Chapter Twenty-Five
They were suppose to have dinner that night. His meeting was supposed to have ended early. But her phone rang. And he had no idea when he'd leave work. So, now he opened her apartment door with his own key. The key she had given to him. Every thing was quite. The only noise he could hear was her shower. He took off his shoes and his coat. As he walked to check on Teddy he untied his tie. He opened up the door to Teddy's room carefully. The little boy was laying down in his bed, holding his bear, sleeping peacefully. He closed the door with a smile on his face. He started to unbutton his shirt as he walked towards her room. He opened up the door to her room carefully not to make his presence announced. He put his shirt and his tie in the chair near her bed. He sat down in her bed and took off his pants, his briefs and his socks before opening up the door of her bathroom. He opened up her shower door before wrapping his arms around her waist as he kissed her neck. Mellie jumped when she felt someone getting in. But she relaxed the moment she felt his lips on her skin.
"I thought you weren't coming" said Mellie as she turned around in his arms. He kissed her as she wrapped her arms around his torso. He kissed her jawline and her earlobe before kissing behind her neck just a little below her ear. She moaned. He took a step back and she looked at him with a confused look in her eyes. "We don't have to rush" he turned off the water before taking her hand on his. He wrapped her towel around her before hugging her. He kissed her nose and her cheekbones. She closed her eyes and he kissed them. She smiled. He kissed her nose again before landing his lips on hers. She let go of her towel while he scooped in his arms. His lips never left hers. He lay her down on her bed. He rested his forehead against hers "I'm not going anywhere" he said before he kissed his way down. He kissed her neck. Between her breasts. Her breasts. He kissed her stomach before disappearing between her thighs.
"Ohhh… Andrew"
She woke up with one of his arms around her waist and his forehead against the back of her head.
"Good morning" said Mellie before turning around to face him.
"Hey" replied Andrew as he brushed his nose against hers.
"Last night was great" said Mellie with a huge smile on her face.
"You weren't that bad yourself" replied Andrew chuckling. Mellie hit him lighter in the shoulder but Andrew pretended to be hurt and fall on his back.
"Waking up with you" said Mellie as she snuggled up against him.
"I'm done with hiding" said Andrew after kissing the top of her head.
"Are you serious?" she asked as she looked up. Andrew just nodded. "Well… we should celebrate it then" said Mellie as she arched her eyebrow while her hand caressed his torso. She kissed his neck as her hand found its way down.
"Mama me no open door" said Teddy just when Mellie had her hand wrapped around Andrew.
Andrew sighed when he heard the little boy's voice.
"Honey, why don't you go watch some tv? Mama will be there in a minute" said Mellie as she wrapped her arm around Andrew's torso.
"Okay" said Teddy before leaving.
"I'm sorry" mumbled Mellie against Andrew's chest.
"Why don't you go take care of him while I go take a cold shower?" said Andrew as he caressed her back.
Mellie looked up to meet his gaze "I love you" she said before kissing him. She got out from his embrace and put on her robe while Andrew got up from her bed.
He smacked her behind "And don't think this is over" he said before stealing another kiss from her.
"Are you expecting anyone?" asked Andrew when he heard the door bell rang.
"Alex is picking up Teddy" said Mellie as Andrew opened the door.
"Andrew!? Hi!" said Alexandra as she walked into her aunt's apartment.
"Awwweexxx!" said Teddy as he run towards his cousin's arms.
"Ah! Aren't you all dressed up and ready to go?" said Alexandra as she picked him up.
"How do I look?" asked Teddy as he placed his hands on her chest.
"You look very handsome!" replied Alexandra before kissing him in cheek "Are you ready to spend the day with me?"
"Yes! Do I see daddy too?"
"Yes, you will see daddy too. We're gonna have lunch and dinner with him!"
"And can I sleep with you?"
"Of course you can, honey" said Alexandra before putting him down.
"He's all dressed up and fed but I'm starving" said Mellie as she walked towards her niece.
"Good thing I brought bagels" said Alexandra before hugging her aunt.
They had eaten their breakfast. "I really loved to stay with you but I have to go back to work"
"Mama!" said Teddy suddenly "Can you help me chose a book?"
"Sure, Teddy bear. But you have to be fast!" said Mellie as she got from her seat.
"Are you sure about this?" asked Alexandra as soon as Mellie and Teddy were out of sight.
"Yes" said Andrew knowing exactly what she was talking about "So, do what you have to do. Work your magic, Alex"
"I was just asked if the Vice-President was having an affair with the former First Lady because they saw you two walking out of her apartment building earlier this morning. Is it true? Are they dating? This is something that I need to know" said Abby when she walked into Alexandra in the hallway.
"Tell them you don't know. You're not aware of the former First Lady's love life"
"But are they dating?" asked Abby once again.
But Alexandra didn't answer "Is Carla still interesting on a second interview with the First Lady?" she asked instead.
"What?" said Abby as she tried to understood Alexandra.
"Is Carla still interesting on a second interview with the First Lady?" asked Alexandra once again.
"Yes, I think so."
"Good. Make it happen" said Alexandra before leaving a surprised Abby in the hallway.
"What about those rumors?" asked Abby.
"Keep dodging those bullets, Abby!" replied Alexandra as walked with her back towards Abby.
It had already passed 30 minutes since the beginning of the interview and Carla still hadn't made any questions about the rumors going around town. But Alexandra knew than sooner or later Carla would fire those questions. And she was right.
"Your aunt, former First Lady Mellie Grant, was seen holding Vice-President Andrew Nichols' hand while leaving a restaurant last week. The rumors of them dating started right away" Carla's question question was interrupted by Alexandra's laugh.
"Well they aren't just rumors, Carla. My aunt and the Vice-President have indeed been dating for the last couple of months. And before you ask it. Yes, I knew about their relationship all along. But I had to respect my aunt's wishes to not say anything about it" Alexandra looked straight into Carla's eyes as she said those words while Abby stared at her with a smirk on her face.
"So, they started dating about 3 months after the divorce?"
"Yeah, that's about it"
"So those rumors saying their relationship started when she was still married to President Grant are true?"
"Well, those are just rumors to sell! Remember that time they were saying the Vice President and I were dating? It was totally not true! But it didn't stop them from writing headlines about it" said Alexandra laughing.
Mellie curled up against Andrew as he caressed her back. They had just watched Alexandra's interview and had just gotten into bed.
"She did good" said Mellie after awhile.
"Yes, she did. Comparing those rumors was just genius" said Andrew
"Well, genius runs in the family. What can I say?"
Andrew laughed "I hope they believed in her"
"She didn't flinch. Not even a second. She's a pretty good liar. Another thing that runs in the family"
This time Andrew didn't laugh. He held her closer to him as he kissed the top of her head. While Mellie hold onto him a little tighter.
"Are you sure Teddy is okay with me staying overnight again?" asked Andrew with a serious tone.
"He adores you, Andrew! And as long as you make pancakes for breakfast" she said as she looked up to look on his eyes.
"Have I told you that I love you today?"
"Yeah but I don't mind hearing it again" said Mellie as she put her legs across him and sat on his lap.
"I love you, Melody" said Andrew as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I love you too, Andrew"
