Island Assault Arc
Orion wiped the dust from his mouth, staring up at Nione and Abigail. His arm braces were blown off in the explosion and he tore off his tunic and threw it onto the ground to reveal that he was completely covered in his stone dragon scales.
"So which one of you lovely ladies want to go first?" Orion taunted.
Nione then whispered into Abigail's ear. "Let's not drag this out any longer. I'll battle and you ready the spell for instant death."
"I understand." Abigail said.
Nione turned back to Orion. "I'll finish you off, you pathetic reptile."
"Perfect!" Orion said. He squat down with his knee on the ground and the earth started to shake. "Earth Dragon..." He then shot up like a cannonball at high speed. "Burst!"
Nione prepared to knock Orion away, but he completely went past Nione and instead attacked Abigail. Orion's full force tackled Abigail and flew through the town before reaching the docks and smashing her into one of the docks there. The broken wood went flying everywhere. Orion dragged her across the floor of the ship.
"Earth Dragon Seismic Throw!" He used the force of earth to throw Abigail into the air, through the decks of the ship.
When she was high up, Orion managed to jump up above her and his fist began to look like a giant rock.
"Earth Dragon Stone Fist!" He took that big rock fist and smashed it into her gut, slamming her back down through the ship causing holes in the hull and having her land on the shallow aquatic floor of the harbor.
A coffin quickly rose and took Abigail away. The coffin in the town square opened up, freeing Abigail and the water sucked in with her. Nione wanted to hurry to her companion's side, but she was surprised to see that Orion had gotten there first and had his foot raised above Abigail's head, ready to smash it.
"Are you ready to fight me one-on-one now without using any instant death magic?" Orion asked.
"How did you know that was our plan?" Nione asked.
"A variety of things." Orion answered. "You both did not attack me at the same time; that was really stupid of you. You only keep one half of your team back if you want to use them later. I could smell your devious nature, but most importantly, I just heard it. You whisper really loud."
"Fine. I'll just give you a fair fight."
Orion lifted his foot off Abigail's head. "Please, the way you cast your magic shows you know nothing of a fair fight."
Tanya was now sitting on a bench resting herself up as she heard Orion battle Nione. Finally, the Rune Knights and Raldanian soldiers arrive and were trying to organize themselves. Lt. Rizzo then came up to Tanya.
"Shouldn't you be helping your General in this fight?" Lt. Rizzo asked.
"He just donned his dragon scales." Tanya replied. "He would be insulted if I went off to help him now. Speaking of which, you better tell your Rune Knights not to get involved in that fight, too."
"Ah, well, looks like I can't show off and be a hero now." Lt. Rizzo nodded his head.
Tanya glared at him. "You're a smug asshole. And don't you have a friend who's buried alive somewhere?"
"... Oh my God! Frank!" Lt. Rizzo ran out holding a shovel into the air. "Don't worry, buddy! I didn't forget about you! I'm digging you out right now!"
Tanya turned her attention back to the battle and watched in awe of the Dragon Slayer.
"Fire Trail!" Asharu dug his sword into the ground and a trail of fire headed toward Wisteria.
Wisteria, with her two blades, cut the flames down and right behind the flames Asharu charged in and slashed his sword at her which she blocked, pushed him back and swung her other sword at him. Asharu requipped with his Écriture staff with the center jewel blazing like the sun.
"Sun Écriture: Engulf!"
The entire sword that the staff was defending against was completely covered in flames. The flames were even surrounding Wisteria's hand, burning it.
"Disruptor Sword: Seal Break!"
The sword guarding against the Disruptor Sword attack had all its magic dissipate and the sword shattered. Asharu went in for a stab, but Wisteria jumped back, still clutching the sword that was on fire in her hand.
"You know if you hold onto that sword your hand's going to burn off." Asharu said.
Wisteria replied by gripping her sword with her other hand and that caught on fire as well. She then made an attack stance by turning her sword to the side.
"This is a sword of light." Wisteria said. "One slash of this sword will kill you instantly."
"But is killing me really worth losing both of your hands?" Asharu asked. "I mean, I have such a charming personality, the world will be lesser if I'm not in it." Asharu made a suave pose, removed his helmet, flipped his hair back and sparkled in the sunlight with a charming smile.
"... Die." She then charged forward with her sword.
Asharu wasn't ready, so he had to block the first strike with his helmet. Wisteria easily knocked that away with her elbow, then she cut right through Asharu with her sword.
"Rest in peace." Wisteria muttered.
"Not today." Asharu pulled on the back of her hair, took his elbow, smacked down on her neck with it into the ground and put her in a headlock. "Check the warranty on that sword of light of yours. It was covered in fire. Fire just bounces off my Sun Armor. Your blade never touched me."
Wisteria tried to struggle, but Asharu kept her locked down.
"GET OFF ME!" Wisteria screamed at the top of her lungs.
"What's the magic word?" Asharu asked.
"SCREW YOU!"
"Ooh, so close, you were just one word off."
"Okay, Asharu, we got Rave to a safe place." Lenalle's voice spoke. "We're here to hel-"
Lenalle came around the corner followed by Kisha, Angel and Lt. Voask. They saw Asharu in his awkward positioning with Wisteria.
"What are you two doing?" Kisha asked, glaring at them.
"Um, Asharu, this is no time to be getting frisky." Lenalle said.
"I'M NOT! I'M JUST KEEPING HER DOWN!" Asharu yelled.
"Taking advantage of a young, smaller girl..." Lt. Voask said. "That's shameful."
"Oh, screw you!" Asharu shouted. "You're the dick that tried to shut down my guild!"
Angel scribbled her finger against the wall with her head down and a mopey atmosphere around her. "Ash, be honest... Her boobs aren't bigger than mine, are they?"
"THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT?!" Kisha questioned.
"It's the only advantage I have! T_T" Angel cried.
"GET OOOOOOOOFF!" Wisteria continued screaming.
Suddenly, a vortex surrounded the entire area as wind began to pick up. The entire building they were in was suddenly covered by a large tornado.
"What the hel-Hey!" Asharu shouted.
The wind actually pulled him off Wisteria and began to lift him up into the air. Voask tossed him a magical rope that Asharu grabbed onto. In his other hand, he wrapped the other rope around a steel bar rooted deeply into the ground.
"HANG ONTO THE ROPE!" Voask yelled.
The girls all grabbed onto the rope as the winds begin to move around faster and faster, picking up debris and moving around faster. Once she had them secure, Voask began to cast a spell.
"Rune Knight Advanced Sealing Spell: Ten Point Break!"
Voask's spell actually overlapped the magical seal that generated the twister and after a moment of brightly glowing, Voask's own spell fizzled out and dissipated.
"No! Impossible!" Voask said. "That is the most advanced seal break spell I know! Her magic power must be near limitless to overpower it!"
The girls hanging up in the air started to lift up off the ground and try to pull them off the magical rope.
"IT'S TOO STRONG!" Angel shouted.
"I'M SLIPPING!" Lenalle shouted.
A piece of the broken wall from the building smacked into the steel beam the rope was attached to, loosening it from its foundation. The shock of the attack caused Kisha to let go of the rope and send her flying into the tornado. Asharu saw her, let go of the rope he was holding onto and he angled himself so he would fly right in the path of Kisha, intercept her and caught her in his arms.
"Oh, thanks Asharu." Kisha sighed with relief. "Are you okay?"
"This... This wind's messing up my hair!" Asharu shouted.
Kisha uppercut Asharu. "Wrong! You're supposed to say 'Me?! I'm more worried about you!' and then I go 'Oh, Asharu, you do care about me!' and then we stare into each other's eyes lovingly, but you can't even do THAT right!" Kisha waited for her response, but realized that her uppercut knocked Asharu out. "Oops, too hard."
Rave opened up her eyes and noticed that she was lying down on the floor with a blanket over her, and looking over her was Master Goldmine in a creepy manner.
"Hey, good, you're awake." Goldmine said.
"PERVERT ALERT!" Rave punched the ground, a rock appeared under Goldmine and sent him flying back. "I NEED AN ADULT! I NEED AN ADULT!"
"Honey, calm down, it's all right." Mater Bob placed his hand on her shoulder.
"AAAAHH!" Rave screamed again. "I NEED AN ADULT!"
"Rave, please don't scream." Looking right next to her, Aurora was lying down seemingly exhausted. "These are just the Guild Masters. Lenalle brought you here when you were out of energy."
Rave quickly leaned over Aurora. "Miss Aurora, what happened to you?"
"Don't worry about me." Aurora said. "I just used a bit too much magic energy to fix everything."
"At least you're both all right now." Makarov said. Then he looked off at the tornado. "Can't say the same for Asharu and them."
"They're inside that thing?!" Rave asked, seeing the tornado. "We got to go-Ah!"
"You're not going anywhere, kiddo." Makarov said.
"The hell I'm not!" Rave shouted. "My brother's in there!"
"You're too injured to do anything." Makarov stated.
"Then what about you?" Rave questioned. "You're a bunch of Guild Masters! Shouldn't YOU be able to stop this?"
"As Guild Masters, we have a responsibility to develop our younger wizards. Either punishment at ignorance, reward by success, or education through necessity, we must do what we can to further them as a wizard and as a person. That also includes knowing when to stay on the sidelines and let them fight on. Even though it seems bleak, I must have faith in all that Asharu was taught and that he can pull through this. He'll never be able to leave the shadows of his predecessors if he doesn't."
Rave got to her feet and began to limp forward. "Well I know only one thing." she remarked. "You never taught me a DAMN thing! So I am going to go into that thing and save my brother and friends!"
Makarov nodded. "Alright then. I'm glad to see that you are so determined."
Rave grinned and continued to go forward.
"But uh..." Makarov started. "...You might want to pull up your strap a little..."
Rave looked down at her night shirt an saw that the strap had fallen down her arm somewhat, meaning her collar had fallen, possibly revealing much of her bare body. In her embarrassment Rave quickly pulled her shirt back up to cover herself.
"BUNCH OF DIRTY OLD PERVERTS ALL OF YOOOOOOOOOU!"
A large rock smacked into Makarov's forehead and Rave hurried toward the Tornado.
Orion was trying to claw at Nione's face, but her scarf kept deflecting his claws. His fists turned into giant rocks.
"Earth Dragon Stone Fist!"
Before he slammed his hand down, the scarf wrapped itself around Orion's arm and it kept both hands held up.
"Is brute force the only way you fight?" Nione asked.
"No." Orion answered. "I think, plan, adapt, then strike. Like so."
He pulled himself upward toward his arms and kicked Nione in the face. The stones around his fists crumbled, swung his wrists and grabbed onto the scarf. He pulled on it tightly, snaring the scarf around Nione's neck hard.
"LET, kh, GO OF, kh, MY SCARF!" Nione choked.
She pulled out a knife and stabbed Orion in his side. Though the attack seemed to have no attack Nione stabbed him repeatedly.
"Come on I know you can do better than that!" Orion mocked. Looking into her eyes he saw Indignation and Resolution, but also all the fear and anger. "This scarf must mean a lot to you. I think I know which trophy I'm going to take off your hands."
"Scarf magic: Ensnare."
Ninoes scarf began to grow longer. The wrapping around Orion's hands began to bind together. The scarf continued to wrap around Orion's body, trapping him in place. The Scarf began glowing as it began to drain the magic from Orion's body. Feeling his body get more tight by the ensnarement, Orion stomped his free foot onto the ground and created a large sink hole right underneath him, which he fell into. The heavy nature of Orion's body pulled Nione with him, making her fall forward onto the ground and be dragged to the edge of the sinkhole. Her scarf released Orion, causing him to fall to the bottom of the sinkhole. Orion used his burst to charge up at Nione, but she rolled to her side causing Orion's momentum to miss her and him landing on the ground, uprooting the cement and stone under his feet.
"Poison Magic: Mist!"
Nione created a Magic seal which released a overwhelming amount of poison gas over the area. Orion didn't even notice when the poison overcame his position and covered his body.
"Now die a slow agonizing death!" Nione said.
Orion walked forward with no problem. "Poison air?" he asked "Really? Child please, I can't breath it in." Orion patted his chest. "You see I have the lung's of an Earth Dragon. As solid as stone, I don't need in air to breath...but I can still do this!"
Orion took a deep breath and his chest puffed up. "EARTH DRAGON ROAR!" His Dragons roar shot from his mouth with the full force of the earth behind it. Niones scarf extended itself to the roof of a building and pulled Nione away from the Roar and put Nione on top of the roof. The Roar's basted continued regardless smashing through 2 buildings and extended into the wilderness where it crashed into a mountain side and created a deep tunnel.
Nione watched the destruction he caused with one attack. The debris was considerable to a large monster attack, but all done by a single person.
"Hey if you're terrified of my strength yet, I'd like to call for a ceasefire." Orion called up to Nione.
"A Ceasefire?" Nione asked. "What for?"
"I have a propositi-"
"I refuse-"
"Hear me out. You and your friend both seem to be young yet powerful wizards. I make it personal duty to...I guess you can say...recruit wizards to fight by my side."
"Recruit?"
"That's right. If you accept, you and your friend will be allowed to serve in the Gaia's Soul legion. You will be paid well, fed regularly and would have job security for life."
"But we would have to take orders from you? No deal."
"So you would accept if it weren't for that huh? Interesting...alright, back to killing you then!"
Near the Lunar Knights guild, Dante had caught up to Will, who ran to the other side of the building. Dante had just caught him finish casting a magic seal and watching the seal disappear.
"You all right there, Willy?" Dante asked.
"Yeah, just... kind of a little... overwhelmed." Will replied.
"You sure?" Dante asked. "Is there anything you want to talk to us about?"
"Yeah, that girl's magic is insane."
"Well, yeah, it IS kind of crazy, but-"
"No, I mean it's Insanity Magic. You get hit enough times with it, it can drive you insane."
"Really? How do you know that?"
"I just know."
"Bullshit."
"That's all I'm yelling ya."
Dante just glared him down then sighed. "Well, anyway, she just woke up, so we're gonna interrogate her. You want in?"
"Yeah, but how is Kimi?"
"Rosa rushed her to a clinic in town. Knife was in actually pretty deep. Can't remove it without cutting something open."
"Is she going to be okay?"
Dante shook his head. "Doesn't look good."
The two made their way back around to the beach and Jewul was still trapped to the glass plate.
"Smell it! Smell it! Smell it! Smell it!" Mist shoved a fish in Jewul's face.
"Mist, that's enough." Dante said.
"Very mature, Mist." Minami sarcastically said.
"Give me back my fish, Misty." Anne said.
Mist tossed the fish back to Anne and Dante pushed Mist aside so he can talk to Jewul.
"So, how ya feelin'?" Dante asked.
"Go to hell." Jewul answered.
"I'm already on my way." Dante stated. "Can you be nice and tell us why you attacked our guild?"
"Look, I'm a member of Obsidian Heart and we were paid to do several jobs on the island." Jewul answered.
"'We'?" Dante asked. "How many of you are on the island and what were these jobs you were told to do?"
"Only four of us, and I'm sure they succeeded." Jewul continued. "The jobs were simple enough, Kill the Raldan General, Kill the guild Masters, kill everyone in your guild hall and cause as much chaos as possible before Noon."
Dante blinked. "Wow were straightforward with us weren't you?"
"I wasn't paid to keep my trap shut and I'm too tired to give a crap."
"Ok," Dante continued. "So you were hired. Who hired you?"
"Some Black Fang big shot. Two Star Pentagram. What was his name? Allen something."
Dante immediately grabbed Jewul by her shoulders and his nails dug into her skin.
"Allen Miller?!" Dante asked, his voice shaking.
"Yeah, that's the name." Jewul confirmed. "Now paws off the goods buddy."
"He's here on the island?!" Dante asked, looking desperate. "Do you know where?!"
"Ah, uhm, we were supposed to pick up our payment at some orphanage in Tarjan."
Dante let go of Jewul and picked Anne off the ground.
"AYE!" Anne screamed.
"How fast can you fly?" Dante asked Anne.
"Hey, no one gave you permission to-" Mist was about to say.
"Anne, I need you to fly me to Tarjan!" Dante requested. "I can't risk walking across the island! There's no time for that!"
Anne looked over at Mist and Mist came to a realization that Dante was not only serious, but desperate for Anne's assistance.
"Anne, take him." Mist said.
"Okay, Misty." Anne said. Anne flew up behind Dante and grabbed him. "Hang on."
Anne lifted him off the ground, flew up in the air and took Dante to Tarjan.
*Raza took that team to Tarjan.* Dante thought. *Hopefully they will notice something and stop him. Dammit! How could he just slip right under my nose?*
Inside the tornado in the heart of Harbor Bay, Kisha frantically shook Asharu to wake him up.
"Come on!" Kisha shouted. "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!"
"Sto-o-o-o-p shaking me!" Asharu mumble-shouted.
The two were flying in the heart of the tornado. All sorts of debris was being carried by the wind toward them. Asharu adjusted his and Kisha's body so when the debris came toward them, he would kick off them and use their own momentum within the tornado. When Asharu's momentum came up, Wisteria managed to fly down toward him, still holding onto her sword, and slashed at them. Asharu used his sword to block, but Wisteria's more powerful momentum caused the sword to fall from Asharu's hands. Wisteria managed to stabilize herself within the tornado's current and redirected herself back at Asharu.
"Oh, I call bullshit!" Asharu shouted.
When Wisteria slashed at him, a piece of debris got in their way, got caught on Wisteria's sword and she was thrown in the other direction.
"Hey, Kisha, I've got a bit of a plan." Asharu said.
"To get us out of here?" Kisha asked.
"Eh, something like that." Asharu said before whispering in Kisha's ear.
Wisteria managed to pull her sword out of the debris and turn her attention back toward Asharu and Kisha.
"There's just one problem: I need to kick you off now." Asharu said.
"Wha-DON'T YOU DARE-!"
Asharu kicked Kisha off as she spun around in the tornado.
"KYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
A flat piece of wall of the building flew about and she smacked right up against it. The full force kept her pressed up against it, making it hard for her to push herself off.
"This really sucks!" Kisha shouted.
"Booooo!" Rave booed, who was on the other side of the wall Kisha was on.
"Rave! Why are you here?"
"To help! Watch this!" Rave slammed both her fists against the debris and sent it flying back toward Wisteria.
Wisteria charged toward Kisha with her sword.
"KYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Kisha screamed again.
Rave took the top of the wall and used all her strength to pull down on it and flip it around. When Rave flipped it around, Wisteria was just in range and the edge of the concrete wall smacked into Wisteria, sending her higher into the tornado. Having dropped her sword and spinning upwards, Wisteria momentarily lost her senses. She regained her senses just in time for Asharu to tackle her in her blind spot and grab onto her wrists to restrain her.
"All right, blowhard!" Asharu shouted. "Turn off your tornado, now!"
Wisteria tried to force her wrists free, but Asharu's grip was too tight. "LET GO OF ME!"
"Shouting like that didn't work the first time." Asharu said. "Besides, you're too cute to let go."
Wisteria got even angrier and tried to bite Asharu's wrist.
"Ow!" Asharu exclaimed. "Damn it, how come all the cute girls want to bite me?"
Wisteria pulled backward, creating a spinning motion and she and Asharu began to spin really fast through the speed of the tornado. Understandably, Asharu got dizzy and his grip loosened enough for Wisteria to take Asharu and throw him off her. Asharu smacked into a face-up table and was being held by the force of the tornado. Wisteria went int and tried to punch Asharu in the head, but he moved his head and she punched a hole in the wood of the table. She tried to punch Asharu with her other fist, but Asharu caught and held onto it. She tried to knee him in the leg, but he used his other hand to hold her leg back, leaving them in a position where the momentum wouldn't allow them to move anymore.
"Okay, just admit it." Asharu said. "You LIKE being this close to me, don't ya?"
Wisteria used her leg to knee Asharu in the stomach, but he kicked the table back to flip it around and was able to knock Wisteria off him. Wisteria turned to face Asharu again, but she was blindsided by a giant rock. Wisteria looked to see that it was Rave pushing the giant rock.
"Remember me, psycho?" Rave asked mockingly.
Wisteria was about to climb the rock to choke Rave until Asharu's table smacked her in the back. Asharu was standing on the table to make sure it held Wisteria down.
"KISHA, NOW!" Asharu shouted.
Wisteria looked to her right to see on the opposite side of the vortex was Kisha who had just activated her ring magic White Arrow and had it aimed right at Wisteria. It was a difficult shot to be sure, but Kisha released it anyway. The arrow passed two crates, a cabbage cart just missing all the cabbages floating around it, through the center of a broken off toilet seat, just made it through a brief opening when two walls collided against each other, then as it struck Wisteria, a white light and a miniature blast, that obliterated the rock and table, occurred on contact.
The tornado then began to slow down and the feeling of gravity began to return to the people within it. Voask was able to lower the rope as Angel and Lenalle were able to put their feet back on the ground. The debris was falling, too, right on top of Voask and the girls.
"Rope Magic: Net!" Voask created a rope of magic energy and it caught all the debris before it hit them.
Asharu fell while holding onto Rave and he would have landed where there was a ton of jagged debris. When he fell, he made sure to land on a sharp piece of debris with both feet, it began to collapse him into the rest of the debris. Asharu jumped off and landed on another piece of debris with one foot, but his balance made it so he had to jump off again and turn his body so he would land on his side on some soft ground while clutching Rave close to him.
"Rave, you all right?" Asharu asked.
"Yeah." Rave answered.
Asharu immediately looked up to see Kisha, who was still falling.
"Ring Magic: Bubble Shield!" Kisha used her ring magic to create a bubble around her.
As the bubble hit the ground, it bounced up and down a little bit for a few seconds before stopping. Upon realizing Kisha was safe, Asharu saw Wisteria completely out cold and falling like a rock. Asharu quickly got up, ran over to where she was falling, timed it just right, jumped and caught her, softening the impact of the landing. Asharu's momentum made him roll over and he stopped with his body on top of Wisteria's. He lifted himself up and looked at her face, gently moving the hair out of her face so he could see both of her closed eyes.
"She actually really is kinda cute." he said to himself. Upon noticing the position he was in (again), pointed at her face. "Next time we fight you are buying me dinner!"
Angel arrived and saw Asharu's awkward one-sided talk with Wisteria...and her eye twitched. "Getting friendly with the enemy are we?" she asked coldly.
Asharu threw his hands up. "Hey! She keeps coming on to me!" he defended.
"EARTH DRAGON FISSURE!...EARTH DRAGON PILE DRIVER!...EARTH DRAGON BURST!"
Tanya could hear Orion's shouts over the destruction he was causing with his attacks. She got up from the bench and stretched.
"I better tell the General to wrap it up." Tanya said. "He's causing way too much damage."
When she looked up, she could see that Orion had grabbed Nione by her scarf and spun and threw her across the courtyard, but Nione was able to land on her feet. As soon as she landed, Orion appeared right above her.
"EARTH DRAGON STONE FIST!"
Nione got out of the way and Orion punched the ground, creating another crater. Tanya just watched on and smiled.
*The power of a dragon...* Tanya thought. *I have mesmerized every time I watched the General fight.*
"Coffin-Poison Magic: Eternal Sleep!"
A coffin appeared behind Orion, trapped him in and Slammed shut. A second larger coffin appeared behind the first one and slammed shut. Then a third even larger coffin trapped the second one and slammed shut.
*The Powers of a Dragon are lost to Raldan. Even the possibility of Dragon Slayers do not cross the mind. It's no surprise that Orion became a general, no one in Raldan could match his power.*
"EARTH DRAGON SECERT ART: MAGNITUDE!"
The coffin behind shaking and blew apart, as did the other two trapping Orion. The violent shaking expanded creating an earthquake in the area, making Nione unbalanced.
"It's just like Wisteria." Nione said.
*The General's brutality masks his intelligence and his intelligence makes his brutality all the more effective. I'm impressed this girl lasted this long against him. She must be talented indeed.*
"EARTH DRAGON... ROOOOOOOOOAR!"
The dragon roar fired from Orion's mouth and an unbalanced Nione couldn't move in time and was struck by the attack. The attack leveled a few more buildings, but Nione laid across the battlefield defeated.
*This is the power of a Dragon Slayer. It is terrifying...*
Orion then walked over to Nione's body, lifted her up by her head and held her up as if to say 'Yes, I win! Look at my victory!'.
*... But also very beautiful.* Tanya then smiled as if she was waking up from a nice dream.
"I'll take my trophy now." Orion took the scarf around Nione's neck and tossed her to the ground.
When Nione hit the ground, a half black half white stuffed bunny fell from one of her straps. Orion saw it, picked it up and looked it over.
"Cute toy..." Orion said. He tossed the toy back onto Nione's body. "Tanya!"
Tanya hurried and rushed over. "Yes, sir?"
"Let the Rune Knights take away the garbage." Orion said. "Tell our soldiers to aid anybody who may have been caught in the crossfire. And offer to repair all damages from our legion's personal account."
Tanya rolled her eyes. "You're just going to give Jaeger more work."
"Damn cat can use some more work, the lazy bum!" Orion said.
The two walked off and continued their conversation.
In Tarjan,
Rhysander Deleon, was outside the town, near the edge of the forest. He was sitting on the branch of a tall tree, about midway up. He could see far into the town, but could see the docks just fine.
"The boats not leaving for another 3 days." He said to himself. "Best not to get spotted again till then. That was carless of me. Probably a trap down there right now." He looked around at the chirping birds. "I'm tired of running. I just wish their was way to fix everything."
The smell of smoke filled the air. Rhysander looked back to the town and saw smoke rising from the edge of the town.
"A Fire?"
Upon returning to the town, Ceceline and Nero saw the smoke rising within the city.
"That smoke is coming from home." Nero muttered.
Ceceline put her bags down next to Nero and held his head so he looked directly at her. "Nero you stay right here." She said. "I go check on everyone."
"But Cecel-"
"LISTEN to me this time."
Ceceline stayed until her reassured her. When Nero Nodded Ceceline took off and hurried to the orphanage.
*They all got out in time.* she thought as she ran *They are outside and away from the building.*
When she came within view of the orphanage it was indeed on fire. The horror wasn't with the burning building. Out in front, on the ground in a nice organized line were the bodies of some of the children. Covered in blood...and headless. The heads were mounted on carved wooden spikes lined up along the front of the orphanage. Ceceline threw up at the sight. Speechless she moved her head to the blood stained Pentagram painted on the ground.
"They're gone..." Ceceline cried. "They're...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
