tongue out at him.
"I overlay level 4 Gogogo Golem and Kagetokage. I construct an overlay network with these two monsters. Xyz summon! Come forth Number 39: Utopia (4/2500/2000)." His two monsters transformed into one brown and one purple stream of light before flying into a galaxy filled portal. In a flash of white light, the white and gold warrior posed on the field.
"That's how you do it!" I cheered again.
"Two Numbers on the field?" Kaito squared his shoulders.
"Go Utopia! Attack Photon Leo! Rising Sun Slash," Utopia flew in front of Leo and slashed him into digital pieces.
Astral: 1900

Kaito: 4000
"I can read your intentions! I activate the trap card, Armored Back! This card is activated when a monster equipped with an equip spell card is destroyed and will be revived in the same state as it was before it got destroyed." He explained.
I really hate Kaito, I actually do.
"Revive, Photon Leo!" The monster emerged out of this black portal in the ground.
"I set a card and end my turn!" declared Astral.
"Here I go you guys! Leviathan Dragon, destroy Photon Leo!" I just know Kaito won't be able to counter this move due to his lack of face-down cards.
Once again, I underestimated his skill.
"I activate the effect of Honest! By sending this card to the graveyard, Photon Leo gains attack equal to Leviathan Dragon (4/4700/1100)." I could only watch in horror as my monster's attack backfired and I could feel my body hurtling backwards.
"Aaaahhhhh," I screamed in pain as my back hit the floor.
Astral: 1900
Astrid: 1900
Kaito: 4000
I can't believe me and Astral are tied, though at least on the plus side, Leviathan Dragon isn't destroyed because only Numbers can destroy Numbers.
"Astrid, are you alright?" Astral almost ran over to me but I stopped him.
"Is…that…all you…got?" I rose to my feet, "I set…this…face-down. Turn…over…"
That attack really weakened me, I can barely see straight.
"My turn, draw! I summon Photon Circle (4/1000/1000)."
"Photon Circler's attack power is less than 2000. He can't special summon Galaxy Eyes if it's that attack power." That answers some of my question to how Galaxy Eyes is summoned, something to do with needing at least 2000 attack points on a monster.
"Is that so? I activate the effect of Photon Spear which is equipped to Photon Leo. When Photon Spear is equipped to a monster which was special summoned, this monster can be treated as two monsters." I'm sensing that this is bad.
"I'll show it to you, my spirit! Descend now, incarnation of light, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (8/3000/2500)!" Kaito grabbed this three pointed star and threw it into the heavens as all these stars started to form around it.
How can something so beautiful be bad? I was about to find out.
"It came forth before I realised! Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon," Okay Astral is panicking, will I have to activate my face-down card?
"Galaxy Eyes, attack Utopia! Photon Stream of Destruction,"
On a normal day I would just let Astral take an attack like this but he looks so scared. I started to think about how long I would last in this duel. The only reason I wanted to join in this duel was to help Astral but now, he doesn't need my help and I know that he won't be able to focus on defeating Kaito as long as I was still dueling. So I did the only thing I could.
"I activate Doble Passé! This turns Galaxy Eye's attack to a direct attack on me!" I looked at Kaito square in the eye and for the first time during this duel, he actually saw (acknowledged) my existence.
Galaxy Eye's attack bypassed Leviathan Dragon and hit me directly.
My body was hurtled backwards and I did a few back flips before hitting the ground.
Astral: 1900
Astrid: 0
Kaito: 4000
"No Astrid!" Astral shouted at me as Kaito laughed at me.
"You fool, why would you do that?" He cackled as Leviathan Dragon flew over Photon Leo and attacked him.
Astral: 1900
Kaito: 1400
"My trap card forces you to direct attack me and I can do the same to you in return. And don't worry about me Astral, I was just being a burden…win this duel…" I yawned
"You're a lot of things to me Astrid, but don't you ever think for one second that you're a burden to me." Astral smiled at me and I could feel tears well up in my eyes.
"Thank you…" I sniffed.
"Oh…not bad. But did you forget? Utopia is powerless against Galaxy Eyes! I set one card face-down to end my turn!" Kaito sounded impatient; I don't know why he wants this duel to end so quickly.
"I set one card face-down and Utopia will attack Photon Circle!" Utopia pulled out his sword and got ready to slash Photon Circle when Kaito stopped him.
"I activate Call of the Earthbound which redirects your attack to my Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon." A ghostly hand flies in front of Photon Circle and it redirected Utopia's attack.
"When a monster battles Galaxy Eyes, I can banish both monsters until the end of the battle phase!" Galaxy Eyes and Utopia locked in battle before disappearing into a portal.
"And since I banished a Xyz monster with Galaxy Eyes effect, it gains 500 attack points for every Overlay Unit that monster had! Utopia had two so now my dragon has 4000 attack points!" Kaito explained as both monsters reappeared except Utopia had lost its Overlay Units and Galaxy Eyes was sparkling even more.
This is not good!
"I end my turn." Astral looks so…defeated. But I know he can win this!
"Galaxy Eyes, attack Utopia with Photon Stream!" Kaito ordered before his monster pulled its head back and spat out a stream of photon energy.
Astral somehow managed to counter, "I activate the trap card, Clean Barrier - Clear Force! This card is activated when the opponent's monster attacks and allows me to bring its attack power down to its original power. This turns Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon's attack power back to 3000."
"Then I'll just banish Galaxy Eyes and Utopia. Now Photon Circle will attack you directly," the two monsters once again locked into combat and disappeared into a portal.
The small photon monster threw an energy wave at Astral causing him to fly back a bit.

"I end my turn with a face-down card." Kaito concluded as Utopia and Galaxy Eyes reappeared.
"My Kattobingu is not over yet," retorted Astral. He looked to me and gave me a small smile of comfort. I still felt rather unsettled.
"My turn, draw! Let me now show you Utopia's true form! When I have less than 1000 life points, this card becomes an overlay unit and becomes a Chaos Xyz! Come forth, Chaos Number 39! The power of hope, the messenger who changes the chaos into light, Utopia Ray (4/2500/2000),"
Utopia forced itself back into its sealed form before flying into a black portal that had suddenly appeared in the centre of the field. As it flew out, it unfolded itself into its black chaos form.
"Impossible! A Chaos Numbers, you say?! The Numbers has such a power?! But the attack power of Galaxy Eyes still wins!"
Astral stared ahead, "My aim is not Galaxy Eyes! I activate Utopia Ray's ability! By using one Overlay Unit, Utopia Ray's attack power will increase by 500 points this turn! Overlay change (Attack: 3000)! Furthermore, it decreases the opponent's monster's attack power by 1000 points! I choose Photon Circler (Attack: 0)!"
"W-what's happening?" Kaito is finally showing some fear; maybe he is human after all.
"Go, Utopia Ray!" ordered Astral, "Attack Photon Circle! Rising Sun Chaos Slash!"
Kaito was lashed backwards with a cry.
"Is this duel over?" Astral sounded rather uncertain and I felt how he sounded; that should have been the finishing blow.
Astral: 900
Kaito: 750
I was stunned, Kaito should have lost!
"That's too bad, I activated Rising Energy which increased Photon Circle's attack by 1500 and it has an effect that halves the damage when it's attacked." Kaito explained with this cheeky grin on his face.
Why won't this duel end already!
"I set a card and end my turn." Awwww, Astral sounds so sad.
"Don't worry Onii-san; you'll get him next turn." I said.
"The situation is reversed like this. My turn, draw! Disappear in front of Galaxy Eyes! Photon Stream of Destruction,"
Astral was knocked backwards and I could only watch in horror as he started to fade in and out. If he looked this bad…I really Yumi is okay.
Astral: 400
Kaito: 750
"This may be Utopia's final form but this is the end." Kaito insisted.
"Astral come on! You can still win this duel!" I noted that I probably sounded really hysterical by this point, but wouldn't you be?
"Astrid…"
I flew over to him and I held his hand, "I'm here." Tears began to well up in my eyes. Why does this hurt so much?
Astral parted with me and a small drop of water fell from his golden eye. He gasped as he stared at it; I touched it, feeling its moistness.
Just when I felt like all hope was lost, I heard a loud bang and Yuma just appeared out of nowhere. Suddenly the scenery had changed and Yuma and I were now in front of this scary looking door.
"Astral? Where is he? What's happening?" Yuma looked concerned and I couldn't blame him for that. I was concerned about Astral as well and I was just with him a few seconds ago.
"I-I don't know! We were just dueling Kaito a few moments ago!" I was interrupted by the door…I've never ever had to say that before today.
The door started speaking making Yuma and I look at it. By the look on Yuma's face, he was familiar with it, "Now, fly through the door. Fly through the door and get a new power in your hands. But, as an exchange, that being will lose his most precious thing. Are you prepared, Yuma Tsukumo?"
I snapped my head to look at Yuma, "Don't trust that door Yuma-kun! Just what does it mean by 'most precious thing'?" I asked him.
Yuma turned his gaze away from me and I then realised what it mean: Yumi.
"Listen to me Yuma, do not accept the deal! You can't!" I reasoned with him.
He clenched his hand into a fist, "As long as we collect all the Numbers, Yumi will be alright! And if we lose to Kaito now then you and Astral will disappear."
So it's either Yumi or us, I can't believe it would come down to this…what would Yumi do in this situation? She would probably tell Yuma to forget about her and accept this deal for the good of the world.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but you're right. Accept this deal Yuma-kun." I sighed before the scenery changed once again and I was sitting next to Astral.
I couldn't hear anything after that and I couldn't even see Yuma. What's going on? That was when I could feel something take control of me and I couldn't stop myself from blurting out, "Two souls combing into a new body in order to turn darkness into light. This is the power of Zexal."
"Zexal is the power that will save my world!" Astral shouted in remembrance.
"I'll obtain it, Astral! If I can rescue you, I will pay any price! I'll super Kattobingu!"
Yuma…" said Astral quietly as he looked upwards.
"My turn!" shouted Astral as he turned into a light blue ball of energy and Yuma turned into a ball of red energy.
"I construct an Overlay Network with Yuma and my own body! When two souls from far away meet, the power which passed down will come forth!" Both balls of energy merged with each other and I didn't know what to expect!
"I'll Kattobingu!" shouted Yuma as I watched them.
"Xyz Change Zexal!" shouted Astral.
I had to shield my eyes from the bright lights and once the light cleared, I gasped. Yuma had a suit of armour on and his black hair was now turned golden. His right eye was the same golden as Astral's while the one wearing the D-Gazer was Yuma's. Was this...Zexal?
"W-what is this?!" asked Yuma when he found his voice, "Is this me?!"
"That voice…" said Kaito making me remember his presence, "Yuma Tsukumo? Does this mean you've…fused? But you're life points are only 400!"
Yuma looked shocked, "It's not more than that?"
Suddenly Yuma's hand started glowing golden as I tilted my head at that. This is just too spectacular for words; they'll definitely win this duel now!
"Come on you two, let's win this duel!" I cheered while jumping up and down in the air like one of those dancing girls in short uniforms holding those weird coloured balls.
"All this light power, become the lodging abode of my right arm, and illuminate the path of hope! Shining Draw,"
They continued, "Come forth, Zexal Weapon – Unicorn King Spear! Unicorn King Spear becomes an equip card to Utopia Ray and increases its attack power by 1900 points! Charge, Unicorn Spear!" I nearly fell onto the floor, 4400 is enough to destroy Galaxy Eyes!
"4400 attack power?!" Kaito sounded like he couldn't believe what was happening, but then again neither could I!
I heard Astral explain, "Utopia Ray, which was equipped with Unicorn Spear, negates the effect of an opponent's monster with a field separating effect. Like this, Galaxy Eyes can't run away! Go, Zexal Weapon!"
Yuma and Astral then spoke in unison, "Unicorn Slash!"
"I activate the trap card, Photon Shock! Photon Shock is activated when a Photon Monster receives battle damage and inflicts the damage to both players."
"What the f-" I got cut off as the attack connected.
How could Kaito counter at a time like that!
"Galaxy Eyes!" shouted Kaito as he was knocked backwards.
Yuma and I were also knocked backwards from the force of the attack.
Astral: 0
Kaito: 0
Draw!
We survived. We didn't win but we survived. On a normal day I would be letting Hell lose, but I'm just too tired to argue anymore.
"Kaito, why are you collecting numbers?" I demanded. I will not rest until I find out how or why this boy knows about Numbers and what he plans to do with them.
"Why do you so such devilish things?" Yuma added.
Kaito stood up warily before turning his back to us, "I sold my soul to the devil for my little brother's sake.
This guy may deny it all he wants, but he is exactly like Yuma. Isn't that the same reason Yuma's collecting Numbers, to help Yumi as well as me and Astral?
"Younger brother?" repeated Yuma and gasped as he realized something, "Don't tell me it's…Just what happened to you?!"
Kaito glanced back at us as an orb flew out of his hand, "I'll give him back."
I hope that's Shark's soul because Yumi will be really happy and she deserves nothing but happiness. Then out of the blue, place we were in started to shake like crazy.
"W-what?!" asked Yuma as he tried (and failed) to keep his balance.
"What's happening?" I shrieked before the darkness swallowed me up and I could feel myself growing weaker before I finally lost consciousness.
And that's about it Yumi-chan, that is the monster that is Kaito Tenjo and why we need to be on our toes. But it is also the reason why I pity him; he's just like Yuma-kun except he's more up in people's faces about it. And on one final note to those who are reading this entry, Yumi-chan isn't lying and I actually exist! I shall be greatly offended if you think otherwise because I may not be visible to everybody, but that doesn't mean I'm not real!
Yumi's POV:
I didn't think Astrid would have that much to say, my hand is killing me and I have a mini headache from the arguments that we had during this transcript. However I do believe Astrid's recollection of the duel because little did she know, I was watching the entire time from my Duel Gazer Tattoo. I don't know how, but ever since Astrid gave me that new Duel Gazer it's like we've been linked somehow. From start to finish I saw (and felt!) the pain that the two Astral siblings were feeling and it almost broke me.
It's weird how Yuma and Astral had to become one in order to beat Kaito; not even Chaos Xyz Change could beat him! Will we ever be able to defeat Kaito Tenjo...I probably shouldn't ponder on that. Anywho, after I spent nearly an hour clutching a sink and vomiting blood into it, I saw Shark slowly reanimating back to life. I wanted to be the first thing he saw when he fully regained consciousness, so I sprinted to his side and jumped onto the chair. I don't think Shark will ever figure out why I was panting so hard.
"Where...am I?" He looked a bit confused at his surroundings, so I placed my hand over his and stroked the back of it with my thumb in an effort to comfort him.
"After that duel with Kaito, he stole your soul and to put it bluntly, you suffered from heart failure and nearly died." I explained as his head fell back onto his pillow.
"...gonna kill...guy..." he mumbled.
Shark better not be planning to get revenge on Kaito because that'll only end in tears...and not necessarily Shark's.
I gently thumped his arm, "Shark-kun I swear if you hunt down Kaito and get yourself hurt again, I can't be held responsible for my actions."
Shark rolled his eyes and scoffed, "Why do you care anyway?! What do you even know about me?"
I was pretty annoyed at that statement because you don't need to know somebody intimately in order to become friends with them. "I care because we've been through a lot together. From our first duel all those months ago to when we dueled that madman Cole, how can you not call me a friend when we've survived all of that together. Look at me Ryoga."
I didn't realise that I had called him by the wrong (I know it's his real name but still) name until he had stiffened slightly, "You called me-"
"Slip of the tongue. The bottom line is that no matter what you throw at me, I'll still be your friend okay? Now get some rest, I have to go home before Akari murders me. Bye." I patted his head before kissing him on his cheek like a mother would do to a sick child.
Shark rubbed his cheek with the back of his hand, "You just kissed me!"
"That was not a kiss! That was a peck on the cheek which doesn't count!" I countered.
God he is such a baby sometimes and I'm younger than him.
"Your lips made contact with my face!" He retorted. "That makes it a kiss!"
"If that's a kiss then what is this!" I asked him before placing my hands on both of his cheeks and bringing his lips to mine.
I was surprised by how bold I was being but Shark played around with my head, making me all annoyed so this is all his fault! He didn't move for a few seconds which I found to be a bit of a relief because I don't think my self esteem could take that hit. The 'kiss' (if that's what you would count as a kiss) ended as quickly as it had begun and my face flushed once I made eye contact with Shark, who seemed to be a bit breathless.
"That was...just uncalled for." He sunk back into his pillow and I tried to hide my disappointment, though in a way I was glad that was all he said.
"Maybe but you liked it really." I made my way over to the door of his hospital room before winking at him, "You just don't know it yet."
Chyna: And the winner for the Yumi X Shark shipping name contest is...
