Chapter 25: Blonde vs. Blue: Over To You

Yosuke begrudgingly returned to his seat, scowl evident on his face while Yu slowly retreated the ring with his newly won title, and headed to the back to recuperate. Chie was naturally curious so she had to ask.

"Hey Yosuke, what the hell was that all about just now?" Chie asked.

"It's nothing Chie, I mean I had it! I had it in the palm of my hands and it just slipped away! Damn it…" Yosuke said, with a pout as he slumped to his seat.

"Yosuke…." Chie said, a little frightened by his overreaction.

"Don't worry, I'll be the first to admit that I'm jealous, but I won't let this get in the way personally." Yosuke said.

"Well okay then…I'm just hoping there's no tension later on or anything." Chie said as Yu returned with them in the crowd.

"Hey there, did I miss anything?" Yu said as he sat with his friends.

"Not at all bro, just in time for the next fight…I think Minato and Kanji are up next." Yosuke said with a wince.

"Many congratulations Yu-kun! I had faith in you the entire time." Yukiko said.

"Heeeeeey!" Yosuke whined.

"Oh shut up Yosuke! You know we supported the both of you guys and hell even Akihiko, but still, I'm excited and happy for you 'champ.' Chie said, with a bit of blush, while Yu smiled and sat closer to her.

Suddenly, heavy metal music blared from the ramp-way as Kanji slowly came out through the curtain, prop desk and all. He raised the desk up in the air as he scowled specifically at Yu and his friends as he rolled into the ring, no questions asked despite being booed heavily by the crowd, and waited for his opponent as a slow drum beat began to play. There was noticeably more cheers, but still mixed in well enough with boos as Minato walked out in his trademark uniform with a smirk on his face as he entered the ring and went right to Kanji's face, staring him in the face as his smirk gradually turned into a more calculated look, no fear evident as Kanji stared down in the same manner and with that, the bell rang as Minato stepped back and condescendingly winked at the crowd as Kanji noticed an opportunity and grabbed Minato from behind with a Full Nelson hold, lifted him up and slammed in back first onto the mat and went for the pin early, but Minato kicked out at one and a half as he got back up quickly, holding his back as he was done playing with the crowd, but not with Kanji as he flipped him the middle finger in sheer defiance. Kanji became red with anger as he went in for a Clothesline, but Minato ducked and jumped onto second rope.

The crowd reacted as Minato flipped himself back, doing a Moonsault onto Kanji, but Kanji caught him on his shoulders as he went for another move attempt, but Minato manage to free a hand and thumb Kanji in the eye as he was dropped, landing on his feet as Kanji remained in the middle of the ring. Minato stepped through the ropes and onto the apron, turning to face his opponent and readying himself as he held the top rope tightly. He taunted via a cocky neighborhood nod, jumped and springboarded onto the top rope, turned to the side slightly and kicked an unsuspecting Kanji with both of his feet with a Springboard Drop Kick. The impact sent Kanji back a little bit, and then onto the mat as he was dazed slightly from the move.

Minato quickly got back up and picked Kanji up by the hair as he talked trash to him as he forced him onto his knees.

"You're nothing without your former little team or your precious golden girl Naoto and you're not fucking worthy of being champion of shit!" Minato shrieked as he slapped Kanji around, which seemed to make him angrier as Minato boldly kept doing it.

"Yes get angrier and lose more control you effeminate waste! I feed off of that shit!" Minato said.

"You piece of shit! Yaaaaaaaaah!" Kanji yelled as he grabbed Minato by the throat and lifted him up. He threw into the corner against one of the turnbuckles and started giving him a series of forearms, which forced Minato to his knees as Kanji picked him up again and hoisted him onto the top turnbuckle before he ran opposite of his opponent to go for a running corner Big Boot, but Minato countered by grabbing Kanji's right leg, kicking his hamstring and giving him a boot of his own, knocking him down on the mat. Minato measured his opponent before turning to Yu's direction.

"This for you…..Yu." Minato yelled arrogantly as he went in for a Double Foot Stomp, clearly mocking Yu's move from just previously; however Kanji recovered and then rolled out of the way during the mocking session, with Minato landing on his feet safely but still tweaking himself a bit.

"Heh, that's what he gets for trying make fun of me." Yu said with a chuckle.

Kanji went towards Minato for a Clothesline to the neck but Minato ducked and did a Handspring against the ropes, bounced back on his feet, turned himself in mid-air and nailed Kanji in the side of the head with a Jumping Enzuigiri Kick, sending him down whilst making a loud bang from the impact. Minato went for the cover.

ONE! TWO!-

Kanji managed to power out at two and a half, much to the chagrin of the crowd. It was a strange feeling to Yu, it seemed like the Minato fans were there, and possibly increasing. Minato then picked Kanji and hooked both of his arms over his, and then sent himself on the ground, while driving Kanji head and face first onto the mat with a Double Arm DDT. Minato went for the pin again only to get yet another two count. Feeling a little ticked off, Minato went outside the ring to pick up a steel chair and went inside of the ring with it, much to the unexpected excitement of the crowd.

The referee noticed this and tried to intervene, as Kanji slowly collected himself and noticed the scuffle for the chair between Minato and the referee. Minato threw the chair at Kanji and then used the referee as a human shield, as the referee now focused his attention on Kanji as he had the chair. Minato went in between and slapped Kanji in the face again, as Kanji dropped the chair in sheer anger and went for the Discus Palm Strike, but Minato ducked out of the way and the referee took the strike, which knocked him down. Kanji went after a distracted Minato and knocked him out as well with a Discus Palm Strike. Minato went limp as Kanji went for the pin but nothing happened as there was no one to count it off. He got up and tried to shake the referee to revive him, but for now to no avail. He then turned around only to take a loud chair shot right to the face by Minato, which caused Kanji to drop like a sack of potatoes. Minato looked dementedly at his fallen opponent, and observed a now crimson Kanji, who was bleeding heavily from the top of his forehead as everyone looked on in horror. Minato was about to capitalize until he felt a tap on his shoulder, who then turned around while holding the chair only to see Naoto standing before him. Minato was admittedly stunned as he didn't know what to make of the situation. Before he could react, Naoto kicked him in the groin region really hard and then dropkicked the chair right into Minato's face, sending him down. Naoto pulled Minato near one of the corner posts, put the chair on top of Minato, and she went up to the top rope while facing him. She hesitated at first, but then she readied herself and jumped forward while flipping herself backward, hitting Minato with a Shooting Star Press. She was hurt from the impact of the chair, but she collected herself and shook Kanji awake, who was unaware of what had happened.

"N-Naoto?! What are you doing here damn it?" Kanji demanded.

"No time for such explanations, pin him now Kanji-kun! The official is coming to already!" Naoto said she slid back out to ringside. Kanji hobbled over to his prey and went in for the win.

*ONE! TWO! THR-*

"No no no! No pinfall Kanji! Foot's on the bottom rope!" The official said, breaking the count, much to Kanji's dismay as he saw that Minato had his right foot resting on the bottom rope.

"What the hell!? Are you shittin' me right now!? Kanji growled, grabbing the referee by the collar, before Naoto intervened.

"Calm yourself Kanji-kun! Focus on your adversary, not him! Look out!" Naoto yelled as Kanji turned around. Minato got back up slowly during the entire ordeal, and realized that Kanji made a fatal mistake. As soon as he turned around, Minato threw the chair at Kanji which was caught with ease, but Minato spun himself around without jumping, and struck the chair against Kanji's face with a Spinning Heel Kick. He then took the chair and threw back at Naoto, striking her in the head slightly as she went down, which stirred a negative crowd reaction, but then Minato ascended to the top rope, flipped Kanji and Yu the double middle finger, jumped and flipped himself forward in a 450 degree rotation, flattening an unconscious Kanji with his 450 Splash finisher. Minato went for the pin but feigned it, deciding it wasn't enough. He went outside the ring and grabbed a fresh chair, stuck it in a corner between the top and middle ropes, and went for Kanji, picking him and barely hoisting him onto his shoulder with both hands. He went to the opposite corner of the chair and ran towards it and launched Kanji face first into the corner chair, performing his Lawn Dart finisher. He finally went for the count after an absolute fury.

*ONE! TWO! THREE! DING! DING! DING!*

Mercifully it was over, and with mixed reactions from the crowd, it dawned on Yu and his friends that not only did Minato just win, he has now become the inaugural World Television Champion exclusive to the IWA league. The official brought the gold, red-leathered belt from the timekeeper and presented it to a partially bloody Minato. In a lasting act of savagery to prove his deceiving nature, he stood over a drained Kanji, stuck his hand down, and acquired some of Kanji's blood. He took the blood and spread it across his own face with a smirk as he raised his newly won TV Title up in the air with one arm as Yu, Chie, Yosuke and the rest looked on in disbelief, completely speechless at what they had just witnessed. Yu especially realized that this was only the third match, and he still had Minato to get through in the main event, so this…was just the beginning of what may be a colossal reign….
