A/N: No new Castle tonight but here's some fluff to help get you through the mini-hiatus. Let me know what you think?

"What do you think about Nathan?" Castle asked, looking up from the laptop perched on his thighs.

Kate scrunched her nose up in response, "Not so much. I really like Alexander, but Alex and Alexis, it's just…."

"Too cute?" he finished for her to which she nodded in agreement. "What do you think about a middle name then?"

"Alexander?"

"Yeah. You said you like it and it does have a good cadence to it."

"Yeah, I could see that." Kate agreed, laying her head down onto his shoulder, her body pressed into his where they're propped up together in their bed.

"What about James?"

She looked up at him with large, tender eyes and raised up to kiss him softly.

What had begun so innocently quickly began to heat up as Kate moaned low in her throat and allowed Castle entry to her mouth when he swiped his tongue across her lower lip.

They broke apart with an obscene pop, their foreheads resting together; hot breath panting across each other lips, but neither could hold back their grin.

"That's very sweet Castle, and my dad would be honored, but James Alexander? I think we can do better than that."

"Let's put it down as a maybe though?" He asked, still holding her close.

She nodded her acceptance before looking at the list of boys names on the laptop in front of them again.

"I kind of like Samuel." She spoke a moment later, pointing out a name halfway down the list.

Castle hummed in acknowledgement, "Samuel Alexander Castle" he said testing the name out. "Sammy Castle. Ooh and it connects in with the author theme that started with Alexis Harper with Samuel Clemens. Yeah I definitely think that one should go down on our list of final choices." He decided, calling up the Word document where they were marking down the names they both liked.

Pulling the list back up, they began to peruse it again.

Suddenly, Castle's eyes lit up like Christmas had come early.

"Kate, I know what we have to name him." He announced, turning to her excitedly.

"What is it Castle?" she asked in amused curiosity.

"Nicolas."

"Nicolas?" she asked, arching her eyebrow and looking at him dubiously.

"Oh, come on Beckett. It's perfect. Nick Castle. Nikki Heat…" He stopped talking at the look on his girlfriend's face. It didn't seem as if she was going to harm him quite yet, but the amusement in her eyes was fading quickly.

"Castle, we are not naming our child after Nikki Heat." She insisted dangerously. "Besides, Nick and Rick? I don't think so."

Having made her point, Kate turned back to the list of names, making sure to keep her poker face and not to give in and laugh at the look on her boyfriend's face when she shot down the name point blank. He had to have known she would never agree with that.

"What about Jonathan?" he asked after a silent minute had passed between the couple.

Kate didn't answer right away so he tried again. "What do you think Kate, Johnny Caste?"

He turned to face her quickly when she gasped and her hands flew to her stomach.

"Kate? Beckett, what is it?" he asks, his brow furrowing in concern as he watches his girlfriend lift her shirt and stare at her perfectly rounded stomach unblinkingly.

Without answering, she reaches for his hand and twines her fingers through his own, gently comforting him without words, she brings their joined hands to her stomach and places them on the lower left side of her abdomen.

"I can feel him." She finally answers, pressing his hand down against her skin.

His eyes widen in surprise and she lifts her head to meet his gaze. "The baby's kicking?" he asks, needing the clarification, the scare they'd had several weeks before still fresh in his mind.

"Yeah, can you feel it?" she asks, pressing their hands a little harder against her stomach.

"No, it's probably still too early for me to feel him." He said, but there was very little disappointment in his tone. How could he possibly be disappointed when faced with the delight in Kate's eyes? She could feel their baby moving inside of her.

He rubbed soothing circles into her skin, looking up in surprise when she giggled.

"He must like that" she admitted, looking down at his hand in wonder. "He started going crazy as soon as you began moving"

He smirked and set the laptop aside so he could slide down in bed and rest his head on Kate's lap, lightly kissing her skin just above where his hand is still tracing patterns into her baby bump.

"Hi little one. I'm you're daddy and I already love you so much." He admits as he caresses her creamy, smooth skin.

Looking up, he notices that Beckett's eyes are shining with unshed tears, but the grin on her face and the tenderness pouring from her eyes reveal that she is anything but upset in this moment.

"I love your mommy too, and let me tell you, she's going to be an amazing mother and we can't wait until you're here with us and we can hold you and kiss you, but until then, you're mommy is going to have to keep taking care of you for a while longer so don't give her too hard of a time alright?"

Hands on either side of his face urged him up to where Kate was waiting for him, her lips meeting his and pouring out all the love she felt for him as they embraced. The ring on her right hand glinted in the soft light of the room, and while they still had some work to do, and there would be more obstacles in their way, the couple knew they were nearly there.
