I sat on my bed later that night, I say night but it's kind of hard to tell since we were in a time machine and all, when there was a knock on my door. I looked up from my book. "Yes?"

"It's Rose, can I come in, Krystal?" she asked me.

I frowned. "Yeah…I guess."

I placed my book down as the blonde Human opened my door and entered the room. Rosetta, who was trying to sleep on my bed, lifted her head up for a moment to glance over at Rose through tired eyes. After seeing who it was, she placed her head back down just as Rose came over and awkwardly sat on the end of my bed.

I raised an eyebrow. "Something you need?"

Rose had to rip her eyes away from the stars that decorated my ceiling. "How'd you get those?"

I stared at her. "The Doctor. Once again…is there something you need, Rose?"

Rose pursed her lips. "I kind of wanted to talk with you about Mickey…"

"I'm sorry about your loss," I told her, absentmindedly scratching Rosetta's head.

"What did you and him talk about when you both ran off to his grans?"

I kept my eyes locked on the Yorkie. "I didn't run off. I followed him. YOU ran off." I pretended not to see the scowl that came on to her face. "But we didn't talk about that much."

"But you did talk. What about, Krystal?"

I sighed and peered up at her through my eyelashes. "Well…I learned that the two of you once dated." Rose awkwardly shifted a bit. "And that you basically dumped him for the Doctor." My eyes narrowed. "No, sorry, so you could travel with the Doctor. My mistake."

Her eyes narrowed back slightly. "Now wait a minute, Krystal."

"Your boyfriend, nay best friend, told me how he wished that you had never even met the Doctor. He said how he lost you that day cause all you care about now is the Doctor. Doctor this, Doctor that. I could never do something so…wrong," I spat out the word with furrowed eyebrows. "To leave the man you love for someone you've just met."

Rose jumped to her feet. Her fists clenched down by her sides. "You don't understand a single thing, Krystal! You weren't there when any of this happened. You've no right to talk so."

I leaned back and folded my arms behind my head. "You asked what we talked about. Unfortunately that means also getting my opinion that comes with it." I stared her down, my eyes changing to a light red color. "It's quite sad when you think about it that I treated him like a better friend in the very end then you did. What did he say to YOU, Rose?"

Instead of responding, I watched her march out of my room, slamming the door behind her.

"Way to make friends, Krystal," I muttered, picking up my book. I frowned and clenched the book. "She deserved it a little though. She needed to know his thoughts."

I tried to continue reading my book but I kept reading the same sentence over and over again. I groaned and folded the corner of the page before shutting the book and throwing it on the ground beside my bed. I threw my head back and stared up at my ceiling as I turned off the lamp beside my bed.

"Maybe I was a bit more harsh then I needed to be…she did just lose people…" I groaned again and started to bang my head against my headboard. "Maybe I should apologize…least that way I might stop talking to myself."

I sighed, but slowly rose up to my feet. Since I was only in a bra and some sweatpants, I pulled on a sweatshirt quick and then walked out of my room, searching for wherever Rose's room was.

I wandered around for several minutes, lost as ever, when I accidentally came across the the console room. Figuring the Doctor was in there and could probably help me find Rose's room, I slowly headed towards the room. I stopped at the doorway, though, at the sound of Rose's voice. She didn't sound too happy. I quickly hid behind the wall and glanced around the corner.

The Doctor was frowning up at Rose as he sat on the jump seat. Rose was leaning against the console talking loudly and animatedly with her hands. I slowed my breathing so I could hear all that was being said exactly.

"Why did you even allow her to come aboard in the first place?" she asked the Time Lord. "She's rude and thinks she understands things that she actually doesn't! Just because she's from the future doesn't mean she needs to rub it in our faces every chance she gets. She's like a little brat."

"You don't mean that, Rose," the Doctor told her. "You'll just upset."

"No, I mean it, Doctor," she snapped. "I knew there was something I didn't like ever since she came to us on Christmas. I could feel it in my gut."

I scoffed. I did nothing to her. She was the one who got all jealous of me for just coming aboard the TARDIS. Besides, I just wanted to see my planet. It's not like I begged the Time Lord to let me journey with them. I just said yes.

"Just calm down, Rose." The Time Lord stood to his feet and wrapped his arms around the Human. "I'll talk with Krystal once she wakes up. Figure out what's going on."

Rose pushed him away from her slightly. "I told you before, Doctor, she hates me."

I shook my head. She was the one who hated me to begin with. I just acted rude back because she didn't like me. Was it needed? Probably not. But I've seen the way she sometimes acted and I was not going to put up with it. Sara Jane (even if she got better near the end there) and Mickey. It's despicable. And then me? Not liking me from the start just because I was asked to come along. To travel. To have a home. No! It's time the line be drawn and she wake up from her fantasy! She's not the only companion. She never was and never will be. She needs to learn and stop treating any other person she deems a threat like dirt. And by threat I mean someone that comes and takes away the special one-on-one time between her and the Time Lord.

The Doctor is like a drug to Rose. A really bad addictive drug. She can't stay away from him.

I peered back around the corner as the Doctor looked down at Rose with furrowed eyebrows. "You know, Krysty said the exact same thing about you, Rose."

I bit my lip to remain quiet regarding the stupid nickname.

Rose pulled away from the Doctor. She spun around and threw her arms up in the air. "And there we go with the nickname again."

The Doctor sighed. "Rose…"

"Forget it…" she muttered. "I'm going to bed."

I quickly scrambled for the shadows and held my breath as she stormed by. I waited until she was out of sight before walking into the console room. There I found the Time Lord once again sitting in the jump seat with his head in his hands and elbows on his knees. I casually sat down beside him and patted his back lightly.

"It's wrong to eavesdrop," he told me.

I blinked. "You knew?"

"Why do you think I called you Krysty?" I shrugged, just thinking it was a force of habit for him to say. "You and Rose need to talk this whole thing out," the Doctor continued without removing his hands from his face.

"That might be a challenge when neither one of us wants to talk with the other," I murmured. My hand moved to his hair and I started to play with it. "Maybe I should just leave, Doctor. I'd hate to keep your hands full with our pathetic spats."

The Time Lord looked up at me in surprise. "I couldn't ask you to do that, Krystal. I offered you a home. I'm not just going to take it away."

I gave a small smile. "You are a good man, Doctor."

He leaned back and stared up at the ceiling. "I'd be an even better one if I could get the two of you to stop fighting."

I laughed. "Good luck with that."

He frowned. "I'm serious, Krystal. Why do the two of you even dislike one another so much? Neither of you have done nothing to the other. I don't understand. What happened to 'Why should I be rude to the people who helped you save so many lives?'"

"That was years ago," I told him. "Well, for me it was anyway. Twelve years gives you a whole lot to think about. Besides, it's a girl thing, I guess," I said with a shrug. The Doctor gave me a look, obviously not liking my answer. I sighed and rubbed at my temples. "It's hard to explain, Doctor. You need to understand…I am the the type of person who will always give someone a chance before I truly come to dislike them. That's what I did with Rose. I gave her a chance, Doctor, but apparently she didn't care. She's just hated me ever since I agreed to join you two aboard the TARDIS. After so long of giving her a chance, I just came to realize that she didn't care. I could've gave her a thousand chances and I don't think she'd have stopped hating me. Does that make sense?"

He didn't really need to know WHY Rose hated me. Just that she did.

"Well, I don't like fighting."

"I'm really sorry you were brought into this, Doctor, but it really is our problem and there's no need to get involved."

"Could you just please promise me at least no fighting outside of the TARDIS?"

"Hopefully we can give it a shot, cause even I'd hate to fight when I could be enjoying the scenery of whatever place you take us to. Unfortunately I can't promise anything, though."

The Doctor sighed and waved me off. "Go to sleep, Krystal."

I slowly stood to my feet. "If this is your way of saying we'll talk about this later, it won't work. But good night, Doctor." I kissed the side of his head before heading back towards my room.

I hummed softly as I came into the console room. I grinned over at the Time Lord and came over beside him.

"Nice poodle," the Doctor told me as he eyed my attire.

I beamed and gave a twirl, letting my skirt spin with me. "Thanks. I grabbed it out of the TARDIS wardrobe. Figured I'd fit the time." It was then I noticed that his hair was slicked in a funny way. "What's with the hair?"

He was about to run his hand through his hair, but quickly stopped himself. "I figured I'd dress for the occasion as well."

"I see that…and yet same old suit."

"What's wrong with my suit?!"

"Nothing."

Rose then entered the room the next moment. She gave me one quick look before scoffing and walking right on past me, rudely bumping into my shoulder on the way. I sighed.

It appeared, though, that the two of us had the same idea of dressing up for this trip so we actually looked like we belonged in the time period. She had on a pink dress that flared out a little, a Topshop blue moto jacket, black fishnet stockings, and matching pink pumps. I on the other hand had on a classic poodle skirt. It was purple with a big white poodle smack-dab in the middle of it. I had on a white polo on top with a smaller purple poodle over one of my breasts and a black belt snugly wrapped around my middle. I also had on a purple and black mesh scarf around my neck, black gloves and fedora.

"I thought we'd be going for the Vegas era," Rose said from outside of the TARDIS. "You know- the white flares and the…" I blinked as she gave a soft growl. "Chest hair."

The Doctor walked over to the doors and poked his head out. "You are kidding, aren't you? You wanna see Elvis, you go in the late 50's! The time before burgers." The Doctor popped back into the TARDIS as I walked by him and out of the TARDIS. Rose and I ignored the other. "When they called him 'the Pelvis' and he still had a waist." I smirked as Rose gave a laugh. "What's more, you see him in style!"

At the sound of an engine, I glanced back. My eyes widened slightly in surprise and I let out a loud laugh. I quickly backed out of the way as the Doctor came riding out on a blue moped with a sidecar attached. I closed the TARDIS door as he rode out in front of us before coming to a stop. The Time Lord grinned at us, a pair of shades over his brown eyes and a white and black helmet on his head.

"You goin' my way, dolls?" he asked us in a slight Elvis personation.

Rose put on a pair of pink sunglasses. "Is there any other way to go, daddy-o?" she asked in an American accent, much better from her Scottish one from years ago. "Straight from the fridge, man!"

As Rose walked towards the Doctor and his moped, I quickly noticed that the whole point of the sidecar was because only one of us would fit behind the Time Lord. The other would have to be in the sidecar. And since I'd rather sit behind the Doctor instead of in the sidecar, I quickly speed walked towards the Doctor, as Rose paid more attention to the Time Lord then me, and hopped up behind him right before Rose got to the moped.

Rose frowned at me as the Doctor tossed her a pink version of his helmet. "Hey, you speak the lingo!" he told her delightedly. She quickly grinned back at him as she put on her helmet and situated herself in the sidecar. The Doctor turned and glanced back at me as he handed me another helmet, this one identical to the one he wore.

"Yeah well...me, mum, Cliff Richard movies every Bank Holiday Monday."

"Ah, Cliff! I knew your mother'd be a Cliff fan." The Doctor then looked back at me. "What 'bout you, Krystal?"

"If you mean Cliff, I've no idea who you are talking about. But if you mean the lingo…" I gave him a look and said in an American accent, "I don't know the lingo. I can only speak the accent."

"Well, no need to be rude," he said, but I could tell he was kidding. I lightly punched his shoulder before placing my fedora in my lap. I pulled my hair into a high ponytail and then placed the helmet on to my head. With my fedora safely tucked between my legs, I wrapped my arms around the Doctor's chest just as we sped off.

"Where we off to?" Rose asked. I glanced down at her. She was sitting with crossed arms as she looked around at our surroundings, but I could tell she was slightly pouting. Whatever. I just didn't want to sit in a stupid sidecar.

"Ed Sullivan TV Studios, Elvis did 'Hound Dog' on one of the shows, there were loads of complaints. Bit of luck, we'll just catch it," the Doctor told us.

"And that'll be TV studios in, what - New York?"

"That's the one!" he told her happily.

"Yeah, this isn't New York," I told them, still in an American accent. To prove my point a red double decker bus drove by. We pulled to a stop at the end of the street as we let the bus go on by. "I've been to New York before…and this ain't it. Plus, check the Union flags."

I feel Rose ignored me on purpose. "Digging that New York vibe!"

"Well...this COULD still be New York," the Doctor said a bit uncertainly. "I mean this looks very New York to me...sort of...Londony New York, mind you…" He then glanced back at me with a small frown. "Or…Krystal might be right and this might not be New York at all…"

"Nine hundred years and you don't know the difference between New York and London?"

"I'd like to see you do better."

"Well, considering I already knew from the start that we weren't in New York, I probably could do better. Teach me the controls of the TARDIS and;/ we'll find out."

"What are all the flags for?" Rose interrupted.

I shrugged. "Let's go ask."

A bit further down the street and we saw a van. The Doctor pulled to a stop and the three of us exited the moped. While Rose held on to her helmet, the Doctor placed his on the seat and I tossed my own into the sidecar, putting my fedora back on my head. We walked over to the people and the van as a couple boys were taking out a television and carrying it into one of the nearby houses as, who I assumed was, the house owner watched them.

"There we go, sir, all wired up for the great occasion," the man, I'm guessing Magpie since that was the name on the van, told the owner.

"The great occasion? What d'you mean?" the Doctor asked.

"Where've you been living, out in the Colonies? Coronation, of course."

"Coronation…" I murmured. "Oh, yes! Coronation! It is that time, isn't it?" I grinned. "I've always wanted to see a coronation!" I looked up at the Doctor and grabbed his arm, shaking it like a little kid. "Can we stay for the coronation, Doctor?! Pretty please!"

"What Coronation's that, then?" the Doctor asked Magpie.

"What d'you mean? THE Coronation," Magpie told him.

The Doctor grew confused as he turned between Rose and me. Rose grinned, looking bemused. "The Queen's." The Doctor blinked at her. "Queen Elizabeth!"

"Oh!" the Doctor exclaimed as it clicked. He looked back over at Magpie. "Oh, is this 1953?!"

"Last time I looked. Time for a lovely bit of pomp and circumstance, what we do best," Magpie told us.

"Look at all the TV aerials…," Rose said as she looked around. "Looks like everyone's got one. That's weird, my nan said tellies were so rare they all had to pile into one house."

"Not round here, love. Magpie's Marvelous Tellies, only five quid a box." Magpie pointed at his name on the van.

I blinked as the Doctor started to walk off. I released his arm before I got dragged along and stared at Magpie. "Only five quid? For a television set? Not to be rude, sir, but are you trying to go broke? Cause that's what it's looking like…"

"Oh but this is a BRILLIANT year! Classic!" the Doctor exclaimed, a few feet away from us. We all turned to look over at him. A grin was on his face and his hands were stuffed in his pockets. He started walking back to us. "Technicolour, Everest climbed, everything off the ration-" I arched an eyebrow as he put on a different type of English accent and lifted his hands to the sky, reminding me of a leader addressing his people. "The Nation throwing off the shadows of war and looking forward to a happier, brighter future!"

Rose laughed as I gave the Time Lord an okay sign with my hand. "Very nice, Doctor."

The next second a woman suddenly shouted, bringing all of our attention to her. A couple men were dragging a man between them as the woman who had yelled ran after them. I furrowed my eyebrows at the sight of the blanket covering the man's head, as if the men were trying to keep whatever it was hidden from the public eye.

"Someone help me, please! Ted!" the woman yelled at the two men. They ignored her, though, and pushed the man between them into the vehicle. I quickly dashed after the Doctor and Rose towards the commotion. "Leave him alone, it's my husband!"

"What's going on?" the Doctor demanded.

"Oi, what are you doing?!" I looked over as a young boy, maybe in his late teens, ran over to us.

I turned my head back around as one of the men who had pushed the man in the car addressed the Time Lord. "Police business, now get out of the way, sir!"

Rose looked at the boy as she pointed at the car. "Who did they take, do you know him?"

"Must be Mr. Gallagher…" he told her. The car then drove off, leaving the wife in despair. She gasped and brought her hands up to cover her mouth. The boy continued as an older woman, presumably his mother, came out of the house that he had come out of and leaned against the doorway, watching everything that had just happened. "It's happening all over the place. They're turning into monsters…"

"Monsters?" I asked. "What'd ya mean monsters?"

A man, probably the father, then came out of the same house of the boy. He did not look too thrilled. "Tommy!" he shouted at his son. Tommy looked back at his father at the sound of his name. "Not one word! Get inside now!"

I frowned at the man. "There's no need to be so harsh," I told him. "Especially to your own flesh and blood."

The man glowered at me in return, his fists clenching down by his sides. "I don't need some American woman telling me what I can and can't do!"

I blinked in surprise. A second later my eyes narrowed and changed to red. I started to charge at the man. The Doctor quickly pulled me back before I could fortunately get too far."

Tommy faced us once again. "Sorry, I'd better do as he says…" As Tommy ran back to his house, the Doctor released me. He and Rose then darted for the moped and hopped on to it, both pulling on their helmets as they did so.

The Doctor kicked the moped to life. "All aboard!" I looked over at Mrs. Gallagher still sobbing in front of her home for a few seconds before looking back at the Time Lord. Without much thought, I waved for him and Rose to continue on without me. He nodded back, looking slightly confused, and then drove off with Rose clenching him around the waist.

I hesitantly walked over to Mrs. Gallagher. "Are you all right?" I softly asked her.

"He's gone!" she sobbed. She latched on to me and cried into my shoulder. My eyes turned to grey as I awkwardly patted her shoulder. "They took him. I'll never see him again!"

"Shh, shh," I said. "Don't worry, I promise you that my friends and I will get your husband back safe and sound." She continued to sob into my shoulder and I wasn't sure if she quite believed me or not. I wasn't even sure if I believed me. I pulled the woman back a bit and stared into her face. I wiped at her tears. "Now, tell ol' Krystal what exactly is going on around here?"

Her eyes widened. "You don't know?" she whispered.

I shook my head, easily coming up with a lie on the spot. "'fraid not. I'm not from around here, if you can tell. Not even British."

Mrs. Gallagher looked around. "Quickly. Inside." She grabbed my hand and dragged me into her house. She led me straight into her living room before releasing my hand. "Would you like anything to drink?" she asked as she wiped at her face, even though tears continued to fall fast down it like a waterfall.

I shook my head. "I'm fine, thanks."

She nodded. "I'll still get us some tea then, just in case."

I watched her leave before looking around the living room. I started to walk around, admiring the photos that covered the walls. I stopped by the television as I came across a picture that had me smiling slightly. I traced the picture that had both Mr. and Mrs. Gallagher together when they were a bit younger. Mrs. Gallagher was laughing while her husband had his arms around her and was kissing her cheek. It made me miss having a significant other.

"We really need to fix things," I murmured. "Whatever is going on needs to stop tearing families apart because I have a feeling that this isn't the first time the police have been around." Out of the corner of my eye I then noticed some weird red electricity on the ongoing television. I rubbed at my eyes, thinking it was just a part of my imagination, but when the electricity didn't disappear, I frowned and moved closer towards the TV. "What the…?" Just as a I reached out a hand towards the television set, the electricity suddenly stopped and the TV went back to normal, like nothing had even happened. My eyebrows furrowed as I quickly inspected the TV and found it to be one of the ones from Magpie. His company name written on the back. I pursed my lips, thinking back to earlier and Magpie mentioning how he was willing to sell the things so cheaply.

When Mrs. Gallagher finally came back into the living room, I was sitting on her couch, looking around her room again and pretending like I hadn't even touched her television set. She tried to give me a smile as she placed a cup down in front of me, but it looked like more of a grimace as her mouth only twitched. Mrs. Gallagher pulled over a chair and sat down in it. She stared down at her tea as she held it cupped between both of her trembling hands.

"Okay, Mrs. Gallagher, tell me what's wrong," I told her, trying to be as gentle as I possibly could. "Why did the police want your husband?"

"Because of his face," she quietly told me. "There's something wrong with his face. Nobody really talks about it, but it's been happening everywhere. None of us knew what was happening, though. None of the families would talk about it after it happened, leaving the rest of us in wonder in slight fear. And now I understand why no one talks about it…no one would believe me." More tears fell down her face again, slowly getting faster by the moment.

"I'm so sorry, Mrs. Gallagher," I said.

"Please. Maria," she whispered. "My name is Maria."

"Maria," I amended. I then glanced over at the still going television as Maria took a sip of her drink, her hands shaking as she did so. I was slightly afraid she was going to spill it on to her dress. "Um, if you don't mind me asking, what exactly happened to your husband's face? What exactly is going on?"

"His face…his face," she swallowed and clenched her eyes shut. "It was gone. There was nothing left of it. Like a blank canvas. No eyes, nose, mouth…" She placed her teacup on the table and pressed her palms against her eyes. "Nothing…"

"Do you have any idea as to what could have caused it?"

She shook her head. "Not a clue."

I looked back over at her television as more sparks of red electricity came out and wrapped around the television set again. "I see you've got one of those TVs." I frowned as the electricity disappeared again. "Did Ted watch it a lot?"

She pulled her hands away and gave me a funny look as she nodded. "Yes. He watched it a lot, whenever he could. Thought it looked like the people on the telly were in the room right with him."

"And you?" I asked curious.

She shook her head and picked her cup of tea back up. She swirled it around in the cup. "Not as much as he did. I wasn't nearly as interested in it. I only bought it for him and so we could watch the coronation."

I nodded. "I see…" I stood to my feet and stared down at her. I placed a hand on her shoulder. "I promise you, Maria, that we will definitely fix whatever it is going on around here. You WILL get your husband back."

"What's your name?" she asked me after a few moments of silence.

I grinned. "Krystal."

"Krystal who?"

I laughed as I gave her a wink. "Exactly."

So...what'd ya think? These are my favorite type of chapters, ones that have a mix of my own original content and a bit from the TV episodes. I always wondered why Rose and the Doctor, after they drove after the police car and came back, talked to the neighbors...and not Mrs. Gallagher herself. Like, wouldn't the woman who lost her husband have a good bit of information? And now she even has a name. Made it up on the spot.

So yeah, what you think of the beginning bit? No one sounds too OOC do they? Wanted to ask cause I just was skimming through a fanfiction where the author made Rose VERY OOC and it made me paranoid that I might have done the same.

Anywho, please favorite and comment.

grapejuice101: Thank you very much!

Keep Calm and Be Ninja: I'll admit that when I first thought up of Krystal, I wasn't really thinking logically, haha. I wanted an OC that was different from the typical Human/Time Lady/Human finds fob watch and is actually a Time Lady. I was always a fan of the yes changing color based off emotions, so I decided to try an alien that could do so. Then the hands touching other people's skin and feeling their emotion was added, along with a few other things I at least thought of. And I think last minute the vision turning with the irises was added in. And I thought...why not. I guess with looking at your comment, her eyes would structurally change, hence for example the reason why her normal eye color does not affect her vision. In the end, though, I try not to think about it too much, lol. It's a horrible answer to give, but she is an alien in a science fiction show that has a spaceship that is bigger in the inside. And thank you for still enjoying my story. :D

NicoleR85: Oh yes. Definitely felt the same. I wanted the Doctor to stand up for Sara Jane...but nope. Nada. It ticked me off a bit. And Krystal maybe didn't blow up like I had originally planned to Rose, but she def got her thoughts across, I think.
