Here's the second look at SPD and the future!
Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Chapter 25: History
Approaching Reefside High, Ari felt a sense of nostalgia as she looked up at the high school she had graduated from when she was 16. She found it funny, as she moved through the crowd, that she was only now the age that she should have graduated at.
"Ari!" she turned as her name was called, and let out a surprised squeak as she was hauled into the air in a massive hug. "You made it!" she laughed as Connor set her down, grinning widely.
"I couldn't let you have all the fun here without me," Ari told him with a smile as she steadied herself, before hugging Ethan as he laughed. The pair then realised that she wasn't alone, and looked up at Xander in surprise. "Kira told me to bring him along," seeing their confusion, Ari explained.
"Ari didn't give me much choice," Xander smirked, and Ari punched his arm.
"It's good to see you guys, so much for visiting," Ethan teased her.
"I've been a little busy lately, and besides, wouldn't you have been busy with classes in Reefside Tech?" Ari defended herself as she went red.
"Do you know if Kira's coming?" Ethan asked them.
"Doubt it. I heard she moved to New York to try and get a recording contract," Connor shrugged. As he went to ask Ari what she knew, another voice rang out.
"Trying being the key word," Kira told them as she walked inside, smiling at them.
"Kira!" the two young men hugged her.
"So, when can we expect to hear your next big single?" Ethan asked Kira as she released him and turned to hug Ari.
"Oh, I'm already all over the radio," she told him. "Singing a cat litter jingle," he grinned, making them laugh.
"Shall we?" Ethan offered his arm, and Kira linked hers with his.
"We shall!" she then linked with Connor, who linked with Ari. The Gold Ranger then took Xander's hand as he rolled his eye good-naturedly, and they walked down towards the gym where the reunion would be held. However, as they reached the stairs, light surrounded them and made them disappear.
Newtech City, 2028
"Just for the record, that wasn't me," Ari told them quickly as they let go of each other.
"Welcome to the future," they spun around to see two strange creatures; one with large white eyebrows and a beard, and the other that looked like a bat with a jar over his head.
"Oh? I thought we only used four Gems," the bearded one commented in a soft voice as they approached the group.
"Well well, of all the people to be brought along," the bat laughed as he looked at Xander, making him frown. "Now, you'll help me destroy the planet!" the pair leapt at them, only to slam into a forcefield and fall backwards.
"Let's get outta here!" Connor yelled, and he, Kira, Ari and Ethan grabbed their Dino Gems. They ran out of the strange building, and outside into a completely different city.

"I'm just saying, with your charisma and my-"
"Violent tendencies?"
"Shut up. With your charisma and my skills in martial arts, we could take down criminals way faster," a young woman with long blonde hair and blueish green eyes, wearing a grey and silver uniform, insisted.
"So all I have is charisma and no martial arts experience? What am I, my father?" the young man she had been talking to, who had dark brown hair and bright green eyes and a grey and gold uniform, frowned. The others walking with them laughed, shaking their heads. "Annie, I've told you, it was a fluke, it will never happen again," Spencer told her.
"You're no fun," Annie complained, and the doors to the command centre opened as they walked inside.
"What's new in the SPD Zoo commander?" their leader Jack asked as they walked inside. The two higher-ups looked startled to see them.
"Narrow in on that energy reading," Commander Krugar instructed sharply to Kat.
"Already on it," the technical expert replied as she worked quickly at the computer.
"What's going on Kat?" Syd asked curiously.
"What energy reading sir?" Sky glanced to their commander. The group of Rangers gathered around the computer, curious as to what was going on to make them look so urgent.
"I'm detecting an alternate Ranger energy down town," Kat explained.
"But we're not downtown," Bridge spoke up, frowning in confusion. "I mean, I'm not down town...I don't think I am," he shook his head.
"You're not downtown..." Annie patted his shoulder gently. Bridge let out a relieved sigh. They all then looked to Z with raised eyebrows.
"Don't look at me, I'm all here," she told them quickly.
"Then it's gotta be the A-Squad!" Sky realised with wide eyes.
"They made it back!" they smiled in relief.
1-2-3-4-5
The five ran through streets that none of them recognised, trying to get away from the strange bat and his companion. Strange things quickly caught up to them, and Ari glanced around.
"Uh, we've got company!" she called to the others.
"You think we should...?" Xander looked at her quickly.
"I'd say so," Ari nodded, and they slowed to a stop, turning to face the robots.
"Guys, what-" Connor, Kira and Ethan realised that they had stopped. Kira shoved Ethan and Connor along, forcing them to keep running as Ari and Xander grabbed their morphers.
"Can't even have a day off," Xander complained, and they flipped open their morphers as Ari let out a laugh.
"MAGICAL SOURCE, MYSTIC FORCE!" they morphed into their Gold and Green suits, grabbing their weapons and launching at the strange creatures running at them. "What the heck are these things?" Ari asked as she dodged a blast and swung, cutting up one with her swords.
"For once, I know as much as you do," Xander replied, before he cut the arm off one with his axe. "Hang on...they're robots!" he shouted over to Ari, who looked around sharply.
"Robots?" she cut through another that lunged for her, before walking over. He lifted the arm, and glanced up at her as she stared at the circuitry. "Weird...come on, some got past to the others," Ari told Xander, and he tossed the arm aside before they ran after the three. Seeing them fighting off more of the robots, they joined the fight.
"Wait, what?" Connor noticed the pair when Ari darted past, cutting through one that was sneaking up behind him.
"Later Connor, we've kinda got stuff to do here!" she pointed out, and Connor darted out of the way of more of the robots, using his super-speed.
"It's a robot!" Ethan realised when he took down one with his armour. The others joined him as they finished off the last of them, and Ethan lifted the broken leg. "Check out the crazy circuitry, it's way advanced," Ethan gushed with excitement. The five were then blasted off their feet.
"Fools!" they looked up as the bat walked towards them. "Did you think you could get away from me that easily?" he laughed.
"We've run away from a lot worse than you buddy," Ethan told him, making the others look around at him sharply. "Oh, that did not come out right at all," he realised, looking a little horrified at his words.
"Who are you? What do you want from us?" Kira demanded from the bat.
"Your power is legendary throughout the galaxies!" he declared as he was joined by more of the robots. "Fight alongside me, and we'll bring down this wretched planet!" he announced.
"Maybe you're suffering a lack of oxygen from being in that punch bowl too long, but in case you didn't notice, we're the good guys," Connor pointed out as the bat gasped a little.
"Yeah, we're not exactly about destroying our own planet," Kira rolled her eyes.
"Oh, I think you'll come around to my way of thinking, with a little persuasion," he walked towards them, and both Ari and Xander raised their weapons.
"You really don't want to try that," Ari warned him, making him laugh a little.
"You think you can beat me?" the bat asked mockingly. "You're still children, you have no hope!" he mocked, and glanced at Connor as he groaned.
"You really shouldn't have said that," he told the bat, who barely had time to block Ari's swords as they slashed down at him.
"Still has issues about being called a kid I see," Ethan commented as they watched Ari take on the evil creature. Xander ran to join her when the bat knocked her backwards, catching her and pushing her back up before they went on the offensive.
"Enough!" Broodwing blasted the pair, throwing them to the ground and breaking their morph.
"Oh, he is pretty powerful," Ari groaned as she got back to her feet.
"Uh, now what?" Xander asked.
"Legend mode?" Ari suggested as the others ran over to them. Before they could morph again, however, sirens started to blare, making them all look around.
"What?" the bat demanded as a jeep pulled up, alongside two bikes. Five people in different coloured uniforms ran at the robots that rushed them, and easily took them out.
"Back off Broodwing!" the one in red yelled as they regrouped, having taken out all of the robots.
"Yeah, fly back to where you came from!" the yellow one shouted.
"SPD, always in my way!" the bat growled furiously. "I'm not through with any of you!" he warned as he flew off.
"Nice. Wonder if he's any relation to Necrolai," Ari rolled her eyes as she rubbed her shoulder.
"Are you guys ok?" the girl in yellow asked them as they ran over.
"A little confused, but ok," Connor nodded.
"Broodwing is bad news," the guy in blue frowned. "But attacking innocent civilians, that's just low," he shook his head, seeming a little confused.
"You've fought this freak before?" Connor asked with a frown.
"Oh yeah, all in a day's work," the guy in red nodded. "We're Power Rangers, Space Patrol Delta," he held out a strange device that opened to provide an ID.
"Wait a minute, you can't be the Power Rangers," Kira told them, shaking her head.
"Why not?" the girl in yellow asked, frowning back at them.
"Because we are," Ari spoke up, and the group only seemed to look at their faces then and there.
"Oh, wow," the girl in pink gasped as the five looked alarmed.
1-2-3-4-5
"Wait, so let me see if I've got this straight. Somehow we've been transported years into the future?" Ethan summed up what the five Rangers had told them.
"And this is a state of the art command centre that trains elite fighters to become Power Rangers," Kira continued for the amazed ex-Blue Ranger.
"And Earth is under attack by an army of aliens and giant robots?" Connor finished for them.
"Yep, that's about it," Syd, the Pink Ranger, nodded with a smile.
"Aliens again," Ari rolled her eyes.
"Better than an army of monsters from the Underworld," Xander shrugged.
"I seriously can't believe you're both Rangers," Ethan shook his head at the pair. "You for a third time," Ari just smiled innocently.
"Well, it's good to know there'll still be beautiful girls in the future," Connor smiled at Syd, and she laughed as Ethan rolled his eyes.
"Would you give it a rest?" he sighed. "We gotta keep focused here," he scolded his friend, who grinned widely at him. They walked into the command centre, and looked around in awe. "Ok, I'm not complaining, but our command centre was a cave," Ethan frowned.
"I'm complaining, we got a hollow tree," Xander spoke up, making Ari giggle.
"Where are Annie and Spencer?" Sky asked as he looked around the command centre for the two members of their team. "Maybe we should keep Spencer out for now," he said to Jack as the Red Ranger shrugged. Connor nudged his friends, indicating to a large blue dog and a woman with cat-like features.
"Hey guys, it's ok," Jack noticed their sudden defence, and laughed. "That's our Commander, Anubis Kruger," the dog bowed at them. "And our lovely technical expert, Doctor Kat Manx," Jack introduced the feline.
"Welcome to our base Rangers," Kruger spoke loudly.
"But he's a dog...sort of..." Kira whispered to Bridge.
"That's our authority figures, you'll get used to it," he smiled at her. More aliens walked past, startling the group.
"Aliens and humans live in harmony here," Kat explained with a smile.
"Well, for the most part," Sky spoke up from one of the computers. "Broodwing is after them," he called over to Kat and the Commander.
"I can see why," Kat replied as she brought up footage of the Dino Thunder Rangers. "The archives show the Dino Thunder team have faced off against some of the most treacherous villains in history," they all watched the footage.
"Ah, memories," Connor smiled, feeling nostalgic.
"Hear that? Most treacherous villains in history," Ari smirked triumphantly, poking Xander.
"Oh, you'd prefer sticking to that team?" Xander raised an eyebrow, and grabbed Ari's morpher. "You won't need this then!" he held it in the air as she cried out.
"No! Gimme back my wand!" she jumped for it, but he moved it just out of her reach, smirking at her as Ari tried to get her morpher back. "Give it! Come on!" she whined as she kept jumping for her morpher.
"Oh good, mayhem" they stopped as another voice spoke up, sounding a little irritated.
"It doesn't sound like it was A-Squad out – whoa," they all looked around at the two who had just walked in. "You couldn't have given a heads up?" Annie demanded.
"If you'd been in the command centre maybe we could have," Sky shot back, but the five were too busy staring at the young man who bore a resemblance to Xander, except for the bright green eyes and the stunned look that belonged entirely to Ari.
"Dude...no way..." Connor breathed as he and Ethan exchanged shocked looks, and looked at Ari and Xander. Kira was trying her best not to laugh.
"Well...I suppose that explains why the bat found it interesting that you were brought along," after a moment, Ari glanced to Xander.
"And why these guys were a bit more surprised when they saw us," he nodded in agreement.
"Wait, no freak out?" Ethan frowned at the pair. "You're looking at your future kid!" he exclaimed, waving his arms. The two were going slightly red, but other than that, seemed to be completely calm.
"Think about it guys," Kira laughed.
"Oh!" Ethan finally realised, his jaw dropping open. "Oh, no way! Really?" he started to laugh.
"What? What's so funny?" Connor asked, not understanding what was going on.
"Huh. He really did take the dumb jock thing to a whole new level," Annie muttered to Spencer as they watched the conversation unfold. Hearing them, Ari disguised her laughter as a cough, and Connor scowled at her.
"You wanna go easy on him?" Xander smirked.
"Where's the fun in that?" Ari teased, taking her morpher back from him as he held it out. She then hit him with it before returning it to its pouch. "Touch my morpher again and I'll turn you back into a tree," the Gold Ranger warned, and he went red.
"It was one time!" Xander complained.
"This is really weird," Spencer removed his glasses to pinch the bridge of his nose.
"What is? Seeing your parents when they're...what, 18, 19?" Annie couldn't help but laugh now that her shock had faded.
"I got over that. What's weirder is that they are still exactly the same," Spencer shook his head, watching them. "When they're together, especially in serious situations, they behave like they're five years old," he told Annie, who just laughed, nodding in agreement.
"Dude, you really don't see it?" Ethan indicated to Ari and Xander, deciding to give Connor a little help.
"What?" Connor looked at the pair. "Oh, you mean that they're dating?" his four friends then looked at him sharply. All of them looked surprised that he had known the entire time. "Please, I could tell the minute I saw them at Reefside High," the ex-Red Ranger scoffed.
"Well, he is the Casanova of Reefside," Kira laughed.
"Probably still doesn't know who that is," Ari whispered, and both giggled as Connor glared at them.
"Alright, when you're all quite done with your fascinating conversation," Sky rolled his eyes. "Maybe we could get back onto the matter at hand, like how Broodwing brought you here?" he suggested.
"I like that idea," Ari grinned.
"It's a little fuzzy, but we were on our way to the reunion at Reefside High," Kira explained.
"I'm sure Broodwing went to a lot of expense to bring you here," Kruger spoke up. "He won't give up on you so easily," he warned them.
"We'll take him on and anyone else that gives us trouble," Connor spoke confidently, ready to take on the bat. The other four nodded.
"You haven't met Broodwing's boss," Z told them, not seeming convinced.
"Are you trying to compare bad guys?" Ari frowned at her. "Cause that's pointless. A bad guy is a bad guy. We know how to defend ourselves," she told the Yellow Ranger, who scoffed.
"Grumm is as nasty as they get. You have no idea who you're dealing with," she told Ari, who bristled.
"Z..." Spencer sighed, shaking his head.
"Maybe you should have spent a little less time reading the handbook, and a little more time checking out the files on past Rangers," Annie commented to her. "If there's one person you don't underestimate, it's Ari," Z still didn't look convinced as she looked at Ari.
"Or the rest of us. I say bring it on," Kira shrugged, and the others nodded. "We're Rangers, we can deal with it," she spoke with equal confidence to Connor.
"Correction, you were Rangers," Sky told her coldly. "We've been specially trained to take on Grumm's army," he stated as the five frowned at the SPD Rangers.
"And no offence, but fighting dinosaurs is so over," Syd smiled, but it seemed a little patronising.
"You've got to be kidding me," Ari started to laugh. "Really? You know all about us, you have footage of us, and you still treat us like we're a bunch of helpless kids?" she asked them, disbelief in her voice. "Yeah, you've been specially trained to take on this Grumm guy and his army, big freaking deal," everyone was staring at the Gold Ranger. "We're all Rangers, we're all equal. Why don't you try fighting one of those dinosaurs, and then we'll talk," she told Syd, who looked a little startled.
"We may not have power, but we're still the Power Rangers," Connor spoke up.
"You're completely right," Spencer nodded in agreement, cleaning his glasses on his jacket.
"Spencer?" Z frowned at him.
"They are," he looked up at her as he returned his glasses to their perch on his nose. "We have no right to treat them like they're helpless victims at Broodwing's mercy. But at the same time, we can't have you risking yourselves fighting our enemies. Not because I don't think you can't handle them, but on the off-chance that something does happen," Spencer explained to the five.
"We can't risk you guys getting yourselves hurt in our time. It could completely rewrite history," Annie spoke up as she stood beside Spencer, clapping a hand on his shoulder. "If something happened to either of you, I wouldn't have my best friend here. Hell, I'd probably not be here either," she mused.
"There probably wouldn't be a here for you to be at," Bridge commented. "There wouldn't be a here for any of us to be...here would be somewhere different," he rambled, and Annie laughed as the other SPD Rangers rolled their eyes.
"Look, we just don't want you to get into any more trouble. We have enough problems to deal with," Jack shook his head, and as if on cue, the alarms went off, flashing red all around them.
"The quarry is under attack," Kat announced as the SPD Rangers gathered around the computers.
"The quarry? Man, those places really are monster beacons," Ari rolled her eyes, still irritated.
"My hunch is that Broodwing is trying to draw you out," Kruger told the five who were out of their time.
"Just because we're not Rangers any more, doesn't mean we can't fight!" Connor shouted at them. All five were getting more and more irritated at the way they were being treated.
"And we are Rangers," Xander spoke up with a nod.
"Ok, you guys chill until we get back," Jack ignored what they were saying. "Ready?" he called as he grabbed his morpher.
"Ready!"
"SPD, EMERGENCY!" they morphed and took off towards the quarry, where the monster was waiting for them.
1-2-3-4-5
Leaping from their vehicle, the seven Rangers landed on top of a crane and faced the snarling monster below.
"S.W.A.T Mode!" Jack called, and they summoned their powerful gear.
"Delta Enforcers!" the seven grabbed their weapons, and leapt down, avoiding the attack from the monster. They blasted it, easily overwhelming him at first, before Jack got too close, and was thrown backwards.
"You ok Jack?" Sky called as they regrouped.
"Yeah," Jack nodded as he leapt back up. "Now all together!" they fired blasts at the monster, and he was thrown backwards before he tunnelled underground.
"Oh great, where'd he go?" Annie frowned as they ran over to the hole and looked down.
"Let's get back to the base and see if Kat can run a trace on that thing," Jack told his team, and they nodded. However, as they turned around, they all froze in horror. "Uh oh," the Red Ranger gulped as they stared up at the large gathering of robots that stood on higher ground.
"Well, that's not good," Spencer commented as he tried to count just how many were there.
"Looks like Grumm's bot factory has been working overtime," Jack spoke as the robots leapt down, and the two sides began to fight.
1-1-1-1-1
"I could be wrong, but they look like they're in a lot of trouble," Kira spoke as they watched the fight take place on the computer screen.
"They've never encountered this many troops at once," Kruger told them gravely.
"You've gotta let us in on this!" Connor pleaded with him.
"Or at least us, we still have powers!" Ari gestured to herself and Xander.
"No!" Kruger snapped at them. "I won't put your lives in danger. If anything happened to you in this time, the results could be catastrophic!" he growled.
"Yeah, but if your cadets lose, none of that matters anyway!" Connor argued. Kruger didn't respond, instead looking at the computer screen as it changed to reveal the monster as it dug itself out in the centre of town, only much, much bigger.
"I see some things never change," Ethan sighed.
"Oh, I wish we had our Megazord," Kira groaned.
"Reckon your Titan is bigger than that?" Ari glanced to Xander.
"I've yet to fight a monster bigger," he replied, smirking proudly.
"Kat, dispatch Omega Ranger to the scene," Kruger ordered, ignoring them and looking at the technical expert. "This is not your battle," he glanced at them, before stepping down from his chair. "I'm going to help the others. You are to stay here, that is an order," he told them firmly as they went to argue. Kruger then lifted his morpher as he stood in the middle of the command centre. "SPD, EMERGENCY! SPD SHADOW!" he morphed, and headed off as Sam sped off in his Zord to take on the monster in town.
"You know, he reminds me a lot of Daggeron," Ari commented as she put a hand on her hip.
"Me too," Xander nodded in agreement. "Probably the barking orders bit," he muttered, and Ari elbowed him.
1-1-1-1-1
Completely swarmed by the mass of Krybots, Blue-Heads and Orange-Heads that attacked them, each of the Rangers was having a hard time trying to fight back. Spencer blasted another Blue-Head, only for an Orange-Head to knock his blaster from his hands. However, instead of scrambling after it, the Gold Ranger let out a small laugh.
"You're going to regret that," light flickered in his hands, and he summoned energy-balls, letting them fly at the robots that ran at him. He then turned and conjured a shield, knocking two backwards, before a Krybot caught him from behind and swept his feet from under him.
"Come on!" Annie dodged another and blasted one, but a Krybot hit her blaster, causing her to miss her target. She let out a cry as she was hit across her chest, and was knocked to the ground. Kruger soon joined them, but was instantly blasted off his ATV.
"Commander, are you alright?" Jack called as the Rangers ran over to him, helping the Shadow Ranger up.
"Yes, but we got trouble," Kruger replied, looking up as Grumm skidded to a stop on his bike, and Morgana stood beside him in her battle suit, smirking.
"I couldn't let my soldiers have all the fun," Grumm told them as he climbed off and walked towards them.
"We want to play too," Morgana spoke as she walked up beside him.
"Let's play," the Shadow Ranger growled.
"Kruger, you and your precious SPD have stood in my way long enough!" Grumm declared as his robots stood with him. "It ends now!" he roared as he fired a blast that knocked the group off their feet.
1-1-1-1-1
"Let me guess, that's Grumm?" Ethan asked as they watched the footage.
"This is serious," Kat turned to them, looking terrified.
"That's it," Connor growled. "I say it's time to get prehistoric on Grumm and his goons!" he declared.
"Kruger ordered us to stay here," Kira reminded the ex-Red Ranger, stopping him for going off.
"Huh..." Ari folded her arms, a smile starting to spread across her face. "He did order us, didn't he?" she glanced to her friends, and Ethan, Connor and Xander grinned as Kira groaned.
"You've never been good with following orders," Xander nodded, and Ari shrugged.
"Besides, who cares what happens in the past or the future? The others need us now," Connor growled.
"He's right," Kira nodded in agreement.
"Let's do it," Ethan spoke as they turned to leave.
"If you're gonna go out there..." they stopped and looked around as Kat spoke up. " At least go prepared," looking hesitant, Kat then held out her hand. "Gimme your Dino Gems. I can pull your morphers from the archives," she told them, and the three passed them over as Ari played with hers in her hand.
"But there's no power left in them, we used it up in the final battle against Mesogog," Ethan remembered.
"I think Xander and I can help there," Ari smiled at them, holding up her morpher.
1-2-3-4-5
The SPD Rangers were slowly being overwhelmed by the onslaught of robots, and Grumm was easily overpowering Kruger. Hitting the ground hard after taking hits from two Orange-Heads at once, Spencer groaned, and was joined shortly after by Annie. Both of their suits shattered, leaving them defenceless. Even after Jack had called on his Battilizer, he was overpowered and forced to demorph.
"There's just too many of them for us to take on," Annie moaned as she rolled onto her side, clutching at her stomach.
"At last! No more Power Rangers!" Grumm laughed from his bike as the Rangers stood together, breathing heavily. Hearing footsteps, everyone looked over as Connor, Kira, Ethan, Ari and Xander ran towards them.
"Think again bone-head!" Connor shouted to Grumm.
"What?!" Grumm snarled as the SPD Rangers walked over.
"This is not a good idea," Jack warned them.
"Get outta here!" Z pleaded.
"You have no idea how much power Grumm has," Sky told them.
"We brought a little power of our own," Connor grinned. He, Kira and Ethan held up their wrists, revealing their morphers.
"Kat's the coolest, she pulled our morphers out of the archives," Ethan explained.
"We were the ones who regenerated them," Xander pointed out. The SPD Rangers stared at them in surprise.
"Don't get mad at us Commander, you would have done the same thing," Kira pointed out.
"And hey, you gave us an order," Ari smiled innocently.
"An order...I'm amazed she didn't show up sooner," Spencer groaned, slapping a hand to his face.
"I'm surprised that there's not just a bold line in your file that says 'can't follow orders'," Xander commented to Ari, giggled, trying to look innocent and failing.
"You have a point. Now let's show Grumm what we can do together!" Kruger nodded. "Power Rangers, suit up!" he called, and they lined up.
"Power Rangers, you guys ready?" Jack called as Grumm growled, wary of them.
"Ready!"
"DINO THUNDER, POWER UP, HA!"
"SPD, EMERGENCY!"
"LEGENDARY SOURCE, MYSTIC FORCE!" the three groups morphed, and Grumm attacked, narrowly missing them and causing the ground to explode behind them.
"SUPER DINO MODE!"
"SWAT MODE!" the Dino Thunder and SPD Rangers called on their enhanced powers as well.
"Attack!" Grumm roared, and the robots charged forwards.
"Ok everybody, let's give this everything we've got! Together, we can do it!" Jack yelled to the large group of Rangers. Everyone yelled in agreement, and launched themselves at the robots.
"Code one, Sunbeam!" Ari spun a golden circle in front of her as the robots charged at her. She slammed her staff down on it, and bright sunlight shone out and bathed her opponents. After a moment, they began to spasm and fell to the ground as they continued to twitch and spark, their circuits completely fried.
"Whoa...I never really knew how powerful your Legend Warrior Mode was," Spencer commented as he stood beside her, staring in awe at the robots.
"And this is why you should have let us come along in the first place," Ari replied as she spun her staff and took out more Orange-Heads that rushed at them. A couple of energy-balls flew past her, and caught the last around them, and she glanced around at the other Gold Ranger.
"Well I was trying to ensure my survival, you know?" Spencer pointed out, holding his Delta Enforcer in one hand.
"You got my Dino Powers!" Ari smiled brightly under her helmet.
"And more," Annie laughed as she ran past, taking out another Orange-Head as Ari frowned.
"Annie, come on, she doesn't know about that yet!" Spencer complained as he followed his best friend to take on more. Ari tilted her head as she watched the pair fight. Spencer clearly had trained as a Sun Ninja, as his moves were very similar to Ari's herself, whereas Annie fought in another style that she recognised instantly as the style of a Thunder Ninja.
"Code one, Rock Slide!" several small boulders flew past the Gold Ranger and slammed into the robots approaching. "Don't space out now," Xander tapped her gently on the head as he stood beside her.
"I think Annie is Hunter's daughter," Ari commented to him as she tossed an energy-ball at the remaining Blue-Head.
"What? Really?" Xander looked over quickly to the Silver Ranger as she blasted a Krybot rushing at Spencer from behind.
"And Spencer watches his back as well as you do," Ari added as she turned and slammed her staff into the Blue-Head that was sneaking up behind Xander. The Green Ranger went red as Ari laughed, and the two continued to fight off the hoard of robots that was slowly dropping in numbers. Nearby, Grumm was overwhelmed by Kruger, along with Jack and Connor.
"Good job Rangers!" the Sirian called as they all ran over to Connor and Jack. "We'll take it from here! Omega Ranger needs your help!" he told the SPD Rangers.
"You got it!" Jack nodded. "Let's go B-Squad!" he called to his team, and they ran off to help Sam, who was being overwhelmed by the monster.
1-1-1-1-1
"This guy is a lot tougher than he looks!" Sam cried out as the monster laughed, having pinned him to the ground with his foot. Blasts then struck the monster, knocking him back as the Rangers arrived in their Megazord.
"You ok?" Sky called to him.
"Yeah, but I'm glad to see you!" Sam admitted as he pushed his Zord back up.
"Let's double-team this freak!" Jack called, and they combined their Zords, easily deflecting the monster's attacks before rushing at him. They pummelled him with attack after attack, and knocked him flying through the air. As he crashed back down to Earth, he exploded, destroyed.
"Well, that was fun!" Annie laughed.
1-1-1-1-1
The Rangers who remained fighting Grumm and his robots easily took out the last of the robots, and Grumm let out a snarl as he faced the Shadow Ranger.
"Kruger! Using Rangers from the past may have won this battle, but I have a surprise of my own in store!" he promised the Sirian.
"Come on!" Kruger challenged.
"Let's put 'em together!" Connor called, and he, Kira and Ethan combined their weapons. "Z-Rex Blaster!"
"Code two!" Ari and Xander held their staffs together, and green and gold light gathered where they met.
"Do it!" Kruger yelled.
"Fire!" the two attacks slammed into Grumm, and blasted him off his feet. The dirt blew up around him, and Grumm's laughter rang out as the dirt faded to reveal that he had disappeared.
"Yes! We sent him running!" Kruger breathed, relieved. "Gather round Rangers!" the Commander called as the SPD Rangers returned with Sam. "Conner, Jack, Kira, Z, Ethan, Sky, Ari, Syd, Xander, Bridge, Annie, Spencer and Sam, that was great teamwork," he told them all proudly.

"I still think you guys need us to help deal with Grumm," Ethan shrugged as they all stood in the command centre again, all worn out after a tough battle. "He's gonna be madder than ever," he pointed out.
"Yeah, and what about Broodwing?" Kira pointed out. "He's still flapping around somewhere," she reminded them.
"It's obvious we should stay," Connor agreed with the two. "We work great together," he smiled at Syd in particular. The others rolled their eyes as Syd laughed.
"Nice try, but I don't date older guys," she smiled at him, and Jack 'oohed' behind her as the other SPD Rangers hid their own laughter.
"They've got it handled," Ari shrugged to her former team-mates. "We were a lot less prepared and we did perfectly fine on our own," she reminded them with a smile.
"We did have Doctor O helping us," Ethan commented, but Ari just shrugged again.
"We appreciate your offer to stay Rangers, but that's not possible," Kruger told them.
"Besides Kira, if you don't get back, you'll never start your recording career," Syd looked to the ex-Yellow Ranger. Kira's eyes widened.
"My recording career?" she repeated.
"Of course! You become a huge singing sensation!" Syd nodded, her smile growing. "I grew up listening to your songs," she told Kira, who smiled brightly with excitement.
"So did Annie, she was a right fangirl-ow!" Spencer yelped as Annie slapped the back of his head, going bright red. The Gold Ranger ducked forwards, rubbing the back of his head as he moved away from her. Ari bit her lip to hide her grin, recognising his movements all too well. And judging from Kira's smirk, so did she.
"You deserved that," Z told him with a grin.
"Oh shut up," Spencer grumbled.
"And everyone knows about the Connor McKnight Soccer Camps," Sky looked to the Red Ranger, who looked startled as the other SPD Rangers nodded in agreement. "They're all over the country," he told Connor, who smiled.
"For real? Wow!" he breathed.
"Ethan, you have to go back!" Bridge spoke up as he looked at the ex-Blue Ranger. "You develop some of the software we still use at SPD," Bridge gestured around the command centre, and Ethan looked around quickly.
"You mean I'm a genius? Sweet!" he laughed as his friends grinned, unsurprised by this.
"And you two, well, it goes without saying," Annie glanced to Ari and Xander in amusement. "You've got to go and deal with the Master in Briarwood," she told them. "Your stories about your time as the Mystic Force Rangers were some of my favourites when I was growing up," the Silver Ranger said to them. "I think I kind of annoyed my parents, always asking to hear your stories instead of theirs," she laughed. Ari grinned back. Another way to annoy Hunter.
"Her favourite was the one about dad getting turned into a tree," Spencer smirked, and Xander went red as Ari started to laugh.
"Oh shut up, it was not!" Annie rolled her eyes. "My dad nearly killed you when you told me about how you got your Legend powers, it gave me nightmares for weeks," she said, and Xander found that she was speaking to him, rather than Ari. That was going to be fun to deal with. The Gold Ranger seemed to notice too, as she tried to disguise her laughter as a cough.
"Plus there's your upcoming contract with that Hartford guy's skateboarding company," Spencer commented, and Ari looked at him quickly.
"Hartford? You mean that crazy rich dude who owns like, everything?" she asked, and Spencer nodded. Ari let out a cheer, and Spencer shook his head a little at her antics. "That's gonna be awesome! Finally I get to prove my dad wrong. That's gonna be almost as great as when I proved Cam wrong," Ari laughed.
"You proved Cam wrong?" Ethan looked at her quickly.
"Told you it was a big deal," Ari glanced to Xander, who rolled his eyes good-naturedly.
"Your lives as Rangers have made a difference, but you all go on to lead exciting and significant lives, after you hang up your helmets," Kruger told them.
"I think we're ready to go back Commander," Connor told him as they all grinned widely.
"Your courage and dedication will live on in Ranger Legend," Kruger told them. "Thank you all," the other Rangers smiled.
"Goodbye Rangers. Your memory of us will be erased, but we won't forget you. Thank you," Kat smiled as she activated the system. There was a bright flash, and when it faded, the five were gone.
2006, Reefside High
Reappearing exactly where they had been before they had gone, the five stumbled a little. All of them stood at the top of the stairway, confused and disorientated.
"Do you think Doctor Oliver's in there?" Kira broke their silence after a moment.
"Come on!" Connor grinned, and the five hurried down to the reunion, unaware of the adventure they had just had.
Spencer and Annie will return in SPD: A New Sun Warrior!
It was fun writing about the Dino Rangers again as well. While this episode kinda annoys me for how the SPD Rangers treat them, it's still a decent crossover.
Anyways, hope you enjoyed!
