chapter 25: Kishin's Awakening, who will wake up the bad guy?
As of this moment, I'm gonna try and add titles to each of the chapters in this story so it's easier to know what has happened and what minor details have already been done, that way I don't forget and repeat myself. Thanks to Omnitus Vanipotent for the title and possible the others.

Tsubaki turned around while hearing the sounds of screaming. "Do you think the others are doing alright?"
"Honestly I never imagined Blair would fight us so I can't say I ever saw her as dangerous, but she still has a lot of magic so there's no telling how deadly she can be with that tattoo." spoke Maka.
"Or she flashed Kidd her boobs." Soul said out loud.
Tsubaki and Naruto blushed while Maka deadpanned.
"Knowing him he stood there gawking at how 'symmetrical' they were."
"True." Soul nodded. "But back on topic, who's going to be blocking our path now? A killer succubus?"
"Honestly I don't know." spoke Naruto looking miffed and sad. "I thought she was just another aunt I could look up to, but if she's willing to manipulate Blair like that and cause this much trouble, then I don't know whether to get pissed or cry."
"Just how did you and Blair meet up exactly?" asked Tsubaki.
"Well I met her as a kid in her cat form and it just went from there." He admitted with a sigh. "But she did leave and I was worried someone killed her."
"Trust us, she's far from ending up dead. We met her when we nearly got Soul here as a death scythe, but…." Maka trailed off with a sweatdrop.
"Turns out a magical cat soul wasn't enough and we had to start over." grumbled Soul. "So uncool."
Tsubaki snickered at that while Naruto sighed.
"Really? Did you try sneaking in secret to find out if she was a witch or not?"
"Soul was too eager to be a death scythe." Maka frowned. "And he went into her bathtub."
"It was an accident." he groaned while Naruto felt annoyed by that. "Ever since then she's bunked with us."
"Wait, she's been staying with you two this whole time? Did she ever once bring up my name or even the other girl's?"
"No." They said at once while Naruto groaned in sadness.
"But she did leave for this one month tuna convention." Soul grumbled. "But that was a completely uncool lie."
Naruto gripped his hands while taking a deep breath. 'She says she wanted to protect me, but instead she wound up being tricked by Shaula. After this is over I'm gonna have a word with her.'
As this was happening, they didn't notice the No Entry tape around the area. But what they did notice was a sword suddenly embedding itself in their way making them stop as Maka closed her eyes.
"Someone's here, their soul is powerful, and...wait, I think you met this person Tsubaki. Didn't you say you and Black Star fought against a tough human who nearly beat you?"
"Yes." She said seriously.
"Oh great." Soul muttered. "We have to face a samurai, I was really hoping for the killer succubus."
Maka frowned at that before Naruto saw someone walking towards them ahead and brought his weapon out just as Mifune came out of the shadows for all of them to see.
He looked at them before seeing Tsubaki. "It's you again? Didn't you and that boy learn your lesson the first time?"
"I'm not with Black Star Mifune." She said. "I'm Naruto's partner now."
He looked at the others and spotted the blond while seeing his weapon. "Him? The boy who already seems to possess a weapon?"
"That's black blood pal." Naruto frowned. "And let me guess, you're here to stop us?"
He nodded and held one sword beside him. "Usually I'd stay away from matters like this, but there are some things a man must push aside for his goal. I'll warn you now, I don't like seeing children get hurt, so just turn around and walk away."
"I'm not a kid." Maka frowned.
"With your chest, yes." Soul pointed out.
CHOP!
"MAKA CHOP!"
"OW!"
"So what is your goal?" glard Naruto. "Power? Money? Even if you let Tsubaki here and Black Star go, that doesn't mean you don't have a twisted reason for going behind something this insane."
Mifune frowned at that. "Kids don't have the capacity to understand." He pointed his blade at them. "This is your final warning, leave or I'll be force to fight you."
"We didn't come all the way here to turn tail and run." spoke Soul before transforming as Maka held him. 'That's no way for a cool guy like me to show off.'
Mifune closed his eyes and sighed before holding his sword out to the side with narrow eyes. "Very well."
"Wait!" spoke Tsubaki. "Is this about Angela? Is that why you're doing this?"
"She's safe." He said. "And away from the carnage." 'I hope Kaguya is not teaching her anything crazy.'
Naruto's eyes widened while dropping his mouth. "Wait...Angela? A small girl, with a chameleon hat?"
Mifune blinked before narrowing his eyes. "How do you know about her?"
"Because she's my friend!" he frowned. "I met her when I was just a kid, the same time as Blair. I should be asking you, how do you know about her? What's your connection with her?"
"I'm her guardian." He spoke. "And you must be the boy she told me about on that day. She mentioned he had blond hair, but I didn't think I'd encounter you here. All the more reason to leave, I don't want to hurt someone she cares for."
Naruto blinked. "I get that you're trying to protect her, but we still have to stop my aunt from awakening the kishin."
"If I don't help Shaula, then Angela will suffer for it. I can't take that chance."
'And if you do it she might get turned into a brainwashed witch.' Soul frowned. 'Look pal, we just met Blair and she went crazy on us. And she had a scorpion tattoo on her.'
"Whatever she told you can't be true." spoke Maka. "Do you know if Angela is really safe? Or if she'd be happy hearing what you're doing."
He gripped his sword harder before walking towards them, but grabbed the sword in the door and slid it back in his holder before turning and walking away. "I'm willing to accept her hating me, but this needs to happen."
"No it doesn't!" yelled Naruto gripping his large cleaver and rushed at Mifune before swinging.
CLING!
"You can't stop me from doing my duty."
Naruto frowned before his blade turned into a giant viking sword with a dragon wing as part of the hilt with large fingers at the tip. "Then taste some Norwegian power!" He then felt his body getting stronger while the blade lit up like a bonfire.
Mifune was surprised feeling Naruto push against his sword, but held his ground and swung his foot up, kicking Naruto in the stomach and making him stumble back before he pulled a second sword out upside down before rotating his body around and blocked Soul's blade without losing his composer.
'Damn it!'
"Two against one is all fair in my book." He said before Naruto rushed towards him.
"Taste Beowulf's Grendel slash!" He yelled while the blade made a flaming arch at the man.
Mifune went wide eyed before dodging to the right. He saw Maka jump up in the air and swing Soul making him block the blade with both swords before pushing her back and threw one sword towards her, nicking her side and embedding itself in the ground.
"Ah!"
'Maka!'
Tsubaki looked very conflicted at this before seeing Naruto charging at the man. 'I need to help him.'
Mifune noticed and jumped up in the air avoiding Naruto before twisting around with his holder aimed down before his swords went shooting out towards the boy and wound up embedding into the ground around him, enclosing around his body and limbs to where he had to stop or get cut.
"You think this is gonna do squat?" he frowned as the samurai landed before he tried pushing against the swords with a glare while they drew blood. "You just put the favor in my hand."
"I know what you're trying." spoke Mifune as he saw blood droplets rise up in the air before needles jutted out and he flipped over in the air while picking a sword up kicking it's handle with his foot before using it to quickly hack at the points before landing and pulled a second one out and swung both ina flurry, causing each needle to get cut down before they could peirce him. "Shaula warned me about what black blood could do."
He frowned at that before Tsubaki changed into her smoke bomb mode and exploded.
FHISH!
"Not this time." Mifune crouched down and closed his eyes before hearing footsteps to his left and backed up, avoiding Soul's blade before opening his eyes and swung his backhand up and nailing Maka in the face before jumping back when Naruto's huge sword hit the spot he was right on.
The blade caught on fire again before causing one of the blades to melt.
"Taste Dragon's Anger you samurai!" He yelled out before causing the flames to increase in temperature.
The metal began to turn into slag as Mifune had to backaway to keep himself from getting burned.
'Kit you need to calm down.'
'But I'm making him vulnerable!'
'You're going to either burn us to ashes or cause a cave in!'
'If I can just melt his swords he won't be able to stop us!'
'It's still going to fail, I mean he might get in close-behind you kit!'
SWISH!
KLING!
Mifune blocked the strike, but saw his blade melting before jumping back and dropped it before ducking from Soul's blade which took a few hairs off.
'Damn it! Maka, we need to use Soul Resonance!'
"You read my mind!" she closed her eyes with Soul doing the same before opening their eyes and yelled as their wavelengths met and her soul glowed with Soul's blade glowing and growing.
Mifune saw the attack before getting an idea and as the attack was about to hit him, he grabbed Naruto and used him as a substitute. 'Sorry kid, but sometimes dirty tactics can save your life.'
"Shit!" he cursed before feeling the blade dig into him and cried out with wide eyes while Kurama himself panicked as Mifune let Naruto go who looked at the gash with black blood dripping out.
"Naruto!" Tsubaki cried out in horror.
"Oh no!" cried Maka as he fell to his knees and grabbed it before she rushed over. "Naruto!"
'Low blow you bastard!'
'Ow….'
He frowned. "It is necessary to survive. The way of the warrior is defined with such tactics."
"How is it the way of the warrior to act like a hypocrite?!" glared Maka gripping Soul.
"It is not, I'm already aware that doing all this has caused me to lose any semblance of being a true warrior, but if I must sacrifice that part of who I am, then so be it."
'Hang on Kit, I'll fix that.' spoke Kurama before letting some chakra out with the gash glowing red before it began to slowly close up.
Tsubaki frowned while gripping her hands and turned her hair into chains, which grabbed Naruto's arm and pulled her towards him as she turned into her weapon form. 'I'm sorry, but I must protect you.'
Maka and Soul were surprised at the sudden healed wound, but choked it up to magic while Naruto panted and looked down at Tsubaki.
"Are you sure? What about what happened before?"
'It's in the past, but I don't want you to get hurt so...resonate with me and I'll protect you while you get healed.'
'Do it Kit, so far your usual method isn't working.'
Naruto groaned before activating his resonance, which caused Tsubaki to enter her dark form and turned into a katana with shark like teeth and covered in blood.
"AHAHAHA! Master, I'll make this bastard die like a worm~" she laughed maniacally before turning into a large chain and ball sickle with a skull like weight with spikes on it and a blood covered blade, and sent the weight at the samurai. "AHAHA!"
Mifune's eyes widened before jumping to the side as the weight hit the ground and made cracks with Maka and Soul gobsmacked.
'What the hell just happened to Tsubaki?!'
She laughed like a madwoman while sending the weight right at Mifune and caused massive amounts of destruction to the floor and walls. "Take this! I'll make sure you can't fuck a bitch again!"
'What happened to her? It's like she changed into a murderous warrior!'
"Naruto, what's going on?" asked Maka.
"This is the bad side when we Soul Resonate, the black blood in me has a bad side effect on her, this is why I tried to fight with the black blood alone."
"Master, let's make him our bitch!" Tsubaki laughed before wrapping around the samurai's arms and pulled him towards the sickle. "Your soul's mine!"
'Maka, I think we got a case of copy infringement.'
"Not now!" spoke Maka before turning to Naruto. "You have to cut the connection!"
"Tsubaki stop this!"
She blinked before saying. "But master, I thought you wanted me to eat his soul. And I'm so godfucking horny now!"
He and Maka blushed before he glared. "No, you're not eating his soul."
"Then can I castrate him? Mmm, blood always makes me horny~" She hummed a little bit.
"No!"
She let him go while looking depressed. "What a cop out master."
"Look here Mifune, either start talking and let us through or I'll loosen my hold on her."
He looked at the weapon, which was oozing more blood then before and giggling evilly, before looking at Naruto. "Fine, just keep her from using me for anything she has in that mind of hers."
"Oh master, can't I just put my blade up his ass? I know you'll like being the sex god of dominance~" Tsubaki said with lust.
"Then talk, what's your reason for doing this for Angela?"
He looked him in the eye and hardened his gaze. "Tell me, do you know what the hardships a witch has to endure every day of their life since they're born? I use to be a bodyguard for any sleeze ball who would pay me and keep them protected, but deep down I wasn't happy. It wasn't until I found Angela and protected her that I realized I couldn't let her be on her own. She had been targeted by humans because of her power and because they just saw her as some object to sell and fill their pockets."
Naruto frowned while instinctively gripping Tsubaki tighter. "Yeah, believe it or not I am one."
"You don't come across as one. As far as I've heard witches were all female."
"Well I am." He frowned. "And trust me pal, I've been hurt by humans because they're scared of me and my family."
That made Soul and Maka glance down since that pertained to them too.
"One day when Shaula came to us and told us about doing this, I was hesitant, but she promised it would guarantee Angela's safety for the rest of her life. She swore she'd guarantee and said Death's methods of dealing with things was just dragging the problems on. She said that eventually Angela would get reaped too just like so many others."
"Did she tell you what the kishin would do? Or just how it got down here?" asked Maka. "If it gets free then no one's safe, human, witch, or anything will be protected if she frees him."
'Kaguya said the same thing.' "I understood that, but I have to keep Angela safe. Especially when she's still learning to control her magic."
"Oh yeah? Did she ever tell you what he did to his weapon partner? Or what he use to be before being a kishin." glared Naruto. "Apparently he was helping Lord Death out reap witches before any kishins were born, and he even ate his own weapon partner."
That got Soul and Maka a little fearful.
"And do you want to know what else he did? He started eating everything under the sun, even other kishins that popped up from his madness." Naruto growled while loosening his grip on Tsubaki slightly. "Do you think he'd hesitate to devour Angela if he comes out? He'll be so paranoid that he'll make sure every single witch or strong being is wiped out with everyone going insane. Now you look me dead in the eyes and tell me that's a utopia for Angela."
"..."
"Well? Is it or not!?"
The human closed his eyes and clenched his hands. "You're right, I just wanted Angela to be safe, but being swayed by that woman for something like that and not telling us the full truth just goes to show I've doomed this whole world."
"Not just yet, if we can book it then we might still catch up!" spoke Maka while looking down the hall. "How long were you waiting for us before separating from her?"
"Two minutes give or take."
"I'll cut her to bits! And then I'll teabag her corpse~"
Naruto frowned before cutting the soul resonance and caused Tsubaki to return to normal. Her form reverted back to her knife mode while she blinked and rubbed her eye.
'W...What happened?'
"You went crazy again and wanted to eat Mifune's soul and teabag my aunts corpse."
She blushed while looking a little flustered. 'S-S-Sorry!'
Mifune stood up and moved to grab his swords before seeing Maka glare at him and stopped. "Relax, I'm not going to fight, you're free to go on ahead, I'm just getting my swords back so I can be ready when I see her again, I'm coming with."
"How do I know you're not going to just attack us?"
"I don't fight unarmed opponents." He said while grabbing his last sword.
'That's a likely story.' Soul muttered.
"Fine, you can come, but we'll need to book it." spoke Naruto while he started running down the hall.
(Later)
'Sorry Naruto.' Tsubaki said for the hundredth time. 'I didn't mean to act like that.'
"It's fine Tsubaki, right now we need to stay on track and pray Shaula hasn't gotten there yet." He said before noticing the room was starting to become more creepy and had more eye like designs. "We're almost there."
"Wait." spoke Maka stopping and making the other two do the same before she glanced around. "Did you hear that?"
'Hear what?' Asked Soul confused. 'I didn't hear squat.'
"Shh." she shushed before listening as it was all quiet making Naruto look around.
'I don't hear anything.'
'Just keep a eye out kit.'
Mifune went wide eyed when he suddenly saw a figure looking out from behind a pillar and drew a sword before jumping over while the figure moved all the way around, making him look behind and saw they were gone. "What?"
Naruto looked around before seeing a figure near the wall as it suddenly vanished in an instance. 'Ok that's not normal.'
"He he he." said a voice from behind Maka.
'Maka look out!'
She turned around and saw a naked man with tattoo like eyes on its head. She tried to move quickly before the man's jaw opened and chopped down on her head. But instead of getting her head bitten into, she found herself staring at the empty hallway while sweat went down her face. "W-What?"
'Maka snap out of it!'
She blinked and looked around to see Mifune and Naruto gone before looking down and saw Soul disappeared from her hands. "Soul?!"
But that was when a large hand came out of her chest and grabbed her face.
She then blinked again as she felt like she just died.
'Maka! What's up with you?!'
"Huh?" she saw she was holding Soul, but the blade was aimed at her neck and saw Mifune with a sword poised at his chest with Naruto having Tsubaki's chain wrapped around his neck. "Hey wake up!"
Naruto blinked before shaking his head. "Huh? What...Tsubaki?!"
'Huh, oh my god!' She said while the chain moved off of his neck. 'Are you ok?!'
"What? What happened?" blinked Mifune lowering his sword and looking around.
'You just blanked out and started acting weird!' spoke up Soul.
"No I was talking with your friend when I got sliced in half."
"Wait what?!"
'Kit, it's the madness. It's affecting your minds and causing you to enter a suicide illusion. Almost like genjutsu.'
"That means we're really close, and it also means we have to push through it and keep our minds from wavering." He said while steeling himself.
'Right.' Tsubaki said while they went deeper into the hallway, with the architecture starting to become more irrational and disjointed from any sort of logic.
That was when they made it to a large door with seals on it, but it was destroyed in the middle of it as it left a large circular hole in it.
'Crap! We're too late kit!'
Naruto growled before running in and let out a loud yell. "SHAULA!"
Silence.
"SHAULA GET OUT HERE!"
More silence.
Naruto growled while Mifune and Maka ran in before he looked up ahead and saw some archway with a bag that was held off the ground with chains and had three eyes tattooed on the front with his aunt holding a suitcase standing next to it with a smirk. "YOU!"
She turned and smiled. "Oh Naruto, what a unexpected surprise. And here I thought Mifune would incapacitate you by now."
"You've got some nerve." spoke Mifune walking next to Naruto with a glare. "You withheld information from me that I should have known."
"Oh? About what? I can't answer that right unless you're more clear."
"You know what it is Shaula." He frowned.
She played innocent at that. "I really don't know, I've been too busy trying to get Asura out of his prison to remember."
"You knew what he was, what he'll do when he's out."
"Oh! I see, you think I made the whole thing up about Angela-chan being safe, is that it? Don't be mistaken, that was completely true."
Naruto frowned at that while Soul looked a little out of it due to the madness emanating from the bag.
'What...ugh I don't feel cool right now.'
Shaula smirked a little. "Don't worry, I'll keep my word. But I doubt you're going to keep your end of our bargain."
"What kind of goal do you think you'll accomplish with this? The whole world will be thrown in chaos!" scowled Maka.
"For you, yes." she chuckled with a dark grin. "I came here to bring him back with one goal in mind, to control him and have him eliminate humankind."
'And what about your own kind you crazy woman?!'
"Simple, with my special poison I'll have Asura under my control, and with him I'll help this world be reborn anew with only witches to live on it. Naruto, you were raised in a loving home and with a loving family, I can respect that, but it's how your mother and Arachne changed. We witches were born with magic that far surpassed human limits, and yet they had no qualms having you and your sister attend the school where Lord Death himself is fine with having our kind killed just to make weapons like the one in your hands into his own personal toys."
'That's not true!' Tsubaki called out. 'I'm not Naruto's toy, we're partners!'
"Oh? Then tell me? Do you think every other weapon and meister think the same? How do you know some don't just see this as one big game? That the life of one witch is all it takes to become seen as all powerful." she scowled. "Weapons wouldn't even be around if my sister hadn't experimented and made them, and if I had known a descendant of the clan I had a hand in making would be your partner I would have ensured they were killed off."
'What?! You made my clan?!'
"Yep, and you all thought it was my sister Arachne. She made the rest but I added in your multi form type just to impress her, which I know know was a big mistake." She said nonchalantly.
Tsubaki went wide eyed in her weapon form while Shaula smirked.
"But you don't have to die with the other humans, join me and I'll love you forever as the new Adam and Eve of the new ruling class of witches." she smiled sweetly to Naruto. "I always saw potential in you and always cared, so why not come over and give your auntie a hug?"
Naruto frowned. "Normally I would, but right now I'm really pissed off." He pointed Tsubaki at her. "And the only thing I'm going to give you is a good old fashioned ass kicking!"
"Mmm, never been a masochist before." She said with a sickening sweet tone. She snapped her fingers as several spots glowed under the floor before large black scorpions slowly rose up before she gained a dark grin. "Keep my pets entertained for a bit while I wake Asura up."
He frowned at that as the scorpions rose up and began to flex their stingers.
"Shisss."
"Shisss."
"Shisss."
'This is so uncool.' Soul muttered.
"You won't get away." spoke Mifune before sending three of his swords out and hit them all with one sword before they shot out towards her, only for one scorpion to jump up and intercept them.
"Shisss." It chattered before it lunged out with its stinger, which nearly hit him in the eye.
Shaula opened the suitcase near her and looked in to see a container of black blood with a collapsible needle which she took out and began putting together. "Trust me Naruto-kun, you'll thank me when you see the world after Asura cleans it up."
'That's the source of the darkness I sensed earlier! Kit, get it away from her now!'
'No need to tell me twice!' He thought while not knowing that someone was watching from one of the pillars. He pulled one of the blades back before hurling it at Shaula before it spun and he held onto the other one.
She turned before using her hair to block one of the blades with the strand forming part of a scorpion stinger while she held the needle up and put it through the top of the canister before slowly drawing the black blood into it. "I'm almost ready my dear nephew, just let doctor Shaula inject some medicine into my patients' body."
Naruto was about to strike again when something swooped down and grabbed the syringe from the witches hands.
"YAHOOOO!" it called out before spinning on its leg and slammed it into her cheek, making her go flying and crashing into one of the pillars. "I'll be taking that!"
Tsubaki went wider eyed as she saw the person, which was Black Star, but he had long claw like nails, scaly skin with spikes on his back, a pair of bird like wings with eyes in the center of them, with long tiger like teeth and hooked like toes like that of a lizards. His eyes were pure yellow as he looked like a unholy creature of darkness. 'B-Black Star?!'
"In the flesh, my new god flesh that is!" He laughed. "And thanks to that witch I'm going to become a real god!"
Shaula groaned while frowning as he picked up the needle and moved near the sack. "What are you doing? Get away from that!"
"Nope." He said before moving towards the bag. "After all." He then slammed the syringe into the skin with almost animalistic strength. "That damn spirit is going to give me my godhood!"
'Yes! I'm back!' The spirit of Asura laughed before going into the bag as it glowed a dark purple color as Black Star started pushing the black blood into it.
"NOOOO!" cried out Naruto with wide eyes.
